Took a drive into the countryside looking for somewhere to have a traditional Sunday roast, came across this place and decided to give it a go. We were one of 6 tables in total, so not heaving but other people were in there too. Prices were reasonable, the place was clean but the service… honestly… my 3 pregnancies combined didn’t feel as long as we had to wait for our food to arrive! And I wouldn’t have minded if the food had been fresh but the roast potatoes and parsnips had clearly been reheated and were tough as old boots! We had planned to stay for one of the 3 desserts they offer but by the time the waitress had come back I couldn’t be bothered to wait any longer! I felt like I’d aged 20 years just waiting around for her to notice us! Very average, wouldn’t rush to return.

We were staying in the area over the Easter weekend and booked in for Easter Sunday lunch. Wow. Couldn't have asked for more. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was fantastic. It's hard to explain but the food was like an amazing home cook as opposed to pub food, so tasty and delicious. I had the lamb shank Sunday roast and my partner who is vegetarian had the sweet potato roulade roast. Both were fantastic. Desert was absolutely out of this world, hot cross bun bread and butter pudding and a jam sponge with custard. Great prices too, can't recommend a visit enough if you're in the area, or anywhere nearby. Will definitely come here again as the caravan site we stay at is just 3 miles away.

An impressive building from the outside but inside much of the character has been lost as it has been modernised but nevertheless still interesting architecture. As the result of good write ups we thought we would have an evening meal so we could form our own opinions. The menu wasn't particularly large but the dishes we choose were well prepared and presented and importantly enjoyable. The staff were very pleasant and attentive ensuring all our needs were catered for. A pleasant evening particularly as there was no loud noise something we seem to be sensitive to.

We met here for a family gathering of 15 adults and children on a Sunday lunch time to celebrate a special birthday. We had a very pleasant side room. The pub had a good atmosphere and the staff were all very efficient, helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. We had a very good tomato and basil soup with bread to start, nicely presented. We had chosen from a selection of roast dinners in advance. The portions were huge , the plates hot, the meat delicious and we had a wonderful selection of vegetables all perfectly cooked. The children's portions were generous too. The service was excellent without being fussy. We did not feel rushed although we were there a good while. The children were very happy as there was a very good selection of games and books in the room. Even the selection of children's books had been carefully chosen, quality books in good condition. I thoroughly recommend this community pub and only wish I lived nearer to frequent it more often. What an amazing achievement to have not only saved the village pub but to run it so professionally and well.

Visited on Sunday 13th Sep. Had the beef for my Sunday lunch which it was understood is sourced locally. The beef was, in my opinion, nothing special and therefore left me wondering where the beef was obtained from! Surely not Local? Other than that the meal was fine and so was the bread and butter pudding. I give it an average rating based on my total experience. The two young singers that performed there were vey good and it is worth going to experience them again. The Pub complied very well with Social distancing with staff wearing PPE at all times even though some visitors were not wearing face masks.

What a wonderful find! On our first night in Suffolk went to this community run pub recommended by our hosts. Expecting usual pub food fair but delighted to find a eclectic menu with staples like fish and chips; ham, egg and chips; burger, but also tapas with a good variety of choices. I had fish and chips (delicious) and my companions both had various tapas dishes all of which were delicious, fresh and generous sized portions. Then we had lemon tart and guilt free pavlova for afters which were of course delicious. They even have jelly and ice cream which I didn't see until I'd already ordered! There is a kids menu too. Everything is very reasonably priced and yet the quality is not scrimped on. The decor is very nice, not too twee or ye olde worlde, and the staff lovely. The service was friendly and fast, despite there being a big group there, the ingredients used were top quality and everything was really nicely cooked and all plates were quickly cleared! There is a nice range of local beers to enjoy with the food but as it was a really hot evening I stuck with the Adnams lager which is very good.I’m not sure how regularly it’s organised but there was live music in the garden on the evening we visited which was the perfect end to our evening. There aren’t a lot of good pubs for food in this part of Suffolk these days and I’d highly recommend giving the Duke a visit if you’re in the area.
