So many friends have raved about this restaurant so we decided to try it. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. For a Thai restaurant, I found the menu a little strange. We ordered chicken satay, pork spring rolls, calamari? Portion size was fairly small and i wasn't keen on the spring rolls. Mains We had pork noodles, monk fish, burger and 2 kids meals. Monk fish with sautéed potatoes. The let down was the spuds were just new potatoes and hadn't seen a pan. Pork noodles were my order and the noodles tasted like ones I have at home in the cupboard. I'd expect decent noodles. Burger looked good and son love it. 2 kids meals went down a treat. The bill was in my opinion high for what we received however I've not been out in a while and there is a crisis out there. I personally wouldn't go back however other family members said they would. So I wouldn't recommend it buti wouldn't put you off either, I guess it's down to personal taste.

Told on arrival that it was 'Burger Night', inspite of having booked a few days previously and not having been advised of this. Reluctantly handed the standard menu and ordered what we had looked forward to eating. Food average and overpriced. Also unable to order a glass of red wine of my choice, (inspite of the standard drinks menu which gave a range of choices) - only available was a full bottle of my choice or a glass of Rioja. Wish I'd not wasted my money.

We had a lovely meal. THe venue was not too crowded. I had a Xmas regular meal of Cambodian beef Broth with beef balls, Slow Cooked lambshank with a mild creamy red curry sauce and a n oriental rice pudding. My vegetarian companion had the Spicy smoked salmon salad with Llime, and the vegetarian version of the Panfried turkey fillet follwed by home made Xmas pud. The food was good and the spice level was right. My only commentis that perhaps they should identify any gluten free dishes.

Eight of us attended the new location in the castle Inn. Very polite attentive staff. Food service was great ,nobody had to sit and wait, which is nice as everyone can eat together. Food was so tasty although my sister and niece commented that the pork belly was over cooked and a bit tough. This didn't spoil our over all experience, and we had a lovely time. Thank you.

'The Three Cooks' have now expanded into 'Castles Inn' on Earsham Street. They are currently doing a special Thai curry night on the last Wednesday of the month and we attended this last night. The food exceeded expectations - I can especially recommend the special combination (4 different curry's) which offered a wide range of interesting and contrasting flavours on one plate. The dining area has a 'no frills' feel to it, but the food was very fresh and authentic. Despite the restaurant being full the staff worked hard to ensure quick and efficient service. Great value for money also. Definitely worth a visit.

Wow, what a lovely meal we had at the Three Cooks. I started with home made vegetable soup. My friends had the Chicken Teriyaki. Then I had the Green Cambodian Curry which was superb. I finished with Cambodian rice pudding. You may have noticed that the chef, Chan, is Cambodian - but there is a full range of other dishes too. Service was attentive. If you are in the Bungay area, you must try this place, I'm glad I did.

We visited on a Friday evening after searching for a restaurant near Waveney where we were staying. What a lovely find! The restaurant interior was quirky and the menu had plenty to choose from for a fussy eater like me. The staff were very friendly and efficient and our meal was served in a timely fashion. Both our starters and main dishes were really tasty and the chicken and beef that we had were so tender, probably the best chicken I had ever eaten, and my partner really enjoyed his tender beef dish. The restaurant was really busy, also preparing takeaways whilst serving customers who were dining in.We met Chan as we were leaving and complimented her on her wonderful cooking! A great place for a tasty meal, well worth a visit.

While camping in the area we ate here on a Sunday night. Had a mixture of the starters and then mains from the Cambodian menu. Absolutely amazing food! Between us we tried the green curry, teriyaki tofu, house noodles and the duck. All cooked beautifully and made with a good mix of different vegetables. Couldn't try any dessert as were too full. Our waitress was amazing, as despite being on her own that evening she served and cleared the table incredibly quickly. Would love to go back there if ever in the area again.

