Phansa Thai Restaurant & Takeaway in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

We’ve had dinner and lunch a couple of times and also takeaway. Every time very good and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The owner and family are friendly and efficient. It’s a joy to visit.

The food is delicious, a lovely little restaurant. I had takeaway, ordered the Set menus to get a feel of Phansa, except I forgot about it being per head and bought way to much 😀 anyway I didn't care it was delicious over 2 days 😀. Will try the menu when I visit my family again and we eat. Delicious 😋

The best Thai food I have ever tasted, we treated ourselves to a wonderful takeaway. This is my go to restaurant from now even though we had to drive a fair way to get to it. 15% discounts for takeaway 😀

We have been to Phansa twice to eat and both times the food has been disappointing, very mediocre against the food we enjoyed in Thailand. We waited ages to have our order taken and even get our drinks. This time all the dishes were only lukewarm and with the mains we had to wait for the rice to arrive which had been forgotten. The service was chaotic. We will not go there again, such a pity.

A lovely family meal. The food was really tasty, and the presentation of dishes was excellent. A friendly welcome and engaging service throughout our stay. Only a couple of minor critiques - table wasn't big enough for all the dishes! Does anyone want Cliff Richards playing when eating? 🙄

Really lovely atmosphere. Everyone is amazingly friendly. Would come back just to be part of the mix again, but the food makes it a must! Fabulous food. Best glass noodles I’ve ever had (suki yaki). So flavourful and beautiful heat. Deep fried squid cooked perfectly. Soft and unctuous! More please! The corn cakes and chicken wings were delicious. The crispy duck in tamarind sauce had amazing depth. The plain noodles and rice dishes were lovely. We would love to come back soon and try more of the menu. If you’re in the area, you should give them a go!

Hands down the best Phad See-Eew I’ve eaten, and that’s something as I’ve had many great ones when living in Australia (man, the Aussies are great at Thai). The perfect blend of sweet and salty-ness: combined with a hint of spice, just divine. Plus, the portion size was great, and the value outstanding. Truly, a Thai food hidden gem.

I can't recommend it enough. The food is exceptional. Beautifully presented and delicious. I would suggest trying a Thai green and Thai tea. The staff are very friendly, polite and the service is quick. One of the best Thai restaurants we ever tried!

Lovely food and lovely people. Also open for lunch with a fixed menu option. Cha yen, thai iced tea, was strong and sweet as it should be and the food was excellent.

Came here for father's day and it was an absolute shock at just how good the food was! Really was above and beyond anything I have ever eaten before in the UK. The staff were really friendly and the food was just excellent! I'd highly recommend.

Excellent food and service. Only gave 4 stars for atmosphere as we were the only customers at lunchtime on a Tuesday. Surprised more people don’t visit as food is great and good value for money.

Just got back from dining at this gem of a restaurant. The food was amazing, extremely tasty and portions were big. You certainly won't leave feeling hungry. The staff were lovely and extremely attentive. Great value for money, will definitely return. Can't recommend it enough.

Phansa is without a doubt the BEST takeaway in Downham Market! We've been working in the area and my partner and I get their food at every opportunity (seriously, 2-3 times a week!) I LOVE all their noodle dishes, and my partner's favourite is the Massaman curry. The food is always so fresh, with filling portions. Phansa is what I'm going to miss most when our work relocates us - thank you so much for keeping us so well-fed!!

I normally don’t normally leave reviews but in this case I have to. Myself and family come to Downham market every few months and this is my partners go to restaurant! It’s so authentic and delicious, the atmosphere is welcoming, wonderful and so friendly. We feel like family when we visit! The owners are the loveliest people and so welcoming. The two English girls, I believe are mother and daughter, are an asset to the restaurant. Super customer service skills, friendly and attentive! They go above a d beyond! 10/10

A soothing and calming atmosphere as you are greeted with most friendliest welcome. The food is extremely authentic, presented elegantly by the chef himself who looks after you as well as the waiters/waitresses. Their menu has a wide variety of amazing Thai dishes from starters to desserts portioned well. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a huge fan of South East Asian cuisine like I am and will be returning as many times as possible.

