Carousel Cafe in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Everyone should go here just for the milkshakes. We even had an extra milkshake instead of dessert because they are soooo good. Rayna May was a friendly, efficient, knowledgeable waitress. The place was really clean and comfortable. The food was very reasonably priced. My salad was amazing, my friend really enjoyed her burger and did I mention the milkshakes 🤣🤣🤣

I called in here recently and well i was very pleased with the service and meal as both were excellent I sure would call in again if i was in the area at a lunchtime. The only thing that did disapoint was the fact that like a lot of resturants the staff never asked if you would like a desert and consequently loose out on extra money going in the till.

Booked our table for family birthday breakfast. This is the first time we’ve been and all six of us were really impressed. The food was so good, service friendly and I can highly recommend eating here.

Had a great meal on Tuesday it was a free (competition win ) was met by a very friendly lady who show us to a table meal was all freshly made no complaints from hubby , I had the jacket potato with homemade chilli side salad and cheese it was so nice ,hubby also had a side of onion rings they are homemade as well they were lovely and crispy we were looking for different places to have a lunch this is now on our list

Still a nice place to visit for an meal. I normally pop in when we are shopping in the area. The priceless are reasonable and the food is good.

Absolutely outstanding food and service as always. Love this place and the team there are always engaged and switched with nothing too much trouble for them. We come here at least twice a week and it never disappoints

We ere never dissapointed when we come here, brought my dad down to visit and he cannot get enough of carousel to! Hands down the only cafe we will go, really good portions, waitresses work really hard, manager takes the time to come out and talk to people, thank you so much! Compliments to the chefs also

The Carousel was always a dependable spot to get a meal or a coffee with friends. I was impressed with the change in layout to hot plate service. I went with my mother for coffee but ended up having a late breakfast because it looked so good.Service was excellent and friendly.I was delighted and the bill was a pleasant surprised.I can thoroughly recommend if you’re looking for a good meal at a good price and with great service.

Disappointing first visit since last year. Always used to come here when I visit my mum as we love the breakfasts, was always one of our fav places. Unfortunately we ate here this morning and it’s changed not for the good. Gone from table service to buffet style where you go up to the counter. Long wait times between each table being told to go up to get their food with some people trying to get the attention of staff as been waiting for so long or no one there to serve. The bacon was so cold and hard, must have been cooked about 2 hours previous so couldn’t eat it. Same with the eggs. If you are going to do a department store style buffet counter, then you need to be putting out hot fresh breakfast items regularly and eggs surely should be cooked to order. This just simply doesn’t work and unfortunately as lots of us family members who used to frequent this cafe, we will find an alternate place for breakfast. Shame really..

The roast dinners from these lovely people are nothing short of outstanding. Ultimate Sunday roast tastes delivered to your door with no washing up after. What more could you ask for on a Sunday afternoon x

First visit for a while but well worth the trip. Due to Covid the measures in place here are great. We felt so safe from the start. The range of meals was wide and will cater for most tastes. Service was first class and the meals we had were exquisite.

As per usual with The Carousel, the food here is really good and you don't have to wait long for it. Prices are reasonable for the size of the portions.

Visited today and as the title suggests I finally got my breakfast with a proper butchers sausage... thank you carousel... you have now earned your 5 stars!! Keep it up and stay safe xxx

A local associated recommended going to Carousel for a business meeting around Shrove Tuesday and he couldnt have been more right. However, it wasnt just the huge portions, great fillings and attentive service, all in a very pleasant diner atmosphere (for much less than those horrible international chains!) but also something else.One of the staff and the manager went above and beyond the call of duty sorting out and issue with parking that we had. What they did over several weeks and on the day showed these guys understand being a great eatery is not just about the food but also about showing customers quite how much you appreciate them. We'll be back next time we are in town for sure.

My family just had a Sunday roast dinner Takeaway it was very good and well on time, i would recommend this to all who wants a roast dinner Takeaway.

A group of us dined here before Christmas.Portion sizes were enormous ! Great for some people with large appetites, off putting for those of us with smaller appetites. No fish dish available, nor fresh lemon for drinks.Would imagine many of the dishes served (apart from breakfast) are pre cooked and frozen for later use. No way could each dish we ordered have been freshly prepared and cooked.That said, understand the appeal of a place like this, just not for us.

Visited for an a mid morning breakfast. Staff very friendly and welcoming. You can choose we’re you sit, and once seated the staff come and take your order.I choose the bacon, sausage and egg muffin and my wife had the bacon and cheese omelette. Both nicely presented on the plate, and my muffin was very nice. I tried my wife omelette and this was very nice too.Prices mid range.Restaurant clean and tidy.

Always used to love coming here but the last couple of times it’s been different. Seems grubby now - tables and menus sticky and the the whole place just seems a little less cared for.The food is still good, although the portion sizes seem to have got smaller. Not sure about the breakfasts, but certainly the evening portions have reduced.Service wise, the staff don’t seem as friendly. Nothing bad, just not talkative or as welcoming.So, I’m not sure what’s happened but compared to 12 months ago, it’s definitely different.

