Diya Royal in Bedford

Met up with some old friends here. Lovely food and reasonably priced. The staff were really nice, polite and friendly. We're already planning a return visit!

Had a fantastic curry night with friends who love curry but struggle to find good quality near them in north Cumbria They confirmed they have nothing like Dyia We started with a massive spread - mixed grill, mogo, and chilli paneer - so delicious we barely had room for the mains! We shared noodles fish and vegi & keema Punjabi with rice and tandoori roti, but ended up taking about a third home because there was just so much food. Great service and a warm welcome too, thanks!

Superb food, a good choice of traditional dishes and some interesting specials. Well worth the travel from the town centre. Have been a few times now and never disappointed. Highly recommended

This is the worse gulag jamun I have ever ordered or eaten from anywhere, first of all it smelt like a curry, almost like they re used the pot they put it in, and there completely dry, what a mess because the food was lovely and the dessert ruined it all

You know when you try out a restaurant for the first time and you're SO impressed that you have to go back to check if it really was that good? Well tonight was my second visit and, yes, I was right… it really is that good. A lovely warm atmosphere, exemplary service, friendly staff and, above all, some of the best Asian food I have ever tasted. I can certainly feel a third visit coming on before too long.

The food was good and we had a lovely time. Service was excellent. However beer prices are expensive, so we've cut down on drinks in pubs & restaurants.

Organised a karaoke evening at Diya Royal on the 31 Dec New Year's Eve. The food was delicious and very good service. Friendly staff. The owner of the restaurant very accommodating and good natured. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you Mr Neeran.

As the name Diya Royal so their food Royal as well. Just delicious and so athletic taste of Asia. Each and every dish have unique taste not like other restaurants. Reasonable prices and not a bad location in Kempston Service was friendly and professional. You can enjoy drinks with food too because it’s a pub as well. Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere in dine area. We all friends had an amazing time and thinking to make it permanent every month. Highly recommended. They’ll never disappoint you.

Had a work meal here first time here! Was lovely food and great service would 100% visit again! Right nextdoor to the pub aswell so all in all great visit!

Service was really bad and food take ages to arrive. In addition there was a fly at the bottom of a wine glass which is unacceptable. I informed staff twice about speaking to the manager and she did not have the audacity to come over the table and speak to us and apologise.

Another fabulous lunch, this time with our relatives from The States. Great food, and very attentive staff. Plus, being attached to The Griffin, a great choice of beers, including Guinness and Cobra

I work all around the UK and have had many a curry while on my travels. This restaurant is by far the best I have visited. I had a paneer chilli, this was a sweet and sour cheese dish with mixed peppers. Panner cheese was perfectly cooked and absolutly lovely. For the main I had bhuteko masu which is a lamb dish cooked Napealese village style, the sauce was thick and very flavoursome and the generous portions of meat were so soft that I only used my fork for the whole meal. Some may think that the meat pieces were small, on the contrary they needed splitting with my fork. Garlic fried rice and a peshawari naan were also cooked to perfection. The staff at the restaurant deserve a mention, they are professional, helpful and very friendly and prompt. Unfortunately I did not get to meet the kitchen staff but they deserve as much, if not more praise for their excellent culinary skills. 10 out of 10 gents, I will be back

Have been eating here since it opened but recently it has gone downhill on more than one occasion. The service is bad, orders wrong, mains coming out before starters. Portions and quality is not as good recently. Owners are lovely but will not take criticism or offer apologies on the night. Really disappointed as has been our favourite restaurant locally.

This place has gone down hill really bad customer service advertise drinks at one price but charge you more when you approach the owner she dont care at all it’s soo money in her eyes it’s very sad I have to put negative but I’m being ignored and nothing happens this is 3rd time now being here and had a complain such a shame as normally so nice

This is the second time eating here and everything was as before the staff were friendly but professional the food was great if you go I recommend the Momos, the onion bhaji and definitely the noodle dishes.

Last night we revisited Diya Royal after our first meal maybe 6 weeks ago. Again the service was exemplary as was the food. You can tell a good restaurant when it was extremely busy on a Wednesday evening! There is a wide choice on the menu and all the food as fresh as could be Thanks, we will return

We partook of a takeaway for our first order from Dina Royal last Friday. The food was excellent and all our dishes were of top quality. We will be back for more, and maybe in the restaurant next time !

We have tried many different Indian restaurants across Bedfordshire but Diya Royale for us 'wins hands down'. My husband had the Korma which was full of succulent Chicken with a silky smoothe and perfectly flavoured sauce. Furthermore the Special Fried Rice was 'special ' indeed....

