The Coach House in Central Bedfordshire

A group of four of us called in for lunch. Plenty of parking. We were welcomed in a offered a choice of rooms to be seated. All the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Good choice of drinks and the food was fantastic. We sat in the front seating area which was bright and good for watching the goings on in the town. There are back rooms that offered a quieter experience and plenty of covered garden areas. We fully intend to return in the near future.

Booked to stay for a wedding not too far away. The staff were friendly and polite and the food was really yummy. Rooms were modern and clean with some lovely touches to the decor. Felt like a boutique stay. Extra blanket on the bed incase you get cold and a fan if you’re too hot was a nice touch. Tea, coffee, water and biscuits provided. Shower was lovely and I have to comment on the shower gel and conditioner, it’s smelt gorgeous I haven’t wanted to wash my hair since! There is a beautiful secluded courtyard out the back where we spent the afternoon. Didn’t get much time to explore the local area but popped across the road to a bakery which sells some amazing cakes and pastries. Debs was very helpful to provide taxi number ahead of our stay. There is a nice big carpark at the rear which is a bonus! There was a little bit of noise downstairs in the morning, probably staff preparing for the day ahead. I stayed on the first floor and friends who stayed on the second floor weren’t disturbed at all. Also some holes in the pillow case but it didn’t bother me. Great quality for the price paid. Overall fab stay and I’d stay again!

We stayed here for 1 night when we were at a wedding in the area. The Coach House is set in a lovely market square, with parking around the side of the building. Our room was a good size, modern, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was very nice - good quality and friendly staff. I gave 4 rather than 5 stars for the early check out time. We had to be out for 10, and if we wanted the room until 11 it was an extra £15. I think for a Sunday morning this is far too early (especially when the next guests can’t check in until 2pm!) However, this is my only quibble, and I would stay again if we were in the area.

Having traveled to many countries in the past to come to a small hotel / bar with such friendly and helpful staff was a breath of fresh air. I really can't say enough and praise them. Fantastic!!!

My groomsman party stayed at The Coach House the night before our wedding. They were all really pleased with their rooms which were modern, comfortable and clean. We really appreciated a late checkout being accommodated on a couple of the rooms to allow them to get ready before the ceremony. They also had a great dinner and thought the food and staff were brilliant, so thank you!

Good good and excellent service. Not too happy with our table position but had worse🥴. Will be back but ask for a better table position next time.

We have just spent the weekend here along with many of our family as we were attending a wedding locally. What a brilliant place The Coach House is. Fabulous contemporary rooms and spotlessly clean. Lovely bar and great breakfast. Super friendly and helpful staff.

Sadly not the best Sunday roast. The chicken was over cooked & dry, it definitely wasn’t freshly sliced from a joint. Looked as if it had been cooked on a griddle with black stripes running through. The brisket was smoked otherwise quite tender, not a fan of smoked meat so this was not eaten either. The bill was adjusted to compensate for the disappointment. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff were brilliant and so understanding as table was booked for 12 but my sister has a nightmare journey due to major accident on M11 she arrived 2 hours later but it was no problem and they kept checking on me to see if I was OK and as always the food was delicious.

Outstanding as always great food and friendly service went for national fish and chips day with my son and it was absolutely delicious 🤤

Sunday lunch was great, the beef brisket superb, deserts were also good. The service was attentive and friendly. Would recommend.

Family holiday meal. Had two tables - one for the kids. The 1hr 15minute wait for the kids meals to arrive was terrible. Then when they did arrive £10 per meal for a small serve of 4 nuggets resulted in all the kids (all under 10) wanting more food and we had to take them across the road to the co-op to get something to eat. They wanted dessert but the wait between courses was way too long to even entertain this. The brisket was fatty and unpleasant and a strong flavour that was not enjoyable. The beetroot starter was cold salad beetroot and not the anticipated warm roasted beetroot. The meal was disappointing, over priced and took a long time and then they added 10% service charge automatically to the two seperate tables (kids table and adults). The accommodation is really lovely and of a high standard but regrettably would not return for a meal.

Great vegetarian roast and my husband loved his burger. Efficient service by friendly staff particularly Mark. Reasonably priced too with a good prosecco. Will definitely go again on a Sunday as well as other times.

I have stopped here a number of times with work in the last 12 months. Rooms are really good! Clean, warm and well appointed. The bathrooms are always spotlessly clean. The food on the restaurant is excellent and the range of bears in the bar is also very good. The staff are all really welcoming and now they also offer a cooked breakfast in the morning! Perfect!

We came with friends for the Pie Night. Delicious chicken pies. Perfect pastry. Mashed potatoes, greens, and onion gravy. There is always a lovely relaxed atmosphere in The Coach House. Great staff.

