Friendly staff and great value food: their £10 fish, chips and mushy peas is great value.
And they're really grateful if you can pay in cash.. no problem!
Great service and food will definitely return you can sit outside and take in the view the dishes are mostly fish but there are other meals for the non fish eaters
Always good food, great options too, some of the less common items like BBQ chicken are delicious. Homemade coleslaw is a treat as well. All the staples are exactly how you'd want them, always hot, always well cooked.
Staff really make the place standout though, always friendly, you never have to wait more than 5 seconds to be served, the guys are friendly and welcoming, always accurate with how long the meal will take to cook which is helpful too. We've tried many fish and chip shops around Southend and this one is clear by a country mile!
Fish was freshly cooked but that was the only nice thing about our takeaway. It’s the second visit to the shop and it was the same as last time.
I won’t be going back, chips brown and stock together and pie had been nuked to a point that it could have been anything.
Young lady serving was pleasant and efficient but standard of the Chips was shocking.

Just left from a night’s stay - room was lovely - clean and decorated beautifully- the young man who showed us to the room explained everything to us about coming back late and breakfast and he carried my bags! Lovely welcome - really friendly staff. Breakfast looked amazing - love the decor of the pub and the abundance of plants. Wonderful pub - so pleased we got to stay there.
Have just got home after having a roast dinner at Ruby's, I had heard good reviews about their roasts, it was amazing, best roast potatoes ever. Absolutely delicious all of it!!
The food is divine. Really tasty and high quality but also extremely well presented with lots of attention to detail. The service was efficient and very friendly and the restaurant had a cosy vibe. A high end restaurant without the pretension!

I had the sausage and fennel rigatoni, this was a fantastic plate of food, simple yet tasty. I could taste every ingredient on the plate. The rigatoni was firm which is way I like it.
I paired this with a glass of Vinho Verde. This was very nice and worked well with the creamy pasta.
The service was friendly and attentive and the food was out very quickly. One of the outside tables is a bit wonky and needs fixing, however my table was fine.
They don't take bookings here, I dined alone so wasn't an issue for me, but may be an issue for larger groups or those planning a special occasion.
The pricing was very reasonable at £21 in total for a good plate of pasta and a glass of wine. Would recommend and would visit again.
The price is moderate, the taste is great, and the noodles are delicious. Although it was crowded, the service was attentive. There’s just a little bit of meat!
We had lunch last Sunday and the service, quantity of food and quality of food was exceptional. The waitresses are lovely and the manager Jimmy more than accommodating.
