We visited on a Friday early evening, family of four adults getting together to celebrate my daughters birthday and to enjoy a catch up over a delicious dinner.
Staff were very attentive and polite, we all enjoyed our food, no complaints there, the service was very good as were the cocktails and wine.
So why only a 3*?
The NOISE!!
A table of six diners next to us found it neccessary to shout at one another, laugh like hyenas and generally make their presence felt by being complete morons.
They managed to spoil our evening as we were unable to have much conversation, we ate our food as swiftly as possible, didnāt bother with desserts just a quick coffee and left.
Yes, we could have asked to be moved but my partner did a quick scan of the restaurant which seemed pretty full, and in the good old English style, we didnāt want to make a fuss.
If only management had been a little more vigilant and handled the situation, and asked them to keep the noise down a bit we wouldāve been perfectly happy.
Such a disappointing birthday meal.
The food is amazing! The staff are extremely friendly and the service is fantastic.. also had a milkshake while I was here, gotta give a massive thumbs up for that! Was gorgeous..
Would recommend this place to anyone, perfect place to have lunch and its set away from traffic so very peaceful.

We ordered 2 beef burgers a chicken burger and fish fingers ( for kids) beef burgers came out raw. So sent them back. Got a replacement which we had to wait a while for Got an apology from a memebr of staff but no discount was offered.not the first time we have been and not 4 star plus for food. Sorry to say.
This excellent restaurant has now been obliged to close so that the premises can be turned into residential dwellings. It was outstanding because of its unusually huge, varied and delicious menu, its thoughtful staff and pleasant design. There was nothing quite like it.
A sad loss to Sheringham and north Norfolk.
The food was delicious and the menu was varied. The portions are very big however, and most people on our table couldnāt finish the food. would come here again :)
The centric hub for this establishment is āColinā. Owner, chef, raconteur and all round eccentric English Gentleman.
His food is simple, fresh and cooked with flare and Colinās twist. It was simply superb. My oysters all suffered from clinical obese syndrome and were the plumpest tastiest oysters Iāve ever eaten, not to mention they retained all their liquor in the shells. I had several courses including enormous juicy scallops, monkfish with scallops in lobster bisque and much more not to mention the outstanding home made prune and Armagnac bread and butter pudding with creamā¦.. OMGā¦.heavenly!! This 75 year boy can cook!! The experience of Colinās company, his food and the overall experience will stay with me and my secretary for ever. Colin is a hugely funny bloke and doesnāt even realize it. Absolutely loved the whole experience and brilliant value for money if you appreciate the best food available In Norfolk!!
We laughed all the way on our 3 hour journey home at every thing that happened and the calamities. Hilarious. Our new friend and our new go to restaurant ābest restaurant experience ā in Norfolk. If you donāt have a sense of humour, I recommend you stay elsewhere.
Colinā¦. Youāre a legend. Thanks Pal.

Made a 60 mile trip to attend an event organised by the Pure City Soul Club and was really impressed with not just the music, but by the hospitality offered by the team at The Sole And Heel.
Super friendly, polite, very efficient at both serving drinks and food, which in itself was incredibly tasty, with generous portions and very reasonably priced too.
Weāll absolutely visit again, we cannot recommend this place enough
