The best restaurants in East of England

A lovely welcome from Chloe on our arrival, she remembered our drinks order from our previous visit a couple of weeks ago. This was our 3rd visit thoroughly enjoyed a vegetarian Brie and mushroom vol-au-vent roast and beef roast. Lovely atmosphere. Excellent value. Delightful staff nothing too much trouble. We will return

The food was amazing , everything was cooked beautifully and the staff were very attentive and informative . Amazing value for a set 2 or 3 course with just the right size menu to choose from . You know if a menu is too vast it’s not doable for the chef to be all his own work . Thank you everyone . We had a lovely evening

What a lovely surprise. We were just cycling past and discovered this pub randomly. The food was tasty, looking forward to trying some more dishes.

I walk past Maurizio's often but haven't eaten there for many years. On an impromptu night out we enjoyed an excellent dinner. The food was authentic and the veal delicious, with fresh vegetable and huge portions. Several people took home the remains of their food, especially pizza. It would be nice to have a bigger choice of house wine by the glass. The restaurant looks very pretty with a tree in the middle, but the unfinished woodwork would benefit from a coat of paint. When full or with a large group it was noisy as there are no soft furnishings to absorb the sound. It is very popular at the weekends so you need to book. A good local dinner.

Felt very welcome ale was good food was very good and chloe was a delight service with a smile nothing too much trouble we will be back !!

The food and real ales were good. We sat outside in a covered area in the back garden. Very pleasant on a hot day in April.

Fabulous breakfast full English with a pot of tea, plus egg on toast, all ways good quality ingredients great staff well worth a vist

Lovely food as always, staff so warm and friendly. Had the homemade Lemon Meringue Cheesecake. It was to die for. I could have ate the whole thing. Will be requesting it again Julie Edwards-Shaw

My husband and I have just had a 3 course Sunday lunch and what can I say, food was pipjng hot and delicious! The owners were very welcoming and so attentive. Looking forward to eating there again, we have found a little gem right on our doorstep!

Good pizza and beer staff were really friendly

Went to the new Kennys cafe that has just opened on Hawthorn Drive, today at 3 pm.The only customer sat at a table. One worker was cleaning behind the counter and the other was chatting away at the counter to 2 young girls.I looked over and he looked over, for exactly 1 minute and 5 seconds. I then walked out. Obviously the 2 young girls were more important.

This is a real hidden gem and well worth the trip! We have dined at this pub a few times now and you really can’t beat it! The food is absolutely excellent - both in terms of quality and presentation. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff very friendly. We will definitely be returning in the very near future. Highly recommended!

We visited this cafe/restaurant whilst visiting family in clacton. They use this lace a lot and we took them there for breakfast as they recommended it. We got a table straight away. We got the menus quickly, we ordered drinks and then our food. The waiting staff were all so friendly and polite. The food we had was very good, fresh and very hot. It was a good price for us all to have breakfast and drinks.

Took 1 hour 20 minutes for really bland and awful food to come. Went with a group of six friends for dinner. I ordered the Burger and my friends the curry. Been dining for for over 40 years and this is the worst I and my friends have experienced. Such a shame since the place looks nice.
