The best restaurants in East Midlands

1 star Really disappointed with my recent visit to Franky’s Fish Bar. I ordered cheesy chips and found a hair mixed in with the food (photo attached). It’s completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of hygiene. I won’t be coming back unless standards improve. Please take better care when preparing food!

Absolutely outstanding! Originally asked for delivery at 10pm and even though they close at 10 there were still willing to deliver to me. I rang about 8 ish asking if it was possible to be delivered as soon as possible, was given the time slot 45/1hr for delivery which I was more than okay with... not only did it come within 30 minutes, it was still piping hot, a free extra nan bread and a free popadom. The food was exceptional and the prices are great too! I will definitely be coming back/ordering from here again🥰

Called in for lunch hoping that the new renovation would be reflected in the food quality I tried the cod chips and curry sauce It was ok at best The curry sauce was lacking in flavour and slightly glutinous from too much cornflour The chips were pale in my opinion not really hot enough The cod if it was cod was poor, I don’t know how long it had been sat in the warming area. The batter was greasy and not crispy However Excellent service and reasonable price at 8.50 I wish it was 5 star Wanted it to be so, but after all the investment in the new shop the food needs to reflect that Fresh hot chips, fresh cod in crispy batter well cooked would be good

Placed an order for delivery, received within the time they said, I hadn’t had a curry for quite a while, I ordered onion bajee tikka masala, and Nan bread , very enjoyable. Ordered the same the next week but asked for the masala to be not too sweet and a little hotter , order delivered promptly and absolutely delicious, they excelled in my expectations, That one was the best curry I’ve had , cannot recommend it enough… Next one I’ll dine in .

Visited today from Derby after visiting Saint Bernards Abbey. We got a very warm Welcome. We ordered soup and a sconewhich both were absolutely lovely . As were the coffees. We took some cakes and cheese home. We always love visiting here. Highly recommended. Always best to book though as they do get busy.

We called with literally 2 minutes notice on NYE as we’d booked at Bank House across the road but the service was so appalling that we walked out. Sangams fitted us in with no fuss, and we had great service and a delicious meal at really reasonable prices. The lamb & paneer curry and lemon & cashew rice were particularly good. Thanks so much!

We’ve visited several times and it never fails to disappoint. The food is fresh, beautifully served and delicious. It is reasonably priced and well worth a visit

We dropped in with a massive last minute order. The staff are amazing and friendly, and so helpful We really can't thank you enough for today, everyone was really happy with their lunch. We can't wait for our next big chippy lunch!

First time we had visited but definitely not the last! Impressed with the menu, had vegetable balti, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, all fresh and delicious. Desserts were to die for, wonderful range, our daughter suggested coming just for the puddings! Fruity-licious crepe, After 8 sundae, Milk chocolare cookie, and Chocolate fudge cake were soon disposed of. Friendly service. Highly recommended.

this is an excellent restaurant. The food is great. The staff are polite and helpful. You want a good evening with excellent food fully recommend you book as it is very busy.
