A great traditional pub. Open every day until late. Large car park. Two real ales on when I visited. Different areas of the pub have different vibes.

The pub doesn't serve food, just bar snacks.

Rushed to the Oak when I saw that the East coast Pizza van was there. Pizza combined with drinks makes for a fantastic experience.

Had my grandmother in laws wake at the Oak on 26th June and even though it was a sad day all of the staff and the food was exceptional. Everyone commented on how professional everything was. Thank you to Tracey and the staff.

It's okay. Have only been the once and can't comment on the food. Edited to add: I'm not being negative. I just wasn't impressed or unimpressed either way so feel quite indifferent.

Absolutely fantastic. Had the lamb shank. Working up here and visited with friends for food and drinks. Great pub and food was perfect. Only wish I was here on Saturday to try the curry. Staff and management couldn't do enough for us .will be back for more..

Every time I have eaten here I have loved the specials board. Really friendly and speedy service, always a good selection of beer too. Great dessert menu as well as! Tasty food- I usually go for their curries.

Brilliant place. Great service, lovely waitress serving us. Visited on the venue's curry themed night. The food was incredible. Ticks all the boxes for a great pub and great restaurant. Will be a returning for sure.

Good place to have a good catch up with a friend. They used to do nuts and raisins etc behind the bar as a small snack but I think they got rid of them which was a Shame. I've not tried the food yet but am planning on it soon.

What a great pub, great food, great selection of drinks and always such a great welcome, such a homely pub and have always felt very welcome by both the staff and fellow customers, your never a stranger here.

Popped in this evening. I'm not from the area and was trying to find somewhere to eat and to log on to my laptop. The landlady was AMAZING. Pointed me in the direction of the wifi codes and a comfy seat immediately. Ordered food, the landlord was over with the cutlery and condiments in seconds. Food was gorgeous! Not only was it very tasty, but also steaming hot and a very very reasonable amount! (And when I exclaimed how large the meal was as it was set down in front of me, the landlord kindly told me anything I didn't eat he would happily wrap Up for me!) Very good food. Very comfortable. Very welcoming. Highly recommended by me, and next time I'm in the area I will definitely pop back!

Great pub. We go here every week after badminton . Lovely staff, food and atmosphere.

Great food, freshly prepared and served at pace to suit you, nice and relaxed. The staff are wonderful and friendly, and we couldn't have found or asked for better. The bill at the end of the meal was a pleasant surprise as well, no problems recommending it.

Football was run through a laptop, so very poor quality unfortunately. Was reprimanded for eating chips from the chippy next door, something which was previously acceptable.

We recently held our son's christening party at The Royal Oak. The staff couldn't have been more hospitable or bend over backwards enough to help. They erected a marquee in their lovely beer garden and put on an incredible afternoon tea which all our guests commented on. Our 25 guests ranged from babies up to the elderly, but they catered for all, providing comfortable armchairs and a baby booster chair. The pub was welcoming, food top notch, garden and bar had a good atmosphere, there was plenty of parking and most of all the staff were so kind and thoughtful thank you Nick, Delia, Aaron and team for making our special day so stress free and happy.

Some of the most attentive and loveliest staff you’ll ever meet. The food here is nice too.

A decent village pub with real ales including several guest ales. Delia and Nick really welcome you and have recently expanded their food menu. No gimmicks just a proper village pub.

Not as we had hoped the food, we thought was “bought in” and not cooked on site, disappointing.

Nice Sunday lunch. Visited on off chance that we could be fitted in. We felt a bit rushed as we were told it would become very busy. Which it didn't really.

Just been for a roast and wasn't expecting anything that great as hadn't read any reviews. Pleasantly surprised! The best roast iv had in a while and the best gravy ever.. the only way it could have been better is the addition of cauliflower cheese! Thanku very much, will definitely be back again soon

Good mains, desserts a bit pretentious

An excellent meal. Very impressed with how efficiently they dealt with a dairy allergy. Adapted the meal ingredients. Even had a dairy free desert. Excellent service. We shall be back soon. ☺️

Was slightly underwhelmed on first walking in based on the reviews I had read however, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and brilliant value for money. Way better than your average pub food but not pretentious or trying to capture the high end gastro market. Car park is next to chip shop, not obvious if you are driving down the hill with pub on your right. Although clearly signed if driving up the hill. Good selection of real ales.

I can't actually tell you how much I loved this place! The drinks were super nice, food really tasty, all perfectly presented. The extra mile they went to make me and my family feel welcome was well beyond any other customer service I've had! The owner is so attentive and great with my 3 year old son. I'm definitely going to be a regular here, so lovely! The decor and outside area is also super cute! Definitely recommend. 11/10!

Came here with my partner and parents as we have moved a 2 minute walk around the corner. The lady, who im assuming was the owner, was absolutely lovely and kept coming to chat and make sure we were okay. Food was beaut and so was the atmosphere! Already planning my next trip with a friend who's moving round the corner also. Thank you for being so welcoming!

Good food friendly staff and a nice place to go for a drink

Came here today with my father and his two sisters for a family get together. I have been to this pub several times and have enjoyed the experience. Today was no exception, first class beer, and wonderful food. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal and said how good it was. The landlady was very friendly and extremely helpful in sorting out everyone's order. I am only sorry that I do not live a little nearer, as I would certainly be using this excellent establishment much more often, a real delight. Thank you.

I have been using this pub at least 3 times a week, more when the wife's away for a number of years. Excellent choice of ales, very friendly service and clientele. Food is very good and great value for money. The Landlady would make a perfect artist's model anyday.
