I recently hosted a party of 15 at this golf club restaurant and had a blast! The car park was big, and the views were fab. The clubhouse added a cozy vibe as we were seated to the side and felt very personal. The afternoon tea and children's meals were delicious and we had plenty of food to go around. it was so reasonably priced too! The staff was super attentive, making the booking process a breeze. Overall, I had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend it for a gathering!

Good menu and attractive surroundings backed up by friendly staff. The food was tasty and a good portion size. Fairly priced.

We booked the Iris Suite for a Funeral gathering and Tea, Coffee and buffet refreshments. The setting is beautiful, spacious and clean and well-presented. When friends and family attend a funeral, the food is always one of the key measures of success of the venue. I want to say that the food was delicious, well presented, copious and extremely good value. I am so glad I chose the venue as the feedback from the assembled friends and family was exactly as I have posted above. Thank you so much for all your hard work and I am thankful that I chose the venue. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone.

Family get together roast. This has to be one of the best roast dinmers that I have had as a meal out. The trio of meats was delicious and the staff were excellent. Highly recommended

The wife and i use the clubhouse for breakfast as it's close by. The full English is enough for any one with a healthy appetite and reasonably priced to be fair. The food comes out within 15 minutes, nice and hot and the staff are always efficient and polite. Would liked to of given 5 stars but sadly havent had one of their Sunday roasts which i am sure are just as good as their breakfasts. We will get around to having a roast soon enough, looking forward to it.

Been here with my next door Neighbour this morning around 9.15am and had our lovely coffee and cappuccino too , along with our golf club breakfast to which was lovely and well looked after as usual .. Great service too .

I live very local to the golf club and have visited on numerous occasions for Breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday Roast. I honestly don't have one bad thing to say about this place! The food is always amazing and the roast is probably the best I've had in the area. Well worth a visit.

I have a number of food intolerances which can make eating out problematic. My thanks to Trace and his team who took the time to confirm what was in the various menu options to work out what I could eat and were willing to try and find some off-menu items if there was nothing suitable. I chose a roast dinner which was really good, the roast potatoes were especially good and my pudding, Raspberry & Vanilla Panna Cotta was amazing. The atmosphere in the restaurant area is warm and friendly and the service was also the same and I will definitely be returning.

Great golf club restaurant , very friendly, not your usual stuffy golf club. The food is great well prepared and some different interesting dishes as well as the firm favourites, such as a full English. This is a golf club not haute cuisine that said it’s very enjoyable for lunches particularly amongst the older generation. If you want solid well cooked food at a reasonable price this is well worth trying

One morning I fancied a full English brekky so tried the Fairway Bistro at opening time (9.00am) This is a really nice place with a spectacular view over the 18th hole, somewhere to enjoy the peace and tranquility whilst having breakfast, or so I thought. I made my way to a window table but noticed that most of the tables still had food debris on them from the night before, not to worry I just brushed it onto the floor with a tissue. I chose the "Small Clubhouse" breakfast @ £7 This consisted of 1 x bacon (overdone and dry) 1 x sausage (good quality and perfectly cooked) 1 x fried egg (a little underdone with the white not properly cooked) 1 x hash brown (ok) 1 x very small portion of mushrooms (very nice) 1 x half a grilled tomato (nice but would have been nice to have the other half as it was quite small) 1 x very small ramekin of baked beans (difficult to eat from these ramekins but when tipped onto the plate you can really see just how small the portion is) 1 x toast with a selection of jams and marmalade (very good) 1 x cup of tea (decent size cup) The tea was served at 9.05am So 25 minutes later in an empty restaurant my breakfast arrived. Nobody had been doing anything in the meantime but as soon as my breakfast arrived at my table they started cleaning the place. One person was spraying and wiping the tables and a man started the Henry hoover making a racket in the process, that was the peace and tranquility down the pan. By the time I'd finished my breakfast some 15 minutes later they had finished the cleaning. They could just as easily start the process at 8.45 and be ready for customers at 9.00am I thought. Anyway it was ok, so off I went to the counter to pay, bearing in mind there had been no prices of drinks on the menu, but I never thought to ask. Total bill £9.50 so that's £2.50 for a cup of tea which as far as I'm concerned is about £1 overpriced, many places will include a cup of tea in with the breakfast. Taking into account the cost of the tea and the portion sizes on the plate I don't think it represented good value for money. Had it been about £8 with tea included then perhaps so. Due to their cleaning times and cost of the tea I wont be returning.

