Polonia Club in Cambridge

We went here with a group of friends for a birthday celebration. It was excellent. I enjoyed trying new, different things. The food was all freshly cooked and delicious. The staff were fabulous too, genuinely friendly and helpful. This is a gem of a restaurant, I would highly recommend.

Very nice experience. This restaurant was really authentic with great staff. The menu was extensive with lots of choice, good traditional polish food, really fresh and tasty. We had all three courses and finished with some delicious sweet flavoured Polish vodka. Would highly recommend.

Klub Polonia/Polonia Club is a great experience from start to finish. They welcome you through the door into their social club/dining room setting and their restaurant is quaint, warm and comforting. The menus have a little history about the social club and how it came about, to how it exists today. True traditional dishes and items on the menu are cooked to perfection, from Pierogi to Pork Chop & Cabbage Parcels (Gołabki) to sides such as Mizerią, Sauerkraut & traditional Polish Sausage. Their desserts/cakes are also homemade and make fantastic desserts on their own or also amazing to take away and have with a hot drink at home too. Drinks are also great as they do lovely traditional teas, beers/cider, spirits, etc & even have a handful of very tasty cocktails and mocktails to accommodate all, really nice. Their service is personable & warming. The two servers on Saturday evening were knowledgeable, skilled and ensured everyone was well looked after, whether bookings or walk-ins. Recommended through multiple people, I will be returning multiple times and have already let many people know to enjoy their food & service, from a couple of recent visits. Consistently great, keep it going, I will be back!

Spent the night in a hotel just to have dinner in this wonderful restaurant. It was worth it1 Can't recommend it enough, The warm atmosphere generated by the staff is great, and the FOOD! Everything was delicious but will make myself try different options next time because I'm sure they will taste just as good.

I have left a review at Google already but I really want to spread the words as I honestly think this place should be known by more people who love good food and a nice cozy atmosphere in Cambridge. We came here for a meal and we were not disappointed. In fact, this is probably the only restaurant in Cambridge that I would return to! We really wanted to have pork knuckles, we found this restaurant which does that and had really good reviews so we thought we would give it a go. We pre-ordered the pork knuckle (need to preorder at least 24hrs in advance). We arrived at the place and the first impression was it is a very cosy and homey place. Nice and simple decoration, very comfortable atmosphere. We were greeted and seated immediately. They already know that we pre-ordered the knuckle, we also ordered the salmon and spinach dumplings as we heard they were good. When the pork knuckle arrived, we were pleasantly surprised - the portion was very generous and looked very tasty! Part of the knuckle skin was crispy (so crispy like what you can expect from a roasted suckling pig!) and part of them was soft which is full of flavour and collagen! The meat inside was juicy and hot. It came with one side which we ordered the chips and we also have pickled cabbage which was home-made, not overly sour and paired well with the knuckle! The sauces that came with it were mustard and horse radish. I don't usually like these sauces as they are normally too strong and all you can taste is sour, but these which looked home-made were not overpowering so you can actually taste the freshness of the original raw ingredients, again they paired well with the pork knuckle. We also tried the salmon and spinach dumping and the texture was great and had a nice balance of ingredients within it. Nice balance of flavour. We wanted to try the desserts too but were too full! We saw the other table ordering them and they looked tasty and the portion was generous. We will give it a go next time :) What we really like is that everything came piping hot, well cooked and nothing fancy - pure good food. The staff were friendly, genuine and left you sufficient room to chat. Nice atmosphere for conversations. A jar of water was provided to us so we didn't have to constantly ask for it. Nothing to complain about really! Everyone should know about this place! We will return!

Free parking available behind house with outdoor tables front and back gardens. Good portions at reasonable prices, sharing plates ideal to try variety of traditional Polish dishes & desserts, Polish craft beer.

