Food was good, curry sauce very thick.

Nothing wrong with this fish and chip takeaway. It's reasonably priced, large portions (even on a regular fish) and cooked fresh. I'm glad I came across it. Parking is free after 4pm in the carpark next door.

Great quality food and Great telephone manners the young lady working the telephone. This is a medium haddock and chips it was perfect and the curry sauce was the best I've ever had

Nice piece of cod and cooked well but a little bit greasy. You get a good portion of 🍟 chip's. Parking is at the side of the fish shop, which is a pay and display. I would recommend this fish and chips shop.

What a lovely customer service they are amazing 👏 😀 I sometimes just come for a large chips ,and a very close friend has a chip stall on great yarmouth market that does great chips but shuts for the evening so get them here ,they always welcoming and great 👍 highly recommend 😀

Lovely friendly little place food was really tasty would definitely visit again

Ordered online waited 40mins then a driver comes to my door trying to give me someone else order I do the right thing and refuse the food as it is someone else, I then phone the chip shop and ask where my food is they turn around and say the driver gave my food to the wrong person and the only thing I can do is phone just eat and wait for a refund in 5-7 days. They didn’t offer to cook my food or anything disgusting customer service will never order from them again.

Used to love this place was our local and we kept going back after we moved. Recommended it to my family and friends also. Sadly I won't be returning all the acompliments to the chips were fine (other than the scampi) but the chips were awful, to us it was like they had been reheated from lunch they were grey and very greasy too. Such as shame not sure if it has changed owners but very disappointed!

Orders from just eat and missing items phoned them and was rude this is the second time we have ordered from them and was told not our problem we sent it but missing from the order just eat drivers must of taken it, But part of the order has arrived so doubt they have taken just the kids meals.

Ordered and waited 2 hours for food, had a phone call from a random number saying they were outside so looked and no one outside, waited another 20 mins and then called the said number 5 times with no reply so rang the restaurant and was told either the food was delivered to the wrong place or the driver ate it himself!! No help, no contact numbers and no refund!!

The roast chicken was as dry as the Sahara Desert. Inedible. Chips tasted like it was cooked in old oil. I gave it to my dog, poor thing had to lick its bum for an hour after to get the taste of the food out of its mouth. Will not order again

Last night, 5 of us had a takeaway delivered. Three of us were up during the night with sickness. Not impressed, can only put it down to the oil used as didn't all have the same type of fish. Shame as last week's delivery was great. It's put us off using Crystal again.

Such a shame. I loved this place and always thought it was brilliant. I hadn't had fish and chips here for some time. We ordered twice recently for 5 of us on two separate Saturdays. The fish is actually gorgeous. We all said the fish is some of the best we've had from a chippy. When we got it, both times it was greasy but as it tasted lovely thought nothing of it. Didn't seem like there was anything wrong with it on both occasions. Unfortunately the second time we ordered, 3 out of 5 of us were sick that night even though we all ordered different things. Sad to say will be finding another chippy :(

First time ordering on a Friday night. Wow, such a great tasting meal. We ordered a medium and large cod. X2 chips and mushy peas and curry sauce. My new favourite chippy. Great portions and tasted incredible 👌

I'm sure this place is under new management, a year or so ago it was brilliant, the cod was pure white and flaky, chunky and fresh, lightly battered and no grease or excess water, the chips were cooked to perfection, it's nothing like that anymore, now you get greasy, over cooked fish, batter thats like tree bark, under cooked chips that leave a film of grease in the mouth, and the portions are half the size to what they used to be. Bring this place back to how it used to be, otherwise its demise is inevitable. PJs fish bar just down the road is far superior.

The hips are dry like oven chips. Tasteless. The fish which was supposed to be haddock was not fresh and dripping in fat. The 4 kids didn't eat it and they always love there fish n chips. Terrible awful

This was in no doubt the worst fish and chips I've ever had in my life. The fish was full of salt soggy not fresh and questionably haddock!!! The chips are vile. Dry like oven chips. Hideous

Our taxi driver last night recommended this place (wouldn't have stopped otherwise). Really nice fish & chips, good value and parking close by, will be back. The most enormous portion of chips I've ever seen in my life!!

We have just had our haddock n chips n mushy peas delivered, this chippy deserves nomination for chip shop award. I am not kidding when I say, the freshest fish with not a drop of grease, it was incredible... I can highly recommend giving them a try.Well done Crystal and keep up those perfect standards.

Called here whilst on holiday after a long drive. Had fish and chips, the fish was lovely with a huge portion of tasty chips. Service was excellent. Not expensive either.

We're not big fish and chip eaters but we know what a good portion should be like. The market place was heaving due to the festival that was on, queues to the chip stalls were huge. We had previously been told about this fish and chip shop being very good, so wandered over and it was empty. Ordered two portions of medium cod and two small chips. Waited for it to be cooked, asked if we could take two chairs and eat outside. Meals arrived and we took outside. Two generous portions of skinned fresh cod(not frozen)with beautiful large white translucent flakes cooked to perfection, crispy light batter and lovely chips, all for £11.30.Whilst we ate more people came and we enthused about the quality of our meal Will definitely return when next visiting Great Yarmouth.