Attended the Chefs Table evening on Saturday 5th September and what a delight. The food was excellent as was the service and all served in a safe environment taking social distancing into account. Top restaurant food at a truly great price, this was our first visit and definitely won’t be our last. Thanks

First visit here. The food presentation was excellent but the service was a bit slow between courses. Clean tidy and the staff were very pleasant. Nice meal.

We were so impressed with our prompt service, lovely ladies serving us throughout the meal. The food itself was beautiful, large and very well presented. We made room for pudding too, more choice there would be nice but we were explained reduced menu due to Covid. The views here can not be beaten locally, the course itself is a pleasure to view, so with great views, staff and food we will be back.

Visited for the past two weeks for a lunch and both occasions we had good food in nice surroundings. It’s a very good place to visit and the views down the course especially in the summer are worth it.

In February 2020 we visited the Fairway Bar & Bistro at Mount Pleasant Golf Club in Lower Stondon, a place we had wanted to visit for some time having heard some great things about the clubhouse, the menu and the food, and although we don’t play golf, we discovered that you don’t need to be a member of the club to come along.Located on Station Road in Lower Stondon, it is easy to find, and on our arrival we discovered plenty of available spaces in the car park. To get to the Bar & Bistro we went through the main doors and into reception and continued through into the clubhouse. A modern building, timber built, it’s spacious, warm and welcoming, contemporary in style, with a very smart looking bar area, and we were soon greeted by our waitress, Kayleigh and seated at a nicely laid dining table.It was Thursday night, which launched a new set menu, which means you can have 2 courses for £10 or 3 courses for £13. We both agreed that this was great value for money and considering we had been delivering magazines all day we opted for the 3 courses. The set menu offers a good range of dishes plus plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options too. For starters, Andrew chose the Plaice goujons with tartare sauce and lemon, and John the breaded French brie with cranberry compote and dressed salad. Our starters arrived, looking very well presented, served upon stylish slate plates, both were delicious, a great way to get things started.With an ideal gap between courses our mains soon arrived. John ordered the Cumberland sausages with mashed potatoes, peas and gravy and it was absolutely faultless, a traditional British meal prepared and cooked to perfection. Andrew opted for the Tomato & mozzarella pizza with rocket and black olives. This went down a treat, the fresh stone baked base a highlight.The clubhouse looks out across the shared 9th/18th hole, commanding spectacular views during the daytime, however, things are about to change. The shared hole will soon become the 18th hole. A huge expansion project for the club over recent years has seen the addition and construction of 9 new holes. It is indeed exciting times for the club.Finally, onto desserts, which arrived perfectly sized, and both came with fresh tasting fruit, perfect on the palate with just the right amount of sugary sweetness. John had the berry Eton mess with Chantilly cream and Andrew’s chocolate brownie arrived warm, delicious with the vanilla ice cream and berry compote. The perfect way to complete our meal.The service was exceptional from the friendly, attentive staff, and we were always asked if everything was OK. We also got to meet the chef team - Head Chef, Trace, and Sous Chef, Marc. It was interesting to chat with them and refreshing to hear how they have so much enthusiasm for what they do, whether it’s a lunch menu for two or a 5-course wedding feast for 80.So, what’s our verdict on the Fairway Bar & Bistro? It’s a modern, welcoming and spacious venue open to everyone. A fantastic place to relax, socialise and dine out with friends and family, where you’ll get great tasting food, the epitome of modern British cooking, plus service to match. Life is definitely good on the 19th hole!

We met with family and friends for lunch. The meals were varied as we had some children. The service was quick and efficient and al meals had the thumbs up. Prices are very reasonable and the disabled facilities were fantastic as we had one wheelchair diner. The only point made was, there was no allocated disable parking. Overall this is a must try for diners.

Popped in for breakfast after the school run. We both ordered poached eggs on bloomer bread with avocado. The eggs were cooked beautifully and the service was immaculate. The bread, however, was a real let down. Unbuttered brown sliced. Such a shame.

