The best restaurants in East of England

Went there 2 years ago and it was absolutely great, just been there again and it was superb, great food ,excellent service and really busy. Highly recommend

Alba Chiara - Italian restaurant Dinner, nice welcome, friendly and attentive staff. (Jess) Very helpful with menu choices and choice of Italian wines (supported by Tom). Restaurant in the seafront lovely atmosphere spacious and comfortable seating no feeling of being cramped. Music a mix of eighties British pop and only a couple of Italian tunes. Understandable given that the clientele was predominantly British. Starters - Rucola e pomodoro , fresh crisp not overly dressed with balsamic dressing, nice portion , perfect. Main dish - Risotto Gamberi Cozze e Zucchine , fresh mussels cooked to perfection nice tomato flavour sauce but slightly lacking in depth which was perfectly resolved with two teaspoons of parmejano. Meal piping hot and adequate Portion if you had a starter. Not long to wait. Desert - Affogato al cafe, the ice cream, espresso and I requested a shot of Amaretto Dis Ciirono well presented and served separately in a small dish. The Amaretto provided the perfect sweetness to round off the deep flavour of the espresso and the hint of almond was just enough to compliment the flavour of the vanilla ice cream and match the coffee flavour without loosing anything along the way. A perfect recommendation made by the knowledgeable (cocktail and bar supervisor and dining waiter, front desk customer support -Tom). The main server for my evening meal was professionally provided by Jess (friendly and very helpful with the menu choices) . Overall a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended. Will definitely return on my next trip to Felixstowe. Complements to the proprietor Steffan and his entire team.

I have back-packed Thailand. It has been a decade since I have found food that was exceptional and authentic. The staff were delightful, attentive and accommodating to my family. They were exceptional and provided for vegans, vegetarians and children. Truly wonderful.

Service ok but say they cater to vegans but no vegan cheese. So child had pizza with tomato sauce !!! We had 3 kids and 1 adult. All pizzas and garlic bread 1 g & t 1 coke 1 Fanta total £90!! Ridiculous nothing special about pizzas or anything at all. Felt mightily ripped off

All curry’s taste the same, lack of flavour, heat and spice. Also not much meat. Naan breads very good.

The food is always excellent here and you never leave hungry. The portions are very generous and reasonably priced. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this pub for dining or just drinks.

I had a breakfast here today. It was very good and reasonable price. The staff were friendly and efficient I will definitely be coming back again, without a doubt the best cafe in this area.

Very disappointed. When away hungry as portion size was small. Roast beef was raw which I wasn't told when ordering. The roast potatoes were undercooked as well. £24 for a small roast beef was not value for money. £4.40 for a coke which didn't have much flavour. Also asked to move tabls as the chairs had very low backs and was told no. Definitely not accessible friendly.

I have been before and have enjoyed the breakfast here. However, had dinner here today and was very disappointed to learn from the server that the quesadillas are pre-made. My jerk bowl had elements that appeared microwaved/heated up and my stomach is now feeling unsettled as the food was not heated hot enough - it was lukewarm. Disappointing as would love to support a vegan place.

Definitely the best chippy in Yarmouth although the small fella serving was very rude and not interested in anything other than being on his phone but the food was amazing to be fair lovely stuff

Good location in Bovingdon with small car park and some off-road parking nearby. Plenty of options, food is well-presented (lots of food colouring, which is standard and expected), all appears freshly cooked. The service is friendly - they always check in on you. Nice range of dessert options, which is rare! Well worth a visit if you are craving a curry. I prefer a spicier option as these tend to be more flavourful. I would not opt for mild unless you really cannot tolerate spice. Friendly suggestion would be to add some herbs to mild dishes & serve the dishes a little hotter, if at all possible. Been several times and will be back.
