Oriental Garden in North Norfolk

Well what can I say about this amazing little Chinese restaurant! Have been here many times for takeaway and used the restaurant, brilliant food, always hot and served quickly with amazing flavour throughout the entire menu. The staff are excellent, 2 young girls work on the front counter, serving tables and answering the telephone, they are a delight, always so friendly and welcoming with a smile on their face. The staff really make this place special Keep up the good work and we will be visiting again soon Mrs C

Very friendly staff lovely gluten free food thank you for a lovely evening food was quick and hot , the meat was tender and tasty, the vegetable rice had five different vegetables in,which had a nice bite , I had chicken and sweetcorn soup for a starter which was thick and had nice pieces of chicken in and some sweetcorn, and I had prawn cracker which were warm ,great x

Great Chinese in Bacton, we dine in and have never had an issue, food is always tasty and well presented, the staff are friendly and attentive , Recommended. NB Cash only.

Old fashioned Chinese restaurant I loved.

Ordered from this place last year and again this year while on holiday. Can’t get anywhere better, just what I wanted a great Chinese and that’s what you get.

Great meal good service we ate in not busy, people were collecting take away non stop.

Three teenage waiting staff of whom only one seemed to do any work. One in a coat complaining about being there. Meat spring rolls had minuscule amount of meat in, egg fried rice had next to no egg and the crispy chilli beef was so thin it was basically batter. Never seen diced crispy duck on pancakes before which was also overcooked. Tired decor and cash only. Don’t bother

Worse Chinese experience ever. Greeted by a moody teenage girl in a coat, not welcoming at all. Lots of reviews mention this Meat spring rolls were large but had minimal meat, do well to cover your thumb nail. Told by waitress that they are vegetable spring rolls with meat Crispy duck not crispy at all but dry and lukewarm, first time not had a crispy duck shredded at the table Egg fried rice with virtually no egg accompanied by supposedly hot crispy chilli beef. Beef sadly lacking and pretty tasteless Never asked how meal was at all and 1st time in a Chinese that didn’t see a single Chinese person Would not waste your cash on this place, complete waste of money!

So if you are visiting Norforlk and you've not thought about what you're going to eat on a Sunday evening your choices are very limited as they nearly all close, but not the Oriental Garden. Obviously we had never been here before but the food was really good. You do need cash which it would have been helpful of they had said but fortunately we did. The two lovely sisters who serve you were a delight too.

Friendly staff, very helpful when I asked questions about the food. Quick service, free prawn crackers and it was all delicious!

It was amazing,the service was amazing as one of our drinks spilled and they were the nicest people i have ever met! And the food was *chefs kiss* DELICIOUS!! The duck was nice and perfectly cooked,the noodles, *A other chefs kiss*

Very disappointed was so looking forward to our evening out. Food was ok nothing special and was served worryingly quickly. Service was shocking think young waitress would benefit from a Restaurant Hospitality Training course or at least be reminded of the old adage treat others how you’d like to be treated.

Best chinese takeaway I've had and I've been all over the country with my job.

Food was average. Only takes cash which suggests somethings not quite right about this place.

We visited here on recommandation Nobody in the restaurant we decided to sit down definatly not a la carte. Two loud young girls talking very loudly and food basically dumped in front of us very quickly nobody asking if the food was ok. To be fair the food was no to bad but could not wait to get out so went to the bar and paid the bill. Must be better Chinese restaurants in the area obviously do well in the holiday season.

Fantastic food at very good value. Staff are always polite and friendly. Restaurant is very pleasant too with a nice atmosphere.

The food is good. (I've tasted better,but also tasted a lot worse) The service is terrible.. the young girl on the front desk NEVER smiles, and just grunts at you when taking your order (Not good hospitality) It's also one of those "Dodgy" CASH ONLY places. There is a cashpoint at the local shop (depending what time you go) or in Mundesley (where there is a much better chinese) or Stalham (where there are 3 Chinese takeaways)

Superb food, would highly recommend. First time visiting for a takeaway and although we had to wait it was well worth it.

