Well run restaurant.really worth a visit

There is so much food on a roast sharing platter, we purchased 2 platters between 4 people, and wow, what a serving. Luckily, they box the leftovers as it would be a shame to waste such lovely food. We would have liked to try the deserts but we're all so full up trying to get through the platters, for sure we will be returning to sample more of the menu.

A brilliant place to come for food. All excellent and would highly recommend it.

Highly recommend this pub,we went here as they take dogs as we were staying local and we werent dissapointed.we had the roast platter to share was lovely and so much food.we will return.thankyou

Had the specials fish shop platter- it had a x1 F&C, 2 fried sausages, few canapé pies (not homemade), mushy peas and curry sauce and few chips- not worth the £30. We’d have been better off buying off the menu at least we’d have got two whole meals! Tasty, but I’d advise buying a meal off the menu not this special.

This pub has a really nice atmosphere with a log fire in the restaurant area. There are a few steps, but there are other areas near the bar with accessible tables for wheelchair. We went in a cold winter's day but there are tables outside. Food is really good and is prepared as and when ordered. Good car parking.

This pub takes Sunday roasts to a level that could qualify as an extreme sport. From the moment you step in, the staff greet you and before you know it, you’re seated, drink in hand, staring down the most generous roast platter known to humankind. Plates arrive heaving under the weight of perfectly cooked meats, crispy roast potatoes, mountains of veg, and enough Yorkshire puddings to build a small fortress. There’s gravy. So much gravy. A dissapointing sunday lunch, they sat 7 of us squashed in a small table in a drafty area of the pub not the restaurant it was cold and right near the door the kitchen and till, staff where constantly walking past causing a draft very noisy area too, we order the roast platers and it was evident they where not going to fit on the table my daughter nearly had hers on her lap which was all a shame as the food itself was very nice the chicken could have been nicer but the beef and pork were cooked to perfection and a good amount of vegetables dissapointed as could have been such a nicer experience for all

So glad we stopped here on our way home. If you want very tasty pub grub you’ll do well to beat this place. Great, friendly service too. We’ll be back.

Myself and a friend went for a meal, I had the burger and my friend had the hunters chicken both were really nice, good value for money, nice clean restaurant and friendly service, definitely recommend

What an amazing platter for Sunday roast! We felt welcomed the moment we stepped in, lovely staff with a friendly vibe-the place was packed! Drinks were prompt and hot plates arrived ahead of the table platters. Beef cooked pink just as we asked, the food was 10/10. We will definitely come back, well done guys-fabulous hospitality equalled by fabulous food!

We had a lovely Sunday roast (first ever) while spending a family Christmas in the UK. The staff were very friendly. Food was family sharable and very good, particularly the ham and Yorkshire puddings.

Friendly service, went for Christmas meal off set menu. There was plenty of food and vegetables. The best bit, we didn't even have to ask for extra gravy, 4 boat fulls were brought to the table. Every course was delicious. My only comment would be it would have been nice to have a coffee or tea in the set menu price.

Last minute booking for 2 and staff managed to squeeze us in. Very friendly and welcoming staff, lovely atmosphere and comfortable bar area. Food was AMAZING! Had starters of Stilton & pickled fig salad and cheese & jalapeño bites, both dishes delicious. Mains ordered Lamb burger with parma ham and brie, totally fabulous! And partner had an 8oz rump steak perfectly cooked blue and honestly looked a lot bigger than 8oz! Brilliant quality and excellent value (£55 for 2 courses each and 1 pint each). Would more than happily visit again.

Good parking and easy to get to . Service was brilliant with the best pint of Guinness I had in Norfolk . Food was fast out with a very hot and perfectly cook beef and lamb roast . Overall an Excellent experience .

We went with friends for Sunday lunch and both had the roast platter for two (booked in advance). The meat was cooked to perfection and the roast potatoes were delicious. What stood out most though was the service. The landlady had the most loveliest wit and banter and our waitress Amelia was efficient and friendly and always served with a smile despite the fact they were all run off their feet. We will be coming back (lots) and have no hesitation in recommending this fantastic place.

Shame about the 45 minutes wait to collect food that was ordered the previously day. Notwithstanding, Good quality roast beef platter, with plenty of food for two.

