Haven’t been here for at least 2 years. In the past we found the cafe very friendly with high quality food. First of all I was surprised how empty it was. In the past we were lucky to get a table. This should have been a sign. I sat down to a sticky table. I ordered a burger with chips. I asked if it could come as a cheeseburger. What arrived was a skinny beef patty on a basic un buttered Morrisons roll. No relish, onion, tomato. And the cheese! They dolloped a load of cheap grated cheese on it. The chops were from frozen and the salad garnish was dry as a bone. I had to go find some vinegar. There was no salt in the cheap plastic ‘Aldi’ salt cellar. No serviettes anywhere. I’m not even going to discuss my wife’s frozen ‘Fish & Chips’ with watered down mushy peas. I was so disappointed and will never visit this cafe again. Luckily there is lots of choice in Lutterworth.

We were driving up the M1 and fancied somewhere for lunch that wasn't the services, so called into Lutterworth to see what we could find. And we found this little gem. Bright, fresh, quick service, and delicious food. Perfect for what we needed.

We ordered two omelettes with coffees. One of the omelettes arrived black burnt on both sides, completely inedible. There was no word of apology when I returned it. How, both the cook and the waitress, who served it, didn’t notice this beggars belief. I only received a refund, when I asked for it on leaving. This was our first time at this café and our last.

I visit Karters at least once a week with my elderly mum and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Most of them probably know my order better than I do! The coffee is very good, I’ve never had a bad double espresso. They also serve freshly cooked hot and cold food and home baked cakes. The carrot cake and chocolate como are better than most I have tasted. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area

Nice little cafe near town centre. Order at the counter. Service was quite prompt. We had toasties and the children had sausage, chips and baked beans. The sausages looked dry. The toasties came with small salad garnish and coleslaw. The toasties were not bad but the coleslaw was definitely not the best I've eaten. The menu included jacket potatoes, paninis and toasties with a good range of fillings, plus sandwiches and soup. A senior citizens special was advertised available on Thursdays. There is one toilet up four steps with no baby changing and no disabled facilities. A large TV was on with no sound and the inevitable music playing over a speaker. Having said that I would go again if I was visiting Lutterworth at lunchtime.

The place I usually go to when in Lutterworth was closed so I called into this cafe instead. Now I wish I had discovered it earlier. Being in the heart of town makes this place ideally located. It looks inviting enough from the outside but inside is nicely presented, clean and well furnished. The menu has all you might expect and my cheese and ham toastie was very good, coming with salad and coleslaw. A nice point was when I asked for the WiFi code. Rather than getting pointed towards a notice on the counter as usual I was given a giant clothes peg holding a note with the password on it. Small thing, but a nice touch.

Visited for coffee & cake. A light and airy cafe, bustling on a Thursday afternoon. The prices are very reasonable, mains are £8, sandwiches, baguettes etc around £5. We had a cappuccino and cake for two, £13. Service was a bit slow but they did apologise as it was busy. They are licensed too and drink prices seem reasonable too.

A number of size options for a big breakfast price up to £12 (has long large sausages) as well as other breakfast alternatives available. Open throughout the day so other foods on the menu. Dog and child friendly-high chairs available. Spacious so plenty of room, and also clean. Its a central location in Lutterworth town, close to car parks. A recomended visit.

Visited Karters in August this year and saw a latte on a table as I approached to place our order. I asked if I could have a latte like his and was told that it was messy because it had spilled over by accident. I said it looked great and they should sell it as a 'Messy Latte'. Food was very good, staff were very friendly and welcoming and the Messy Latte is a must! Highly recommended.

Visiting Lutterworth today for the first time, we were unsure about where to have lunch. Having considered a couple of places, Karter’s Cafe stood out as lively, vibrant and clean. Great menus with a good range of food and drinks being available at very reasonable prices, we could chose a hot snack easily. Good signage led us to the counter, order placed, tempting cakes in view. Brilliant cheerful chap in charge - with oceans of patience with indecisive customers - thank you. Three plates of poached eggs with tea and coffee came perfectly cooked, and quite quickly. Hugely recommended, lunchtime does appear to become afternoon tea time around 2.30. Time your visit as it becomes very busy around 2pm. Popular with people of all ages. We hope to visit Lutterworth again in 2023 for another exhibition nearby, giving us another opportunity to visit Karter’s Cafe again. Thank you for a great lunch!

Heading along the motorway, we always like to use local independent places rather than motorway services, so dropped in here as we had used it before and only 5 mins from the M1. Walked in and found a table, it still had the bustling atmosphere to say it was a Monday. We all chose and placed the order with a lovely lady at the till, specifically asking for a pot of decaf tea and a pot of ‘full fat’ tea. The waitress who arrived with our drinks brought a tea bag in each cup and one tea point of hot water, when we explained we wanted pots of tea, she just rolled her eyes and shook her head before storming off to get another tea pot. When she came back, she seemed to have sorted the attitude out. This was a real shame as the food was excellent as was the initial welcome.

