Poor customer service. Wouldn’t recommend. Ordered a drink and then asked to drink up and get out as they wanted to lock the door. Not spoken to at all when ordering that I was on a time limit (it’s 5pm). From the minute I walked in to the minute I left I felt uncomfortable. Seems like they only like customers they know and anyone new is obviously not welcome.

Quaint, lovey, fresh warm and welcoming. As new residents we stumbled upon this local favourite quite quiclky and its certainly one of our favourite places to grab a coffee after the morning school drop off, to get a light snack after school, or to head out as a family for a gew glasses and some lovely comfort foods. Very glad to be a new neighbour

An absolute banging breakfast. First class food, warm and tasty and a good size. Service was friendly and welcoming. The whole experience was perfect for a morning breakfast. The food came out quickly and looked clean and appetising. Will definitely come back again!

Came here with some friends- apart from an initial mix up when someone had cancelled our booking- after a little wait this was sorted out and the manager was very apologetic. The food was hot and delicious. The service was efficient and polite. Absolutely no complaints and would definitely go again.

We don’t know the area or the restaurant but we’re looking for somewhere to have a nice lunch. The building is beautiful and the interior of the restaurant was stylish. The staff member who served us was really nice, polite and helpful. However, we ordered focaccia which was out of the fridge or freezer and was cold in the middle. When asked to heat it up - it still came back cold. That was a bad start. I had sardines gratin, this was almost stone cold. The other half had chicken terrine which was lovely, the best part of the meal, plenty of flavour and a lovely chutney to go with it. I had plaice for my main, the fish was perfectly cooked, but again, cold! I got some chips with parmesan and truffle, they were hot, but everything else was cold. The other half had a steak and chips. The chips were hot, the steak cold! You can see a theme here. We didn’t bother with desert, which was a shame. I’d have liked to have staid for coffee and desert, but I couldn’t bring myself to - as the restaurant was also cold! I’m not sure if the issue with the food is that the hot lights on the pass just are not hot enough, or whether the plates are not warm when the chef serves or whether there’s a timing issue and the meat or fish ends up cooked too long in advance of the other elements. The food (which was presented beautifully and executed well, just really not hot enough!) was just really very let down by the fact it was all cold. I’m really gutted because I really wanted to like it, and it has so much potential, but I think that if they don’t sort simple things out, they are doomed to fail. You’ve got a really good setting, good looking food and you can tell that the chef is trying hard to have a fab restaurant but you cannot serve cold food. It was a real shame.

We had been wanting to eat here since we moved to Clacton 2 years ago. Last night on our way home from a trip to London I looked at the set menu shown on line and decided to try it. We arrived and ordered. Sorry but I have eaten at several Thai restaurants but this food was more Chinese than anything. Nothing contained the ingredients associated with Thai food. Really disappointed and I don’t think we will be eating here again.

The customer service here was absolutely excellent. Everything came in good time and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant interior has an amazing ambience. I ordered a lamb damask and garlic naan, and they tailored the spice level to my tolerance, and I have to say it is one of the best curries I’ve had. I wholeheartedly recommend this place

Update! One year later… AVOID!!!!!! The food here is now really bad. Both lamb and beef dishes were bland and had a really weird soft texture, it was like soft lumps of something, not even sure what it was. Maybe the meat was soaked in corn starch or baking soda for years??? The Teriyaki beef fillet was a joke, it looked and tasted nothing like Teriyaki. The crispy tofu was extremely dry, almost like crunchy biscuit texture. The ‘chef’ obviously had no clue what he is doing, or at least doesn't care for nice quality food served with pride. I have the feeling this restaurant has a new ownership and they must be shameless to serve this kind of rubbish!

I went there on new years eve, this is my first time to go there, we got one table on corner side. The manager was not friendly. He always talk to his well known customers, he doesn't care the new customers. Waiter wasn't not clean, one middle aged waiter spread very bad smell from his mouth, food wasn't not good, food was cold, We order the lamb dish, lamb was chewy, taste was very bad, naan bread was raw, onion bajih was very oily taste wasn't not good as well, dish was dirty and I got something weird on the side of the dish such as grease, very disappointed, I never back to them.

Excellent as always but noisy Christmas parties spoilt the atmosphere a bit. Surprised to see staff popping around the corner to smoke (no handwashing), in a food establishment. Not sure I understand the rationale behind the bar for drinks in what was the space with the best tables in the restaurant.