Food is expensive for what you got unfortunately all food tastes the same all very bland flavours Chilli beef had no spice to it and tasted of tomato’s Hong Kong chicken was deep fried and chewy very disappointing chow mein was nothing special either as all stuck together and lacked flavour. Can’t fault the ribs tho as they was nice but not enough for the cost Unfortunately I won’t be going back as disappointed on this visit tho which was a shame as read some good reviews for the restaurant I think a rating of 3 stars is rather generous considering my experience of my takeaway try for yourselves but I would give it a miss

My family and I had a wonderful dinner here. The staff were really friendly and very sweet towards our two year old daughter. She even came away with her own tiny bag of prawn crackers! 😊 The food was of good quality and delicious! I found a couple of pieces of chicken that were a little chewy but that’s the only thing I can fault them on. The king prawns were especially good! I would love to go back again if we were in the area.

Excellent Chinese food but cash only

Very friendly staff, made the king prawn with hoisin sauce even though it wasn’t on the menu. Cash only but there is a nearby corner shop which has a cash point and cash back. Prawns very big and delicious. Would recommend. 5/5

Blown away with the quality of the food here. Went 2 nights on the run it was that good. Best Chinese I have had in years we had sweet and sour pork and chicken which was really outstanding. I cannot express how good the food is here. I would drive 5 hours from Liverpool for the night to eat here again. It is that good. Book on line as it's chocca.

Ordered takeaway & it was ready in 15 minutes . Absolutely lovely food . Everything tastes superb & not greasy in the slightest Good portions too . Well worth it I’d say

One of the very few Chinese restaurants in the area so it is convenient. Lacking in atmosphere a bit and service and food rather average but it was very reasonably priced. Note: cash only.

Very disappointing, we had takeaways from here two years ago. As we are in the area we were looking forward to trying it again. Sadly this time was a mistake, although the portions are still good, the food wasnt. Crispy duck was flabby and certainly not crisp. The other dishes were tasteless.

We hadn't been in the area for a couple of years, but as we had really enjoyed previous meals we had to get a takeaway. The portion size is still good but the food was tasteless, very disappointing.

We get takeaways from there when we are on holiday at Happisburgh because we really like the food.

Ordered here on a recommendation and wow they weren’t wrong it was amazing and tasted fresh. We ordered chicken curry, beef in black bean and chicken chow mien and one of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend

Food was 10/10 especially the Crispy duck which was really tender. Nothing was greasy and all was really tasty. Empty plates all round! Definitely recommend, although note they don't accept card payments nor do they deliver

Ordered a takeaway on a Friday night. Only a 30 minute wait. When collecting we had a little look at the restaurant area which looked well presented and was full. The food was so good, best Chinese we've had in a long time. Would recommend the duck which was tasty and tender. We'll definitely be back before our holiday ends

Passed by on travels on a break to Norfolk. Incredible find. Delicious fresh cooked food cooked with care and skill. Delicious authentic flavours. The young girls taking orders were great too. Highly recommended.

We phoned and ordered for a takeaway order on Monday evening and it was ready in 15 mins. Well packaged and hot when arrived home with it. Food was all delicious and if we ever visit again we would definitely return. We didn’t eat in so can’t comment on the atmosphere very well, only saw the entrance which seemed pleasant. Really yummy takeaway! Staff are friendly, had really quick service over the phone and order was ready to collect 10mins later. Impressed with the quality of the food, not greasy like some Chinese takeaways. Would recommend.

Four of us visited on a Saturday evening. The takeaway side of the business seemed quite busy but the restaurant was rather quiet. We ordered a set meal for four which was very good particularly the crispy duck. With 2 rounds of drinks the bill came to roughly £100 which was excellent value. This would have been a five star review if the waitresses had managed the odd smile.

