The best restaurants in East Midlands

My Aunt and I were looking for somewhere to stay while we visited my uncle (her brother) during summer 2024 and, after I did a search on the internet, I found this place. It looked like a good place from their website but we'd never been before. We stayed 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis and dined there on an evening. We were very impressed with the location, the building, the staff and the food and drink. The parking was somewhat limited (some parking spaces onsite with additional parking across the road), and the accommodation is accessed up a bit of a steep staircase but those are the only two things I would mention, not as a complaint but in case there are people looking to visit who might have issues with stairs, etc. They are also dog friendly, so I've put it on my maybe list if I'm ever this way again with my dog but would definitely book again in the future if I'm ever in need of accommodation in this area again.

Fun and friendly restaurant with authentic Arabian dishes. Great quality food and good value for money. Nice new venue also.

Another outstanding breakfast at Darfoulds Nursery's. Amazing food, great prices, and great staff. Then, back to pick some stunning plants for the garden with help from the brilliant staff. A must for everyone 👏

Pub meals but nice..Staff are friendly a nice Family Pub

I like their indian cousine. Update: The owner of the place is different. I couldn't find anything to order for now. I guess I have to wait for a while until it gets back to full menu. Update: Their time table is wrong, on several occasions, they were not open at 11:00

The staff are really welcoming and the service is excellent. The ambience and tasteful décor compliment everything and i would say one of the best cafe's or bistro been to in a while. We travelled from Belper which is a town blessed with great eateries. No 4 ranks highly with all of the cafes here and we will visit again! Great value for money and excellent food and coffee, thanks again!

Lovely pub, food is amazing. One of the best in the area. Plenty of choice on the menu, Great service and a really nice friendly atmosphere.

Popped in for a quick coffee and breakfast. Also to do a bit of work. Street parking nearby but only for an hour or two. You have to go upstairs not sure if there is a lift for the less mobile. Nice and spacious. Coffee lovely breakfast average not very warm . Lovely bread and all good value. Service lovely and friendly. Will defiantly visit again.

Fantastic food! We were recommended this Chinese and it did not disappoint. Service was amazing - they helped us choose what food and let us customise the set meal to add in some favourites. Highly recommend!

Hands down the best Indian food in Hinckley for takeaway and dining in. I always order a takeaway but decided to take the family for a meal this time. Everyone’s food was spot on and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The guys that work in there are true gents as well, nothing is too much trouble for them. Highly recommend to anyone wanting Indian food in the local area.

Haven’t been here for at least 2 years. In the past we found the cafe very friendly with high quality food. First of all I was surprised how empty it was. In the past we were lucky to get a table. This should have been a sign. I sat down to a sticky table. I ordered a burger with chips. I asked if it could come as a cheeseburger. What arrived was a skinny beef patty on a basic un buttered Morrisons roll. No relish, onion, tomato. And the cheese! They dolloped a load of cheap grated cheese on it. The chops were from frozen and the salad garnish was dry as a bone. I had to go find some vinegar. There was no salt in the cheap plastic ‘Aldi’ salt cellar. No serviettes anywhere. I’m not even going to discuss my wife’s frozen ‘Fish & Chips’ with watered down mushy peas. I was so disappointed and will never visit this cafe again. Luckily there is lots of choice in Lutterworth.

Stopped here for breakfast a couple of days ago while out on a motorcycle ride. Fantastic breakfast with good quality ingredients, well cooked and well presented. Including coffee it was just under £11, so a pretty good deal too. It's easy to see why the place is so busy.

Daylight robbery. The owners are deluded. Stupidly overpriced. The owners don’t live in the real world. Stuck up muppets. Avoid this cafe it’s a absolute ripoff
