Me and my wife had lunch, very nice and good value, being pensioners we look forward to eating out once or twice a week.now the government have stopped our heating allowance,we have to look after the money, the Ales were good and thumbs up to the cellar mam 👍.

We went for lunch at this lovely quaint pub in Benfleet we were served by a lovely young lady named Kirsty who was very helpful, we sat at the bar and after a couple of hours moved to a table to eat, the budget was on and it was rather loud so we decided to move tables, Kirsty noticed this and immediately told us she could turn the tv down as they were all individually controlled so it wouldn’t affect anyone else so we remained where we were, on ordering food she explained we could have a deal with drinks included which was amazing two meals and 2 alcoholic drinks for £15 . The food was beautiful and hot well presented by Charlotte in the kitchen and Kirsty bought it to the table then also bought over our drinks still smiling and chatty. All in all a wonderful experience and a breath of fresh air visiting a Pub where the staff are professional, happy and accommodating not a mobile phone in sight and yes I will be returning

A decent enough boozer with a local crowd which is handy for Benfleet Station, I had to ask for the rest of my Guinness after a while as it was forgotten about, but no big deal. I would happily go there again for a few pints.

Great atmosphere on Saturday night with a brilliant live singer, food was good, service was good. Dave and Tess are wonderful welcoming hosts, our favourite pub in the area by far.

Absolutely wonderful local pub. Lovely welcoming atmosphere, managers are so friendly and polite. We ordered the mixed grill - OMG! The food was absolutely divine, the steak was cooked to perfection- compliments to the chef, as not many get the steak the right side of medium. You cannot fault thus place always so welcoming. With 2 for 1 on the cocktails & shots for £2.50, we're leaving with full bellies, satisfied and happy.

Took my wife and young children for some dinner, service was outstanding, food was incredible and really reasonable prices! Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!! Thanks so much

I called in to The Half Crown after walking over 4 miles along the coastal path with my little dog. Although I've driven past this pub loads of times, I've never been in it. From the moment I stepped through the door I felt very welcome. As a person on my own, one of the staff kindly offered to look after my dog whilst I nipped to the loo and when I came back, she very kindly got him his own bowl of water. I ordered sausage and mash from the menu (which was delicious) and a cider. The food came quickly and the barman very kindly got the dog his own little bowl of doggy treats, which I thought was very kind and considerate. It was such a lovely pub and I felt so relaxed that I stayed for another cider! My only regret is that I didn't realise there was a band on later on...if I'd have known that, I probably would've been there all night!

I attended today for the first time with my family of 5 and dog. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere friendly locals. Very welcoming and kind especially to our dog. We came in soaking wet and they gave us a towel to dry our dog and a blankets, treats and toys.! How lovely to receive such a lovely welcome and the service was excellent we all ate 2 courses every meal was delicious and great portion sizes. Wish I lived closer I would be a regular no doubt. 100% will be back again. Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon

Very nicely run pub, with a good atmosphere. Many TV’s in the building at every angle, excellent for sporting events. Excellent, hot & fresh pub food. Must try…! Tables are cleaned and not sticky like some places. Staff are excellent all with a smile, they look after you well. A few parking spaces available, could get full at times.

We love this place, Dave and tess who run the pub do a very good job, at different times of the day and week this pub is truly all things to all people, I’ve been using this pub since the seventies and truly ,.. it’s never been better than it is now . Great food good prices and manages to be a proper community pub as well as serve food, so if you just want a drink you don’t feel you’re in a restaurant which is a good trick not many pubs manage to pull off. Love it.

Been to the Half Crown a few times since Christmas and really like it as it has a nice atmosphere. The food is very nice and the staff make you feel welcome and are friendly and helpful. Have taken our dog in there a couple of times and they bring him a bowl of biscuits and water which he loves. Look forward to visiting again soon.

We have children so getting out for dinner and couple of drinks is difficult without children we have 3 local pubs all opposite eachother. We called half crown one evening asking if we could attend with children as two others stated no children even when all eating a meal. When we arrived on a Saturday evening our table was reserved for us staff greeted us and was welcoming. We ate had a few drinks ended up staying later than we thought as was made to feel welcome my children was made to feel important. Since then we have been a couple of times our children are 5 and 9 we ate lovely food chatted with staff and regulars danced felt very comfortable. No other pub allows or welcomes children and dogs very family friendly

Having recently moved into the area, I explored the triangle of pubs around Benfleet station and the half crown was the best of the 3!! The staff have been amazing on every visit since - special call out to the two boys behind the bar Charlie and Mikey. The place has a very cosy feel, super welcoming and great food

Food was really good for the price, typical pub grub but really good. The atmosphere was amazing all of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Our food came out in a good time of 5-10 mins after ordering. Definitely would recommend to anyone. And it's dog friendly which is a bonus.

We have made this our local very quickly out all pubs in Benfleet no contest. Warm cosy inviting good value for money (£1.85 a drink on Monday and Tuesday and the steak baguettes amazing) management and bar staff all fantastic. It’s suitable for old and young and has a great atmosphere and they very much welcome the doggies!!!

A nice pub here, very friendly service and decent food, well priced as well and apparently they do cheaper drinks at the beginning of the week! I may upgrade the atmosphere rating in the summer but as I haven't been here in the summer yet, I cannot judge. Would recommend!

My son is leaving for Australia. We approached the Half Crown to see if we could host his leaving do. They were extremely accommodating, kids & dogs were allowed. Lovely warm and clean place, feels very festive thanks to all Christmas decorations. Food was served hot and great value for money . We tried hot mulled wine and it was lovely . Family and dog friendly pub which is always a plus especially in this cold weather. All in all great gem definitely worth a visit .

Popped into the Half Crown early afternoon yesterday on the spur of the moment and so glad we did, what a fantastic, cosy pub. Have lived in Benfleet for many years and have often walked past. The staff were so friendly, the Christmas decorations looked great and we had a lovely table by the window. We didn't stay for food but the menus looked good and people on the table next to us seemed pleased with their food. We will definitely be going back for food & drinks.

The staff are amazing, I left my wallet on the chair and it was returned to me intact . So very grateful.

We just dropped in prior to eating at the benfleet tandoori for a couple of drinks.The barman was a youngster and wasn't with it,However I know the landlord keeps a tighter ship and normally the service is better

I was only in for a short time ,but seeded very welcoming, clean, and a great pint of Guinness.

Had lunch here with friends and was not disappointed. Friendly staff and nice food, which was excellent value for money. On the day we visited, it was very quiet (Tuesday), hence 3* for 'Atmosphere' but we will definitely be returning.

There are 3 pubs in the area and this one is my favourite so far. I did visit few times and every time the service is very professional and quick. On few occasions we came with family for lunch or dinner and the food was always cooked perfectly. Enjoyed the Halloween and Christmas special quiz run by Sam - it definitely was fun for everyone. Half Crown is now our local pub for any occasions even if its just a quick drink after walk with our dog 🐕. Thank you and I will definitely see you soon.

Just had the best steak cooked for me here today, top notch cookery from their kitchen compliments to Jordan the chef! Also had a great beer and have a great variety of spirits to choose from especially cazcabel coffee tequila! One of my faves!

Lovely friendly pub with very tasty food especially full English breakfast. Kids and dog friendly too which is a bonus. Great place to pop in have a pint and chat with regulars. Definitely worth a visit. The manager ain’t bad either

Staff were very friendly, with good service. I find pubs very noisy. Probably due to the music cranked up, so everyone has to talk/shout louder. Unfortunately the outside seating closes at 9pm.