Carousel breakfasts are consistently great. The service is brilliant and it's a fab café environment. If I could only choose 1 place to go for breakfast for the rest of my life, it would be Carousel. Love it.

I had the full English, and it was amongst the best I've had this year, the black pudding was particularly nice. However, it was let down by god awful coffee. Think battery acid coupled with tears of disappointment.

Taken to this cafe by my cousins who live in kings Lynn, could not wish for better service by cheerful polite staff. Well filled plates of good quality food at more than reasonable prices. Good selection on menu so something to suit everyone and two main meals for £15 was good value for money..

What more could you want,fab food friendly staff,also deliver roast dinners 😂😆 which has gotta be a must after a night out,prices are good.friends,family all welcome

Passing by & Called in for late breakfast - was busy but our meals were served quickly considering cooked to order - real home cooking - delicious! vegetarian options given so my daughter was happy with her menu choice! Very pleasant staff too - would highly recommend without question!

Great variety of big breakfasts and also jacket potatoes etc. Near Wickes DIY and also good charity shops.

The cabbie taking us home late the previous night recommended the Carousel.

Found this place when shopping out of town. Place is situated in the shipping center car park so no issues parking. Nice sectioned off outside seating area and plenty of comfortable seating inside. Great menu of simple British food. A posh drivers cafe if you like. The staff are very polite and helpful and the food is absolutely great. Cooked just so well, I enjoyed every mouthful. I gave 5***** because I liked everything including the prices.

Its bow been 5 years since I started visiting the Carousel for food and drink and every time it's been amazing. Value for money, friendly staff excellent meat quality and nice atmosphere makes every visit a good one. Since the takeover by Daren and Sally I can honestly say that the staff are far more efficient happy and helpful well done to all involved.

First time visit. Friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent food for the value. Highly recommended. Well worth it,definitely going back soon. Can't wait.

If your looking for a friendly cafe with a relaxed but professional atmosphere then visit this little gem! Came in with my husband and 2 children nothing was to much trouble for the young lady serving us and food was great value for money we will be back

If you want food served by staff who constantly play with their hair and blow their nose without washing their hands first then this is the place for you. If they openly disregard food hygiene guidelines in public then what are they like behind the scenes in the kitchen and toilet? Speaking of the kitchen a group of three people, one of which was a child came out of the kitchen, then sat at a table waiting to be served. This establishment has definitely gone downhill and is not worth the overpriced food they serve, £3.95 for a bacon sandwich. We will not be returning and I would advise others to boycott until they can prove they are worthy of being 4th best place to eat in Kings Lynn. A road side cafe has better hygiene.

We stop off once a year en-route to our holiday and not yet disappointed. The full English is great value for money, you get a really filling plate of food with a steaming hot mug of tea. Staff friendly too, would recommend a visit, main means look good too. See you next year!

Popped in for some breakfast on a Sunday morning. Sat there like a lemon for around 15 minutes, place was not busy no acknowledgment from staff on duty who completely ignored me. Not putting up any longer, got up and worked out. Won’t be going back. To this cafe.

Sign of a great cafe is that ifs always busy and always got a few trades people in, loved place when I ate meat and since going vegan a year ago still love it for ”sausage sandwiches and hashbrowns”

Everything about the carousel is really well thought out. The seating arrangement and quality, the decor right down to the quality of the menu cards. For a cafe the the menu itself was really good in variety. The only minus was I thought the taking of our order was a tad slow (sorry sounds a bit picky). However, once taken the food itself arrived pretty quickly. It was well presented and cant fault the quality of the ingredients used. Very tasty

Always yummy here and very good value. I love popping in for a baguette and the lids love the milkshakes. Service is always friendly.

After hearing such good things about the Carousel cafe we were looking forward to our first breakfast here. Even walking up to the door and entering the stale greasy smell was really unpleasant. We still thought we’d give it a go and ordered the full English breakfast. When it arrived it was swimming in oil. Bacon undercooked, soggy hash brown and a mass of tinned tomatoes plopped on. The tea was like hot milk but coffee good.

We were so excited to try out this cafe and we were not disappointed! The Super English Breakfasts were just that - SUPER. The portions were wonderfully large and the staff was so friendly and accommodating! We left feeling full and happy It was a great fit for our party of 6, a mix of locals and visitors from USA.

Awful manager short ginger guy sweating his guts out and he was not even doing anything ! Asked for more ketchup he could not even get up of his bottom and get it . I will not go back . To unfit to get of chair and go kitchen for me

Food was warm rather than hot. Waitress was polite and friendly, management was rude,offensive and not very cheery. Seems to have changed a lot since my last visit, shame as I used to enjoy my visits.

Came in for a light lunch and as always, it was delicious. Ordered a butterscotch milkshake too and that was to die for! Staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to help. Always love coming in to visit!