We visited Thai restaurant just before Christmas and i forgot to do a review we plan to go for another visit in the coming weeks. They have a great selection of starters for 2, Dim Sun, Thai fish cakes, deep fried squid and it was absolutely delicious. for our mains we had chicken phad Thai, beef panang curry, weeping tiger, steamed jasmine rice, jumbo prawns Tamarind, crispy belly pork and chefs special fried rice. the food has lots of flavours and the staff were friendly they made us wellcome. We will be visiting again soon.

Sitting at are table got asked to move from the four seater to a two seater as the waitress said that a table of four where coming in so didn't mind then two people came in sat at the table all night so was a bit pissed of as we had the smallest table ever with no space at all

We’ve just visited tonight and I had to share how wonderful the food was and how friendly and inviting the staff were. Being a frequent visitor of Thailand, I’ve eaten a lot of Thai and I have to say this is probably the best I’ve had in the UK. Everything tasted authentic, with loads of flavour which you only get with Thai food and all was well presented. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly, I speak only a little Thai, but it was enough for them to make my family and I more welcome. I highly recommend and I can’t wait to come back again. ✨🙏🏼 ขอบคุณ🪷✨

Ordered our takeaway to be delivered, which arrived on time, however did not meet our expectations, the crispy pork was nothing other than chewy meat? Spicy prawn crackers in edible, when called to complain was told this was due to time it took to deliver, delivery being £7, would expect the food to be of the same standard/quality as if was in the restaurant, if not have a separate takeaway menu, or just refuse to deliver if going to effect the quality

Wonderful personal place, the food was excellent, £7 starter £15 main plus £4 rice, very good quality, fresh and beautifully presented food and generous portions. Friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed and would visit again.

Never had Thai before from a restaurant. Absolutely delicious, it might even be the tastiest take away I have ever eaten.

My wife and I have eaten here twice, and the food and service is excellent. They have a wide selection of starters and mains, and great wine. The restaurant is clean, well presented, and in a convenient location. We'll be back again soon!

Very welcoming and friendly service. We tried several side dishes to start with, and they were all delicious. The flowers made out of swede were a piece of art!

The best Thai food I have had. I have found this restaurant when i have been working away and it has blown my mind. My second consecutive night eating here! I really cannot recommend this place enough. The staff just top off the experience. Kind, friendly and attentive.. I will come back next week when I am back. I will really struggle to find somewhere in Derby/Nottingham to match the quality!

An excellent meal in Downham Market. The starters were well presented, the massaman curry & panang curry were flavoursome - the pad Thai noodles were also tasty and plentiful! A lovely meal! Looking forward to our next visit!

Been some years since I've eaten here, but can wholly recommend Dangs. The food was beautifully cooked and presented, and unexpected birthday surprise from Dangs team presented at the end! Well done Dangs, and thank you for making the evening so special.

Staff were friendly. Our order of takeaway green curries were provided quickly, of a decent size and were really tasty. Would definitely visit again!

Superb food, better than any nearby Chinese and they well-justify their prices (which are high). Delivery service is fast when available. Online ordering would make us happier and fatter.

Please save your money nearly £45 so ordered 2 rice and 2 different mains.got 2 noodles and 2 identical mains??? Order taker I repeated order twice to her English girl ,when your spending that amount of money you expect the order to be correct.disgusted.

Very flavourful massaman curry, cooked fresh only a 20 minute wait, not bad considering how busy the restaurant was.

Ordered a take out as I was staying away from home for work. Staff were very polite and friendly. Starter: Chicken Satay - Excellent, very good flavour and beautifully cooked chicken. I could have just eaten this. Main: Chicken spicy noodles - Again very good, nicely cooked chicken, well spiced, slightly sticky noodles which I prefer, nice veg. I wouldn’t hesitate to use again if I was in the area.

I would've added pictures but I was hungry, do it's all gone! Lady was nice and pleasant, even though the place was extra busy which is a good sign the food is good. The food was tasty the green vegetables did taste a bit chemically, it might of been my taste buds. Food was well cooked. The portions aren't as much as you would have if you would live in the city (there's still space in the tubs provided).

