Lunch was really delicious. Our niece from Australia had cod, chips and mushy peas. Portion was huge and looked delicious. My wife had lamb knuckle, which she said was the best pub meal she'd ever had. I had beef burger and chips which was also delicious. The girls on duty were very friendly, efficient and a pleasure to be with. Highly recommend anyone looking for great food, pleasant surroundings and good service to try the Blue Boar.

Came in with a few members of staff for a passing lunch. Spur of the moment decision so didn't book. We walked in via the open front door to see the pub lively with lunch time drinkers and people eating lunch. We ordered drinks and asked to see a menu. 6 of us ate from the main menu and after about 15 minutes our food arrived, home made and fresh. The waitress did a check on us to see if we needed anything and if the food was okay. Perfect! As we all had to get back to work we ate up, paid our bills and left. Will be returning for a relaxed evening meal in the future. Pub decor was nice and the outside patio area looked perfect for chilling on.

We've avoided this pub after a disappointing visit years ago, but during a spur-of-the-moment return, were pleasantly surprised by the refurbishment. The interior is much improved, and we were warmly-welcomed. The snack menu for lunch was exactly what we were looking for - sandwiches etc. - and they proved to be prompt, fresh, nicely garnished and difficult to fault. Maybe a little more expensive than some other local venues, but definitely worth it! We will be returning soon!

Unassuming from the outside, but a truly wonderful welcome awaits! My mum, the dog and I are visiting the area and stumbled across The Blue Boar for a late lunch/early dinner. Kelly is an incredible asset to the pub, nothing was too much trouble and she was so friendly and chatty, she really made our visit special! We are hooked on the Suffolk gooseberry gin she recommended! The food is all home made and tastes fantastic. We shared the prawn cocktail and cheesy mushrooms as starters, and despite claiming how full she was (the dishes are plentiful) my mum polished off her delicious lamb shank! The chicken burger was equally tasty and Lily the dog enjoyed both too! Cointreau coffee for dessert, to finish off a thoroughly wonderful afternoon where we lazed in the sunshine in their spacious beer garden before moving inside to enjoy coffees. Highly recommend this gem of a pub!

Whilst the outside of the pub does not initially feel welcoming, it is so worth taking a step inside. The pub decor is a little tired but this all became insignificant when we were welcomed by the most delightful lady behind the bar who could not do enough for us. We stopped there for lunch and the menu provided some great choices. The bar lady told us the food was all home cooked by the owner. My wife had a home cooked cottage pie which she said was one of the best she had ever eaten. I had ham egg and chips - the ham was off the bone and delicious and the eggs were free range and cooked just right. If you are in the area then this pub is definitely worth a visit.

We waited an age for the food then upon ordering they had run out of the meat we wanted, fair enough it happens. When the meal came they neglected to tell us they had run out of Yorkshire puds too, the vegetables were absolutely cremated, roast potatoes were hollow. It was a late booking it was for sunday lunch at 2.15 even though they were running out of food they still took another telephone order whilst we were there. We wouldn't return.

We were disappointed with the usual place we meet and eat as 2 couples on a monthly basis. One of the group had heard good things about the Blue Boar so we decided to give it a try. We were certainly not disappointed - the interior, staff and food were of the highest order. The staff were very friendly and attentive from start to finish. All had different meals - ribs , lasagne , scampi and breakfast - could not fault any part of any of the meals. Reasonably priced - we will be back again when we have our monthly get together. Well done Blue Boar you were outstanding.

I asked the landlady Becky if she could organise a surprise party for my wife’s 80th birthday for our family and some special friends. Becky and her staff really pushed the boat out with an excellent hot buffet and a special platter of sea food (my wife’s favourite food). The food just kept on coming. The room was decorated with lots of balloons and a large banner and looked fantastic with a large centre piece 80 balloon. Becky excelled herself with what I can only call a magnificent birthday cake which looked and tasted absolutely amazing. There was even a birthday card from Becky and all the staff. The Blue Boar at Walsham le Willows could not have done more to make my wife’s birthday a very special memorable occasion which we will aways remember. Thank you

We walked in and were met with such warmth & friendliness from bar staff, the decor is stunning very classy and cosy. We were shown to our seats by a lovely friendly bar maid, I think her name was Mel, she told us how the Landlady who does all the cooking, cooks it all from scratch including cakes, scones etc. When the meals came out we were blown away, the portions were generous and the food was absolutely delicious. I had to go off menu for my son who is autistic and only likes certain things and wanted only bacon that day and garlic bread, the bar lady & the landlady couldn't have been more helpful and were only to happy to help even though the pub was busy at that point with lots of us having food. The landlady came out after our meals she was so so lovely & so friendly. She made us feel like we were regulars. I can't wait to go back for her famous afternoon teas. We've also heard about her amazing roasts, all meat sourced locally. This is a real gem folks. A beautiful pub in a beautiful location. Certainly worth the travel for all that home cooked food made with love. Highly highly recommended.

Myself, my partner and of course Bobby the English Bulldog went on a Sunday for a roast dinner and we weren't disappointed. I had the roast pork and my partner had the roast beef. Both meals were plentiful with the gravy served in a separate gravy boat so you could choose how much you wanted. Bobby loved the roasts as he was busily scrounging from us. We also had desserts, an apple crumble with custard and a Sundae. Again, very plentiful and enjoyable and again, Bobby was scrounging. The staff were very friendly and even gave Bobby some treats. He certainly ate well. All in all, a lovely meal and we will definitely return.

AVOID - Sunday lunch was terrible. We went to the blue boar with friends we had the beef and the pork. Pub was nearly empty one a Sunday lunch time. We should have recognised the warning signs at that point. The meat was not freshly cooked the beef was pale in colour that would be because it was not freshly cooked and been stored in a fridge, meat served was not hot. On to the pork, not hot two thin slices per person - no crackling and dry. The apple sauce was from a jar was not even two teaspoons full in quantity. The yorkshires were cold and must have come out of the freezer or fridge. The potatoes were hard and were deep fried. The veg was fresh however the cauliflower was a reheat ! The gravy was like dish water all in all I think this is one of the worst Sunday Roasts I have ever received. For over £15 per head I think it is reasonable to expect freshly cooked food. AVOID this pub unless you have money to throw away.

The owner of this place does not have a clue about running a business which includes giving polite, courteous customer service because she has none of these skills! Off hand, flippant and down right rude are skills she is good at. The staff they employ are inexperienced, ignorant and lacking any customer skills also. Asked if they could serve a flat white coffee they responded, “never heard of it” and when we asked what beer they had the waitress said one in a bottle with a red label and one with a blue label. Unbelievable! Overpriced and the food is very mediocre, we cook better and tastier at home. Never go again and would never recommend. Tip for owner, go on a management course to help your inexperienced staff and while there learn some customer service skills.

Why anyone would choose to call a cafe Tickety Boo is beyond me but the food is good and you don't eat the name! Very strange and off-putting style where they take your money before you eat - which meant we didn't order any cake after our meal as we couldn't be bothered to queue and pay all over again. None of the diners I've seen in here look like the type that would run off without paying! Despite this the food really was excellent and I will be back for more.

Our family joined my wife and I to celebrate her birthday at "The Kitchen" on Sunday. The chef offered a choice of three roasts bookable in advance. The food was well presented and delicious, and the waiters were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. This venture is in its infancy and the bar like surroundings could be improved. Good food at good prices. Book in advance as the opening hours are limited.

These folks know how to treat people. Getting in might be a little tough but it is worth the wait.
