I stayed there 23rd for wedding anniversary, well itâs living on the past , fine dinning restaurant , well thatâs a joke they have no fine dining, It started with the room we walked in thought thatâs nice 4 poster but there was cobwebs and dust on the bed , went to the bathroom there was cobwebs everywhere, there is no excuse for that , the teabags werenât enough for 2 people , they hadnât touched the room for I donât know how long , There was a knock on the door had to order the meal I was very disappointed a choice of 4 meals , if we hadnât booked there was nowhere to go without driving , Saturday they were closed for food

Lovely little coffee shop at the end of the high street. I have visited here many times over the years and nothing has come close to their coffee quality. The team always deliver a warm greeting when someone enters. Their granola with coconut yoghurt is so good!

We consider ourselves âfoodiesâ and eat out a lot. Sadly, and all too frequently, the experience doesnât live up to the hype. The Boarding House on the other hand was exceptional - the food was simply delicious and faultless. Friendly service, great value and an absolute joy. I would say I have high standards - others would say Iâm a fussy bugger - and Iâm not often moved to leaving reviews - Iâm almost reluctant to share what must be the best kept secret in Halesworth - but these guys deserve all the credit they get. Canât wait to go back.

The food at this restaurant is amazing however the service is very poor unless you are clearly a "regular" . We had a table for two booked, we were sat in the tightest corner right by the toilet where they had managed to just about squeeze a table in, and you could just about wedge your legs in and I am under 5ft! We ordered our food, and a bottle of wine, and I asked for some water too. The wine came, eventually but I had to ask for water 4 times before eventually we were bought two luke warm tumblers of water, whilst the "regulars" on the next table were bought at least 2 jugs of cold iced water while we waited parched in our squashed corner... You can't service your "regulars" and ignore everyone else....we won't be returning anytime soon...

First time visitors as we were visiting the area and the day of our visit was my birthday. What can I say but AWESOME, lovely tasty food and massive portions to quell even the largest of appetites The young man that served us was very friendly and efficient and if we are ever down this way again we will return without doubt. No complaints at all

Just had Sunday roast here. Lovely. Warm welcome groom two lovely hospitable ladies. Great service. The flood was excellent. Thick slices of beef unlike the see thru stuff in some places. Cauliflower cheese creamy and aromatic and a decent size square of sticky toffee pud that is not overly sweet. Ample servings of gravy and sauces. And their weekday menu looks great. Thank you the Duke. Jim

Used this pub as a second choice for our pre-concert dinner after our pre-booked first choice let us down. A quick phone call was answered promptly by a most helpful lady (Hope) explaining our predicament. "Can you plese help us, we need a table for 2, asap, for just a main course and need to be finished within a short time frame." Hope was very happy to accommodate our needs and took the booking. We were more than impressed. A pub grub menu was presented within minutes of our arrival, as did our drinks. and the hot delicious food arrived in a timely manner. All I can say is a huge thanks to Hope and the team. They understood customer service, as well as providing hot delicious food at a competitive price. You will now be our first choice in future.
