A lovely, rustic, neat, friendly coffee shop, where we felt warmly welcomed. Food was freshly made and very neatly presented with thoughtful finishing touches. Staff here are genuinely interested in catering to customers' dietary requirements. Ambience was relaxed and convivial. Loved the interesting decor. Highly recommended!! So firstly, I think you have be a local/regular to come here and be treated nicely. The manager (assuming it was her) was very rude and unwelcoming. I booked a table as being a small establishment, I thought that it would be a good idea to do so. We just wanted coffee and cake but there were 5 of us. On the phone, no one asked if we would be having lunch. Unaware, we went along to our booked table. After ordering coffee and cake, it was clear to see that said manager was unimpressed and then came to us and said ‘just to let you know that we don’t book tables for just coffee and cake’. I replied that no one had checked with me. She then went on to say that they ‘turned people down’. Wow, sorry to be such an inconvenience. We then felt like we were being paid a favour. We definitely won’t be returning. A very patronising response and overpriced food. You should be more explicit in the ‘rules’. And actually a lovely little place is one thing but surely it should come with a smile and customer service. Wish I’d given my money to someone else!!!!

Consider myself a regular of D&B now and honestly it's now firmly established as one of my favourites. Whether breakfast, brunch, coffee or lunch, there is something on the menu for all tastes. Personally, our family favour the breakfast, but the salads, scampi, ham egg and chips, anything really... nothing has ever disappointed. But the icing on the cake, so to speak, is the team who work there. Super friendly, welcoming, attentive and accommodating... just the best. Really feel it's the staff that make anywhere, and that's definitely true at D&B... feel they are rapidly becoming friends! Thanks all, you're doing a brilliant job!

Heard good things about the place so popped in with family for lunch. We didn’t find it too expensive at all, we all had the special which was sweet chilli chicken burger, which came with fries & onion rings, it came out absolutely huge, was beautifully cooked and presented all for less than £15! The staff were just fantastic, friendly, and good quick service. A lovely place, great food, great staff! We’ll definitely be back, I highly recommend.

First, the food: amazing. Had ham eggs and chips and was seriously gut-busting. Like a homemade plate you'd get from your mum/nan when they wanted to treat you. Fantastic. However the price of the stuff on the menu was, in my opinion, just a little too rich. £12.50 for a jacket potato. £10+ for a sandwich. I don't mind paying more for great food (hence being happy with the ham and eggs), but charging over a tenner for a jacket potato is a bit punchy I think. Still, great service, really friendly team, nice ambience and all round good place for lunch.

The young team are always welcoming and look after you well - and it's nice to see young people taking pride in what they do. This little gem is a must if you’re looking for somewhere to eat and drink! People pop in for morning coffee or tea or a light breakfast. We arrived at 12.00 noon and were greeted by Jo and Hannah and shown to a table opposite the bar. We had a couple of glasses of white wine and my wife chose the jacket potato heaped with prawns and I had the Brie and bacon panini. Both were superb and excellent value and served with a small salad! We finished off sharing a delicious orange gateaux with ice cream. Hidden gem in the Stock crown of dining venues. We had the Friday night Spanish Tapas for the first time, which was excellent. We look forward to the Asian tapas in the new year, post the omicron lockdown. Covid reduced the numbers in the restaurant which must be very disappointing for the staff and owner. Dandelion and Burdock has been a favourite for a little while now, so about time it got the review it deserves! Restaurant itself is so nicely done; simple, eclectic decor, yet warm and inviting. In this new 'covid' secure environment, pleased to see measures in place to protect staff and customers alike...sanitiser as you enter and visors worn by staff. The menu is full and varied, with breakfast, brunch, mains and light bites...plenty of choice and can't fault any of the dishes I've had to date! The team are so friendly and really make you feel welcome and your visit special. The only slight drawback, if you can call it that, is parking, but not something you can do anything about when the restaurant is positioned in the pretty village of Stock; parking has to be on side roads nearby as there is no car park, so allow time to park if you have a reservation as surrounding area can be rather busy. Well worth a visit and know we'll return in the not too distant future! Thank you!