Enjoyed another happy family gathering at the Polonia Club. The generous portions of perfectly cooked, homely Polish food satisfied all the nationalities gathered at our table. In our experience their potato pancakes and mushroom soup are second to none. Other family favourites include the Polish sausage, smoked cheese, pierogi, bigos, goulash on potato pancakes, seabass and pork with cheese and mushrooms. If lucky you might visit on a day when they also offer delicious homemade plum or apple cake. With so many delicious options it can be difficult to choose! Manager Giuseppe Carata takes great care and when we planned to visit in a larger group we were happy to provide menu choices in advance so as to avoid disappointment. Despite the challenges everyone endured over the last two years, we have always found him and his staff very helpful and attentive. In a city like Cambridge where parking can be stressful, the opportunity to park at the rear is a much appreciated bonus. Already looking forward to returning and hopefully dining alfresco again amongst the flowers on the outdoor terraces as soon as weather permits.

Went with a Polish friend and the food was very good, and very satisfying. Also good beer. Service a bit shaky: ordered some bread that never arrived and didn't get any apology for it. Still the food is good and the atmosphere/setting very nice. Very country-style. Reasonably priced too. will definitely go again

My husband and I are happy to be back to dining indoors after Lockdown. We were finally able to return to this restaurant and taste the wonderful Polish dishes plus a gorgeous Black Russian cocktail. We have been going to Club Polonia for a while now and they always serve good, authentic Polish food. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. We will be going again soon! It was good to be back there!

I had been wanting to visit this place for a long time and it definitely didn’t disappoint. We opted to share a starter and two mains and the portions were plenty. All of the food was well cooked and very tasty. The staff were excellent and very efficient. I will certainly visit again

As a dumpling fan I was looking forward to tasting the polish perogi, shame it wasn’t that nice. Found the meat inside to be bland tasting and over all the dish was below average.I then ordered a schnitzel and chips which I found to be very dry and tasteless.A disappointing and non eventful visit I’m afraid and won’t be coming again.The service was functional and not very friendly, even tried speaking a bit of polish with staff who just ignored me.

What a delightful place.Amazing service by Monika, portions were very generous and tasty like home-made polish food. I lived in Poland for one year and it was just like being in Poland.We had a slice of cake for dessert. The size can easily be shared.The drinks menu has a variety of polish beverage, including the most exotic vodkas.

Mi familia, amigos y yo hemos estado visitando este restaurante durante muchos años. Hemos probado la mayoría de los platos, desde albóndigas, panqueques, ensaladas hasta platos principales como escalope, guisos, arroz envuelto en repollo con carne en salsa de champiñones y sus deliciosos pasteles hechos en casa. Nos gustan todos los platos, incluidos los vegetarianos. La calidad y el tamaño de las porciones han sido consistentemente buenos, por eso seguimos regresando. El ventanal de la sala principal proporciona mucha luz natural durante el día. Las mesas no están demasiado empaquetadas (incluso antes de COVID - 19). Acabo de estar en casa después de mi segunda visita esta semana, esta vez una cena con la familia, comimos al aire libre. La comida nunca deja de agradar, especialidades polacas bien cocinadas y bien presentadas, proporciones sustanciales y precios modestos. Es más como comer en casa de alguien que en un restaurante y, de hecho, es un club ante todo. Fue agradable comer al aire libre. Servicio amable y atento.

Locale molto semplice e servizio sbrigativo. Pochi piatti in menu, e nemmeno tutto era disponibile. Il piatto che ho chiesto non era disponibile, e quello che ho mangiato era piuttosto dozzinale. Ho ordinato un vino e mi è stata portata una bottiglia diversa: la cameriera ha spergiurato che fosse la stessa, anche mentendo sulla scritta in georgiano. Credeva che non me ne accorgessi? se n'è accorta al momento della mancia. Non mi piace essere preso in giro al ristorante, men che meno sul vino. Cambiate mestiere.

1st time here and had never heard about it before coming. Came here with people from work and a couple of them are polish and been here before. The food was lovely and it was nice trying polish food and coming here with polish people to say what to try we also shared our food so we could taste different things. After our meal we all had vodkas, great choice of different flavoured vodkas. Will definitely be coming back and telling people about this and it was also reasonably priced.

I love the home cooked and authentic food in this place. Staff are friendly and welcoming. I am vegetarian and have a good choice of options. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant. It is also clean and welcoming. We tried the cherry liquor which was so warming and flavoursome.