It is a shame that a restaurant such as this (unique and unparalleled in it’s endeavour for a menu that suits all) suffers from inexperienced, somewhat clumsy and rather unfriendly staff. This was our first visit as a family. Two of us are fans of oriental food whilst the other two rarely venture into the realm of food beyond steaks and burgers. Therefore, the menu of The Three Cooks appealed to us greatly, promising to cater for everyone. And indeed, they did. The house noodles were excellent, as was the special pork dish. Likewise, the mixed grill was exemplar. We certainly weren’t disappointedly the food and will return again because of this. What really let the experience down was the service. The kitchen must have been understaffed because the table across from us waited over an hour between starters and mains, causing some of them to leave. However I’ll only judge the service based on the one that we received ourselves. Which was, in all fairness, not great. There were three waitresses working; one of which was very nice and friendly. The other two however were not as friendly. One was rather clumsy and split sauce from the mixed grill down my shirt, which in all honesty can be forgiven because everyone makes mistakes. The third waitress however was really quite rude. She made no secret of the fact that she didn’t particularly want to be there and spoke with a straight face, monosyllabically and with a disinterest. Rather disappointing. We asked for our bill and waited over half an hour for it but it never came. Overall a really mixed experience. Utterly outstanding food but really underwhelming service.

I visited The Three Cooks after a few recommendations by friends. We were a bit disappointed by the menu as it was mixed with British food and just looked a bit random. We had the skewers to start, King prawn pad Thai and Lamb curry for main. All of the food was very tasty and there was a lot of it. Apparently the roast dinners (again random) are very very good.

We stumbled on this restaurant as we fancied Thai and the nearby one had shut down - have to say wasn't disappointed - in the end I had the Red Creamy Beef Curry, my husband had the burger and my daughter had the roast dinner. All was excellent. The décor isn't really to my taste but the food more than made up for it, as did the friendly staff. So pleased the local thai restaurant had shut!!!!!

Went for lunch having been told it was good and read some promising trip adviser reviews. Only ourselves and one other couple in the restaurant. 10 minutes after ordering we were told that one of our choices wasn't available- quite a long time really. The replacement "Asian style pork with salad leaf" was OK but salad was mainly sliced carrot and radish. The chicken satay was OK but not inspiring. However, our main was a disaster. We had chosen to share the house special stir-fry. The egg noodles were basically destroyed and stuck to the serving dish. All meat was tough - like it had been refried/reheated - I couldn't see more than two prawns - and the vegetable - it may have been pak choy- was burnt onto the server. This was not a meal cooked by anyone interested in producing good, fresh, locally sourced food. After we complained about our maincourse they reduced its price by half. Even so with drinks the bill was £40.00. Won't be going back.

This was our first visit to The Three Cooks being located in middle territory between us and the friends we were meeting. The restaurant is easy to find in the town centre and what a gem it is! The food was delicious, we had various starters and mains each of which drew favourable comment. Chan O'Neill, the Head Chef, was in the restaurant as we left and we complemented her on the food. Mr O'Neill, the proprietor (and pilot) was also there where, en route to the toilet, you can see his collection of model aircraft showing their evolution as well as some planes he's flown / flies. The Three Cooks is definitely recommended and we'll be back for more.

Went last night for the first time with a group of eight having heard and read how good the food was. We had pre ordered our food to make catering for us easier and had highlighted an allergy on one of the meals. They informed me this was no problem and would be catered for. When the food arrived this was not the case and had to send the meal back twice and on the third time still was not rectified and it appeared they had tried to remove the ingredient by just scraping it off. We also had to wait quite a while for everyone to receive their meal which came out one at a time with a very long gap in between. I did complain about my meal Before we left and was informed that mine was the third complaint that night linked to an allergy request which is quite worrying. In they end they knocked 50% off my meal but I was left feeling quite ill.

Visited on a Thursday evening with friends based upon earlier Trip Advisor reviews. The restaurant is cosy and located in what appears to be a basement so this does restrict the amount of natural light entering the restaurant. Ordered drinks whilst perusing the menu and although a good selection of beers including some local brands are available only bottled beer is sold with no draught offering. Started with garlic bread and spring rolls all of which were very good. This was followed by main courses of chicken, pork belly and Asian style steak with rice, again all good and tasty. We ended the evening with deserts and coffee, the Cambodian Rice Pudding in particular was delicious. Service throughout the meal was very good. My only gripe was being told after spending almost £80 that there would be a 50 pence surcharge for using a card to settle the bill, something I have never experienced in a restaurant before especially considering the level of our spend.

6 members of our family were celebrating a birthday and we had a good time the staff were helpful and polite. The food was delicious my only small complaint was the fact it was noisy but it is party time so fair enough.Overall I strongly reccomend visiting this restaurant.