Just had a takeaway from here. Absolutely delicious!! We had 3 different meals and I asked for mine spicy, which was no trouble at all. Plenty of vegetables in my Chicken & Oyster sauce, which was unexpected but delicious. We had the best Salt & Chilli prawns we have ever had! Not greasy at all and the batter was so light. Lovely and hot and fresh too. They are cash only, but definitely worth it!

Takeaway tonight was most disappointing..Barbecue ribs were dry and old , chicken balls were soggy not crisp.. The Thai curry was the only tasty part of the meal …Have been before but would never go again

I had heard good things about this place but never tried. We happened to be driving by just before closing and thought why not. Well..... I have to say that it was the BEST Chinese we have ever had. Not greasy, full of flavour, chicken balls weren't doughy. We very much enjoyed our meal and will definitely be using Oriental Garden again. Definitely worth travelling for. Clean, fresh and nicely decorated. Staff were accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu which was reasonably priced although more expensive when dining in. Food was ordered and arrived very quickly. I would recommend this restaurant for dining in.

We had a brilliant takeaway on Saturday night. The food was all piping hot, fresh ingredients and really tasty. The quarter duck was huge and spicy prawns really yummy. Was really speedy too!

Visited on both a Sunday and Monday evenings for a takeaway. Didn’t phone ahead but only waited around 10 minutes each time, and there seemed to be plenty of orders coming through. Very friendly staff. The food was excellent, will definitely be visiting again!! Would highly recommend the beef curry and beef & mushroom!

Excellent Chinese takeaway. Decent sized portions for the price. Aromatic duck was delicious and loads of meat! Very quick on a Monday night. Just 15 minutes from calling till when food was ready.

Only here for a couple of days and Oriental Gardens is apparently a top place to visit, I can see why. It appears to be a more popular, collection takeaway place. But, that's just what we observed when we were there. The staff, a very lovely couple of women, polite, considerate, checking how our meal is etc.... Now, we were very concerned when the "Sea salt and pepper" chips showed up, looking like normal chips but this is not true. Try them, you'll taste the difference.... No, the Meat Spring Rolls. You see that you only get 2 and if you're from London, you'll think this is a joke, 2!? It should be 10. Trust me, 2 is enough, they're tasty and massive! Worth the visit, but they really only take cash payments. No card, at all. Wine, we both had a glass of the pinot and rose, both lasted the meal. We drank them slowly to be fair but the waitress, did come over and ask if we'd like the water or more wine. A* in my books.

A really nice Chinese the food was excellent and the service really good. Disabled access and a few parking spaces just outside.

Felt it not really acceptable that it was a cash only restaurant. Prices are high for what you get. On plus side food was nice but experience was marred by cash only and surroundings not really reflecting Prices charged

Food yummy, but best avoided in peak times. We pre-ordered our takeaway food 2 hours in advance and still had to wait 45mins when we arrived at our agreed collection time. Vague apologies from staff.

Very friendly staff. The young lady taking the orders was exceptionally polite. The food was lovely good size portions and very reasonably priced. We had a takeaway and by the time we got back to Mundesley it was still hot. I would fully recommend this place and will most definitely be going back.

Food was nice. For some mad reason they still don’t accept card payments. This just feels weird and I can’t think of any reason why a restaurant would wish to only accept cash. Decor was a bit bright and cold. No real regrets as the food was nice, but needs to modernise.

Great Chinese food here, we usually ring ahead for takeaway to save the wait. They get very busy during the holiday season and Saturday nights so plan ahead. Its cash only. Delivery NOT available sadly as I'm sure they'd be even busier! Really authentic delicious Chinese food, always piping hot. We haven't eaten in since CV19, everything looks clean, there are hand sanitizers and the staff wear masks. We would recommend this venue for good food.

Absolutely gorgeous. Staying close by in a touring caravan. We will go again before we leave