I am a Pole and I must say it is very sad that in such a beautiful city like Cambridge, full of Polish people, we don't have a good Polish restaurant where you can eat a REAL Polish food in decent price. I must say - I went there few times and every time I was disappointed. The portions are quite small if you compare to the price and what is even more important - the service is very slow. The taste of food is not good at all. I would love to go there with my foreign friends but I don't feel comfortable enough to do so if the quality of food is so low :/

Great food, fantastic selection of beer, really very good cakes!Good value, not cheap, but not expensive.It was not very busy as it was a Sunday evening, so for other days of the week go early or book, as it is not very big.I would be happy to eat here again.

Soy parcial porque soy polaco, pero creo que la comida aquí es realmente bastante buena. A menudo llevo amigos o citas aquí, y la comida siempre es auténtica y a menudo gusta a mis invitados.

Normalmente no reviso los restaurantes, pero la comida que comí aquí fue tan mala que siento que debo hacerlo. Ojalá con la esperanza de que el restaurante mejore, ya que me gustaría mucho un buen restaurante polaco en Cambridge donde pueda comer con mi familia. Soy un polaco, al igual que mis padres y mi esposo británico, con el que he estado durante 17 años, en ese tiempo he estado en muchos restaurantes polacos. Todos fuimos unánimes al decir que esta fue la peor comida polaca que jamás hayamos probado. Mi zurek era simplemente agua con un poco de crema / leche y eneldo, y unas pocas piezas de huevo y salchicha flotando en ella. Sabía bastante horrible para ser honesto. Como lo dijo mi madre, fue "indignante" que sirvieran esto. ¡El Knorr zurek en polvo que puedes encontrar en la tienda de Polonia sabe mejor! El pierogi de arándanos de mi marido y mi madre debe haber sido de la variedad congelada producida en la fábrica, ya que también tenían un sabor bastante horrible. Un montón de masa espesa y casi ningún arándanos. Compro pierogi de arándanos listo en la tienda polaca, cuando no puedo molestarme en hacerlos, y son mucho mejores que los que se sirven aquí. Mi madre dejó casi todo su plato de pierogi y son sus favoritos. Los golabki eran pasables, pero no geniales. La salsa no tenía sabor porque estaba muy diluida con agua. El barszcz era comestible, aunque mi marido dijo que las albóndigas no eran muy agradables. Podría seguir ... La única comida que era bastante sabrosa era el pescado de mi padre, que era simplemente un pescado entero frito, con papas fritas. Difícil equivocarse. Me avergüenza que la gente piense que esto es comida polaca. ¡Es mucho mejor! Vaya a cualquier restaurante polaco en Londres, y he estado en varios de ellos en mis diez años de vida allí, desde los elegantes (Daquise y Ognisko) hasta los más baratos, de los cuales hay muchos, y usted Saborear mejor la comida polaca. Recientemente también fui a lo que entiendo que es el único restaurante polaco en Toronto y también fue mejor y, de hecho, increíble. Polonia Club serves authentic Polish Food in the best edition. Also the team is Poish and you can order the classic meals under their original names. Warmly recommended.

We have previously reviewed this establishment back in 2017 after we were first introduced to this place by our Polish friend, we loved the food and service so much that we have been regular patrons on 1-2 monthly basis since then. Today we visited again expecting the same. I ordered a main dish which includes a side dish. As per usual, I asked for a Salad as my Side dish which I have on the past 10+ occasions paid not extra (after all the included side dishes are around £3.00 each and salads around £2-2.50 each). The food all tasted great as expected, however when it came to seeing my bill, I was surprised to see an extra £2.30 added for my salad. I told the staff that I chose a salad instead of a side dish and had never been charged extra, she spoke to another lady in Polish, who then opened the menu in front of me and pointed out that only a Side dish is included with my main, and that I ordered a salad not a side. I said when I placed my order I specifically said I wanted a salad as my side dish, and if there was any confusion then I should have been offered a free side dish too if the lady thought the salad was something I wanted as an extra, I was never offered a side dish.....