Basic but good food. Went with friends for Saturday lunch. Had starter of olives and bread, OK but nothing special. My wife had whitebait, which I helped to finish off as there were lots of them, they were gorgeous, best I've ever tasted. Then had cod and chips, cooked to perfection. Others had ham egg and chips which was also very well cooked. Every body enjoyed theirs. Staff friendly and obliging. Nice lively atmosphere.

Recently visited this excellent bistro for a Saturday morning breakfast. The breakfasts we had were first class, both “9 hole & 18 hole versions” were enjoyed by us along with good quality coffee. Would fully recommend a visit. We visited late morning and very appetising lunches lunches were being served before we left.

Good breakfast food and great lunch choices. This golf course bar and restaurant s surprisingly good and welcoming not usual with many of similar clubs. The food is very well presented and some different choices over and above the standard fayre, particularly for breakfast, as well as the standard egg and bacon options. This restaurant seems to be a firm favourite with the SAGA demographic

Just moved to Henlow and decided to use tripadvisor to check out local eateries. There was a well balanced menu, difficult to decide. I had 21 day aged steak which was so full of flavour. My husband opted for the fish, it was huge and my daughter chose fish pie. Good service, good food = good night. This was our first visit and certainly will not be our last.

staff need lesson in manners sevice poor ,never again dont wast your time go to hungry horse far better than this dont take a part of people they cant handle it your better open a tin of beans

I recently attended a wake at the Golf Club, and was very impressed. The staff were friendly, and the food served excellent. My brother in law told me that the club was very competitively priced. Being a golfer, I was keen to check out the pro shop and found the pro very pleasant and helpful. The view down the 9/18th hole was great and all in all I can thoroughly recommend this venue.

I have visited this golf club many times for dinner and always been happy,so when my brother and sister in law came to visit me i suggested we go to mint pleasant for lunch as yesterday Saturday 23rd February was a beautiful day and my brother loved his golf thought it be the ideal place.

Another excellent dining experience. I treated my daughter to afternoon tea when she was home from university. The food was lovely and indeed plentiful. This golf club has is a large, clean well lit modern bar and restaurant with a windows overlooking the golf course and countryside beyond. The food is really lovely and well cooked although the breakfast could have done with a larger portion of baked beans. The staff are helpful and friendly. The ladies convenience and wash rooms are immaculate. I have had a lovely Sunday lunch here before. The prices are fair and there is an ample car park.

Come to Golf club on various special events as it serves good food and is pleasant. Sea bass I am told was fantastic and the Berger was good. Good range of beers.

We went on spec and we found a great Sunday Roast ! They also do other dishes and they were also excellent. I certainly would recommend anyone to try this very friendly club as the food and service were both excellent.

This is a lovely venue and the Club catering team provide good quality food every day for golfers and for other bodies and guest diners.

Looking forward to having a lovely meal, food ordered and arrived in good time, husband had fish and chips , nothing special, I had the duck , looked good but hugely disappointed, the service was very rushed cutlery plonked down and not even had first mouthful when staff returned to ask if everything was ok , too early! As then found the duck meal possibly the most bland meal I have ever tasted. The high chair we used for granddaughter had extremely dirty straps . A couple nearby had noticed my meal and told me after that it usually came with a jug of sauce when we complained they just said oh yeah sorry ! Yes so was I , that we didn't go somewhere else.

This is a very pleasant place to enjoy a meal or just a tea or coffee, the large windows overlook the 18th golf hole so if you like golf perfect views, and all very pleasant !

Great Sunday roast lunch. We had the roast beef which was plentiful and cooked to perfection. I have been there many times but not had the Sunday roast. I will be having it more often from now. This restaurant/Bistro is ideal for families with young children. High chairs can be provided and children portions are available. I did not have a sweet as I was full from the main course.

Went to the annual Firework display at Mount Pleasant Golf Club, we have been going for a few years now. Excellent night, great display, good beer and Burgers and hot Dogs. All to support local village good causes.As usual very well attended.

We visited recently and anjoyed a superior Sunday lunch. Our reservation was for later in the day when often the vegetables to accompany the roast meal are flabby and unappetising - not here, the veg was crisp and delicious, the meat succulent and the presentation delightful. Probably one of the best roasts I've enjoyed in quite some time. The service was polite quick and attentive and the whole experience, with the beautiful views over the 18th hole on a lovely day was lovely. Highly recommended

My other half and Live locally and regularly visit this place for breakfast or lunch. Friendly service in wonderful surroundings with a pleasant atmosphere. Tasty food at a decent price. I recommend the 18 hole breakfast!