Some friends of ours (who have been regular's to Dang's) rave about this place, so we thought we'd go for an evening meal with them to try it out. My initial reaction was that the décor was very dated and is in need of modernisation, although that aside we was pleasantly greeted by what appeared to be the owner / manager and the only waitress working whilst we were there. It was relatively quite with only two other tables occupied. We was shown to our table and ordered drinks followed by ordering our food, which considering other reviews and what our friends had said I thought the food was average at best. It was a nice evening catching up with our friends, trying somewhere new for food, and all was fine until the other two tables left, leaving us (a table of four) chatting for around 20 - 30 minutes after finishing our food. It was at this point the waitress clearly started to get impatient and wanted us to leave, whereby she proceeded to continually walk loudly past our table and lean against a wall near to us tapping her finger nails on the wall in a manner to which came across as 'hurry up and get out'. We continued trying to catch up with our friends knowing we wouldn't be too much longer, the waitress then switched off all the lights in the window, collecting the payment card machine on her way from the window to the wall whereby she proceeded to lean against the wall again tapping her finger nails as a hint for us to leave. At this point we were made to feel extremely awkward and unwelcome so we asked for the bill, by which the waitress abruptly placed it on our table without saying anything and walked back to the wall tapping her finger nails. After about five minutes she again abruptly walked up to our table without asking how we'd like to pay and simply stood by our table with the card machine. Needless to say, we didn't leave a tip... However, maybe the person from Dang's who is able to react to this review, you could train your waitress in the numerous styles of politely ushering guests / customers from their table without being rude. We will not be visiting again and our friends even said they will look to go elsewhere in future!

Very popular place to eat. We had the Thai Red curry with tiger prawn, not to spicy, would recommend this place.

Wonderful food - The best Thai food we have had outside of Thailand. Each dish is freshly prepared and the flavours are awesome. Welcoming staff, great ambiance, a wonderful dining experience. We will be returning again.

Staying nearby and was planning a meal out tonight, but first we checked their hygiene rating on the app. Good thing we did, they were awarded a 3/5 in November 2020. Which is made up of: hygiene 10/25, structural 5/25 and management 10/30. Avoid places like this until they clean their act up!

The dining area has been decorated and now feels bland, Thai music replaced with Western music. It seems to me that the new decor does not absorb sound like the previous style, this meant that every boring word from an American fellow Diner could be heard. Our food whilst very tasty, didn't seem to be of the same standard as previous visits, not as flavoursome

Been going to Dangs for years as best place I'd ever been! Went other night, first time in ages, changed chef and who was running it.. it was good, but run of the mill good.. jeez that food used to be on another planet, sadly not now.. Gutted 😢

Tried for first time today. Very good! If you're not a fan of extra spicy food, be careful. Some of the food was too spicy for my family but I liked it. We did order items labeled as spicy, but we didn't expect that amount of heat.

Good food, but never on time. Takes over an hour for a takeaway. Arrive as directed and waited a further 45 minutes. Not Fast Food so allow plenty of time.

We ordered our first takeaway last night. Absolutely fabulous. Great food, great service. Will be reordering soon and will most definitely be going in to the restaurant for a meal. 5 star, would give more if I could.

I've dined in the restaurant a few times over a few years but we ordered food to be delivered today as a locked-down birthday treat, and it was faultless. The incredible authentic flavours took us back to exploring Thailand, the portions were generous and the price standard. I'd recommend Dang's to anyone familiar with or tempted to try Thai food.

Visited a friend in Downham Market and decided to stay in and get a takeaway delivered. And whats a pleasant surprise this little gem was. The Tastiest meal I have had in a long time. Highly recommend!

Amazing food but a little expensive...decor is tired

We always have a lovely meal and brilliant service at Dang's, the best Thai food we have had and a relaxed atmosphere.

Let’s get one thing straight from the off, the food is of the highest quality and really fresh (like bel air fresh). The service is very good, I’ve not had the pleasure of dining. Only the take away as I like to smoke a blunt on the way and by the time I get home I’m so blazed everything tastes awesome. If I could improve it in anyway maybe ninja outfits for staff and a high five on all orders over 40.00.