Over-rated. Maybe it’s quantity ether than quality driving good reviews? We chose this place because of the good reviews and because of its proximity to Aldi and Asda, where we shopped as we passed through the port on a boat. At the time of our visit it was cash only. The online menu is 7 years out if date. The fish was certainly cooked to order and our family sampled cod (skinless) and haddock (skin on) together with a ( decent size) battered sausage. The fish was nice but we could not distinguish the large haddock compared to a medium one. The batter was not great but we’ve had much worse. The chips were unfortunately quite soggy. The portion size for the chips was ridiculous. We think of ourselves greedy but struggled to eat half the quantity provided. (we actually ate the leftover half the following day unlike others who fed the seagulls). Our conclusion was that the food was average - not bad - but not great. The most distinguishing feature was the HUGE portions of chips.

Called in here on Saturday 4 th sept for cod and chips pie and chips two chicken burgers and 2 chips , mushy peas , the pie was disgusting hardly any chicken tiny pieces the gravy in it was dry it felt as if it had been in there all day,,, the chicken burgers what a joke piece of rubbery chicken on plain cheap bap, no sauce no salad, we got loads of chips , in the portions, but what oil you cook with I don’t know leaves a horrible taste in your mouth . The fish wasn’t to bad batter could have been better , as for the woman who served needs practice in manners when taking orders shouting what was that!!! I said a portion of chips please, she shouted A Portion of WHAT !!! I saw other customers look as if to say my god , at least won’t be on my list to come back

The fish and chips here are the BEST I have ever had! I’m not local and was just visiting on holiday but when I visit Great Yarmouth again I will most definitely be popping to Crystal Fish Bar again, just delicious!!

The food is good, I've had better, I've had worse. But my god, the portion sizes of chips!! We ordered 3 portions of chips and even though we had far too many on our pates, I had enough left over for another meal on a different night. They reheated OK. So if you have lots of mouths to feed this is a good option.

Well second birthday in lockdown so no trips out. Really fancied fish and chips, first time since lockdown and they had our favourite fish Rock eel, although we know it as Rock Salmon. Pre ordered collected on-time and wow wow!! What a great decision they were superb. Chips were crisp and dry, the batter was lovely not too thick just perfect. Thanks for making my birthday meal so delicious. Won't be waiting until my next birthday to visit again.

Well the story goes that one of the other chip shops was closed early, I had seen they were open before when in passing. I was clearly informed with good clear signage that a mask is needed before entering the shop. I had a beef/onion pie with large chips, the staff are very quickly dealing with the order and very engaging to talk with you while you wait. The chips were utterly magnificent when I got home and pie was still warm (I'm at least ten mins across town from the shop on my bike). Having enjoyed the chips so much, I fancied another try the next day, where a Steak/Kidney pie was cooked especially. With only a mere 10 or 12 min wait. Staff are so friendly, the food is magic and at £3.80 for pie and chips, who's going to grumble at that? A Subway deal is about £5+ for a footling thing. It's one of the first Chippies you'll find upon entering the town and there is a pay/display carpark nearby for anyone who needs it. I used to use ones that were closer but I think I'd still prefer the extra distance if the chips stay this consistently good.....

Amazing quality fish and chips. You actually get what you order.. Large cod and chips?.. You get large cod and chips. Other chippies should follow their example of Great quality, Great value and Great portions.. I've waited 20yrs for a decent chip shop like this that doesn't try to palm you off with tiddly little portions of greasy rubbish for stupid prices.. Well done.. Keep up this good old-fashioned, great value and courteous service that's been absent for so long.

Best chippy we've been to for a while. The chicken fillet burger was tasty and cooked perfectly. The chips were equally as nice. Seemed like a very well family run business. Recommend anyone to order from here.

Out of all the fish and chip places we could have gone to I'm so glad we went to Crystal! They food here is so lovely and filling, we had the chicken burger and fish cake which were so nice. The chips are the best I've had in a good while!

Whilst visiting the Great Yarmouth area, spotted Crystal Fish Bar when passing so stopped to get something to eat. Ordered 2 Cod & Chips, which was cooked to order. Food we got can only be described as the best fish and chips we have ever had, absolutely super. Brilliant service. Recommend to everyone.

Beautiful fresh fish and chips, all dish cooked to order. Large portions of chips and lovely crispy batter, cod was skinless which is even better. Friendly and polite staff, the fish bar is clean and tidy. I will definitely be returning, some of the best fish and chips the family has had.

I live locally and have tried a lot of others but this is the best, would not normally eat the batter as most is stodgy but this is light and very tasty. Great value for money. Highly recommend.

We ordered 2 large chips, 2 large Cod and 2 curry sauces, the food was cooked to absolute perfection and tasted great, having read previous reviews we asked for our chips to be cooked a little longer and well worth the 15 minutes wait....throughly recommend you visit this place, you won't be disappointed.

The freshly cooked fish & chips are the best that I've ever had. Well worth a go. The pies that they do are as good as what you can get at any good butchers. The smell of this place makes me feel hungry whenever I walk past when they are open.
