Blue Ginger in Bedford

2nd order from here over the course of a few weeks and sadly both times I've been a little disappointed with the food, which hasn't matched up to what I've received from local alternatives. I've tried the balti and the dansak, both I found to be quite bland and the lamb a bit tough. seems to be ok for others judging by the reviews but I will probably avoid in future.

food arrived early piping hot. great portion sizes. I ordered 2 fries but next time I will only need 1 fries, the bag was huge. great tasting food, will definitely come here again

No warning to let us know it was on its way but that was a positive as arrived much earlier than anticipated! Was good to be able to order a curry for me and a beige meal for my son! Son said nuggets were ok (could have been a little crispier!) Chicken Bhuna was tasty but a bit more sauce/ liquid would have been better! Chicken was very good quality! Would definitely order again!

Rich flavours and super quick delivery! The food was still very hot when arrived and we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered.

Order showed as delivered but wasn’t. Had to get Just Eat involved and food showed up 15mins later. Food was good but not special. Would’ve been a nice touch to throw in some poppadoms free of charge considering we were spending nearly £100, most places do this for lesser order values. Will we order here again? Probably not. Can get better value elsewhere.

Chicken madras and salmon masala both beautiful flavours as was Bombay aloo and saag aloo. Food delivered hot and on time. Would definitely reorder.

Increased prices, slow delivery (I appriciate it was Sat evening) contents of the delivery containers seemed partly filled. And for once did not enjoy the meal. - will not use this company again.

Flavourful, hot, naan slightly dry and tough but overall a tasty meal.

I normally order from Blue Ginger and usually have a lovely meal… this time the curries weren’t HOT , the peshwari nann ( of which I was sent 2 ??! ) they were both stale / didn’t seem fresh,, also quite cold …. The food tasted ok , but not up to the normal standards I would say … we we’re disappointed

First time ordering and was the best take away curry we’ve had in a long time. Was a slight delay in delivery which I was notified about and food arrived piping hot. All of the dishes were delicious and great value for money. 100% recommend and will be having again!

Ordered few things out of which ordered a portion of lamb samosa and a portion of vegetable samosas as my wife is vegetarian and the delivered lamb samosas. Worst restaurant experience and when you call them they just want to give food for hurting someone’s religious belief

We ordered veg and lamb samosa, even the container which had veg written on it had lamb samosa and as someone who is a pure veg, I had meat. We also ordered 3 biryani’s which were horrible. They do not know what Biryani is, it was just tasteless pilav rice mixed with bland veg, chicken and lamb. A disgrace on name of Indian/asian restaurant. Beware before eating and do not go here if you want authentic Asian subcontinent food.

It was like a microwave meal. £18 For a starter and main with no salad supplied. Had no taste at all. Threw it in the bin. Will never order from there again

Wasn't impressed with the quality of the food at all. Very disappointing. Take away as they no longer offer eat in, which is a worry in itself. I remember going here when it first opened about 10 years ago and having a fantastic meal.. not sure what's happened but I won't be ordering again. No flavor at all.

SUMMARY:The Naan bread was mot fresh and was rubbery and cold. The chicken tikka massala was luke warm. When I telephoned Blue Ginger to give feedback over the phone, whomever answered seemed disinterested and said that the next time I order he will make sure I don't have these issues. I won't be reordering with them in the future. Why would I when there is so much competition out there. To be clear I was not requesting a discount, refund or anything else ..I just wanted to know that they were listening. I got the impression they were not. REVIEW: Blue Ginger now operates a Takeaway Service and in the past we have had good meals. This evening the meal was disappointing. I ordered through there app which I would rate 10/10. I received emails and text messages giving me an estimation time for collection of 30 minutes. I arrived 10 minutes early and collected the food only a few minutes after their estimation. It took me 7 minutes to walk home with the food which I had placed in an insulated bag to keep it warm. The naan bread was not freshly made and was cold and rubbery. The chicken tikka massala was cold. The onion basis, pilau rice and other items were satisfactory but we have had better meals from Blue Ginger in the past I would rate the food on this occasion as 5/10.

really nice food. Arrived on time, nice and hot. I recommend this place. My only criticism is that the rice portion could have been bigger, but it didn't spoil the overall meal.
