Pontlands Park in Chelmsford

We had a very lovely afternoon tea, all gluten free, with excellent service. All set in a very idyllic location.

Absolutely loved my stay here. Can not praise the staff enough,nothing is ever to much trouble,every member of staff was polite,very kind and extremely well mannered. The hotel itself is beautiful,cleaned to a very high standard and just so welcoming. Our room was amazing with everything we needed,plenty of lightning,warm and again very clean. The bathroom was a bonus with a large bath and independent shower cube,water was lovely and warm too. The restaurant is lovely as well. Can actually stay all day because there is food served right up till 10pm I think,so if you want a relaxing day from shopping in Chelmsford or London this place is ideal. They serve afternoon tea as well. Over all a very relaxing 4 days. Will definitely be back

Spa facilities are great. Staff are really friendly and accommodating

We used to be regulars at this hotel enjoying facilities including spa. So much is good about it, nice staff etc, but we don’t go anymore since this: we booked dinner at the restaurant then decided to stay at the spa and have a meal there instead. Management then charged us a hefty sum for not turning up at the restaurant, even though we had a meal in another part of the complex. Unexpected aggressive move on what was supposed to be a relaxing trip, not cool. Left a nasty feeling, particularly as we were there quite a bit. Plenty of other hotels!

hello all , just got home from an evening function xmas dinner with our triumph car club inc a stay one nite a must , as you can see excellent food was super mixed crowed music bar in lovely old building and have never visited before but will be happy too tell everybody about it ,the food was scrumptious fillet steak to die for staff brill and bed super ,i have lived in this area for 60 years but never been their before but cant wait to go again , we did not use facilities but two pools in /out with cover (in use this morning) ! main building 1897 which i love anyway so do it now before you book one of those boring places regards thanks again pontlands see you soon we hope regards rob welch

Really super hotel, fabulous staff too, would highly recommend 👌

Came for Sunday lunch and booked online the day before. We all had a roast and it was reasonably priced. Beef was cooked perfectly, pork was tender and juicy. The crackling was a particular highlight! Roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft inside, wonderful arrange of vegetables. My only small comment would be the red cabbage was a bit too sweet, otherwise perfect! Service from the team was top notch. All had done with a smile. Would definitely come back again!

Wedding reception done really well

The staff were absolutely brilliant. They couldn't do enough for you. They were all happy and smart. Wonderful building and having the spa attached was great.

Lovely old building. Wonderful service and friendly staff. Large room and bed. Evening meal superb if a little bit expensive. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel is fantastic! Friendly, welcoming staff very satisfied with everything and the use of reflections was icing on the cake! Highly recommended and can not wait to return!

WOW absolutely incredible , me and my partner booked super last minute and we are extremely impressed, the most luxurious hotel the food was perfect beautiful rooms & surroundings . The leisure area was out of this world we was lucky with the weather and sat outside in the garden all day sunbathing with lots of choice of indoor outdoor pool & jacuzzis with sauna and steam also super modern experience . Thankyou so much will recommend to everyone and can not wait to book again !

Absolutely fabulous hotel, amazing staff especially Lily and Vicky on reception, they made us feel like part of the family on arrival and throughout our stay. Hotel is spotlessly clean, staff are so friendly and welcoming, food is spectacular! Cant wait to go back in September for the Murder Mystery night. Thankyou to everyone for a wonderful weekend

Attended a "Wake". Passable nibbles, sandwiches, cake, tea & coffee. £9.25 for medium sized Pinot Grigio, given a bottle is a fiver, seemed a tad steep. Staff good re Wheelchair access ramp.

Helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms, the restaurant serves really delicious food with a good range of dishes.

I recently booked here for afternoon tea for a colleague to celebrate her getting married soon. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and let me come in to decorate prior to guests arriving. Staff took dietary requirements seriously and bent over backwards to make sure we had what we needed. Beautiful location, really friendly staff and lovely afternoon. Thank you.

Lovely wedding venue with a huge impressive marquee room and dance floor area. Suitable for medium to large weddings. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is very nice. Lovely grounds and lots of places to take photos. I often DJ at Pontlands and take photos, be glad to hear if I can help.
