Good meat, good sides, friendly staff but don't come here for burgers.

Food was amazing, I came here with my friend and the atmosphere was very comfortable and calming. The staff was very polite and received great service. Definitely coming back again to try out different foods!

Entire menu is exquisitely exquisite. The burgers and peri peri were fantastic. Mango and lime should be banned though and from the entire nation.

Me and my friend got a chicken burger today around 7pm today. I always come here. At first it tasted funny but I didn’t pay too much attention to it. I finished my food and now it’s 11am I can’t even think about eating anything, I need to follow the BRAT diet because I don’t want my stomach to keep destructing itself because of what it had at around 7pm today. My friend has the same.

The food offering in Cambridge is not great generally but I expected a lot more from a Mill Road establishment - this has got to be one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. It is rare for me to leave food uneaten but the chicken strips were undercooked and the sauce (mango and lime) was just not nice. If you’re going to rip off Nando’s then at least get the flavouring right. The chicken and rice was clearly microwaved and the chips were obviously cooked from frozen (but not the good kind). Disappointed because the reviews were so good! Slightly strange vibe decor-wise but the staff were really nice. Alas the main attraction of a restaurant should really be the food…

Ladz on Mill Road, Cambridge has changed name to The Grill. New extended menu. Some of the food looks really good, I was a little shocked to see it wasn't the same menu and different name.... But I will go back to try the menu as the food looks good!

They recommended the smash burger. It was so dry. Looked like it was made hours ago and they just heated it in the microwave. Awful quality

Ordered the 3 chicken straps and did not realise at the time that the sauce was off! Which gave me food poisoning for 3 days and ruined my weekend. Phoned to speak with management and he denied everything so I haven't been back since. I can't risk going back again!

Spent 7 quid on freezer mozzarella sticks and a "gourmet beef" burger. You'd be better off staying at home with a sandwich. Regret ever visiting and wasting money. Came here for burgers. Was contemplating chicken or beef. Thought beef would be easier to eat so chose the "gourmet beef burger". Nothing gourmet about it. Got the small burger and it came in a brioche bun with loads of mayonnaise. Is that the "gourmet"? It looked like a frozen patty and it taste exactly like lamb. I was so confused. I was thinking about asking if it was a lamb burger loads but the staff were so rude and unapproachable. For about £7, it comes with a can and a side. The sides are weird. "Smashed potatoes" are mashed potatoes. Call them mashed then. Also as they're all the same price, they give steak cut chips and corn on the cob, or roast vegetables, the same value. Over-valued. There were 5 mozzarella sticks which were a bit solid and bland. They were obviously frozen and one of the lower quality options. Decor was rubbish, looks tired and wasn't clean. The menu was hard to read and looked like a rip off of Nandos. They were playing weird French music. The staff was rude. They didn't check on us and had a standoffish attitude. They asked us to leave at 11 "to make is easier on them". What hospitality? You might say allow it, it's a chicken restaurant, but the butterfly chicken wasn't great and the portion was rubbish. Also, the peri chips were small chips with some seasoning sprinkled on at the top. Save money, go anywhere else.

Starting off with this place is a spin off of Nandos - grilled food etc. Now the food in this place was really good! The marinate, spices spot on, different from Nandos but uniquely better - hats off to the guys - we were well surprised how good it was! The food well presented, nice and simple menu, and all your fav grill stuff. The service again a 10 out of 10, there was 2 young women serving, and there was a whole heap of customers coming in at once, I honestly thought our food was going to take ages to come, but the two women did a superb job of managing all orders and we only waited 10-15min. Polite, courteous and very fast and efficient. The space was surprisingly big with room outside at the rear, toilets clean as well - We all really like this place and will most definitely be coming back again, highly recommended for anyone happening to be in Cambridge! Thank you to all staff and owners, great place to dine!

Very happy with the service and food quality. We spilled some of the soda and they were kind enough to give us another bottle on the house. As there was a slight delay to our order - they got busy just as we arrived - they also gave us humus and pitta bread on the house! Definitely worth more visits.

Good food. Not too expensive. Service little slow, but was there in busy time, so not too bad.

The food was tasty and very warm, and the service was friendly and helpful. The sweet potato fries were to die for! Very reasonably priced for the portion size.

Excellent service and staff! I came with a large family for a day trip to Cambridge on Monday and we enjoyed our meal and the service. Definitely recommend to families and friends.

I felt we got some pretty good healthy food for the price. I wish the salad had a light dressing of some sort; it had none so I mixed it with the seasoned chicken. I also wish there was a non-soda drink option for the variety plate.

Welcome back to R&H's crazy food reviews, This time we'll be talking about our peri average meal at The Ladz. Service was standard - you are given a menu and then go up to the counter to order. Food came out in ~10 minutes and was fresh. The food itself was extremely average, with the mozzarella sticks coming out on top. Whilst chicken should be the selling point of a peri peri establishment, their chicken wasn't soft or tender and their sauce was slathered ontop, overwhelming all other flavours. The diner booth was a pro, but the atmosphere was meh otherwise and the mayo bottle had a hole in the side making application messy. We won't be returning. Until next time, Pasta la Vista.

