We were on holiday and wanted our lunch. Called into the cafe, we were going to have the cottage pie, I asked if there were peas in it, I was told yes, so I said I only wanted one then for my husband, and I’d have the liver & onions with mash and bacon strips. When it came the gravy was mixed with peas, lots of them mixed in with it! Peas was not mentioned on the menu,I could’ve taken it back, but they were busy, so I just moved it all around abit. I went home hungry, and they are £12 better off. Lovely cafe, roomy, polite. But not again. I hate peas!
We pre booked the long table in the bar for 10 adults and three very young children on a Saturday lunch. We ordered from the grazing boards and the food was absolutely delicious. Sizzling garlic prawns; home cured Gravadlax, fresh home baked bread; olives; cold cured meats; pickled herrings; Ibetico ham…etc etc.. such an enormous selection of wonderful food. The pub was cozy and warm ( the log fire was blazing) and nothing was too much trouble.
At the end we paid exactly what we expected ( we had pre booked) and everyone of our large group thought it was fantastic value. I cannot recommend this lovely pub enough.
We stopped here for some lunch, really generous portions. Biscoff cheesecake was delicious! Staff very welcoming, as was the dog who greeted us on arrival. Would advise to book in advance as gets busy.
My third time here... last two were very poor experiences and this one, well a bit better, but really they need to do something about their portions which are tiny. My wife, because of her dietary needs, asked them to remove several items from a dish as she cannot eat them but instead of increasing the main dish (a dahl) they simply brought their usual small portion without any of the other items (bread, salad, bahji, etc) and charged the same. It was very funny to see a tiny spoonful of dahl in a bowl and be asked to pay £13. At least the food was fairly warm unlike the previous two visits when it was cold.
Always the best Chinese locally!!! Staff always nice & good reliable food. We always vary between smoked chicken, salt & chilli chicken/prawn, duck, seaweed, beef chow mein, anything in black bean sauce, prawn toast and rice & curry sauce. Portions are very good and prices are fairly reasonable (around £25 for 4 dishes delivered on average). Free prawn crackers & a bottle of drink too if spend over £30 I think. My only critique is wish they did normal mini veg spring rolls as don’t like these ones they are large battered! Sometimes a tad greasy but overall enjoyable!
Excellent fish & chips, so nice we had them twice last week when visiting the area. The local chippy’s near our stay in Hemsby Scratby & Newport were all closed, I would definitely come back to Ryan’s Fish & Chips on our next visit. Ring the number to pre order and they’ll be ready when you get there.
Popped into Norbury’s for the first time today and I was seriously impressed. The customer service was top-notch—friendly, welcoming, and really engaging from the moment we walked in. I accidentally forgot to ask for no mayo on a sandwich, but the team didn’t hesitate—took it back without any fuss and brought out a fresh one. Proper great service!
As for the food—spot on. But the real MVP? That sourdough bread. The crust alone was next level… crispy, golden perfection. Easily a 10/10.
Wings: I ordered the hot sauce and blue cheese wing, they had no spice and tasted of herbs and lemon so I’m not sure if I received the right ones, they were however still tasty 4*
Burger: This order they did get wrong I ordered the beef burger and got a chicken burger. This burger wasn’t very good, very plain and dry, cheese wasn’t even melted on the top. 2*
Bacon Fries: I really liked these, plenty of flavour and absolutely moreish 5*
I wasn’t blown away by this place but I recon I’ll give it one more try.
This is the second time we have been here and the service is absolutely fantastic. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the food is delicious. I think this place is worth visiting and we'll worth the money. Thank you to all the staff for your kindness and look forward to seeing you again when we are next down here. :-)
