Poor service, unorganised staff, food okay butt nothing special considering the price changed. We have experienced much better elsewhere at a lot less cost and unfortunately wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Amazing Xmas dinner & pudding. Cooked to perfection, absolutely delicious. Fantastic relaxing atmosphere. Lovely place. We’ll brr we back!

The roast was amazing! The best roast I've eaten in a long while, everything was fresh and homemade the desserts were gorgeous too. Lovely attentive hosts I would highly recommend The Station Bar.

Great find. On holiday locally and went for a meal Saturday night. Pre booked food, good menu. Food was excellent as was the service. Cooked fresh whilst we waited. James and Dianne were great hosts. Chatted to us made sure we were happy at all times.

A warm welcome and a fabulous Sunday roast. The best part is if you have people in your party with different appetites you can choose the amount that you want to eat and the type of meat. Brilliant!

Me and my boyfriend enjoyed a lovely Sunday carvery. Right from when we got into the bar, the staff were lovely and welcoming. Even when other people were being quite loud on the table next to us, they asked if they were being too noisy for us (they weren’t and we were fine, but it was nice of staff to be so considerate and ask us). I called and booked the day before and was told it was a ‘half carvery’ this Sunday,. This meant you have your meat, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings served for you and then you serve your own vegetables and gravy. Despite this, we were asked if we wanted more of anything as they served so it’s still as much food as you would like. The choices of meat today were turkey and beef, we had both and they were lovely. The vegetables on offer were peas and carrots, which we were happy with but I can understand that some people may like more options. We also had dessert, I had treacle pudding and custard and my boyfriend had apple crumble and ice cream. Both desserts were very nice. We both really enjoyed our afternoon and for both meals, desserts and 4 off drinks between us the bill came to around £55 which we think was well worth it for the food and drink we had I definitely recommend if you are in the area and we will be visiting again.

Easter Sunday 2023 Carvery Table for 5 family gathering, the carvery is different to what we all were expecting as the proprietor explained that there were 3 roasted meats - beef, pork, turkey then asked if we would like a slice of one or all three meats, a Yorkshire pudding and the vegetables all served through a hatch then help your self to heated container of gravy sauces which was placed on a table in the dining area. We have never been to a ‘carvery’ like that before. However, everything was cooked well but we all found the vegetables a little on the cool side. Again the sweets were magnificent and well presented, two steps up to the toilet. Plenty of parking to the side of the pub. The interior of the pub is very ‘bijou’ so it is understandable why the carvery must be served the way it is so all credit to the owner for making it work.

We’ve eaten her several times. It really is good value for money. The meals are all cooked fresh and any extras/things you don’t like are adapted to suit your needs. Very lovely family running this place. Just a shame it’s not open throughout the week. Good Norfolk ale too.

We camped up the way from the pub and went for Sunday lunch. We were made to feel very welcome and had an excellent lunch at a reasonable price. We wondered whether the Chardonnay was oaked so the landlord gave us a taster of it and the Pinot so we could decide which we’d like - typical of all the service here (it wasn’t oaked). The landlord and all the staff made us feel like locals - had a great time.

Visited this pub with my family when the place we were hoping to go to was fully booked. What a fantastic decision! Our whole experience was first class from beginning to end. When we rang to book a table, the menu was then texted to us and we were asked to let them know our selections by 5pm. What a great idea! Not sure why we’ve never come across this at any other establishments as it means you can make your selections without rushing and also know that your food is going to be ready for you. The menu is reasonably small, but in my mind, that often means that it’s going to be good as the kitchen doesn’t have to stretch themselves too far. And the food, well, it was truly outstanding. Amongst our party of four we had all four starters and they were all amazing. For the main course two of us had the rack of ribs, which had fantastic flavour and just fell off the bone, and the other two had the sweet chilli salmon and chicken each. Again, all top quality food. The desserts could be chosen from a menu, again we had four different ones, and again, all excellent quality. The service was top notch as well. Everybody we dealt with were all extremely friendly and courteous and nothing seemed too much trouble. All in all, the fact that our first choice was fully booked did us a favour as we will definitely be visiting this pub again many times in the future!

Top notch! What a fabulous little place. We were very kindly fitted in for a late roast dinner to celebrate my sons 6th birthday. We are on holiday so have no idea what places are like up here. The Trip Advisor reviews were all good - and they weren’t wrong!!! The roasts were fabulous (good roasts are SO hard to find) and the hosts so kind and accommodating. I would thoroughly recommend this place.

We have just moved to Swaffham and have been on the lookout for a good Sunday roast and i think we have found the perfect place. This owners and staff were brilliant and explained everything perfectly the food was brilliant and very filling so well...

They fitted us in on a Sunday night even though they close early on Sundays. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. The owners friendly and service excellent. Recommended.

Great meal. Even though no kids menu they were happt to adjust adult menu to accommodate the three children. Four adults had great food and could tell all cooked fresh. Steaks were amazing and cooked to exactly how we ordered. Kids whoofed their food down...