Second visit and did not disappoint. Lovely food at reasonable prices. Quaint underground setting. Book ahead at busy periods as limited seating.

First time visit, wife booked for us and friends, turned up to be told they were on Christmas menu, we explained that when we booked a month earlier this wasn't mentioned and the couple we were dining with had looked at the normal menu and made their choice already, having seen the xmas menu, they still preferred their original option. The staff quickly checked ingredients and informed us that this would be no problem. The food was excellent, we will definitely return soon.

Not quite certain how to describe this restaurant. The kitchen definately needs an upgraded extraction system, too many kitchen cooking smells heading for the dining area. The back room may not suffer from this problem, but my wife complained of her hair smelling from the cooking as we walked back to the car. I had the pan fried turkey which unfortunately was dry with very little flavour other than the bacon it was wrapped in. The jus and Vegatables were however perfectly cooked and superb flavour. My wife's rump steak was very tough in places and it was a good job the steak knife supplied was very sharp but it was still a struggle to cut. The chef should be aware of the condition of the steak during the trimming and cooking process and it does annoy me when they allow inferior meat to be served at the table. The dessert saved the day, even though the cheese cake was moose with a separate biscuit. It took 2 attempts to get the bill corrected and then an age to get the card machine to work. We were quite pleased to get out.

This restaurant is hidden from general view in the Market Place in Bungay. It's a very quirky building and very cosy. The food was very very good and very reasonably priced. The lady chef produces some very tasty meals, we had a starter and main course each and they all tasted very freshly prepared, this place is well worth a visit. There's oriental food and also English food, we had oriental and it was excellent. The place is very clean and has lots of atmosphere and above all, the food is very very good!

I came here after stopping in the area for work, and I wasn't disappointed. The food has an Asian flair although there are some English dishes. The Teriyaki was amazing and just the right portion size. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also lovely. The service is friendly and welcoming. The table next to me had several of the other dishes and they were all presented well. If I'm back in the area I would come straight back without a second thought. Excellent

It was naturally fairly quiet at lunchtime. Found the building quant but the food superb and friendly staff. The 4 of us had the Cambodian menu though they do cater for other pallets. Would like a larger menu choice but not a problem. Food was hot, well served and delicious, coupled with a reasonable price. Would certainly go again.

Weekday evening - pretty full, but no need to book. Cheerful, mixed-age diners. Colourful design / decoration of interior. No long waits for our food, which was delicious.

Last minute decision early Sunday evening and what a good one. Had the Sunday roast which was really good and bit too much for me (not usually the case) ! Managed to squeeze in a tasty and again very ample plum crumble.Well cooked, friendly service and reasonable price!

We booked the table by phone at the beginning of the week. When we arrived it was obvious the booking hadn't been written down,or if it had,it wasn't in the book for that night. However, a table was found for us. Everything was so hurried though that we felt a bit uncomfortable. The bill arrived even though we hadn't asked for it and we were not asked if we would like desserts until the bill had been put on the table. In and out in one hour. Shame as the main course we had was lovely. If I go again then I will be phoning to confirm the booking.

A rainy Friday lunchtime my daughter and I stopped here for something to eat. Now I am usually one of those people that envies what the other person has ordered. Not on this occasion. In fact, I don't think it would matter what you ordered. This has to be the tastiest food that I have sampled for a long time. The menu caters for most palates and I will definitely be returning for more!

I've stopped here for coffee or tea in the past and have been impressed by the location. St Peter's Hall dates from around 1280 and is a short 10 minute drive from Bungay. It is located in a rural location surrounded by green fields and has its own moat. Its decor is genuine and contains many original period pieces. We booked the hall for a private family celebration and were not disapointed. The restaurant normally closes from January through to early March but opens for private functions and this is one of its strengths. It's ideally suited for such occasions. The food was exceptionally good as was the service. We were made to feel at home and welcome from start to finish. A variety of tastes and diets was catered for. Although we couldn't take advantage of the grounds this is something to savour during the summer months.

Ordered to eat at home - delicious! This was our first time ordering from Easy Tiger, and we can’t wait to order again. When I made the order, Kevin was friendly and very helpful. - picture taken doesn’t do it justice (plated up at home with the wasabi vegetables)
