I've visited this restaurant a few times in the past but unfortunately have stopped since one of our party got food poisoning - we suspect from the oysters - after eating here. We e-mailed the restaurant about this incident as a precaution but received no reply or acknowledgment. A shame since the food and ambience has otherwise been pleasant.

Ordered online, didn't quite get what I ordered. Got a lamb madras instead of chicken. Still very nice and can't fault the quality of the food from Ruby's.
always enjoyed the food here over the years not sure what has happened 2nd time been awful, spring rolls greasy batter not cooked, chicken balls full of grease, prawns the same, this was once the best chineses in Diss
Brought mum here for a 90th birthday lunch as she adores seafood. Fabulous place, a warm friendly welcome, the most delicious seafood, wonderful friendly service, beautiful sea view. We sat at wooden benches in the gazebo and despite being December we were toasty warm under the heaters. Thank you for making mums birthday really memorable, we loved our lunch with you. Highly recommended!
Another fantastic meal at The Creek.
Excellent service and superb food.
Desserts to die for and gorgeous local G&T.
Caroline and her team are so welcoming.
As always, our trip to The Secret Garden was a delight.
A warm welcome, friendly and professional service. A relaxed ambience and, of course, delicious food, accompanied by a lovely wine.
The Secret Garden’s secret lies in the reliability and consistency of its delivery of a high quality all-round experience.
What a delicious, delightful way to spend over two hours on a Friday afternoon. Thankyou.
First time I’ve visited and very impressed. Great atmosphere and made to feel very welcome. Service was shockingly excellent which seems to be rare these days anywhere. Food tasted amazing. I don’t live local but will make a point of returning.
Well, shouldn't of waited 4 years since we moved to Sea Palling to visit this excellent Inn.
Greeted on arrival very friendly staff and excellent food ( might want to let it cool down abit!, except if your having a salad😊).
Definitely a score of 10/10.
We will be back soon
Family Birthday. Sunday lunch booked online 2pm and confirmed immediately by email. Friendly welcome, was early so got drinks at the bar. Was told table ready.
Taken to table, menus given to all.
Came back for the orders, 4 roast lunches and 1 fish n chips!
Probably about 30 min till food which was fine, asked if we wanted any more drinks in the meantime.
Food came out ( 3 pork, lovely crackling!) 1 lamb ( so tender!) with veg separate and extra gravy
Absolutely amazing food/ quality, crispy roast pots too!!!
All plates empty!
Some of us had desserts
All lovely
Highly recommended experience
And very reasonable prices
Thank you, will be back
One of the best Chinese meals I’ve had in years. We had the traditional set menu - excellent, it was a balance of individual dishes, beautifully prepared and presented. The battered fish was amazing , first time I tried lotus root - will have that again. Make sure you are hungry when you get there. I wish I had taken some photos!! The staff were gracious and attentive. There were only six customers on a Saturday evening, so yes was a bit quiet but the venue is quirky with some interesting musical instruments on show and other Chinese items for sale at the bottom of the restaurant.
We visit this pub at least once a fortnight, sometimes more often and we just think it's a great place to spend time. Food is generally very good, but we especially rave about the Sunday Lunch to our friends. Roast beef is of excellent quality and portion size is also good. Vegetables are very fresh and plentiful, carrots are amazing to such an extent even my daughter loves them. Yorkies yummy.
Jake, his fellow managers, and the rest of the team, are enthusiastic, friendly and run a great operation. We were concerned that the standards may slip when it was recently taken over by a small brewery. Pleased they seem to understand you don't fix what is working well. Overall not much changed, although we have fed back that the wine choice does seem to have been changed and not for the better. As ever however when we fed this back, it was taken on board and it was acknowledged they would look at this. Keep an eye out in the summer, they hold good outside dining/music events.
Seen a couple of comments about cost. To be quite honest if price is ones priority, I would suggest there are plenty of other pubs where cheapness is possibly more of a focus that may be more suitable . Personally I like the option of paying a little more for good quality and The George offers this. Maulden with the White Hart also, has two great pubs which offers great choice. Thankyou!
Another fantastic lunch - the dishes are very authentic, freshly made and tasty
We are always served promptly and find the staff helpful in deciding the options to choose
We will Definitely will be back
Great welcome, plenty of well cooked food and fantastic value. We were in a large group and the fryers managed to serve us all at once and it was cooked to perfection. There was plenty to eat and drink and service was spot on. We will be back.