La comida, el ambiente agradable y acogedor del lugar siempre me dan ganas de volver por más. Particularmente me gustan las sopas - muy apetitosas pero por supuesto las albóndigas también! Lo único que quisiera señalar es que los 'surowki' (ensaladas de vegetales crudos) han sido mucho mejores en el pasado, ¡mi favorito es el apio! ¡Estos días no me parecen tan buenos como eran, así que volvería a hacer lo que estaban haciendo en el pasado ya que eran increíbles!

A total surprise to find a low key venue that did not look like a venue, but was splendid, understated and comfortable. This was a new experience for most of our party and was enjoyed by us all. Polish food that was plentiful and very enjoyable, quietly and efficiently served so as not to be intrusive. We were in the "back room", which meant that we were not disturbed at any time and this made the event even more special. Plentiful food and options were brought out kindly and politely by helpful waiting staff. The whole event ran smoothly and enjoyably, in a most relaxed way.

A hidden gem in Cambridge (as from the outside it's hardly recognisable as a restaurant). Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, lovely food (I'm not Polish, but I definitely liked what we ate) and an amazing selection of wódka.

Fue un poco como retroceder en el tiempo de una manera realmente encantadora. El personal era muy amable y servicial nos guió a través del menú. La comida era deliciosa y muy razonable. Teníamos una cita en el teatro, así que no había tiempo para uno de los tentadores postres que se ofrecen, pero la próxima vez, definitivamente voy a probar el pastel de pasas.

Food was good but simple. Service was quick and attentive. However, the prices have gone up quite a bit recently I think, it used to be cheaper.

Nice place, quite cheap and, apparently, good food. The only bad thing was: they did not pay too much attention at my garlic allergy (although I told them about it and to avoid any contaminations). Therefore I haven't been feeling well since 2 days ago.

The only reason I am giving an average score and not a POOR one is mainly for the atmosphere. Lovely lights, feels like a nice home, gentle staff. Also quiet location close to the city center with lots of parking, something not very common for Cambridge!

Great restaurant with homemade, hearty food. Super authentic experience. I loved the range of Polish drinks they had in the bar. Pancakes were great and so were the pierogi. Stuffed cabbage was awesome, as was the lamb. Worth a visit but book ahead as it is a small dining room.

El Polonia Club es un favorito de mi hijo mayor y su novia, esta fue mi primera visita. Todos hemos probado diferentes platos principales, tuve el pollo en pan rallado, mi esposa la trucha, el hijo más joven, hija de filete de cerdo en la ley sopa de patatas, remolachas y el hijo y la novia de su favorito bolas y ensalada. De postre tuve la fudge tarta de manzana que era excelente y pastel de hijo más joven. El comedor es muy relajado - experiencia muy bonita.

Really nice food. The borscht was great! The restaurant is really interesting itself and it feels more like going home to someone rather than visiting a restaurant, which I really liked :)

I have been coming here for years and the quality is always excellent. Home made food is made in the kitchen with fresh ingredients and tastes great every time. The mixed salads are a delicious accompaniment, ask to try all of them as you get 3 on the plate, but there are more varieties than that. The range of food is perfect for meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans and those with food allergies, when ever I've been with someone with a dietary requirement the staff are really helpful and happy to make adjustments if needed. Service is always so friendly and staff seem happy to be working here. In addition to the food, there are a range of cakes/deserts which are delicious even on their own, you can drop in for a coffee and a cake or even one of their many imported beers/vodkas without feeling the need to buy a meal. It is best to reserve a table, even for small groups as it can get very busy, there are extra tables in the hall and outdoors too but the main dining room has a lovely atmosphere and is where you want to be. I could not recommend this place more highly!

The staff is welcoming and acoomodating. We arrived for food at 21.30 and they still welcomed us to have dinner. The house is beautiful and yes the dinning room is fairly small but to me, it just adds to the "homely" feel of it. And the food..... From a Portuguese (we like and know our food) to a Polish: the flavours were amazing. My Bigos was lovely and tasty and the cheese starter... I am just sorry I don't live in the area...otherwise I would be here all the time... :)

I visited along with my family who have visited several times before. My mother is Polish and agreed that the food is good homely and pretty authentic. We started with barszcz and uszkami (little meat filled pierogi), schnitzel for the kids were devoured with gusto, and the bigos (memories of my childhood) was tasty and delicious. They have a very wide choice of beers and vodkas, so leave the car behind :-). Service was efficient, friendly and helpful. Brought back memories of my grandma's living room. Go if you want to try good polish home cooking.

