Idk what vegetarian is eating here and saying it’s good but £10+ for vegan chicken nuggets and cheese in a wrap is not good food or worth the price. The meat options were good but avoid if you enjoy nice tasting vegetarian meals because there wasn’t even onions in it lol

Great Mexican food, good service, great beer selection and even better service! We visited a few weeks ago and fancied Mexican food. We were not disappointed. I had the Steak Enchilada and was asked if I wanted it hot. I said yes and that's what I got! Very spicy and very good. My wife had Vegetarian Enchilada and said it was the best chicken substitute she's ever had. My son had the Pork Burrito which was among the tastiest food I've/he's ever had. It didn't stop there as when asking about the chicken substitute, mein host went into the kitchen and brought out the packages to show us. He also gave us further alternatives which he would recommend and where to get them from. Highly recommended with a great soundtrack playing too.

This place is great, very friendly staff, good selection of beers and amazing food at reasonable prices. I had the vegetarian quesedias, and they were fantastic.

WOW outstanding - where’ do I start - this place is such a hidden gem genuinely called on an off chance on the way home and I’m absolutely gob smacked the burritos we’re 20/10 the quality freshness ingredients everything incredible met the chef a real Mexican knew his stuff and so friendly too clearly cared for his job and the food he was providing, the pork burrito to die for please try this little gem if your local and for these guys some support so we don’t lose one good Mexican ! Fries nachos and burritos 🌯 class ! Well done we will be back again and again

It's been a well overdue visit to Holy Moly@ The Fox and Crown. Had a nice pint of IPA and a cider, to help the fantastic pizza go down. Loved the base and the pepperoni was quantity. We had a side dish of Jalapeños poppers which rounded the meal off. Next visit is to try the burritos 🌯.

Decent range of cask and keg ales as well as cider. Proper pub.

Had some delicious grub here today. I recommend the steak carne Asda quesadillas, served with salsa and guacamole. The chopped steak was tender, flavorful and there was plenty of oozing cheese. The skin-on fries were great too, crispy and perfectly seasoned. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu next time we're in Newark!

We wanted to meet up for a family reunion before Christmas, and as we were all coming from different parts of the country this was quite central and the reviews were very good. The outside of the building wasn't what I was expecting if I'm honest, but once inside we were welcomed by friendly staff and a very lively atmosphere. There was a huge selection of beers and ciders. The menu wasn't very extensive. However, what they served was absolutely brilliant - we had a selection of burritos, tacos, quesidillas and pizza. All were cooked to perfection and were very, very tasty. The service was excellent - we were told when ordering that there may be a delay with the food because they were busy but we didn't mind this as it gave us a chance to catch up. There's probably nothing worse when ordering food and wondering where it was - at least we were told. Great communication. All the staff were very friendly, and it was great to see it so busy. Obviously a very popular spot. I can't recommend this place highly enough - definitely worth visiting.

Great food as always. I need to try more options but the nachos are excellent and pretty much the best I've had!

It was a quiet lunchtime when we visited. The food was very nice - one star off as there was a little bit of gristle in the beef. Portion sizes were good and food was very tasty.

Recommended by a friend and so glad we came. Food was fantastic, tasty and filling. Real flavours and cooked fresh. Great prices, we will be back to try the rest of the menu.

If you like proper mexican food then this place is a must, hands down the best burritos I have eaten in the uk

Excellent burritos, amazing staff, incredible value for money, need I say more? I'm genuinely thankful that Holy Moly is back and survived the lockdowns, best food in Newark by a long way.

This is the best place for burritos for miles! Made to order right in front of you to the exact spiciness of your choosing. Guac and salsa are made fresh in house every day so are always delicious! Update since the move: Went in today to pick up a couple of burritos to take home and we were welcomed at the bar, the staff member was friendly and welcoming with absolutely no pushiness at all even when we were indecisive or when our child was getting impatient. The fox and crown was lovely inside and we immediately felt comfortable there, the selection of beers and ales was astounding too. Food arrived quickly and was HUGE . flavours exactly as I remember them and absolutely perfect. Cannot recommend this establishment enough , if my trousers would allow me to eat this every day I would. Will be coming back of an evening for drinks and sit down meal asap !

Dreadful service and food! Cold plates and cold food! Asked for no guacamole on one dinner and was told it would be on the side ( presumably in a separate little bowl) arrived with it on the plate touching the quesadillas. Absolutely no need for this. Food sent back and put back under the grill so salsa came back lukewarm too. Also saw several people sending back their Madri beer and ours was horrid too . Thankfully won’t be visiting again!!

