My Place Cafe in Castle Point

The original owner called this place "The Blinking Owl" after his wife developed a nervous twitch whilst doing the washing-up. Just waiting to see if the new staff develop similar symptoms. 🤔

Fantastic Cafe, food is excellent and plenty of choice, staff are always friendly. Lots of parking but a little tricky getting out as the A127 is a fast road.

Large cafe with friendly staff. Reasonably priced and good amount of food which was well cooked. Cannot fault anything and would definitely recommend. Tea and coffee made just how we liked it. A*

Always consistent good quality. I usually have a full English but opted for the eggs royale and have to say it is one of the best eggs royale I have had in Essex!

My second review for this place. Just came in for lunch and had cheese omelette for me and liver and bacon for my hubby. He said it was bloody lovely and was stuffed after eating this. So nice here, always friendly and ready to help. Thank you (and was more filling, better for us and cost less than the KFC we had a few nights ago!!!) One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long while! Food was served quickly, piping hot, egg done perfectly, nice, thick cut bread and everything really well cooked, plus they listened when I said just a splash of milk in my tea, so it was really nice. I don’t usually do reviews but this definitely deserved one.

This place is amazing!! Always tasty food and generous portions. My favourite is grilled chicken salad. Kids love those pancakes, as they are super tasty like no other place I've tried. Highly recommend 👌

Was just passing with a hungry belly. Lovely friendly Turkish staff, I had a simple baguette with turkish sausage which hallumi and tomato, dash of pepper. Was really delicious . Thankyou

Another trip up the A127 to Rayleigh smashing roast beef lunch, been there several times now and will certainly be going back. 👍

We now always come here as a family. It's the one place our daughter asks to go when we fancy breakfast out. Everyone is so welcoming and they make it feel like home. My place certainly live up to its name because you always want to go back and it's now 'our place' to be. The food is home cooked and not processed like you get at some cafes. We just 😍 love it there and so glad we found it 😀

Stopped by chance, and definitely the best decision of the day so far. Friendly engaging staff. As for the food….?? Once you’ve worked out what you want from the many options it’s cooked fresh and perfectly.. Whilst they will accept card payments they do prefer cash if possible.

Started going here about a week ago as our regular cafe had changed decor so could no longer go due to this and we have been back every day since. Food is amazing especially the cottage pie and you certainly get value for money with the set breakfast 😋 service here is also very welcoming we will certainly now use this as our regular food place to be 😄😃😀

Decent cafe with good parking right on the duel carriageway. Unfortunately they only accept cash. I saw people walk in and back out again when they realised they couldn’t pay by card..

Hi I use this place a fair bit . Today not so good . I asked for 1x egg bacon sandwich and 1x sausage egg sandwich and can Fanta … £12.50 !!! ?? Also sausages very cheap . Please spend a bit more money on quality ….. it really makes all the difference . But can’t fault anything else

Ordered spaghetti bolognese and they served a child size portion that had a very bland taste. Well overpriced.

Good, traditional road side cafe. Food freshly cooked, staff friendly and helpful. Everywhere spotlessly clean.

I go here regularly with a friend for breakfast (The B2 Breakfast mostly). Always friendly, clean and reasonably priced. I can get busy at times and parking is not always easy. Located at the top of a slipway off the A127 it can be stressful trying to get back out into mainstream traffic at busy times and requires some patience waiting for a gap. One of the best Cafe's in the Rayleigh area.

I forgot my wallet at home, but they trusted me, and my food was waiting for me on my return. Much appreciated and keep up the great work 👏👏👏👌👍

As far as cafes go the food was good and would decently come back. Plenty of parking for vans and campers as well. I often judge a good place on the clearness of a toilet, If the toilet is clean then they are more likely to keep the kitchen clean. The toilet was spotless and the kitchen is clean aswell as you can see it all from the main dining area. Just can't see the lreproom at the back but feel confident it's clean.

Had a lovely roast lamb dinner, very tasty and hot. Clean and ataff friendly.

A traditional "greasy spoon" cafe! Any combination & size of fried breakfast that you can think of, including vegetarian options. It gets really busy which is always a good sign. Great that places like this still exist! Will definitely be visiting again

Having been coming here on and off for thirty years. Under new management, good food, friendly service and value for money. I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to others.

The staff are really lovely and always say hello with a smile even if they're passing your table. The food is really good fry up food, never greasy and always served quickly and hot They have a good selection of different breakfasts and also a good lunch menu.

Was visiting today 8/11/22 so decided to pop back into myplace cafe and let me tell you big breakfast no ash browns 2 sausages 2 eggs beans tomatoes2 bacon 2 unsliced toast and a coffee & trust me you can't fault the breakfast cooked fresh so all nice and hot these guys are brilliant and lots of working trade pass so don't be shy pop on by and give the lovely waitresses a tip there serves is outstanding thanks guys another brilliant food service thanks 13/6/22 Popped in after visiting friends Friday 13th May had a B5 breakfast believe me it was a breakfast that takes some beating pure lean bacon .sausages , potatoe scone, mushrooms, tomatoes, egg, 2 toast and mug of coffee best £8 spent and service was happy chirpy staff Turkish and all wish you good morning and safe journeys... well recommend and food faultless so give these guys a go when passing... I was passing this cafe on a journey from the midlands to south end , I had a full english breakfast all items was piping hot the food was very good quality and well priced . Will definitely return when I'm passing next .

Wow £8.60 for 2 bacon rolls I work in the West end £4 can't understand how they can charge so much wsnt even a good roll

My Place Cafe is without a doubt the best cafe in Essex, easily the best I’ve been to. No establishment has ever come close to food quality, service and value for money. I’ve been coming to my place for quite a few years now and it has been absolutely spot on every single time. I couldn’t recommend them enough, they have taken great care of myself and my partner every time we go, which is usually every weekend. Great atmosphere, very well priced, amazing service and the best food around.

Excellent service, very clean and the food is always cooked to perfection. My self and co workers choose to eat our breakfast or lunch here every day, would highly reccomend.

Fast service I give it that. but everything really greasy. deep fried mushrooms deep fried sausage. deep fried tomato slices. deep fried hash browns. the bacon was defo precooked and rewarmed as was like leather. however the bubble was really nice. I know most breakfast is fried but come on I have worked in catering and sausages are well known for being cooked on a grill where the fat expels and taste nicer. and drain the fat from the mushrooms. for 7 quid it was a plate of grease. I would have rather waited 15 minutes and had fresh grilled breakfast. not just slapped in a deep frier and slapped on a plate. but 100% got the bubble right.