This is a small restaurant inside a Polish club - very homely, nothing fancy, but well worth a visit. The schnitzel is so light, and very tasty, and the potato pancakes are amazing.

The establishment serves what I consider to be an highly underrated cuisine. Polonia serves some really good quality polish food for such good value. The restaurant area is not too big and makes for a nice ambience to enjoy a spot of lunch or a pleasurable dinner. The staff are very attentive and good at explaining some of the dishes that are on the menu. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

Unlike many restaurants nowadays Polish restaurants do the effort to prepare sufficient vegetables. Excellent food and service here. HIgh quality. Not posh but common sense people and common sense food.

Having never even heard of the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was lovely (good old fashioned home cooked rather than mass produced) and came quickly, and there is the ability to sit inside and out.

We went for dinner. Kind, efficient staff. Only suggestion I would give to the owner that if they could include pictures to the menu card. It would help to decide what you want to eat. The soup was not what we expected. The main was really nice so I based my review on that.

A lo largo de los años he oído muchas buenas palabras sobre este lugar, pero nunca lo probé ni sé donde está exactamente hasta nos invitaron aquí por nuestro amigo polaco, y fue todo un lujo!

La comida era excelente, de muy alta calidad. El personal era muy profesional y eficiente. La habitación estaba muy bien decorada y muy limpia. Las raciones son de buen tamaño y los precios son razonables en comparación con el servicio que reciben. La orden estaba lista muy rápidamente. El restaurante es muy flexible, que felices para mí tener 22 personas por mi cumpleaños! El personal es realmente muy trabajadora! Sin duda recomiendo este lugar a todo el mundo que desean experimentar un poco de cielo en la tierra.

Vivieron en Cambridge durante 14 años y había pasado por el Club de Polonia varias veces y dijo: "tenemos que intentar allí". Fuimos anoche y fue magnífico, muchas cosas deliciosas para elegir. Como no había sido antes nos ofrecieron un menú compartir para 4 personas que nos permitió probar un montón de platos. Uno de nuestro grupo es vegetariano y la mezcla de alimentos que trajeron era increíble. El último hurra por era una mezcla de postres espectaculares. Sin duda volveremos, completos y muy casa waddled feliz!

Reservamos una mesa para cinco en la Polonia Club, y he de decir que la experiencia fue excelente en todos los aspectos. El servicio era amable y eficiente, con todo lo que llegan en buen tiempo. El restaurante en sí es básicamente una gran casa victoriana convertida, que aún tiene que sentir, lo que casi sientes que estás comiendo en un comedor grande, que aporta al ambiente. En cuanto al aspecto más importante, la comida, es excelente en todos los aspectos. Una buena, interesante, menú de comida, una extensa carta de bebidas, y todo a precios muy razonables. La comida en sí, era muy sabroso, con buenas porciones, y muy bien presentada. Sin duda recomendaría salir de el centro de Cambridge, al suburbio de Chesterton, donde este restaurante está situado. Tiene una muy buena reputación, y con buena razón.

It's been almost two years since I visited Polonia Club, today I had the chance to visit it again with my wife. We both had the chef's choice, chicken breast with a delicious sauce, rice and boiled veggies. It was delicious! We also enjoyed two desserts, a piece of warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream and a another one with poppyseed, chocolate and vodka flavored cream. Although they were not that fresh, they were very good as well. Lastly I recommend giving a try to one of those alcohol free beers: my choice was the caramel flavored and it was a pleasant surprise.Polonia club is a restaurant that does not boast about its presence; rather it awaits for us to discover it.

Lunched within a group of about 25 colleagues. I've had the delicious mushroom soup, the famous pierogi ( with spinach - there are other options for the filling ) which is vary similar to the Turkish meal "manti" and the cheesecake; all satisfactory. The hard working staff did a great job of keeping up with our table's requests ( especially with the endless coffee demands ) amidst other customers. Cycle parking is available at the front, car parking at the back was filled up and some colleagues had to park elsewhere. One minor issue: the coffee cups are quite small - I normally drink the smallest size of black Americano elsewhere - here I ended up drinking two cups; not sure if they have an option for a bigger cup.

