Great quality food and great friendly owners. Highly recommend!

I called at 8pm just to ask if they'll still be open around 8.30pm, as sometimes shops here shut early if there's no one around. They stayed open until my partner got there which was so sweet of them. The food was really good. Hit the craving, and my cats enjoyed the bit if cod they stole too 🤣

I’m one for supporting local businesses and I also actively patronise them… As part of my Saturday gastronomy hobby, I choose to visit a new café every weekend. Entering the Lotus was a 50:50 thing as it was deserted and looked almost abandoned. As a summary, I wasn’t impressed by the ambiance, the food was just average but the down side was the cleanliness and tidiness. I could see food droppings, cutlery and plastic bottle caps from last night (we hope). To cap it up, I suffered a rush to the loo barely 30 mins after dinning. Needless to say, I won’t be recommending this eatery or even thinking of returning. That’s all.

Beautiful family run chippy! I’ve tried many in the area and The Pearl Fish Bar is absolutely the best around. I am a regular on Fridays and they cook my fish fresh to perfection every time! You must try their haddock and their amazing curry sauce - 5 stars from me!

Not happy, chips brown, chicken fried too much and dry on the outside and greasy on inside, oil needs changing..wasted 20 quid gave it to the dog..should have gone to cuffley..

Terrible queuing system, absolutely painful waiting while you see your order sat there resulting in food being cold. Sometimes chips are good. Sometimes not. If they’d only have a separate queue for collection it would have saved me half hour of my life even though I pre-ordered. There was only 3 people ahead of me 1 of which had also previously-ordered. This was at 5.30pm on a Friday. 3 staff and half hour wait.. not good at all. I understand it’s probably the way they’ve always done it and perhaps stubbornness prevents them changing to what every other restaurant does but seriously.. sort it out.

Probably the best chip shop in the area. The people that work there won’t be recruited by Disney anytime soon. I thought I saw the Lady smile once but it was the sun glare. Don’t buy the chips once the store is open in the early evening as on occasions the chip taste like they were leftover from the lunchtime trade. However the chips when fresh are simply the best

We make sure the whole family enjoy their scrumptious Fish'n'chips. The staff are so careful preparing the food. I highly recomend this vernue.

Being northern I know how I like my chips and this place delivers every time. Golden and soft and fluffy and full of flavour I love them and travel 20 minutes to get chips from here that’s how good they are.

Despite pre-ordering still had to wait in line to get served. Fish was disappointing as batter was soggy and chips were hard. Not that great considering it's not cheap either.

Traditional fish and chip shop serving traditional quality portions at a realistic price. The couple that own the shop will make you laugh as they heckle each other with Banta and jokes. Lovely.

I will only get fish and chips from this place. Freshly cooked, clean oil, fresh succulent fish. Good value as you get what you pay for. Personally I always get matzo meal as I don’t like batter. As for the couple that own and run it, they are elderly and work incredibly long hours to make a living so if the guy isn’t always full of smiles he can be forgiven. Lovely lady, if you chat to her she’ll chat back. Don’t bother with anywhere else

Have used all the fish n chip restaurants in the surrounding area, and whilst none are particularly bad, this one is particularly good. Always very good sized portions and cooked in the proper traditional way. Highly recommend.

There was a time when you could always get good fish and chips here whenever, whatever time you went. I've not been for a while as last two previous times it was not good, but thought I'd try again. The fish was dry and batter soggy and rubbery. It certainly wasn't freshly cooked and by the state of it had been sitting around. It wasn't cheap and a waste of money.

This shop's fish is excellent but believe me you will be playing well over the average price for it. Personally I don't think it's worthy of the extra money. The proprietor is a very miserable sour-faced looking man who does nothing to draw in the customers. She's a very friendly lady.

If I want fish & chips or chicken and chips this is the place I go to. Most fish is cooked to order so you will have to wait but you know it is lovely and fresh.

The food is excellent and the portions large. The fish is always fresh. The staff are friendly although it can get busy.

One of the best fish and chip shops I've ever been too, staff are friendly, chatty and helpful and the food is cooked properly and is always warm and tasty.Can eat in also and there is a small number of table and chairs or you can just sit down as you wait for your food to be cooked. Price wise it's very reasonable and competitive.There is parking outside but not much of it so your relying on luck.

Food is always freshly cooked and tasty - served with a friendly smile. The haddock just melts in your mouth.

Simple, go to this chippie because it is freshly made, best flavour and good size portions... The prices may seem a bit steep but well worth it.. Great curry sauce too, to dip your chips in... Enough said I think

Been eating from here for 15 years and love it. Lovely people, but importantly the fish is amazing. It's not the cheapest but the quality is top notch. No need to look else where.

Have tried several chippes around and this is the best, the fish is crispy and usually cooked to order, also crispy chips that are never greasy. Open lunchtimes and evenings! Service with a smile too. Been there years and always reliable :)

Never know how it is going to be . It's OK ,there is worse around and better . It used to be our favourite a few years ago but first of all the size went down ,then the batter became very salty and then we discovered they cook the fish and meat together which is a no no for us as we haven't eaten meat for 30 years ! So won't be returning !

I use this fish bar quite a lot abnd the food really is hit and miss. One day you get nice chips and the next you get soggy mess. Fish is always nice but very expensive