New Owners took over and cleaned the place and changed the menu it's now a great place to eat and very good milkshakes keep it up

Cheap place to eat and friendly staff. You do smell very greasy when you leave which is a down point. But the food is good

I went into carousel today for a roast dinner with my husband the staff were very friendly Vikki and Dayna were polite and professional' very friendly . The roast dinner was amazing and so was my freakshake that was made by Dayna. Highly recommended will be going again

This won't be one of my best or indepth reviews but I feel like this needs to be noted: The milkshakes here are amazing!!! If you go for nothing else but this, you will be so happy! (Not for the dairy intolerant though)

This is a lovely little restaurant/cafe. Atmosphere inside is calm and welcoming, with a little hint of fairground history, as the restaurant is on the site of the old Savages Factory where carousel horses used to be made for the fair. I love that they have kept a little bit of history alive in the name.

I loved eating here.The staff were great and so was the food,but the last couple of times I have been there its not been as good.sorry guys but I wont be back.what was a great place to eat has changed and not for the better.

I've been here several time and always had a good meal, this time it was breakfast, they offer several variations on a full English breakfast, there were a couple of items like black putting which I dislike but they always ask if you would like another item instead

We popped into the Carousel cafe for a breakfast/lunch and I had a delicious chicken burger and chips. It was very very nice. I would recommend the chicken burger when next in the Carousel cafe. Will defently return!!! :)

We met friends here for brunch. The café was clean and tidy. The staff were excellent attentive et cetera. The food was mainly frie so not for a person on a strict diet however it was freshly cooked and it was very good. The portions were generous. The ambience was very pleasant.

So before we head back to Manchester, we thought we would go to the Carousel for our breakfast and have to say I was definitely NOT disappointed. It has a good menu which covers the whole day, buy we had breakfast. I had a full English which was amazing and well presented. On the menu the had a breakfast called "The Guvnr" OMG 6 bacon, 4 sausage, eggs, beans, tomatoes, hash browns, black pud, chips and mushrooms, it is mahoosive.

I asked around if anyone could recommend a decent cafe, and this was the one I was told about. It did not disappoint at all. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was first class and cooked to perfection. I'm relocating to the area shortly, and this will become my new local cafe. They even do Sunday Dinner.... So they'll definitely be seeing me again that's for sure.

Been to the Carousel a few times and always a great meal, The Guvnor is the best breakfast around you can’t beat it, great seating arrangement and a warm welcome, Always one place I look forward to going to.

Me & my daughter came to the cafe today for some lunch.

My partner and i arrived to see the place empty. First thought was 'great we'll be served quicker as we're starving.' In hindsight it should have set alarm bells ringing. Food wasnt wonderful. I had a simple burger and chips and I've had much nicer from a well known worldwide chain. I wasnt impressed when i bit into it to find it was medium cooked. I know some places think this is the gourmet way to cook a burger but im certainly not prepared to eat it like that, especially when i was 4 months pregnant at the time. The diet coke had a funny taste to it (not a pregnancy thing, even my partner tasted it and he said it wasnt right), so that was left as well. It'd been a long day and just wanted to go home and didnt bother raising any of these issues with staff as i already felt like we were interrupting their conversation when we walked in. You can tell when theres a 'cant be ar*ed' attitude among staff so didnt have it in me to argue with a teenager. Waste of money.

Visited today. Very busy as always on a Sunday. More time needs to be spent on cleaning. The floor was a mess needs some one to sweep in between customers.

Visited before doing our weekly shop do the best milk shakes and coke floats that I have had for ages.

We come here all the time and no wonder why staff are amazing, food is absolutely banging, they are certainly NOT tight on their portions either always a lovely hefty amount on your plate we are never disappointed coming here, and there millshakes are to DIE FOR!

Not the best place. Was told by waitress to hurry up and order. Used to be a decent cafe. The waitress said if we didn't order drinks then we would have to wait because she had a meeting to be at.!

Visited 3 times since new ownership and I am very delighted! New decor and staff! Very friendly with great food! Breakfast is top nosh... Chicken and mushroom pie is out of this world. Happy place with a happy customer.

Sometimes you need a fry up AND chips on the same plate. Thankfully this place provides that in your hungriest hour of need. The go to place for cooked breakfast.

Visit about once a month, today's visit I found it had been taken over, had a full refurbishment to freshen it up, staff attentive, very clean. Food always good, however, my full English breakfast no longer has a quality sausage but the cheaper pink variety. Would have been five stars otherwise. I do hope they go back to local good quality meat.

My wife and I visit this place maybe once every couple of months. It never disappoints!

Stopped here just now for lunch. Nic was absolutely lovely. Friendly from the moment we walked in and even convinced us to have a smarties cheesecake, which we didn’t regret. Mains were tasty, I had sweet chilli chicken and chips. Love the refit, keep up the great work all.

Shan't be going to Carousel again. RIP OFF is all i can say. £12.20 for ONE Bacon Brie & Cranberry Paninni and ONE Toasted ham and cheese sandwich. Never bothered bringing us 2 teas that we ordered then tried to charge for them. Not impressed with the prices at all. Cheaper to have a full breakfast each. Disgusted isn't the word but safe to say shan't return again.

Took my family here a few months ago and found it to be overpriced and in a small venue. Unable to take a pushchair in and sit comfortably.

My partner and I are first timers for this restaurant. The waitress (Hayley) was amazing and very polite. Very pleased with everything.