It is spotlessly clean and well decorated. The staff are always friendly as is the owner. The ingredients used here are locally sourced and as meals are individually cooked there may be a slight wait, something that is mentioned on a notice by the counter. The cafe is also popular with children from the local school who are ALWAYS well behaved and polite. The fact that this cafe is so popular speaks for itself

Popped my table number back on the counter and walked out. In hindsight I should have asked for the money back on the food, but I was so cross I just left. Even if you don’t read my review, Have one of the milkshakes from Karters and you will see why I have given it an excellent rating. Where do I even start with this magnificent little gem in Lutterworth? Karter’s is second to no other place in Lutterworth. The staff are all local faces which I know well and are always more than happy to help me decide what I want. Danny and Sian who run the cafe are always cheerful and know me by name which makes it all that more personal. It’s a great little place for me to take my university work as the free WiFi makes browsing and learning easy. I am always excited when my small English breakfast is brought out and it’s easy to swap and change some of the items (such as mushrooms which I’m not fond of) and Danny had no issues with catering for this. Since Karter’s has opened, I’ve not considered Costa-fortune coffee and I wouldn’t want to!

My mum and I decided to try in here for lunch together one day and had a truly amazing experience. The value of what we got for our money was unapralled, but the way we were taken care of is what was truly one of a kind.My mum eats gluten-free and is usually very easy going in terms of her diet. But the options she had on the table were almost mind-blowing considering some places only offer scraps. They offered her white and brown options, and over a dozen fillings she could have and customise. Neither of us were struggling for choice, which is precious. The owner was a big part of this; he was charming and welcoming from the moment we stepped in, walked us through every step of our order and meals and made brilliant conversation with us. His knowledge and passion are what make this place so special. If you are looking for a lunch or coffee and cake in Lutterworth, make it worth your while by side-stepping Costa and coming here instead.

We stopped for a drink and snack. You order at the till and your order is brought to your table. It was quite busy and we had a few minutes wait for our drinks. There was a reasonable choice of drinks and biscuits/cakes

Karters is a bright and comfortable cafe, that is welcoming and friendly - and the staff are lovely. The food is fresh and there is plenty of it. From sandwiches and baguettes to homemade soup, or something more filling for lunch, the food is delicious. Brunch, lunch, or just for a coffee, I love going there.

Order at 9am if you want lunch 🙄 honestly I don't think I've been anywhere so slow. Even at full capacity it should not be hard to manage with the level of staff. Avoid.. Unless you see going for breakfast as a full day activity.

We haven't been to Kilworth House for a very long time but thought it was about time to give it a another go! Well you won't be disappointed - the food in the The Wordsworth was amazing! We have been to many Michelin starred restaurants and I must say that this would not look out of place! We were very well looked after. The only I would say is that they need another dish per course on the menu as there were only 3 starters, 3 main courses etc. Also it was a shame that there wasn't more people in the restaurant but I suppose it is January. We will definitely be going back!

Stayed here overnight, the room was beautiful and spotless ditto bathroom. We opted to eat in the restaurant and the food was delicious and plentiful, it’s probably the best vegetarian lasagne I’ve eaten, there was a good choice for vegetarians , my husband really enjoyed the gammon. We were both so full we couldn’t manage a pudding. The bar was really busy but we couldn’t hear a word from our room. I slept for nearly 9 hours which is rare for me. The staff were attentive but not overbearing, they are certainly an asset to the business that’s for certain. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

An Absolute Gem in the Heart of the Countryside! I’m not from around the area, but during my stay, I found myself coming back to The Staff of Life Pub every single day—and with good reason! The food here is simply out of this world. From the mouth-watering tapas, which were a delightful mix of flavors and textures, to the traditional roast dinner that was as comforting as it was delicious, everything was cooked to perfection. And don’t even get me started on the apple pie—it’s truly to die for. Each bite was a slice of heaven, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. Beyond the food, the ambience of the pub is fantastic. It has that perfect blend of warm, cozy, and welcoming, with a lively atmosphere that makes you feel at home, whether you're a regular or just passing through. The décor is charming, and the subtle lighting creates a wonderfully relaxed vibe. What really made my experience special was the incredible service, particularly from Sharon. She is such a gem—warm, attentive, and always ready with a smile. Sharon made sure that every visit was memorable and went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect. Whether you're local or just visiting, The Staff of Life is a must-visit. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are simply unbeatable. I’ll definitely be back!

Very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble with my food allergy. We had Sunday roast which was delicious and plentiful and after a short break we found room for dessert. Will definitely visit again when in the area.