Used to be good once upon a time. 5 star. Now it’s horrible. Milkshake was good though, hence two stars instead of one

Nice Restaurant, very friendly and courteous staff, halal and tasty food would recommend anyone to visit and will not be disappointed. Children’s menu is available, simple but concise..

Very nice place. The food is good and spot on with the flavors. I like how subdued the background music was. It was possible to actually hold a conversation in there.

We went out with family to dine in. They had no lamb or beef burgers which we could have dealt with but there was a smell like gone off meat or raw sewage. I asked one of the staff if they could sort it out. They said the kitchen door is closed so they couldn’t do anything else. Then she said it might also be from the toilets. You should be able to tell the difference between the smell from your kitchen and the toilets. In the end it got so bad all the kids were covering their noses and I started to feel sick. So we left.

Visited over multiple days and tried multiple burger options. All were great, especially the peri chicken burger. The peri chicken strips were tender and full of flavour and the chips were crispy Also the lamb burger was great too. The only slight let down was the chicken wrap which had too much sauce otherwise the review would have been 5 stars.

Menu prices online aren’t the actual price … overpriced for what it is. Lamb chops were so chewy it wasn’t enjoyable (even though the sauce was nice). Burgers decent.

Service was good however if you plan on going do not get a burger and chips. Chips were drenched in peri salt like drenched, only at the top of the chips they clearly dont know how to salt chips (they didn't shake the cup of chips so it wasnt mixed) burger covered in burger sauce (Did not taste like burger sauce at all) and some other sauce chicken slipping out of my burger. Chicken tasted bland . I would avoid going here again unless the learn how to salt there chips properly and make nice chicken.

Highly recommended and if you come cambridge and dont try this out your visit will be waste! I bet you... If you wanna get tasty food order extra hot in flavor and then you will know why i gave 5 stars I loved the ladz food and shisha (hookah) ❤️

Having read so many good reviews I could not believe how poor the place was. Waited at the till a while as the girls was on the phone. Food was really poor. Chicken strips were cold and my wife's rice was as dry as a desert and was clearly microwaved. I ordered a so called gourmet burger which was far from gourmet. Absolutely no quality or love given to the food.

Very disappointed, got the butterfly chicken, which was a chicken breast with a portion of chips, not even any side salad. Very basic and not worth the £11.

Alright prices, but the flavour we chose was not good at all. We chose Mango tango and I’ve read other reviews now that mention that it’s not good. I wish we saw it before we went. The corn on the cob tasted like nothing and the texture felt like it was reheated. The chips portion is definitely not enough for 2 in a platter. Overall we were disappointed with our food, but the rest of our family members enjoyed theres as they chose a different flavour. The service was amazing though hence the three stars.

Cambridge does not need a halal nandos guys. Come here instead. The food was fantastic. I ordered half chicken with a side of rice and a drink. The chicken was perfect and the flavours were spot on. The rice was delicious and the portion was huge. At least 4 times what you get in nandos. Service was quick and staff were lovely. Would highly recommend.

The Lads was a great restaurant that I’ve seen in Cambridge after seeing the mosque I came with my family and cousins we ate in the garden ikr a garden. chickens was soooo nice and the chips 🍟 strait up 5 stars ✨, I loved this restaurant I hope you will love it too! Bye ✌️

Nice grilled chicken, clean shop with friendly service, similar to nandos (You order at the till and food is then bought to your table,)has 5 * rating for hygiene, food was freshly prepared and tasty, i would go again.

Awful service, but they do have good food. Unfortunately will never return there because I ordered online 20 min before arriving and got taxi to the centre of Cambridge to pick up the food to discover that they hadn't prepared my order as apparently they only got it when I arrived, even though I ordered paid online. They said I had to wait another 20 min for the order to be ready. I had a taxi waiting, I couldn't wait 20 min so asked for a refund. Apparently he couldn't refund me and his manager was going to refund me. After pressing further to speak to the manager, he returned with a laptop to show me that they had refunded and said it's take 3 working days to receive the money back.. not going back there again!

Stopped off here on way back to London. I went there based on previous reviews. I have to say I was mega impressed. Easily best Peri Peri I have had. The sauce was just amazing. Better than Nandos no doubt about it. Well priced too. Wish they had a branch in London. Would be my regular spot.

Loved the food here! Was similar to nandos. I got box 1 meal, I wanted to try something different so I opted for the mango tango flavour but I didn't like it. Great solid meal with Peri-Peri chicken (grilled and sauced) and burgers. Came hungry and left full. The Spoke with the owner and his dedication to making this a great spot was appreciated. Wish I was local to come back to regularly.

Decent size portions and food taste was spot on . Preferred the beef burger to the lamb and chilli cheese nuggets were also quite good. The interior isn't great but if you want some great tasting peri peri chicken or burgers at a reasonable price then this place is worth a visit for sure.

Lovely travelled from Leeds over 150 miles. Was worth every mile, felt so welcome and the food was amazing just hope they come up closer to home, cheers The ladz