First time for me here and was very busy. I had poppadoms, onion bhaji, chicken bhuna with mushroom rice and keema Naan My god it was all delicious! I highly recommend coming here. It was sooooo tasty and yum yum yum. The staff were all very well presented, polite and helpful. Top notch. Well done!

Absolutely delicious food and very friendly staff

Had a cheeky meal here and it is absolutely stunning. Forgot to take photos but will do the next time I'm there! The starter I had was the momos. A colleague and I had the two different offerings of momos. One was steamed dumplings and the other was fried dumplings. They were amazing. I followed that with the super king prawn curry and basmati rice. This was creamy, not too spicy and very tasty. The menu covered, Thai, Gurkha and Indian cuisine. The staff are amazing and catered for our large group exceptionally well.

Dined out at Diya Royal a few times over the years and enjoyed the food, you don't visit for the atmosphere, a mediocre dining room stuck onto the side of a down at heel pub. Ordered before 6:30 and was advised the food would take 40-45 minutes. We waited an hour before chasing and were told it was on its way. Phoned 10 minutes later to be advised I'd have a call back with an update. No update arrived so (90 minutes after making the initial order) called back again to cancel. I'm reluctant to leave a negative review unless it's deserved, this is the second time Diya Royal have let us down on a delivery, virtually the same issues with delivery and delays. They must surely realise they're unable to fulfil their orders so are either completely disorganised or consciously stringing customers along assuming people will just keep paying. The upshot was we waited an hour and a half for food that didn't arrive. Once we cancelled we had to look elsewhere, but driving to Bromham Road found our next choice closed on Bank Holiday Monday. Ended up cooking ourselves (only just finished, a couple of hours after we'd expected to eat). An evening ruined - Thanks Diya Royal, look forward to you making the refund ASAP - never again

Visited Diya Royal this weekend… a story of two tales. The Postives - The Venue, the staff & quality of food. The Diya mixed grill was great & so was the naans. The Negative - Portion sizes are outrageously small, to the point it’s embarrassing. I’ve never seen such a small portion of chilli chips and the Currys sizes for the special Currys is tiny! A small pot with half filled curry in it. Barely any pieces of meat. The quality and taste of the food is great but the food sizes are not on. It really upset me because we came here for Mother’s Day and the sizes of the food were so small wr had to make sure everyone had enough. This would be my new local if the portion sizes are normal & respectable. Not a tiny pot which is half filled with mainly sauce. I hope management can appreciate the sizes of food are tiny.

We were abit unsure when we first tried the restaurant when it first opened. But gave it another go afew months later. Food was amazing a great vegetarian menu. We absolutely love going to eat here now. Highly recommended

Disgusting experience. Awful service and unacceptable behaviour of their manager. Absolutely clueless and misleading website with fake information of a 60minute commitment for deliveries. Will NEVER Visit them/order from them or recommend them ever. They have left my children starving after a 2.5hour wait from the time of order.

We had a most wonderful meal last night at Diya Royal, still Kempston's one and only Nepalese restaurant. The service was quick, efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is buzzing, complete with colorful and detailed decorations and Gurkha-themed memorabilia. As it is joined to The Griffin pub, the bar is stocked with all the beers, ciders, wines and spirits anyone could ever need - which also includes Cobra beer ON TAP. We decided on the Peregrino merlot from Chile, a full bodied red wine with plenty of dark fruit accents. For starters, we had poppadoms (made fresh on site, of course), and I asked for the breaded salt and pepper king prawns, which came with seasoned diced vegetables, burnt garlic and garden-fresh green chillies. It was TO DIE FOR. The accompanying chutney dips for the poppadoms (mango, mint and onion) were also made and prepared on site. For my main, I went for one of their house specials, the Gurkhali Khasi - a slow hundy cooked Nepalese lamb curry with frsh coriander and spring onions. The lamb was so tender it practically melted in the mouth. My accompanying mushroom rice (shock horror, wouldn't have seen that coming!) was also splendid, and not dripping with ghee as is sometimes the case. They aren't slouches when it comes to Indian food either, as my partner decided to play it slightly safe and went with the chicken tikka masala, which was smooth yet bursting with flavour. I'm advised that she'll be more adventurous next time though! The prices are highly competitive, especially considering the portion sizes. The chocolates that came with the bill were milk chocolate mints, rather than dark chocolate mints. We were delighted with that, too! You can bet that we'll be back again soon enough. There's a lot more to sample from that menu, it's practically a given that a second and third visit is required.
