Lovely Sunday roast in a countryside pub. Very generous portions. All homemade (including the Yorkshire puddings). Possibly the best roast potatoes I’ve had at a pub. No joke. The desert was great too!

We went on a Sunday lunch time. We had a lovely honest roast. It was home cooked and very reasonable with a small and large size on offer. There was a choice of beef, pork or 1/2 chicken in the day we went. Dessert was lovely too, creme brulee perfect, apple and peach crumble was full if fruit and jelly and ice cream just as my husband had remembered it. If looking for a good priced honest Sunday roast where you are not rushed off as need your table definitely worth a visit.

Just stopped off on our way to Suffolk. Had a great pint and a delicious baguette here and it was faultless. Great service from our barmaid/waitress too. Would recommend and would go in again.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I was there for a drink and so i didn't have any food , so I can't review the food.

Table for 4 booked for 7pm. Arrived at 6.50pm. Only two starters ordered, which took over 40 minutes to arrive and the main courses were put in front of us just after 20 past 8. No apology, no explanation and no effort to compensate us for spoiling the end of what had been a lovely day.

Absolutely gorgeous family run pub. The atmosphere is great, with a pool table, affordable drinks and menu. All staff took the time to chat and get to know you a bit. The hot chocolate was delicious! We didn't eat there personally as we had already eaten but we had a couple rounds of drinks, which in my opinion was very reasonable!

Very good, no nonsense pub with very good no nonsense food. We popped in for a light lunch. One of us had a prawn cocktail, not some prissy thing in a glass but a proper job with crusty bread and a little mixed salad it was a good light bite. I had ham, egg and chips; the ham was excellent and the chips were brilliantly crispy together with 2 runny yoked eggs it was a good stop.

Large car park. Friendly welcome, busy for a Monday evening. Just popped in for a drink. One well kept real ale on. Clean toilets. Nice ambience, enjoyed my time there.

Booked table in advance for a Friday night meal with friends. Warm and friendly welcome. Good menu and specials board. Three plaice and chips and one sea bass . Food looked good and tasted nice too. Parking was well placed right outside. Would give 5* but eating area was very cold and time from order to serve was longer than expected. Total cost with drinks £80 which was reasonable.

I went to a party and used the pub for the first drink until the other bar opened, The people were very friendly loverly atmosphere

Lovely Sunday lunch here last Sunday with group of friends before Christmas. There is a full menu even on a Sunday but all 10 of us opted for the Sunday roast. There was a choice of three meats plus a nut roast option, also there was the choice of a small or large portion which is such a good idea for those people who cannot eat a large amount of food! Our reserved table was ready when we arrived and service was really quick to verify our orders. The food was really hot and a 'real home cooking' type of Sunday lunch, extremely tasty and plenty of it even for those of us who had opted for the smaller portion. A good dessert menu followed which we all indulged in! The atmosphere in the pub is so friendly, we had not been here before but staff and customers made us feel welcome, even during our noisy 'Secret Santa!' 😄 I would definitely return here, in fact we immediately rebooked for January!

It took ages to get here more than an hour there was only 3 of us there was mould and hair in my food it was disgusting there was also maggots in my drink i went out side and there was rats running round

We enjoyed an excellent meal here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The food was reasonably priced, too. The pub seems to be well used by locals, always a good sign. The pub is wheelchair accessible and dog friendly. There is carparking close by.

What a great pub. The landlord behind the bar was very friendly, making us feel welcome. The food was lovely. Very well cooked and obviously fresh. Vegetables were cooked to perfection. Thoroughly recommend a visit here.

On holiday we called in and went to a car meet, had a lovely jumbo hot dog from the BBQ. Nice place.

Great food with a Mediterranean accent and all freshly prepared. One of the few places outside Norwich where you can get a good meal after 8.30pm .

My sanity relies on the idea of escaping to The G&D and their holiday pods far too often. It is my favourite hideaway so please don't book too often because I will be returning on a regular basis

A beautiful authentic pub with a classic feel. A great range of beers, ales, and spirits. I had Cointreau for the first time, an amazing spirit well worth the money, and also a really nice coffee. 10/10 will definitely return again soon.

Lovely looking pub, friendly staff but very poor food waited aged and very over priced kids meals for the quality of food. A real shame.

Not bad. A good place to stop off for a quick pint. I remember it being packed most night so it's hard to feel good about it when there were only 4 of us there. Likely not their fault with the economy etc... But a few small tricks could work too bring in more customers.

Funeral tea, not very well staffed. Had to get tea and milk ourselves. Not many cups and saucers. Buffet food was good though.

I go here for Bingo on the last Monday evening of each month. It is very friendly and the staff are very welcoming. You get your Bingo book and a (non alcoholic) drink for just over £10 and 2 hours of good hearted fun and laughter with the added bonus that you might win too. Plenty of parking to the rear of the pub or opposite the pub. Some people ordered food to be brought to them whilst playing too. Looked and smelt lovely

lovely pub. we was on holiday so 4 off us just walked in and ordered meal each. chef on that night was brilliant. food lovely and hot no complaints at all. would go again.

I went in for dinner with a friend, We couldn't fault it. Lovely home cooked pub food, welcoming staff in a cosy atmosphere. I will definitely be back again to try their winter menu.

The food was nice but we waited over an hour.

Another great night out at the George and Dragon hosted by Hayley in the 'Splendid' garden area where the bar was fully stocked and flowing! Would reccomend this pub to all good punters to go and experience for themselves 👍

We've been here a couple of times. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food is lovely, huge compliments to the chef! We've had a big birthday celebration on the grounds and made use of the camping field and pods. All really lovely. Would highly recommend 👌

Cosy comfortable glamping close to the city but far enough away for county views and privacy. Pub with good quality, well cooked, reasonably priced food just across the field. I have a feeling I will return on a regular basis.

Great beer, nice staff as long as you don't get the kvnting older woman with an attitude who lies about the kitchen opening times. Situation as follows. We order food for 5.30 as the stated opening time, chef was late, ok that's fine, no food at 6.15 and had to cancel, blonde girl behind bar was apologetic and fine, older woman saod "huh, kitchen doesn't open until 6 anyway" well, no, you atate everywhere 5.30 and when i asked earlier i was told 5.30. A completely nice evening ruined by a miserable old bag with an attitude

Excellent food and service reasonable priced

We had a group of 22 walkers booked in for lunch. They couldn't have been more helpful, gave us the function room to ourselves, opened early before we set off, provided help yourself tea/coffee with honesty box. When we got back I got a pint of one of the 2 real ales on hand pump, it tasted like vinegar and was immediately replaced with the other ale and the barrel changed so we srill had a choice of 2. We were restricted to just roasts, which originally a few moaned about but the food was superb and all plates were clean when they went back. I'm not a great roast lover but it really was excellent quality food. The desserts weren't bad either! Highly recommended.

Highly recommend trying the 'Slayer Burger' - amazing home made burger with bacon, cheese and real onion rings. I'm super fussy about burgers, this was about the best I've ever had! Would have given 5 stars but our party of 6 waited about 40 minutes for food to arrive
