Las Iguanas - Centre Parcs Sherwood Forest in Newark and Sherwood

We visited on a Saturday evening at 5.15pm as a table of 6, plus a baby. The service was impeccable and everyone was friendly and smiley. Unfortunately overall the food was dire. Our starters were actually very good, so we were looking forward to a great meal. For starters across the table we had mixed calamari, baked honeyed cheese and chicken wings - all piping hot and very tasty. The main courses were where it all started to go downhill. Two of us had ordered mixed fajitas. The came out with no sizzle, which the waiter apologised for and said that the iron plate were very hot. The reason for the lack of sizzle became obvious as we were eating them. The chicken was bland and the onions and pepper slimy. It tasted as if they had all been boiled up together before being slopped onto the platter. The steak was tough as old boots and barely chewable. The king prawns weren’t bad, but a bit overcooked so a little dry. One of us had ordered a chicken burger. This came out absolutely stone cold. Not just a little bit cold as if it had been left too long after cooking, rather as if it had just come out of the fridge and been placed on a bun. We sent it back and another burger came out again within 2 minutes, which felt a little bit suspicious as if it had just been microwaved. The chicken again was completely bland, but it had been smothered in a chilli sauce to disguise the fact. No one was happy with their food and everyone left parts of their meal for one reason or another. For desert, we ordered churros grande, which tasted salty and not even a hint of cinnamon. The ‘warm’ brownie was cold- again just out of the fridge. We let our waitress know, who was very apologetic and the brownie was removed from the bill, but overall for a meal that cost £300 this was a real disappointment. Every other restaurant we visited in Center Parcs over the same weekend was great, but I wouldn’t recommend this one until they sort out their kitchen staff.

This place in my mind is the best place to eat at centreparcs sherwood forest. Menu is different and tasty. All the restaurants are pricey and portions on the small side but I really enjoyed what I had. Wife had the chilli which was extremely nice.

Party of six adults. Quite noisy. The table was a bit basic and less comfortable than Hucks but the service was spot on. One of our chosen mains was unavailable. The food was good, hot and the mains were decent portions. The tapas were on the small side compared with tapas we have ordered elsewhere. Plenty of vegetarian options. Would eat here again and will look out for the chain elsewhere. No starters or puddings. A mix of mains and tapas and one drink each. £177 for 6 people

What a fabulous evening. We eat out a lot at Center parks and this was one we knew we would remember. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere lovely but not overly noisy, and the robot cat waiters were mesmerising for my children. But the cherry on the cake was when my husband wanted a cortado coffee and was told that they were out of evaporated milk... something that has happened on three other occasions as Las Iguanas across the country. Hearing this, our waiter and the barman, Blaise and Tyler, tracked down some from somewhere else on site and turned up with the coffee, much to everyone's surprise. On request, a robot cat was also bought over for a "selfie" with the kids at the end of the evening!

Slow service not helped by the robots although they were fun to watch & my son enjoyed his food arriving on one. Children’s menu was reasonably priced, drinks were good, shared some tapas dishes, grande nachos were a small portion for the price, piri piri honey chicken wings were good alongside the patas bravas. It felt cold where we were sat & the service became slower to the point where it was a painful wait for my son’s dessert, dread to think if it had been busy! The dessert was removed from the bill, my husband walked past the kitchen to the toilet & said staff were standing around chatting so this explains it. It’s a captive audience & doesn’t live up to the same standards as other Las Iguanas’s unfortunately.

What a wonderful place to take kids. Great play area, the staff were nothing short of brilliant with the service and the children. We sat and enjoyed our dinner and drinks while the kids played. Would visit again and again shame it's in center parks and not in my village

Popped in Sunday 15th for a quick cocktail with our friends. Now, my fav cocktail is an Old Fashioned and having travelled far and wide trying them I know a good one when I see one (drink one rather). It wasn’t on the menu so I asked the waitress (a very professional and polite young lady called Gee) to see if the cocktail staff could do one. Turns out they could so the order was placed. Upon arrival it was clear the person that made it knew what they were doing by the glass, the presentation and the colour. First sip in and BOOM. Result. An exceptional Old F made by an equally professional and polite young man called Tom. He even came over to ask me if the drink was OK which we thought was a great touch, Had three more they were so good. Well done Tom. You’re now in my top three Old F cocktail makers. Exceptional service by Gee too. Well done both.

Fantastic food… the robots were really entertaining and the kids enjoyed seeing them. Can’t fault the service was greeted by a friendly & polite waitress who couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be returning

For a las iguanas it was disappointing, not like the high street version. Chilli was like it came out of a can, chicken was bland. No cinnamon and sugar on the churros! A huge let down. The other restaurants in the park are a lot better. The service was fine but unless you want cocktails I would avoid it.

Average food nothing special! Overpriced most definitely! The service is very poor, slow servers, chatting rather than cleaning dirty tables was some young guy! The robots are a waste if you ask me, the servers still have to put the food on them and often the food is lying getting cold while waiting on a server! The toilets were abysmal it was like a Mumbai slum! So dirty . Won’t retuirm

Brilliant atmosphere, very clean and modern. Loved the electronic servers and the food was the best we had all holiday. Lots of options for drinks and food and very nice waiters

Disappointing. Over priced, bland presentation, average service, robot delivering food which added nothing to the experience. Definitely the most underwhelming restaurant on site. Bonus for me was that the server dropped chocolate sauce over me so I got my main for free. Avoid.

Had lunch here and it was tasty enough but the portions were laughable for the price. £18.50 for a shredded beef burrito... with a few tiny scraps of beef and a mountain of rice. For £18.50 I expect it to be filled to bursting with beef. My boy enjoyed his meal, staff were friendly and I liked the decor.

Worst in sherwood , cant believe i went with the good reviews on here , childrens portions for adults , food undercooked , presentation OMG 3 blobs one of each salsa sour cream and guac 😂. My kids do better , booked at 9 by ten they were cleaning around us , service over wow centre parcs WTH ??