They have a lovely stylish modern club house, the staff are very friendly and it is a very relaxed atmosphere and not too 'stuck up' like many Golf Clubs. Our Sunday lunches were delicious and well presented as were the desserts. They also provide excellent breakfasts which we've eaten on several occasions. The bar also has a good selection of guest ales too.

Decided to call in for lunch, lovely sunny day we sat on the terrace and watched the golfers finish off their games. Very responsibility priced, generous portions. We enjoyed, ham egg chips and cheese sandwich with a portion of chips and lovely onion rings very tasty.

This restaurant is part of a 9 hole golf course and caters for casual golf eaters/drinkers to formal events. Have participated in both and found good service and tasty food and drink. Family owned and run but could do with another 9 holes to compliment the club house.

Not exactly find dining but this is what I chose for lunch and it was really good. Ham was good quality off the bone, chips were very crisp on the outside but light and fluffy inside and eggs were cooked just how I like them with the whites set but not crispy and the hold still runny. Others in our group had the beetroot and feta salad and that looked well presented and we'll dressed, the latter being one of the reasons why I didn't choose this particular dish as so often salads are poorly dressed.

Visited twice in the past week with my wife. On one visit we had lunch, which was very nice. I had the beef & Stilton sandwich with onion rings and my wife had gammon baguette with sweet potato fries (fries were really good), all good value. Returned just for drinks as we are local( next village), again really enjoyed with nice atmosphere and really good London Pride :-). Will be visiting again soon.

Food lovely however due to shortage of staff & communication with kitchen some food came out cold & not quite as ordered, so we ended up with some of us eating 20 mins after 1st plate came out . The manager did explain they had a function in & this being the case did offer compensation we did not have time for desert.

It was our first visit to the golf club restaurant. We went for breakfast. The outlook over the golf course from the restaurant was very pleasant indeed. One or two diners were actually seated outside on the veranda. We all ordered full English and were delighted with everything on our plate from the amount to the taste (especially the sausages). We all received toast with our breakfast and a nice added touch was that a selection of spreads and conserves were brought to our table at the same time. The staff were very polite and efficient. We will definitely return again. A very pleasing experience.

Just been to the Golf Club to try the new menu . Good choice of new dishes and some always favourites. The new chicken thigh dish was excellent. Highly recommended,give it a try.

Nice place overlooking golf couse. Breakfast could not be faulted and very reasonable price. Also went to a couple of functions in an adjoining room. What a pleasant surprise especially when catering for so many people.

We've eaten here a few times after a round of golf and never been disappointed. Food and drink is always very reasonably priced and in the summer its lovely sat out the back too.

A group of 6 of us ate a really great Sunday lunch at the Golf club restaurant yesterday. Most of us had a roast and it was the best restaurant roast that I have eaten for a number of years. Everyone agreed. We attended a function at the club recently and the set menu meal was truly excellent. Meals served at functions can often be very poor even at the best of establishments, not here. It was a delicious meal and the presentation was as good as many top restaurants. Everyone on our large table commented on how good the meal wasWe normally eat there mostly at breakfast and lunchtimes which is always very good but will now start eating there more in the evening as the reports on the food from others have been so good

Great place to eat, had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and all very good! Staff are lovely, prices reasonable. Afternoon tea and cakes are good too.....will always recommend and keep going back!

I have been here on a number of occasions and I have always found the staff to friendly and efficient. I either go after a round of golf for a breakfast which is very good value for money or with my wife after work on a Friday. The Chef has changed recently and there are changes being made to the menu which provides a good range of food. The Swedish style club house has a veranda that over looks the 9th/18th hole which in the summer is good for sitting outside letting the stress from the week drain away as you watch the golfers approaching. Beer is limited to a London Pride and a guest beer with a couple of lagers. There is a wide range of wines and other spirits if that takes your fancy. I cannot say I have been disappointed on my visits to the golf club and I will certainly be returning in the near future

Often have lunch at Mount Pleasant Golf Club Bistro. Food is always very good & the staff very friendly. The Sticky Toffee Pudding is to die for. They also have rooms for hire for private parties.Lovely views of the Fairway especially in the summer. Always very clean & pleasant ,althoughlast week it was rather cold in the restaurant.

