Been getting food from here for 25+ years and has always been delicious. I still come back every now and again even though I’m not that close by anymore.

Good food at good prices. It was cash only on the night we visited, so bear that in mind.

So glad laws cottage is still here. Food and service was excellent. Our order was as hot and tasty as ever. Thank you, you made our trip complete.

Been using Laws for over 20 years today 13/7/23 picked up the order at 7pm phoned and complained at 8:10pm to say the Garlic and Chilly chicken(3)was hard and tough and also the satay Chicken(37) was the same. The chicken balls however were great and the Singapore rice was good . When my wife phoned they claimed we had the meal 2 hours ago and it wasn't there fault . The wife confirmed it wasn't ours as we hadn't cooked it . The wife continued to argue until they offered to refund the two dishes next time . There are time when its really good and other times not so good . The rating is based on 3 dishes OK and 2 un-edible.

Salt + pepper ribs were amazing. Prawns and pork in hoisin sauce was absolutely disgusting! Had one mouthful and threw in the bin. Never tasted any Chinese food like that it tasted really sour and smelled like cider!?

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! Just picked up an order from Laws and it was the worst chinese I have ever had!!! The chicken curry was terrible ( I have never seen square chicken before ) the chicken chow mein was so salty and over cooked as was the egg fried rice its was just all brown and indistinguishable. The customer service is awful when I called to complain the lady just told me she was busy she didnt have time and put the phone down on me!!!!!

Ordered Sweet and sour prawns Hong Kong style , when I got home it was chicken , not much use to a vegetarian! Husbands chow mien so salty went straight in the bin. Will not be ordering there again

One of the best takeaways I’ve ever had. The food is delicious! My wife really enjoys seafood but hardly has it out as no where cleans the prawns but Laws Cottage does. The food is so tasty that we can’t get enough and keep going back for more.

We ate a set meal from here midweek and were very disappointed with the quality of several items. Spare ribs were dry and almost charcoal, and the shredded beef was also heavily overcooked. Nothing on the order tasted freshly cooked. When I discussed this with the owner I was told that everything was cooked to order and I did not understand Chinese food. As a regular consumer of Chinese food for nearly 60 years I was perplexed by this opinion. Finally I was begrudgingly offered a very small discount if I wanted to eat their food again. I declined.

Got a takeaway here and took it to pin mill to eat at a picnic bench overlooking the river. Had chicken balls and chips. Plenty to share between two .

This is the best Chinese in the area. We're not local and it's a bit of a faff to get cash to pay with but we are more than happy to make the drive to Laws Cottage as it is so good.

Utterly delicious, wonderfully tender duck in the chow mein, and lots of it too! First time visitor and will be heading back as soon as possible! Soooo tasty!!!

Excellent Chinese good quality food good service

Had a chicken curry. The chicken was not cooked properly, it was still pink and fleshy inside. The worrying reaction from the take away was to simply say that it had been cooked twice.. Would urge extreme caution.

Best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had

Laws cottage is by far the best Chinese take away out of any I’ve ever had! Everything is made from scratch and has its own unique flavour. Lived in chelmo since I was tiny and moved away to various cities and every time laws cottage wins.

I've been to my fair share of Chinese restaurants. I have yet to find another that matches the service and food quality of Laws Cottage. I've been a regular customer for the past 4 years and have been very happy with everything i've purchased (and for one of a better phrase: Devoured). Would Recommend to anyone looking for a tasty Chinese take away at a cheap cost.

I've never been able to fault their service! The couple who run it are lovely, the portion sizes are very generous and not to mention EXTREMELY tasty!!
