Friendly staff, food smelled and looks good although only here for a pint. Guinness is a good pint too.

First time there but nice . Not many in was surprised for a Saturday night but a pleasant evening the food was OK. My husband had whitebait for starters said it was very good. Main course nice but a bit small on portions but nice. Beer nice pleasant evening with friends.

Absolutely brilliant place to stay. We only stayed for a night, but the place was so clean and cosy, tucked away in a nice quiet spot. The bed was very comfy and we were snug as bugs in a rug! We were welcomed so warmly and had lively chats with the owner. The food was delicious. We had a nice walk down a country lane or two. We'd stay here again at the drop of a hat, really enjoyed it, thank you!

Really good local pub. Went for a meal and the food was pretty good. The quantity and quality were spot on. The service was exceptionally good. Attentive without being intrusive. I wish to compliment the landlady on this.

Went here for dinner, it was quiet but we sat in the bar with our dog. Good service, didn’t have to wait too long for our meal. Both stuffed! Easy parking! Currently lots of covered outdoors for footy

A friendly and traditional country pub serving good and reasonably priced food and a decent pint.

Miles cheaper than anywhere else. Good classic pub food. Had small issue with mixed up order but rectified quickly and free drinks to make up for it. Crème brûlée top could do with perfecting 😂 but I’d say it’s a bit fancy anyway for a pub and cream bit was still amazing. Service and hospitality impeccabl thank you!!

Missed lunch but friendly atmos

Absolutely lovely village pub, great place with amazing staff, so friendly. The food was gorgeous proper pub grub, they let dogs in too which is a bonus.

Great food and great host. Good honest home cooked food at great value. On holiday in the area and we have been in twice.

Sitting outside in their shaded 'couched area' was relaxing and the drinks cool and refreshing. Their cheese & mac dish with garlic bread was delicious as were the choice of sandwiches with side-salad, crisps or mini wire baskets of yummy chips! 👌😋

Great place, good food, excellent staff /atmosphere and good value for money. My wife and I are here visiting friends and they are regular customers. So they suggested that we come here, I'm glad, they did. It was well worth the visit, and we will definitely be back in the future.

Cosy friendly great menu staff a great asset

Huge jacket potato 🥔 delicious 😋 super tomato soup . And the cottage pie also really really nice but portion could of been bigger on that one. Hungry hubby! defo recommended to visit this beautiful pub, and the bar staff went above and beyond with a cheerful smile.

Stopped here for some lunch, I had a BLT which was very nice, staff were very friendly and the pub had a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Typical local village pub, would definitely go again if in the area.

Dropped by for an impromptu bar meal. Waited over 30 minutes for food which was microwaved to within an inch of its life. Mac cheese and steak pie welded to the bowls and chips like bullets. Never again.

Couldn't ask for much more, held a wake in the back room, had drinks as people walked in and the buffet was a very good mixture of hot and cold food, very enjoyable, nothing was to much trouble, would like tho thank Kim and the rest of staff, thank you so much.

My first time at the chequers and what a night. Amazing atmosphere great jam night. Everyone having a great time. It's one of those heart of the village pubs. A proper pub, with real people that just enjoy themselves. We shall be back. Honesty as always people. X

We love coming here to eat the food is great and the staff are very friendly. But on the last occasion we visited the food was good but the service was very poor.

Good local pub but the pint of cask ale I had wasn't so good unfortunately.

Great lunch, good size food. Warm and friendly staff. Dog friendly as cooked and made a little meal for our dog. Special treat of the locals playing his guitar and a sing along. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.

Very poor. Was a great venue once but now a place that is poorly patronized, no atmosphere and not very welcoming. A sad reflection on past times.

You pays your money and you take a chance. When I go out to eat I expect as good as or better than home just didn't happen here tasteless food, poor service and not even comfortable surroundings won't bother again.