We went today for a meal at Mount Pleasant Golf Club after hearing great reviews from a number of friends over the past few months. We had a super meal in the most lovely setting. The views from our table over the golf course, even in this weather, were beautiful. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back very soon as the Christmas menu looks very tempting !

I celebrated my birthday here with three friends. It was my first time there and I was not disappointed. Everything was spotlessly clean; food was good and cooked to perfection.I would recommend.

Our family of 4 adults and two children enjoyed a delicious meal on Thursday evening. We booked the day before and our table was reserved & ready on arrival. We were greeted by friendly bar staff & our orders were taken promptly & efficiently. It was a beautiful evening, so we took our pre-dinner drinks out onto the terrace overlooking the very attractive golf course. We ordered a sharing platter of mini starters including garlic bread, cheese, olives & Parma ham + a bowl of Nachos with various dips. There was more than enough for the 6 of us. Our main courses were obviously freshly cooked to order and the side dishes of vegetables were just perfect. A few of us had scampi, which was well cooked & a generous portion of 10 large scampi each. The chips were golden & crispy. We didn't get around to desert, but left as very happy, well satisfied customers & will definitely return. The club house, restaurant and function rooms are all very light, airy & attractive & I recommends Mount Pleasant Bistro as a delightful venue for all the family, not just the golfers in the family!

Came with family for Sunday lunch on friends recommendations and it totally lived up to expectations.The food was wonderful all freshly coked nothing frozen really tasty especially the potatoesMost definetly recommend this to anyone 10/10

As a family we eat at The Bistro often, the food is great and the atmosphere is fantastic even just for a relaxing drink.

My dad has his retirement party here and it was a great night. Food was brilliant. Bar staff were friendly. Lovely place and brilliant for holding a function. My parents were very pleased with how they organised it all too.

We held a Rotary Club 30th Anniversary Dinner in the function room of the really attractive Club House. I have used the Club for several other functions and never been disappointed. Sixty-two Rotarians from about ten Rotary Clubs attended the dinner. The evening was a great success and I have received many comments complimenting the staff and the excellent quality of the meal. I have to agree with them, the staff were efficient and friendly, and the meal was really of the highest standard. I highly recommend it to other organisations, you will not be disappointed.

The bar and dining area are in a very pleasant location overlooking the greens. The food is probably what you would expect for a working golf club, quite pub-grub, but with a touch more finesse. In summer it's lovely to sit on the verandah and watch the golfers as they complete their rounds. A very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.

Been here several times for food. Breakfast, lunch, Sunday roast and each time the food has been good.The service has always been spot on too and it's a beautiful building with a fantastic view over the final hole of the golf course.

Stunning view from the clubhouse, lovely relaxed atmosphere! We have been to mount pleasant many times now, for breakfasts/lunches and evening meals & even functions. The bistro menu (available evenings only) has some outstanding dishes, the seabass being my favourite!! The bar staff and waitresses are all friendly and very helpful, a selction of fresh homemade cakes, scones, roasted nuts and home marinated olives are all available on the bar!! Well worth a visit!!

Had a really enjoyable evening at this venue at a special curry evening. Food was excellent & plentiful and well stocked bar with a good pint of London Pride. Once you get inside the building is really well designed, doesn't feel like a 'typical golf club' and would make a good venue for a party/wedding etc. Worth a visit !

We loved this place - great menu, very good service and really good surroundings. Unfortunately though I had food poisoning as a result of my visit and was ill for a couple of days afterwards!Very sad about it as we thought we'd become regulars. Needless to say, we will never be going back!

We visited the restaurant for a cosy meal for two at end November 2011. Food very fresh and tasty - example dishes bread/oils, olives, sea bass and roasted veg, creme brulee - they have a new chef and the menu was not huge but definitely enough choice. Waitress v good and meal excellent value for money.The new clubhouse is also worth a visit during the day - you don't have to be a member, anyone can pop into the bar for a drink, also homemade cakes on the counter. Just what the village needs and should be supported!