You won't find a better burger than the hand made home cooked style burgers that are avalable on the stations menu ... we have visited a couple of times over the past few weeks and opted for the chilli burgers ... toasted buns wrapped around a hand made burger with fresh chillies onion rings ...... yummy The stations service and food out shines all of the flash themed chained restaurants :)

Although recommended we didn't expect this to be so good. A small menu but excellently cooked and presented. My sea bass was really good and my husband said his burger was the best he'd had in ages. A couple of glasses of Merlot went down well too. Nice, friendly staff who made us very welcome and understood my need for gluten free food. I also liked being able to see what was going on in the kitchen and watching the chef and his assistant calmly putting the meals together. Booking is recommended.

Don’t be fooled by the subdued ambience.. the food is anything but! We went there for dinner on the back of the trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. Great food & excellent deserts also :) worth visiting!

Booked for a family Sunday lunch based on TA reviews and it didn’t disappoint. Table for 7 with mixed age range . The carvery Sunday lunch was amongst the best I’ve had / home cooked good quality through and through. Huge portions , meat was excellent as was the vegetables. Desserts were again all home cooked and tasted amazing! The staff and management were friendly and service efficient: relaxed atmosphere and all throughly enjoyed the get together.Can’t recommend enough if you’re looking for a great Sunday carvery in Swaffham .

This was probably the best pub food we've had in years (and definitely the warmest welcome). Me, my dad and my 18 month old toddler popped in for Saturday lunch to meet some friends whilst we were on holiday. Great plan - except they didn't open for food on saturdays until 4pm. Usually this would have triggered a mad dash to get some decent food before the little one - not this time. They offered to make us some food, specially, from their usual menu. I had a very child friendly scampi and chips (shared with the toddler) - but everyone else's meals were a bit more adventurous. Some amazing ribs, a spicy burger and more. The chef even popped out to check our preferences (useful as one of our group was able to tailor her salad). Everyone's meals were fantastic - and we even stayed for dessert. They were kind enough to give our toddler a complimentary scoop of ice cream with some strawberries, meaning I got to eat the whole of my lemon dessert to myself (which was luxurious and refreshing). The whole experience allowed us all to relax, enjoy the company of friends and feel well looked after. Thank you!

We needed a halfway point between near Petersborough and Great Yarmouth to have a meet with friends and chose Swaffham, and this place was top-rated on TripAdvisor. We didn't read all the details of the place so didn't see that they serve food from 4pm, but we turned up there at noon, hungry. The couple running the pub said that wouldn't be a problem, that they would cook us something anyway. While we were waiting for half the party to turn up, they landlord and landlady ensured we had their friendliness and warmth. When it came time to food, we were not disappointed. The meals were huge, delicious, and moerish. The desserts were so big, you could have worn them as hats, but I am glad I didn't as they were scrumptious. I couldn't fault the food or service, my only niggle was that the temperature of the pub was a bit on the cold side, but have no complaints and would go back there again.

Literally just got home from a lovely meal here with my partner. I had vege option which was amazing fresh cooked cheese leek pastry dish and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. We were asked if there were any food allergies, got a pick of where we could sit and met one of the locals who we had a pint with and chat! Very nice clean and fresh feel to pub. Lovely lady running the bar who made sure we were ok the whole time we were there. Nice chef as well who we met. Will definitely come here again thankyou so much for a wonderful experience.

Have had a couple of evening meals in the past but this was our first experience of the a Sunday Carvery. From walking through the door engaging with the staff, through to paying the bill was a pleasure. Service prompt, polite...more like speaking with a friend. We don't know Swaffham and came here purely on Tripadvisor recommendation. We came to shelter for a couple of hours during a long day in the sun. It was a long hot walk down a dull street, away from town, and our spirits were sinking. Being inside for a carvery seemed a very bad idea!

Just returned from another great dining experience. The food & the staff are first class. My ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, and the duck spring rolls for a starter were great. My wife had the mozzarella for a starter followed by the scampi which she said was brilliant. The staff & the chef were very attentive, kind and friendly. Definitely going again.

We were looking for Sunday lunch on the way home after a weekend away - the photos show this pub as a nice shade of blue and quite welcoming - when we got outside it looks completely different to the point that I was prepared to walk in and out if the inside was anything as unkempt as the outside.

…..returned about 3 weeks after our first visit and again was not disappointed. Chatted with some very nice and friendly locals all the while in a very relaxed and comfortable environment. Once again food & service was first class and hope that we will be back again in the near future. Thank you.

Called in Saturday evening (27/4)…..first impression what a lovely homely cosy establishment. Then a very warm and friendly greeting by the hosts who we found we had a little in common and so made the evening an even more comforting experience. Beer and drinks of good quality. However the food was absolutely first class. Starter and main (to full for afters) was wonderful, we both left cleaned plates !!. Will definitely be back and hope it to be in a couple of weeks.

visited the station bar for our works Christmas meal ,lovely homely venue ,unpretentious and good value for money .Bar laid out 2 large tables for our use at one end of the venue.Food was served promptly ,was all served together by excellent and attentive staff. All 3 courses could not be faulted ,even when some members of our party could not finish their generous ,the staff wrapped the remainder for them to take home , we will definitely visit again , highly recommended.