Our second visit. Loved the place first time but changed our minds today. We were a table of 4 for lunch. 2 meals came out wrong which resulted in us eating at staggered intervals. The music was too loud but worse of all was the Manager yelling instructions to the staff almost constantly. Also training staff to lay an afternoon tea and taking telephone calls at top speaking volume. It was not a good atmosphere at all and very off putting. Food was ok but don’t think we will be back. Disappointed.

We usually go for lunch in high street but decided to go somewhere different with easier parking as it was torrential rain.As we entered the Cafe we were asked if we had booked ( it was midday and very busy) we said we hadn't and were given the opportunity to stay for an hour before our table was needed for someone else. We were given menus by the only Waitress I could see and we ordered our Coffees which were really good ( I am very fussy with my Latte). We looked at menu but for me the wraps and sandwiches a bit privet twice what I normally pay but we managed to find something on the Brunch Menu so we both ordered a Stack with Cumberland Sausage Hash Browns Tomato topped off with a fried egg it was really tasty it did take a while to arrive because so many groups of people already there.... I didn't manage to eat it all and did feel a bit rushed as table was booked for someone else. We finished up and went next door to The Bear for another drink each. I would like to go back in the Summer and sit outside the Cade which I have done before and was really nice. The food is tasty but would say it's more expensive.

Came today for breakfast with friends, having a table booked at 9.15am i arrived just a few minutes earlier, this establishment opens at 9am. Upon arrival i said to the lady behind the bar area we have a table booked ect.. and she pointed to our table, literally 2 seconds after, the member of staff right next to us who was on the phone when we came in asked if we had a table booked, i politely said that we had just been shown our table. We sat down and after 5 mins i asked for menus (we were the only customers in there at the time), looking around us there were alot of crumbs and stuff on the floor, 10 mins later the lady that was behind the bar started sweeping (should this not have been done before opening?) When the rest of the table had arrived we looked at menus and chatted for a bit, ordered drinks, then i asked one of the ladys if i could order for my 2 year old first so she didn't have to wait long but as it was we were actually all ready to order, having placed our order we waited around 20 mins and it all came together, i was hoping my 2 year olds sausages would come out first so she didn't have to wait long (that was the reason id asked and said id wanted to order for her), my daughter had 2 sausages which had obviously been pre cooked, were wrinkly and cold, i had a sausage sandwich but yet again ..cold pre cooked sausages on bread that wasn't too fresh, my 2 friends had smashed avocado on toast and eggs florentine i belive, i didnt ask their opinions on their breakfasts as we were busy "catching up" with each other. I am putting this down to them just having an "off day" because we have been twice before and both times have been lovely which is why we chose to come again today. During our duration at this establishment there was only 2 other tables, 1 was a couple and 1 was a lady on her own so not busy at all. I would visit again as 2 out of the 3 times i have been have been lovely.

Disappointing service, the waitress was very rude and abrupt in her manner on arrival. then when we went to pay told us to sit down and it was full table service (something that was not the case last time) and then took almost 10mins to come back with the bill. We felt like we had inconvenienced them as we hadn't pre booked a table- for coffee. We weren't treated like customers

We visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the food was incredible, the quality and the amount was perfect. One of the best meals we've had for a while. If you're in the area definitely book yourself a table!

Sindy's is a totally unique little shop doing amazing fresh sandwiches. They're ridiculously good value for money too. Fresh bread smells amazing.

Amazing afternoon tea. A real treat with fantastic service aswell. I loved that you get given to start with rolls and we were given fritters but it could be sauasage rolls (we were told they there would be sausage rolls) the fritters were nice, a bit different. Then afterwards you get served by silver service to choose your sandwiches. Lots of choice to choose from, 6 different filling. Then you get the stand with the scones and deserts. All delicious. They provided boxes to take away the ones you can't eat because your full. There is a list of different teas with a large variety including lemon and ginger. I highly recommend this afternoon tea. I was also spoilt by the chef with writing Happy 50th Birthday in chocolate on a plate, that was a nice touch, thank you Pontlands.