We went for the food and the most extensive vodka menu I've ever seen.The place had a decent atmosphere the Polonia is more of a cultural centre a place for ex pat Poles to meet than a strict restaurant. We were in the bar.The staff where all very good, polite and well informed.The food was fantastic Polish grub. I had a pork schnitzel with some sauerkraut and a beetroot salad. Delicious. We had a vegetarian in the group and I was impressed with the range of options, I'd previously not though Polish cuisine was vegetarian friendly. It is.Then the vodka. A massive range of vodkas.And all for a really good price.

Great tasting Polish food at very reasonable prices.Small, cosy atmosphere and very friendly staff.It's a place with personality, but it won't be everyone's cup of tea...Though it's supposed to be for club members only, I've never been asked any questions and always go there without having a reservation.

Came with 8 others after a good friend organised their birthday here.The food was great and the staff very welcoming. They had no issues with us bringing our own birthday cake.The beer selection was surprisingly good and there is a big vodka list (although I don't touch the stuff)When I'm back in Cambridge I will come again

I wasn't sure what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised at this friendly restaurant. The food is unassuming but good and the potato to cakes are highly recommended! The wooden floors and busy atmosphere make the acoustics difficult if you are hard of hearing as one of our guests was, however this a warm and friendly restaurant that is well worth a visit.

I ate here on a Wednesday evening in a group of 10. There were not many other diners at all. Although the atmosphere was not bad, yes, as other reviews described, like a big living room in a house, the food for me was a big disappointment. I had one of the vegetarian options, potato pancakes with sour cream, plus a celeriac salad. The potato pancakes were thin and hard, "looked like toast" one of the other diners said. Another member of our party sitting opposite me had the same dish as me. Mine had an orange slice, some cucumber slices and half a small tomato as the garnish. Hers simply had a couple of orange segments. It was pointed out, but there was no response. The potato pancakes did not resemble the full and fluffy golden brown ones pictured on the menu. The celeriac salad was exactly that, grated celeriac with cream, no seasoning at all. The carrot salad was just a plate of grated carrot and so on. I ordered Polish mulled wine (which disappointingly tasted no different to any other mulled wine I have tried) It was £3.90 , and arrived with a cute candle stand to keep it warm. In the middle of the meal, the person opposite me said, "is that a fly in your drink, or a tea leaf? Horrified I looked closer and fished out with my knife a large mosquito, incredibly still alive. I pointed it out to the waitress who did not apologise simply offering to bring another, but I declined. I was not charged for this. I felt the food was very plain and simple, edible but not as delicious as I had imagined it would be. I would not eat there again. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a HUGE choice of alcohol, pages and pages of drinks choices. I looked at the dessert menu but the choices looked like simple home cooking (at four times the cost), and decided against trying anything. None of us had dessert. The tables had tall red candles and single iris flowers in tall vases which were in the way more than anything and were moved (by us) As soon as i arrived home, I had to visit the smallest room in the house pretty quickly, so not a happy end to the evening at all.

You wouldn't stumble across this place by accident as it's a bit out of town and looks from the street like a house! Luckily we had friends who had been there before. It's small and cosy - an old house in fact. Polish, Hungarian and Eastern European food. We had the pork pate (I'm not a pate fan generally but it was lush!!) and schnitzel. Absolutely lovely. For main course I had a sour krout with pork stew. Again lovely. Really interesting cuisine if you're a bit tired of the same old same old in chain restaurants in town. Very savoury (which was nice as you could tell they hadn't added a ton of sugar to everything) and really good (not sweet) pickles too. I didn't have dessert but other diners did and the portions were huge - all good feedback too (baked cheese cake and the poppy seed dessert which looked wonderful!). They have a great selection of imported wheat beers and vodkas (again great to have a different selection to try - better than the same old beers and ales) We tried a couple. And the egg liqueur was the best I have ever tried. Good service and two wait staff with good knowledge of the food and drink on the menu. History of the place is interesting too. Finally SUCH GOOD VALUE. Four adults ate (2 had 2 courses and 2 had 3 courses) with beers, tea and spirits. A little over £25 each. Fantastic. I'll be going back.

