Wonderful rustic hotel in the heart of Woodbridge

I had an absolutely excellent dinner and breakfast at the Bull. I couldn't praise the cooking enough. Beer was good too, and the room comfortable . Would definaty stay again if I was in the area.

Fabulous location in the small Suffolk town of Woodbridge. Staff were attentive, but not overly, great breakfast and evening meal, with a focus on local produce.

Rooms were lovely! Staff nice enough but the chef at breakfast so so rude! Swearing when asked for something to be gluten free… she may not of meant for us to hear but we did! Shame as hotel lovely, sad for a member of its team to let it down….

This is a great way to do Woodbridge. Conveniently located and very cozy. The owner made every effort to welcome us and even accommodated our last minute breakfast plan change when our bus came early.

A great selection of beers and wines. Staff are happy and attentive. Real ales have a loyalty card. I haven't stayed there, but I am sure it's very good judging by the meals I have had enjoyed there.

We had a lunchtime meal here, there was 9 of us including 2 children. The meals came at irregular intervals, and unfortunately the children's meals came last. The food was of good quality. Service was less than adequate.

Always a special place for drinks and food. During the recent warm weather it has been a fight for tables outside on Market Hill. Lovely watching the sunsets. A good selection of real ales (6) and bar snacks. Sunday roasts a must!

Very pleasant one night stay at the Bull. Olde world, but really clean and comfortable, second floor room. Tricky stairs but only to be expected in a building of this age. We had a really enjoyable, tasty evening meal, loved the desserts. Breakfast one tiny niggle. The belly pork on the full English menu, offered instead of the usual bacon, was just awful, pretty much uncooked fat. Otherwise AOK. I'd advise parking at the theatre car park as it's only a short walk, cheaper than parking in the hotel car park and it gives you time in the morning to explore Woodbridge. No hesitation in recommending well worth the cost.

Our 2nd stay here once 2 years ago and now a 2 night stay. The room had been modernised with a new wet room, lovely room and a great view of market Hill. Breakfast excellent choice, perfectly cooked. We booked a table for the evening meal. Oh my goodness it was outstanding. Steak that melted in your mouth, starters and desert lovely. Staff are really friendly here. One of the busier pubs on our stay so we used it more than intended as we wanted to walk round woodbridge into other bars. Atmosphere in the bull was really good. Location is very good. A perfect stay for us and we will stay again.

Loved our stay and meal here in this grand old historic pub. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and furnished with a modern bathroom. Our dinner was also a treat and served by attentive, friendly staff. Make sure you find the rare 17th-century graffiti in the bar area. ❤️ Thank you!

The room was fantastic, very big and well appointed with a lovely view of the historic town centre and Shire Hall. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious with top quality, locally sourced ingredients cooked to perfection. It's the ideal location for exploring Woodbridge. We will definitely be going back.

Had a very nice dinner in the dining room. The starter of smoked mackerel with pickled mussels and cucumber was an explosion of flavour. Our mains of seabream and lamb were fabulous. But the side of allotment vegetables was simply amazing... Just perfectly cooked and ultra fresh vegetables.

Atmospheric Inn right in the middle of Woodbridge. Very nice indeed.

Only 2 day visit, limited menus different to examples on website, otherwise good.Limited parking.

I have moved to Woodbridge fairly recently and since then, the Bull has become one of my go to places. Their terrace is arguably the best spot to sit and enjoy a drink in all of Woodbridge. It catches the last rays of sun in the evening, and it is nice to see people, dogs (and cars) come and go. The service is generally good and so is the food that is served. In addition to a good selection of beers, they serve an excellent sauvignon blanc from New Zealand. Recommended!

Fleeting visit, but will come back axk

Huge thanks to Sophie who looked after me so attentively when I visited the hotel with an injury. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable -- a star employee!

Dropped in for lunch. Had been hoping for Welsh Rarebit (as per website), but menu had changed! We got over our disappointment and were charmed by the lovely staff - the salad lunches were beautifully prepared and the accompanying fries were fresh and delicious. The vibe is cheerful and the location is central and convenient in this picturesque market town.

Another extremely enjoyable stay at our favourite hotel in Woodbridge. The newly refurbished room was an absolute delight - the wet room shower was stunning. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating especially Maddie at breakfast😄. We have been coming here since lockdown and have seen the improvements that the owners have invested in. We can't wait to visit again in November.

We were recommended to go here by the landlord of the Angel. I am glad we went, the choice of ales was excellent, the food was great, and it was really relaxing. Would recommend.

Freehouse in Suffolk is not the norm. Set in the heart of Woodbridge this a fine Old English pub. Worth the trot out of the high street.

Popped in for a drink and sat outside. Nice!!

We went there for an evening meal, having not tried the Bull before. Dining room was lovely and well spaced seating. The service throughout the evening was very good. I ordered the Sutton Hoo roasted chicken breast, which was served with potato anna, orange glazed carrots and the most fantastic jus. My husband ordered the burger, which was a huge 8oz burger with brisket, cheese, onions, and other trimmings. This came served with amazing fries, really crispy and delightful. For dessert we had dark chocolate and almond torte with liqueur coffee sauce and praline ice-cream, this was very rich and delicious. The prices were very reasonable and the quality exceptional. Highly recommend.

Attended a Menta network session at this venue, it's really lovely. Google maps got very confused about its location but that's not the owner's fault, do be aware you may be misled, it's at the bottom of the triangle not the top. Provided food was good, as was the filter coffee and the networking was excellent.

Just one word covers every area for my review....Outstanding. Service, Quality, Food, Rooms and Environment. Well done to everyone here for making this the best place to dine or stay at in Woodbridge.
