By far the best home cooked pub food you could get and for such a good price you’d be daft to eat anywhere else! Staff have always gone the extra mile to cater any needs and requirements ! Highly recommend .

Today we had the most amazing meal here, we had booked for a family meal for 12 of us. The staff were so helpful and friendly, we had family over from Northern Ireland and with some fussy eaters and a toddler in our party the staff were so helpful and accommodating. The food was amazing as always, the hunters chicken was perfect. The desserts were superb!! The galaxy cheesecake was spot on and the brownie melted in the mouth. Thank you all for an amazing family time

From the very friendly and helpful staff, to enjoying a lovely roast (all freshly cooked too) to a lovely atmosphere, has been just amazing today. One of My 7yr old twins has sensory and noise issues and the other has adhd so i am always a little nervous eating out but i was advised on time to book so we arrived on their quieter time, which worked really well for us. The chairs were extremely comfortable and lovely material which went down well with the sensory side. They also had games to play with like dominos which kept my other little one entertained, highly recommend and one of the best places we have been. Food was amazing and even specially made sausages to go with one roast as my little one can be funny about texture of beef or chicken. So thank you!!!

Stopped off for a drink on Sunday. Not my type of pub - seemed very Football focussed with the Ipswich scarves etc and gave the impression that it is sports bar type place but I may be wrong.

Family birthday meal of 17,they went above and beyond,had some late family members that were stuck in traffic,they were very busy but still managed to adjust to us, everything came out piping hot and was delicious, steaks were given 11 out of 10.Compliments to the chef!I'd brought a birthday cake they came out singing and supplied napkins plates and Everybody had a wonderful evening and said how lovely it was to see the pub Thriving.Well done The Chestnut Horse!

We visited The Chestnut horse last night to celebrate a friends birthday. It was lovely to see a thriving & bustling village pub still very much alive! I choose the veggie lasagne, it was delicious. Everyone else's food looked very tasty too. Dispite being a large group the staff & service didn't disappoint. Many thanks A happy customer.

I just popped in as I was passing, and it looked like a nice place to grab a bite to eat. I was very happy with my meal, I didn't have to wait long. The service was very friendly and efficient too. I would recommend it to others - it's a shame I probably won't be passing again as this was a random event of my travels, but it turned out nicely.

First time, staff were all lovely, made you very welcome. Apologised for short wait on food (there was 6 of us) worth the wait, food delicious, hot, plenty. Tasted homemade. Lovely place will return.

Living in a village with a great pub like the Chestnut Horse! On one of probably the busiest days of the year - Mothers' day - there was a friendly welcoming atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble, the food and wine were great and everyone of the staff made us feel welcome and valued. It is a traditional English pub plus so much else - we feel fortunate to have such a great community asset in our village. Back soon!

Went in for lunch with my partner mid week. Absolutely lovely food, home made and very large portions! Food was quick to come out, staff polite and lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

We visited the chestnut horse for a meal before the Soul Project evening being held there , the food was amazing, the service was excellent, we were well looked after by all of the friendly staff members. Soul project were fantastic too. We will definitely be back.

Out for Sunday lunch The roast which was chicken and beef was excellent and the macaroni cheese too. A good choice of deserts, also excellent. The staff are Absolutely fantastic very helpful and friendly, will definitely be eating here again.

Great friendly pub, good choice of beers on draught. Food looks good and is all homemade. Only pop in occasionally while passing by but always welcomed nicely on every visit.

We visited the Chestnut Horse at lunch time. We had a warm welcome from the those there who went out of their way to find us a seat near to an open window (it was a really hot day). I had a steak which was cooked to perfection and for under £20 unusual nowadays, my wife had the chilli which she really liked. Desserts were cook and home made. Overall a lovely experience from start to finish.

Excellent food, cooked to perfection and tasty. Do light bite meals which are smaller portions of the mains and wonderful value. Staff very attentive

First visit to this lovely pub, great comfy chairs and airy dining area. The lady who seared us went the extra mile, explaining the light bite menu and taking our order. She had such a friendly manner and the food was superb. I had the steak and Stilton pie which had melt in the mouth steak and pastry to die for. The dessert of rhubarb crumble was also great. There were extra jugs of gravy and custard which made everything perfect. Even the coffee was delicious. There was plenty of food and at £12 for two courses we will definitely return.

We came here on a Saturday evening for some nice pub food and a drink, and that’s exactly what we got. The food was delicious, hot and fresh with a wide variety to choose from. I had the sausage and onion plait which was lovely. The service was fast and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The toilets were clean and the women’s even stocked sanitary products. I would recommend a visit here any day.

What can I say…. Well at short notice on a rainy Saturday afternoon they managed to fit a family of 17 for lunch…. Couldn’t do enough to make us welcome and bent over backwards to make our experience well worth the visit…. When we ordered and they didn’t have enough on the menu they made sure they could cover with an acceptable alternative…. Couldn’t fault the whole experience from the food to the service…. Would definitely recommend 100% and would definitely return

We were a very large party staying near by and dropped in last minute after the weather ruined our barbecue plans. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We all enjoyed amazing food which all came out at the same time. Great friendly atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

This lovely pub managed to fit us in for a last minute booking (17 of us!). The food was delicious, everyone was served all together and it was all piping hot. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

I chose this pub because I had heard that they offer smaller platters. Recommended by a friend who had also enjoyed a meal there recently. My friend cannot manage a large dinner. We both had homemade chicken and mushroom pie, which was delicious. It came with extra gravy that we didn't have to ask for. Very helpful staff. Lovely surroundings. Very reasonable. We will be back.

Excellent pub really made welcome by pro active friendly hosts, comfortable restaurant area away from the bar means the bar and restaurant each retain there character. The menu was varied with daily specials and everyone enjoyed the food. We throughly enjoyed our family meal and are pleased to recommend this pub.

This is not our local, but we prefer to go here because the service and food are the best in the area. Highly recommended. Try the Sunday lunch, you won't be disappointed.

We went in here for a few drinks and a meal. Service is great and personal, very friendly staff. Food is gorgeous, I went for the Cumberland sausage ring, which was lush. However the pies are great as well. Will get this the next time!

Taken here by friends who had been once before. Really good pub with with friendly staff. Food was first class with excellent steaks. Second visit just as good, Sausage Plait this time, very good.

Roast potatoes hard and appeared to have been deep fried. Re see t of meal good.

Love this friendly village pub, so very glad that my daughter has moved to Gt. Finborough 😁 The Sunday roast we enjoyed was fabulous & love that diners can order a small, medium or large roast - I've not seen this anywhere else. The apple crumble was delicious & apparently my daughter's mint choc cheesecake was 'lush'! Staff are wonderful & can't do enough for you. Excellent service, fabulous food, we'll definitely be back!

My wife and I have just had the good fortune to take her elderly aunt and uncle to the Chestnut Horse for lunch. Beautiful cooked, real homemade roast, with perfect Beef and Pork and proper roast potatoes and loads of veg and gravy Just absolutely...

Full marks for the Seafood Meze, as a takeaway we just added a few salad items and some wine. After a full on busy day we were pleased to have good food without dressing up. Parking at the pub is limited but the is a lay-by just past the pub and a bit further down the road there is a full on car park.