Four of us had dinner on a Saturday night when the restaurant was fully booked. The two serving staff were very pleasant and managed to keep us stocked up with Polish beers and vodkas from the extensive list. The food was all freshly cooked and good portion sizes. Two of us shared a plate of perogi for our starter and they were every bit as good as we'd had in Poland. The others had the meat croquette and Polish sausage to start - very good. Main courses were bigos (pork stew), pork chop with mushrooms, meat roulade and lamb - all very good with varied side orders and salads. We couldn't manage dessert but saw huge slabs of homemade cakes going by to other tables. All in all a very unusual restaurant (it's small and like sitting in someone's living room) but great food and very good value for money with beers and vodkas at around £2 and main courses around £10 with a side included. Only one word of warning (and this is not a reflection on the restaurant) - there is no parking.

I've visited this place with a group of people mix 'n' match from around the world. We came around 18:30 and left 21:45 on Sunday. They have Polish&English menu with is clearly understandable. Good selection of soups, salads and dinners. Half of the menu is alcohols, which is good. I have tried beetroot soup(it is pink! and has potato mashball in it.) after that I had a cherry pierogi(like Asian dumplings) as a sweet. You can choose salty Pierogi also; there is meat or vegetarian options. I had Polish beer called "Kozlak" and after that, I have tried really nice Walnut Liqueur. I think menu and service just what I need, calm and polite and clean.The atmosphere was nice and clean. This place actually looks like a house. Living room transferred to a dining room. Another big room has a space for parties I think I haven"t look. I didn't"t use the toilets sorry but I am sure they are also matching expectations.Overall nice to visit, can go again. I paid for the soup 6.25 / Pierogi 7.25 / Kozlak 4.90 / Liqueur 3.50 pounds.

The choice of food was reasonable and reasonably priced. However I felt the service had a lot to be desired. I had to order a glass of wine three times before I got it and then I had to go up to the bar. They weren't very friendly either

I don't tend to review any restaurants but just wanted to say that this restaurant sells the best "pierogi ruskie" ever! And this comes from a lady who has pierogi everytime she eats out in Poland :) Today I invited a friend of mine who is Australian for pierogi there and she was also very impressed.

We had a family event at the Polonia. Food was extremely tasty and fresh. Service very friendly. Can't beat home Polish cooking! All beers are Polish and a great experience for Polish food lovers or first timers. Do check times in advance as they are not open full time but do try it!

We came across the Polonia Club by accident walking back to our hotel feeling somewhat dejected as everywhere was full that we had initially tried. Food excellent. Interesting choice especially as we had'nt had polish food before. We would return.

we have been here a few times with different groups of friends. the food is always excellent and vast quantities. a very different dining experience, especially if eating in the front room. basic furniture and decor makes it feel like you are in someone's home.

Great Polish food with a good selection on the menu. The waiting staff were friendly and the service prompt. Food was excellent although I thought the portion sizes for some of the mains were a little small. The place has a cosy atmosphere but I thought some of the tables were a little close together.Great value at around £22/head for three courses and drinks.

Polish social club with restaurant. Needless to say authentic. Nice range of food.The servings are enormous and I was too greedy and not able to finish stuffed cabbage and potato pancakes.

Oh my potato pancakes with mushroom sauce! I can not fault this wonderful restaurant. The food is amazing , none of my party had anything negative to say , quite the contrary they all raved about how tasty and well cooked the food was and forget having a boring mint with your bill here you get fudge oh yes oh yes you do! We are coming back !

Now, I have been going to Polonia to eat for many years, and I like to take visiting friends for, what is usually, their first taste of Polish cooking! This is one of my favourite places to eat because we are never disappointed. The whole experience is unpretentious. The staff are very welcoming, with a certain level of formality (typically Polish), which is a joy to experience. i.e. they add a dignity to the art of welcoming & waiting for their dining guests. I am a creature of habit & I tend to eat the same dishes each time I dine there because they are so delicious.
