The best restaurants in East of England

I visited Little Petra for the first time today with a friend, following multiple recommendations. We booked a table, which is advisable as it gets busy, even on a Tuesday early evening. We had heard the portions are generous so decided to share the mixed meze and marinated chicken. This was plenty of food for two and we couldn't actually finish it. The food was incredibly tasty, with lots of different flavours. The service was good and food arrived pretty quickly, but we didn't feel rushed. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

The milkshakes are very very nice even in the winter ❄️. The staff are super friendly and are always up for a chat. I would definitely recommend.

It's a good village pub adding to the community, with good beer, and a shop.

Great spot for some vegan ice cream/sorbet. My little boy is anaphylactic to dairy and was very cautious about eating any when he was looking at the different flavours (there were 4 for him to choose from). The lady quickly realised he was upset and got some fresh utensils out to reassure him and he gladly accepted it! It's finally nice to know we can take him somewhere and he can join in! We'll definitely be back. Thank you for making an allergy child feel included x

Haven’t been here for a while and forgot how nice it is to have more authentic Indian food that the standard dishes in other restaurants. Midweek visit so not busy, staff attentive and good service. Will definitely not leave it so long until I visit again.

I went here with my other half for the first time and had a lovely meal. No starters, a curry each and shared a side and naan. Not bad food and thought we will come back. That is until the bill came… The total was £81 (I would note written in a different pen to the rest of the bill) so we just went through to check they hadn’t added anything extra on as it did seem quite dear for what we had had. All looked fine. Then we looked at the totals and did a rough count up in our head and thought it couldn’t be right. Now we don’t normally sit going through our bill when we go out to eat as you like to think you can trust it is ok. Sometimes mistakes happen but we can’t see this was a mistake. We ended up being those people who got their phones out to calculate to ensure our mental maths wasn’t failing us and sure enough it totalled £51. We added it 3 times to check. I was giving the staff the benefit of the doubt trying to see that the 5 had just looked like an 8 but it was 100% an 8. Also they had written £81.50 and the bill was in actual fact £51.15 so even the pence was wrong. My other half handed it back and just said “there is a mistake” and with no fuss the waiter took it away and brought it back to us amended to sure enough £51.15 and the waiter just said “you are right.” So all the behaviour alluded to the fact they knew they had tried it on with us. They also couldn’t thank us enough when we left. I was presented with quite a large chocolate bar when the bill came which was quite random and could have been a distraction technique. We got it resolved no fuss or dramas but it’s a shame as the food and atmosphere was nice but it’s not nice to know you are trying to be conned. Just makes us wonder how many other people they’ve done it to who haven’t noticed or questioned it. A 60% mark up is huge!! Sad to say we won’t be going back.

The food was reasonably priced. The food was nice. However, the staff were, rude and disorganised. When you go out for a meal with family and friends, you catch up on lots of things to talk about. Literally six members of staff came to our table asking us what we wanted to order within the first five minutes of arriving. I don’t know what’s on their menu and I’d like to look at their menu but felt pressured in having to choose something because they were literally standing at the table waiting for us and not letting us enjoy our evening. Food was good. Tables were small and cramped. Staff really should consider how they treat their customers. I won’t be coming back which is a pity.

This community run pub is great Friendly helpful staff, great service and delicious food We had a family member with visual impairment and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and supportive, making the meal out an absolute pleasure Very good value for money and great choice of beers and wine

This was our third visit to this great restaurant. Service very welcoming and food delicious as previous visits. I had a chicken shish which was so tasty and very tender. My partner had a kofta which also was delicious. Huge portions. I am sure we will return again

I ordered Chicken Marsala and garlic cheese bread I was not disappointed food was absolutely delicious.

Delicious Italian dishes and desserts. The seafood risotto I had was wonderful. Very friendly staff. Great ambience.

Best lunch deal found on High Street, Burnham ... err, very best lunch deal, upon second thoughts. Attentive Staff, serving customers in an open and airy roominess at a comfortable lounge, not just the ordinary eating house either - to get there you pass the rest to visit the best in town! A great vegetarian breakfast. The staff were very helpful and happy to help. The cafe is dog friendly too I would highly recommend Posh Pigs