Had our company Christmas meal here on a busy Friday evening, The food was fantastic all 3 courses. Considering the amount of people eating all food was very hot when it arrived. Real roast potatoes and Turkey. The Pavlova was to die for. We will definitely be returning very soon

Staff were all excellent and the food was very good, I would recommend that you give this carvery a try. Yorkshire puddings home made and cooked to order. Meat was excellent and veg lovely. Very clean and service excellent. The roast potatoes were crispy which is unusual with most carveries not achieving this. The meringue was homemade and delicious. Only very minor negative was that the plates were not warmed which cooled the food a little.

Staying in nearby West Lexham, we fancied finding somewhere fairly close by for dinner on the first evening, so I had a quick scout on Trip Advisor whilst we were on the road and turns out we were literally a stones throw away from here, at the Tesco next door - so we popped in and very glad we did!

Another great carvery. Good service by staff and very tasty food. Its all been said before, however, its great to confirm that the Station Bar is maintaining its #1 position in Swaffham. Great tasting Pavlova to follow, with coffee refills.

My aunt took us for a carvery as she had been before but we were very disappointed. She said that it was not as good as when they first opened. We were surprised that there were no baby boiled potatoes or parsnips. Very limited selection of veg. Most carveries have at least six or seven. The beef looked very grey and the person carving was pouring clear liquid over it. Haven't a clue what this was. Not as good as other carveries in the town. It was also more expensive.

Turned up late on a Sunday afternoon - 4 kids and 2 adults without a booking. Received outstanding service to create some kid friendly choices from bar menu. Food was delicious. Highly recommend this pub.

Simple, clean, unassuming little bar. Cover for about 50 at full stretch. Friendly, helpful, pleasant land lord and staff. Excellent food, freshly cooked on premises. And a clean kitchen on view to the public. Highly recommended.

first visit here booked a table for 3 arrived early warm welcome and excellent service received. The meal was delicious wide range if vegetables and tasty gravy.We didn't think we would have room for desserts....we did the Pavlova and lemon blossom were both enjoyed and plates cleared by all,followed by coffee.

We went here as it was no 1 on Trip Advisor in Swaffham. It was VERY quiet when we went (day after England lost to Croatia!). The couple running the bar/restaurant were very friendly and went out of their way to serve the meal however we wanted it plus their own recommendations. Large portions so good value and drinks fair price too.

A month ago we tried this restaurant for the first time and loved it. The staff were welcoming and there was a good choice of main courses for vegetarians. The chef talked to us about other options he could do for us apart from those already on the menu.We returned last week and were greeted in a very friendly way. I tried a second option from the vegetarian mains and enjoyed a thoroughly delicious cauliflower cheese that actually tasted of cheese, which isn't always the case. We will be back

Having been to the Station Bar before we knew to ring to check they could do a roast for us on Sunday evening. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful and were happy to accommodate us although they normally only do Sunday roasts at lunch time. We had a quite exceptional meal cooked freshly for us which was outstanding value. Like previous reviewers we had very good trimmings and large portions of meat. We thoroughly recommend this Bar.

Excellent Sunday roast, with proper crispy roast potatoes and decent Yorkshire puddings. Proper gravy. A very friendly service. The waitresses were very polite and nothing was any trouble and they learnt what a St Clements was.

We saw the reviews for this place and stopped en route south after a long hard day. The Golden Jackal beer was lovely and the food took a while to come - we were the only people there - and I watched how it was all handled as we sat opposite the serving hatch. I did wonder about using bare hands to sort the salad, but suspect I'm being too squeamish. The place looked clean and the food tasted good. It was not the best food I tasted (and by no means at all bad) but was a very pleasant place as it was so totally unexpected in a place quite off the beaten track! No complaints at all

Tried thier carvery for the first time today, the place has a welcoming and cosy feel, but with plenty of seating.

We arrived without booking to discover that they had just reopened following Christmas. The owner/chef let us know what was available and made every effort to keep us warm as the pub had been closed. His welcome itself was very warm and welcoming and the locals very friendly too.. the ribeye steak was locally sourced and delicious. The chicken was well cooked. Overall a lovely meal. Just a short walk away from marketplace. Would recommend.

Went here on a Friday evening after reading good reviews and we were not disappointed. The place looks quite small from outside but when you go inside it is surprisingly large. It is very nicely done out and has a good relaxing feel about it.

Although there are several burgers on the menu there are plenty of other dishes to choose from. The special of the day - chicken breast stuffed with chorizo was excellent as was the Hunter's Chicken. Whatever to choose make sure you try the garlic bread and the coleslaw. Fantastic cooking and equally good service.

So many places I have visited are about style rather than the food being served. Not here. Although this place is small, is is clean and the food was great. Greeted warmly on arrival. Staff were friendly and attentive. I had a rib eye steak for my main course, which was served with chips, tomato, mushrooms, coleslaw, side salad and onion rings. Steak cooked as requested. The menu is not extensive, but there is plenty of choice, plus specials on a blackboard. Thoroughly enjoyed the Pavlova for pudding.We will definitely be returning – lucky Swaffham!
