Not very busy staff attenive and friendly engaged in chat with my pint of Fosters been here before with bands playing and jamming!

Excellent pub good beer and live sport superb

We had a leaving party here last night for my daughter and her boyfriend who are going travelling. The staff were amazing, friendly and hard working and made sure we had the best night. Special mention to Linda and Jenny who made us so welcome. We all had a great time. Thank you

Asked for a ham sandwich, on a Sunday lunchtime, no problem, even came with a nice side salad.

Beer was well kept the right temperature at a ok price free car park. Staff are very friendly, we found a table very early by the window and had a nice lunch. We will go back.

What a Lovely Pub ! Went to the Nags Head last night for the first time. Some really lovely features around the pub that makes it feel so warm and inviting. Good selection of beers straight from the barrel. Lovely friendly staff that made you feel very welcome. Unfortunately I didn't try the food so unable to complete my star rating for that. Cannot wait to visit again!

A most excellent pub dining experience, though the menu is quite short, there is a good variety of pub food, cooked and presented to a very good level. Lovely food and good staff made for an enjoyable visit.

A great pub actually. I’ve got quite a nice bit at the back and they do some very good points of real ale and it’s very friendly. I try to make it a pitstop when we go out for a bike ride.

A proper pub with lots of atmosphere. Good range of reasonably priced Beers, wines and spirits . Also good range of snacks or cooked food , if required. Nice friendly atmosphere in comfortable surroundings with outside seating as well. Good sized car park. All bar staff are friendly and efficient. Just what a decent pub should be.

great lunch today with my daughter, we both had the fish and chips which were excellent, the fish was first class, in fact its hard to remember when I had such a lovely piece of fish, cooked to perfection, the chips were crisp and lovely, peas etc. the whole meal was perfect. This pub is lovely and clean, the staff are also lovely. Hope to go again very soon

I had my birthday celebration on Saturday 26 th September and everything was superbly taken care of . The food was amazing ( so well presented ) The staff were attentive and extremely helpful. And Linda, Jenny and team made sure it was a birthday to remember. The Nags head ( in my opinion ) is head and shoulders above any other pub I have been in . Thank you all for such a memorable day . This is a clean and cosy pub which we chose for our Sunday lunch treat for a family friend visiting from Norfolk. The route from their car park leads through outdoor seating to a rear entrance . The bar was comfortably busy , the Six Nations rugby was on, and it was a convivial atmosphere. We were shown to our table and served drinks and given a menu by our waitress Molly who did a great job looking after us during our visit. There were several starters , three mains and several desserts. The roast dinners on offer were turkey , beef and pork. The meat was succulent , the vegetables (broccoli,carrots,cauliflower and roast parsnips) were well cooked and tasty. Too many (5) roast potatoes for me ,flavoursome stuffing ,Yorkshire pudding and gravy were all excellent. Our small party had each of the meats and all were well satisfied with quality and quantity. Desserts arrived and the apple and cinnamon pie with custard was absolutely excellent! Other desserts tried were ice cream sundae and strawberry meringue which received good reports. This was a very pleasant unhurried lunch which we all enjoyed. Well done and thank you Linda and helpers! We will not hesitate to return.

Had a quiz night at this pub, most enjoyable. Food was also ordered, all very nice piping hot and tasty.

Best pub in Essex, in my opinion. Food is great during the day and evening back to traditional pub. Varied live music events to suit all tastes. Lots of activities that support local charities and activities. Always a warm welcome from landlady, Linda, and the staff, all managed very well by Jenny.

just a standard solid pub. Young man Sam is a nice guy and is doing well there. they show sports and have outside seating which is always good

First class pub that has live music most Thursday and Friday evening's. Music on the side of the great rock days. Never disappointed. Fine lunch menu.

This Pub had an endless line of deadbeat Publicans for many years - and then Linda arrived This is a lady who knows what she wants and knows what the locals want. She never stops adding little touches to her baby and has produced a house that is warm and welcoming. It is not an eatery but lunch is always available and always has that little bit extra - Those Linda touches I have lost touch of Linda`s tenancy but I guess it must be getting close to 10 x years now Oh! and I forgot to say - I am an IPA Drinker and I have never had a bad pint yet

Popped in for a mid-walk snack. We had a sausage & onion sandwich. It was delicious, good sausages and served with salad, coleslaw & crisps. Although I haven’t been here for many years, I drive past often and they always seem to have lots going on. Will definitely be going back.

Unusual pub with the taproom visible through a window in the bar. Good point of sale but bit pricey. The food looked great but didn't try it.

I visited today with my wife and two family friends, the choice of food was great, can recommend the freshly prepared fish and chips with peas and the Mediterranean chicken with fresh vegetables. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming, they even offered us a fan which was much appreciated as it’s the hottest day of the year, the service was excellent and we felt very well looked after.

Very friendly pub with their own real ale - Lindy Lou and delicious wines especially their Malbec. Home cooked food and on Wednesdays/Thursdays lunchtime have a two-course meal for £12.95. Small outside seating area decorated with lots of plants and flowers.
