We had the best Sunday roast we've ever had whilst eating out. The portions were huge, meat was cooked beautifully, the vegetables were plentiful with lots of lovely gravy. We had the sticky toffee pudding and lemon sponge for desert, both were delicious. Staff are very friendly and attentive, booking is advised as it was very busy.....and no wonder, Thank you.

We called in for an evening drink and meal recently. Unfortunately we hadn't booked a table and were just too late for food. The place had a lovely atmosphere and the food coming out looked delicious. The staff serving us were so polite and helpful. The young man, sorry I didn't catch his name even wrote out a list of nearby places to try for food which was really appreciated as we didn't know the area. We shall definitely be back, loved the place, beautiful greenery growing indoors and lots of quirky bits and pieces which i loved. A really friendly place providing a first rate service. Thankyou, see you again soon.

A local pub for local people. A bit short staffed when we visited, but that's not a problem if you're local as they'll serve you before any damned tourists who might have booked. Half the serving staff of two were rude and surly. The food was pretty standard pub grub. Nothing too clever but OK. Atmosphere was prickly because I dared to point out they were serving people who had just arrived before us, who had waited half an hour. There are nicer pubs around this area.

Been having Sunday lunch here for quite a while. Never had any complaints before. Food always excellent, selection of real ales varies. Unfortunately this Sunday, 11th August, my friend asked for a pint of Ghost ship, and a bottle of Ghost Ship low alcohol to go with it, which was served in another pint glass. He wanted it left in the bottle. On mentioning this to the young man who served us, he came out with an expletive. The glass was taken away and replaced with a bottle. This is totally unacceptable, and I trust will not happen again.

Absolutely amazing! We stopped off for Sunday dinner (booked the day before). Staff were really welcoming and couldn't do enough for us (including the dog). Recommend in our welcome pack for our holiday home. Didn't realise booking was vital. Dog friendly but when booking inform them you have a dog as you can't sit in the restaurant section with a pooch. A seat in the bar area, not massively different from the restaurant anyway.. Seemed like mainly locals. Lots of dogs in our bit so when one started another one kicked off. Not a slight on the establishment but on patrons - some should learn that just because their dog is friendly doesn't mean mine is so keep yours away! Boundaries. Recommend food. A great choice. Staff very friendly. When one of our party only wanted a small portion the person taking the order went through all options to work the best out for them. A lovely view and well appointed garden but a few too many flies about.

We stayed about a mile away from the Greyhound and it was our “local” we eat there twice. Once in the dining room without the dog and once in the lounge with the dog. Both times excellent, excellent food, excellent staff and excellent atmosphere. If your local and want a guaranteed good meal then this is your place.

After looking at the menu on the website, decided to go here. Wish we wouldnt have bothered! When we got there it was a different menu, asked about the one on the website, was told it was a 'sample' one!!! I had mushrooms for starters, which were lukewarm. The mains came, onion bharjs missing... were told they didnt have any. The bill of £150 arrived, which was wrong, charged for too many drinks! The staff didnt seem to know what they were doing! To say we spent a lot of money, it was not an enjoyable experience. Wont be returning!

Our second visit to The Greyhound. We turned up for an early Sunday lunch, without a reservation, despite being short-staffed, they were super wellcoming and found us a table for lunch. I had the roast lamb, my husband the beef. Huge plate of really tasty food - meat, roasties, Yorkshire puds, cauliflower cheese, carrots, cabbage and broccoli with loads of gravy. Super value too. Hugely recommend for a second time. We will certainly be back.

Great pub! Great pub food: fish and chips, just perfect, cheese burger, nice and filling just the way I like. Certainly kind and friendly staff. Super nice place, lovely food, decent beer, very nice staff. Lovely atmosphere, went with landlords of another pub also called the greyhound, clearly the best of the pub names. Kind of wanted 'The Clock Table' to be made of an actual clock, but we can't have everything can we. Also enjoyed a laminated sign above a particular table that proclaimed it was, presumably permanently, reserved for the landlord and landlady. I like the idea of a de facto pub throne.

So disappointing after reading previous reviews. Fish pie was 90% carrot with minimal salmon, one large haddock bone and chewy rubbery prawns. Garlic mushrooms £6.45 for 6 tiny mushrooms with burnt garlic and half a baguette Halloumi fries are just fried halloumi with no coating, they were crunchy and not cheesy at all My partner left half his burger. The only high point was the salad Service was table service but in spite of making it clear we were ready to order we had to watch the bar staff make themselves coffee and drink it before they came to take our order and take outdoor orders from other later tables ahead of us. Definitely never visiting again

We went for an evening meal here. The pub kindly allowed us to eat a little late as we had an online meeting that evening. We had a magnificent prawn and crayfish salad and fish pie followed by Sicilian lemon sponge. The food was good . The pub was busy so you definitely need to book meals in advance - it is the only pub in the village.
