Popped in here for a quick lunch at the end of our walk, with our lively springer spaniel, who was made very welcome. We found the Kings Arms staff friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed excellent sandwiches, sensibly thick and beautifully fresh bread with loads of filling. We thought they were great value, especially given that they were accompanied by salad, crisps and really lovely coleslaw. They really filled us up. It was only a shame that our holiday accommodation is well over an hour away, so we probably won’t be able to repeat the experience soon. We will definitely recommend the Kings Arms.

The evening menu has not changed since long before Ian Landlord left, years ago. The sirloin is always inedible. We have stopped going there because the food is boring, never varied and often undercooked.

In Norfolk for a night away and a trip to the beach and needed somewhere to eat and primarily watch the rugby. Found the pub on line, rang and booked a table and was extremely pleased. Lovely food (pulled beef chilli was excellent), huge portions and the service from the staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Wish my local was like this (live in South Wales). Friendly atmosphere, great service, dog friendly (never seen as many dogs in one pub at the same time) with treats and water. Food was excellent, best steak and ale pie (home made) I have ever had, lots of tender meat and delicious gravy. Only negative point was that they were setting up the beer festival (massive marquee on the village green in front of the pub) which started on Friday, the day I was driving home! Shame.

So, it’s been a few years since our last visit where the place was outstanding. We visited this week for a Sunday roast, the beef was hard dry and had a Lacey texture. The entire meal had a strange taste to it and the chipolates we ordered as a side where hard and awful. Such a shame that a lovely pub which used to have outstanding food has gone so down hill. We felt really sorry for the lovely waitress

Very friendly old pub with dining, owned by the community and serving great real ales and home made food - including excellent pies! Three dining areas, including bar area and two dining rooms plus a large outdoor space for warmer months. We had delicious garlic prawns for starters, steak and ale pies, one of our party also had fish and chips which was equally really good. The desert menu is very impressive! 14 different home-made puds, big selection of sorbets and ice creams and a cheese board. Treacle Tart and Lemon Drizzle Tart were both super. Log fires and friendly vibe, great value for money too.

2nd time we’ve visited, and 2nd time strange drinks have appeared on our bill - strange .. do non-locals get to buy the locals a drink without being asked, or is it just poor ‘tab management’ ? Otherwise, pies with decent amount of meat, though not much veg. to accompany. Decent service, though claimed to be busy, but all we could see was one more table. Morale of story - check your bill, carefully

A valentines meal was pre-booked for 7 pm We arrived at 6-45 to be seated at our table with drinks . My husband ordered the scallops, I didn’t have a stater as I wanted to wait for my main course which was on the valentines menu ribeye steak. I was then told by a member off staff , the rib eye had gone I could have sirloin which I said ok that’s fine.. My husband finished his starter by 7-15 We waited for 1 and a half hours before I said where are our meals , a friendly lady said sorry but they had run out of hollandaise sauce for my husbands dish. We waited another half hour, 2 hours from our table booking and I hadn’t been offered anything , before we said this has spoilt our valentines and went to pay . There was no recompense from them what so ever. We paid for our drinks and the starter , then said to the staff ( not their fault) this is not acceptable. We would not like this to happen to anyone else . We had just been forgotten .

Visited during a recent family holiday. We selected based upon previous reviews and for the fact it was dog friendly. Staff all seemed very friendly and everyone enjoyed the food. It did take quite a while to arrive but I think that is because it is all cooked fresh to order. Overall a good experience and I would recommend. I dropped 1 star because of a few little niggles which was the speed of service, the area for dogs was by the back door and it was a little drafty and it did seem a little over priced for a midweek lunch menu. Having said that, these were just minor and did not a massive impact on an otherwise positive experience.

Lots of good things here including the fact that the pub/restaurant is community owned which prevented its closure. We were a party of four with one Coeliac who required gluten free food. The fish stew was excellent although they did originally serve the gf portion with a normal bread roll. They put this right by not just removing the roll but by re-serving on completely new crockery to avoid any cross contamination. The drinks and meals all got good comments from the other diners.

Very friendly welcome on drifting into the pub and a welcome sight of gravity fed real ale being kept cool and quaffable! It encouraged us to stay for an evening meal. I started with caution and had some steak and chips after a mixed fried fish starter, but concluded that it was both well cooked and well presented and that with the aforementioned beer it would be worth a return. The next night involve a blue cheese salad followed by some salmon; too big for me but very well cooked. If staying in Shouldham this is the place to eat (and drink); realistically two consecutive nights of eating is probably the limit. The menu is not huge, which I think is a good thing-and there are specials and the beer is good and there are gins so sorry its up to you-just get prepared!

Had lunch today at this lovely pub. Good value, great enthusiastic team who made for a lovely ambiance. The food was excellent and the selection of gin’s and the gin and tonics were superb. My husband is a beer drinker and he said the beer was equally excellent. Dog friendly, great beer garden and lovely local walks at Shouldham Warren. This is definitely on our list now as a regular place to eat. The pub does music on a Friday in July and various other events during the year which we shall be looking out for. Well done all the team!

4 of us had lunch today in this dog friendly pub. 3 of us had the delicious vegetarian pie with so many side vegetables that we barely made a 'dent' in them. My husband's lamb roast was also delicious he said. The staff we really friendly and efficient and the whole experience was great. A lovely community pub.

Just had another wonderful evening at this pub, excellent food and staff, as always. Never written a review before but thought I should after tonight, I am vegan and my husband and I have visited here a few times now and the staff always remember us and the chef always prepares something especially for me. My food tonight was exceptionally good, tempura vegetables, wonderful sweet chilli dip, pasta with vegetables, olives and sun dried tomatoes, devine chocolate pudding, cherries and vegan ice cream. Wonderful. The rest of our party had fabulous food too, everything was perfect. Staff as always very friendly, chatty and helpful. Will definitely visit again. Many thanks to all the staff.

Ate here on a Friday evening, but managed to get a table as we arrived early (hadn't booked). Being a Friday would suggest that you do book as it did busy up. Good choice of foods on the menu, plus specials. Pies a speciality.

We had just checked in at a house locally for a few days. This was a birthday weekend with family. The homeowner recommended this pub and we weren’t disappointed. Everybody had Sunday roasts, followed by a range of traditional deserts. Very tasty, decent price and if you are in the area, drop in and enjoy! Service was nice and friendly too.

As regular customers for lunch on Saturdays my partner and I have noticed that the service has got worse. If the owner isn’t there, the young staff who despite doing their best, leave customers for ages before taking orders and don’t notice when customers need them. Today we received our beers but no glasses, then we waited 50 mins for 2 basic mains and a side dish, they came followed by our cutlery. The food is good and the staff are lovely but it’s clear there weren’t enough doing front of house and probably the kitchen, as we weren’t alone waiting ages today. We want to support it as an independent restaurant but the really slow service is putting us off.

Everyone should go here just for the milkshakes. We even had an extra milkshake instead of dessert because they are soooo good. Rayna May was a friendly, efficient, knowledgeable waitress. The place was really clean and comfortable. The food was very reasonably priced. My salad was amazing, my friend really enjoyed her burger and did I mention the milkshakes 🤣🤣🤣

We decided to have our wedding reception here and Emily was amazing from the very 1st time we spoke with her and all the way through to the big day Nothing was too much trouble we had a couple of people with dietary needs and these were catered for with ease Then the big day arrived where Emily's other half Richard took over with the cooking and omg he done us proud , feedback from all the guests was positive 100% Massive thank you to you both and your staff for making it happen
