The best restaurants in East of England

This is a lovely cafe/restaurant. Have dined there for lunch, lovely no complaints. However, recently went to the Tapas night. Staff were friendly, atmosphere lovely. How disappointing. Food looked and tasted like it was bought from Iceland(sorry Iceland) and put in the oven or fried. No fresh ingredients used. It was pure carbohydrates. Please if doing tapas... make it authentic and have some healthy options.

So many friends have raved about this restaurant so we decided to try it. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. For a Thai restaurant, I found the menu a little strange. We ordered chicken satay, pork spring rolls, calamari? Portion size was fairly small and i wasn't keen on the spring rolls. Mains We had pork noodles, monk fish, burger and 2 kids meals. Monk fish with sautéed potatoes. The let down was the spuds were just new potatoes and hadn't seen a pan. Pork noodles were my order and the noodles tasted like ones I have at home in the cupboard. I'd expect decent noodles. Burger looked good and son love it. 2 kids meals went down a treat. The bill was in my opinion high for what we received however I've not been out in a while and there is a crisis out there. I personally wouldn't go back however other family members said they would. So I wouldn't recommend it buti wouldn't put you off either, I guess it's down to personal taste.

The curries were nice, with lots of sauce, but they were lacking vegetables and any other items. Just meat in sauce. We also had stale poppadoms, unfortunately.

I love this place - been going with family and friends for years. The food is always excellent, the atmosphere is great, the staff are welcoming and attentive. Had a great time visiting last night, and our waiter Marbs couldn’t have been better. 10/10.

We came here today on our bikes with our 2 year old daughter. The two bar ladies couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating to us. The beer was great and so was the food. We’ll be back!

We use this Indian often! Takeaway & Eat In…..I never leave a review and really should! EVERY SINGLE TIME ITS AMAZING!!! We have never been disappointed ☺️

An excellent meal, we ordered a real selection of dishes and all were equally good. It was very popular and service was very efficient. My advice would be to order courses as you want them as it can feel overwhelming if they arrive at the same time.

Had a few birthday beers here with friends. The staff were lovely, good atmosphere well worth a visit always a pleasure thank you all I will definitely return again.

Terrible arrived 11.45 for lunch not overly busy after being shocked at the price's went up too order as this is the new system 2 people in front lady came out from the kitchen saying to the server I need some help in here then turned to tell us all queuing there will be a 45 minute delay on top of the usual wait time I enquired what is your normal wait time was told 20 to 30 minutes so it will probably be over an hour I said there are lots of empty tables so how can it be so long she replied I don't know just do what I'm told, needless to say we walked out speaking to a gentleman on the table next to us who had eaten his food he said they had waited 45 minutes for 2 sandwiches and a coffee and had asked twice where there food was. We will not return again such a shame was a lovely friendly run restaurant before cannot see this lasting.

Good coffee friendly, efficient, charming staff. Very morish cakes. We'll laid out conversation friendly. Dogs welcomed.

My wife and I regularly eat here for Fish chips etc on a Tuesday or Wednesday which is excellent and great value. We decided with a friend to try the Sunday lunch and seen mixed reviews. Not only the White Lion has the best Fish and chips but the best Sunday lunch it was wonderful and truly delicious I have to give it 11/10. Will we be going back it a YES from us. Loved it ++×

Can not fault this restaurant. Food is amazing!! Great portion sizes, great flavour and the chef was really lovely and happy to cook whatever you wanted (even if not on the menu.) Everyone I went with agreed that it is possibly the best Italian they have had!! The chef and the women serving was lovey, very personal and friendly making the whole experience lovely! Will definitely recommend and be back

4 of us went on Saturday 7 November 24 been several times before and as usual fantastic food/service despite the pub having a party of 30 plus , always at least 3 real ales in barrels and some very nice nice beers on tap. All I can say we'll definitely be back,,, well done the staff at the kings arms

The best chip shop ever. Chicken pieces are gorgeous and the cod mini fillets are so tasty

We visited for a Sunday carvery...was so delicious and staff very friendly... definitely worth to visit 🙂 ...I think the price is fair for such a good food. Thank you so much. We will back there soon for another Sunday carvery. I can say the best carvery in Swaffham. 😊❤️