Honestly One of the best pubs and meals I’ve ever had Simple fish and chips Was just so nice I can still taste it a week later, We went back the night after ( on holiday ) Had the chicken and was superb, and great value - 6 of us and was has cheap as the awful takeaway nearby Will Definatly visit again

Disappointing Sunday roast food- quantity over quality. The roast came as a huge sharing platter. Boiled Peas, cauliflower broccoli and carrots all cooked more than I like and certainly not Al dente as I prefer. Also served with New potatoes and roast potatoes. The roasties were burnt and tasted awful. We asked for them to be replaced which they did. However they were replaced with more potatoes that had been through the deep fryer and not great either. It was not all bad. The meat was good, my beef was medium rare and tasty. Local Norfolk Rose wine was great and would recommend and you can’t go wrong with a pint of Wherry ale. Service was good but the chef should be ashamed as a professional person. For me the concept is flawed. Giving people so much food you need to offer people a takeaway box with every meal is not what I want from a Sunday roast.

Had a delicious roast platter outside to enjoy the beautiful countryside. The meal was very good - but even better was the stack of boxes available to take the leftovers home for another day.

A hidden gem in the village of Roydon, Norfolk. True value for money and a great drinks selection. Pictured is the roast platter of beef and a German pilsner. Food quality is superb and quantity is very good for the cost . Staff are attentive, warm and helpful. Have been here a few times and quality is consistent. Pub has a car park and is good size. Would highly recommend this pub either for a quick drink or for a meal, in my experience booking is necessary especially on Sundays.

I initially booked a table for 1pm a month prior as it was a bigger table, I then had a call to ask if it was ok to change the time to 2pm which I did as they said they were busy. I had pre-ordered the Sunday sharing platters for my party of 8 the day before, the order was checked twice once we arrived and the staff member got it wrong when repeating it back on both occasions. We then had to wait an hour before we got our main courses. Once we had finished we waited a long time before the table was cleared so ordered desserts whilst the table was being cleared in the hope they would arrive quickly, two of the party ordered coffees to have with their desserts. The coffees arrived quickly but we had to wait a further 30 minutes before our desserts came. I wasn’t overly impressed with the food but the service was appalling, it seemed like the kitchen couldn’t keep up with the amount of people dining and there were not enough front of house staff to give good service. I won’t be returning.

Visiting the area and our hosts had wanted to visit for a while so a Monday trip there was on the cards. A simple menu on the wall tiles and plenty of ales to choose from Woodford’s Wherry and a mid week pork roast - so big I couldn’t finish it ! Perfectly done veg for me and plenty of it.

One of the most enjoyable meals we’ve had in the UK so far. The friendly waitress customized our Sunday roast platter to be half vegetarian… “nut roast”. It was all so delicious, and the portions generous. We had no room for dessert but would have loved to enjoy the Eton Mess. Parking was plentiful. We were able to sit inside but there was a nice garden patio as well.

Went for evening meal with husband. We had starters and main course. I had prosciutto and Brie salad followed by hunters chicken. Husband went for pate followed by loaded chilli hot dog. The food was delicious and we will certainly be back again

Great service, short notice been under the weather and craved a roast and the reviews drew us here foe a take away . It's hard to keep produce which I understand but would deffo recommend eating in house...... gravy oily, meat chewy but the yorkies and roasties amazing..... will come again but rat in instead of take away.... thank you 😊

We were down in King's Lynn picking up a new car, and were looking for somewhere to grab dinner before the long drive home. Thought this place looked really nice so gave it a try. Really happy we did, from the off the place was as nice inside as it was out. The staff were lovely, especially the young lady who served us for our meals, she couldn't have been more helpful. It looks like the meal selection changes regularly. There was a good selection of options, very reasonably priced and when it came out it was really nice. We've booked to stay at a nearby cottage at the end of summer, so have already decided we'll make sure to walk through the pretty village a few times for a few drinks and meals etc. Lovely place.

Popped in after shopping in Wisbech, ordered a Burger and Chips and a pint of Guinness, and a Coke Cola. Great staff and service, lovely meal enjoyed by my wife and I. We will also be returning in the future, for the Steak Saturday experience. We would thoroughly recommend both as a pub and restaurant..

Good pub, mainly food led, but the food is good and well kept real ales are available.

Lovely friendly staff...great food. Would have been all five stars ..but service was a little slow and the Easter cookie pudding was a little disappointing. However, overall, it was very good, and we would come again. Chicken and veg pie was excellent.

A really lovely pub with friendly helpful staff. Food is fab, but I've scored it low due to a lack of veggie and vegan options, just one starter and one main when I visited and I'm not sure, but I don't think any of the puddings were vegan.

What a great team at this lovely village pub. We had a problem with our bike,we had cycled 4 miles for a meal with friends and couldn't get back to our camp site. The bar staff made a few phone calls and a friendly local came to our rescue. Food was amazing beer lovely 🍺🍺👍👍