Lovely pub/ restaurant in the centre of Potton on the market Square. Friendly and helpful staff, a lovely atmosphere and nicely decorated. Best of all, we visited after a very long walk on a very frosty morning and were greeted by a lovely roaring fire. I had soup and sourdough bread which was lovely and warming, my friend had the eggs florentine which looked amazing and she assured me was absolutely delicious. The Coach House is definitely well worth a visit.

Absolute waste of money. A menu that you couldnt follow and didnt make any sense , typed out in what could only be described as being akin to a 1970s typewriter font . Staff that dont know any details of the menu , ie was it pork or beef ......undercooked food , small portions.and way too pricey....felt ripped off!!......Im sure its a nice place to have a drink , but dont waste your time going for a meal

We had a lovely time when we came with our family for lunch and the staff were so lovely and attentive and nothing was to much trouble , We asked to move tables as we had a baby in our group with a pram and they moved us into a bigger room which was absolutely perfect 😍

Kerry's warm and welcoming demeanour made me feel right at home and her dedication to exceptional customer service was truly commendable. The Coach House itself was delightful, offering a seamless blend of historic charm with modern comfort. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a hotel in the area.

Me and my family came to the coach house for my birthday dinner. It's a lovely place, and staff lovely. But the food was tiny portions (literally served on little plates for sandwiches) and super expensive. Even my dad's steak turned up on a little plate (plus clearly dry and not freshly cooked), with 1 mushroom. It looked so sad! On the face of it the prices don't look too horrendous, but when you realise that your mains literally come on their own (so a burger on its own, steak on its own, etc), and you have to add on everything extra as a side (so £4-5 a pop for a little cup of chips)... it all gets extremely expensive. We had a rubbish night, which was a shame as we came here a year ago and had a fantastic time with great food. We left feeling sad, poor and hungry! Please sort out the tiny portion sizes and horrendous prices coach house!

Stayed for two nights whilst attending a wedding in the area. Our room was excellent and furnished to a high standard, Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Had dinner one night which was delicious as was the breakfast. If i'm ever in need of accommodation in this area again I would certainly stay at The Coach House

First Time in this little town and went to see some friends for lunch. This place was very cosy and in somehow posh. I had chicken roast but I tried the nut roast as well. They were nice and staff was very friendly. Highly recommended

This place is truly a gem! We had 9 of us stay here for a week while in town for work and was blown away. The whole place is so warm and inviting, cozy. The rooms were great and the food- WOW everything we ate here was incredible. I think what made it even more special was the kindness of the staff. Popped into the Coach house for brunch. Busy,on entering,seated promptly,menus given,time given to choose drinks and food. My friend wanted a non alcoholic gin n tonic! £7.20! Really. I had a Prosecco. Food! I plumped for a BLT toastie,with potato skins,my friend had smashed advcado on sour dough,but she asked for granary bread,no brown bread,so she had to have gluten free bread! Surely being a hotel you would have brown bread for toast! She also didn’t want egg on top ,so asked for a mushroom,which they did. All tasty,but I feel a tad pricey.

Decent Sunday roast but gravy with a little too salty and cauliflower cheese was tucked under the vegetables and covered with gravy. Would have been nice if it was served on side of plate and not underneath everything else.

A beautiful well managed restaurant. Food is cooked on the spot and has divine flavours. Does come with hefty bill if your hungry and thirsty. Couples should budget up to £100 and it's a perfect treat

They are trying to be to fancy, if they just simplify with pub classics done well, the food is very expensive, we would definitely go a lot more if the prices come down, the tiny burger for £14 that comes with nothing! Glass of wine and a cider for £16.50! This isn’t Mayfair it’s Potton, they need to get a grip.

Fab roast, just like home cooked. Would definitely recommend. As a vegetarian with a mushroom allergy they were super accommodating and understanding that I couldn’t have the nut roast and loaded up the plate with, I’m sure extra, scrummy roasties. What with delicious vegetables and a massive Yorkshire pud I was in roast dinner heaven!

Such a shame we have loved eating here several times of the last year alone. We sadly visited here the end of July possibly early August to find the menu had changed. So disappointed!!! The menu had been stripped down cheaper cuts etc with nothing accompanying them and everything as an extra. When we asked the owner where was the other half of the menu and when was it changed she took it as an insult which I guess it was but mainly disappointment on our behalf however she was extremely rude to us. We decided to pay for our drinks and left not even ordering and went to another pub in the village which was lovely!! We have supported the pub for many years but we like others in the village feel the changes they have made are a step too far.

The food was delicious, portion sizes were ideal so I was full without wasting food by leaving any. The service was friendly and attentive without being too needy, and the price was very reasonable. Ample parking and the fact they are dog-friendly is a bonus too.

Food was good but restaurant which was small was used as a walkway for people and there dogs from the bar to go to the toilet and to exit the premises. Also when people were eating several people from the bar filled up the tables....

I have eaten at the Coach House on a number of occasions. The food is normally wonderful but yesterday it was a bit off. On a quiet evening the service was disappointingly slow. The menu is maybe trying a bit too hard currently.