It was a pleasure to again enjoy the food of Holy Moly, we previously enjoyed takeaways from the other venue. Food was fresh and tasty, a welcome addition to Fox and Crown, which we were pleased to see re-open late last year.We will be recomending to friends who have also missed having access to Mexican food locally

I was really excited to try Holy moly after hearing such good things, plus with a massive love of Mexican food and spending a good amount of time in Mexico. As a vegetarian I felt the menu was lacked options but I had the vegetarian quesadilla which was very basic and pricey especially when compared to the meat options which were £1.50 more. The guacamole was placed on top of lettuce to almost bulk out the portion. I also shared nachos which was small at best and came with liquid cheese rather than melted as described on the menu. Overall disappointing for the price and such hype i had heard on its return. Sorry 😢

Real fresh and tasty mexican food made by a real Mexican cooker. We had years without eat a burrito like that, it didn't taste like curry! (don't get me wrong, I like curry, buy "mexican" food in UK doesn't use to test like it should :) ) Thanks for the shot of Tequila Jonathan, we hope to come back soon.

ordered pizza`s & Quesadillas chicken. the taste was overwhelming salt! on all the meat & cheese ,so much so, it covered the taste of anything else. not sure these dishes, cooked like this originate from Mexico? more like Mansfield kebab house!

Read good reviews on Google maps about Mexican food being served in Holy Moly and decided to have a meal there in afternoon time. Imagine how I was negatively surprised at the beginning of my dining out. Arrived from Nottingham to Holy Moly at 1.30 P.M. on last Tuesday and it was closed. They should have been opened since 12.00 according to their website and according to Google maps. No information explaining why. Only sticker... Closed.

Excellent food and sizeable portions, at a good price. The service was very friendly and made the experience very enjoyable. Perfect for a cheap meal when in town and hungry.

Great authentic Mexican food made with care! Our host made us feel very welcome and the meal was great value for money. Happy to support this restaurant and will definitely be returning again!

Well first and I think last time we visited this place. It was only one person in the restaurant and he was the chef.. the menu was simple there wasnt loads of choices to choose from.. no table service, I needed to open my bottle of coke and he not cleared the table after the starter.. the food was ok, but I could cook much better food at home .. overall I payed 20£ for a bowl of nachos and a small pizza and two drinks.. waste of money I think..

What an absolute gem of a restaurant. Small and cozy but more authentic street food you couldn’t get. Extremely friendly staff who opened up for us ten minutes early for a lunch. The soft tacos were incredible took me right back to Cancoon 🌶🌶🌶😋 Highly recommend this hidden gem 🍻

We visited as a family late last Sunday and it was Outstanding!!! Friendly welcome. Great burritos, great quesadillas and the best guacamole any of us had ever had. I can't recommend this place enough.

We had booked a table for 2 people. On arrival, there wasn't a single other person there, but they didn't have the ingredients to make us a pizza each (no dough) . Really disappointing considering they knew we were coming. Went somewhere else.

Though I’d give it try whilst in the area visiting family. Love Mexican food and popped in for takeout. Soft tacos are my favourite and not many establishments do them, usually offering the crispy tacos. Ordered 3 tacos, the owner/manager gave me 4 with a good selection of salsas and sauces. Although they’d run out of pickles, that’s no biggie. They were very good and would definitely recommend. Good selection of burritos, pizzas and quesadillas. Staff are super friendly, will definitely try again

We have visited holy moly a few times and have been overwhelmed by the amazing service and standard of the restaurant. The owner is always happy to see you and makes the experience outstanding! Not only is the food delicious but also very affordable. We will be visiting here again soon!!

Stopped off on our way home to pick up something quick for dinner. I had the pork burrito and my husband had the steak. Both were absolutely delicious. Service was fast, polite and friendly. Prices were fair. Perfect fast food. Will be eating here again next time we come to Newark.

We stopped off here yesterday after reading the reviews on trip advisor and thought we would try this restaurant as my wife is Sugar-free,on having a chat to the owner and him telling us that nothing has sugar in we went ahead and ordered some food,we ordered Nachos and salsa for starters delicious,then a Naked Burrito,and a Normal Burrito absolutely delicious and 2 soft drinks,everything was perfect thank you 10 out of 10👌👍❤️

Newark is so lucky to have a PROPER Mexican place. Don't be put off by the under-stated and over-large interior of a mainly empty restaurant, you're here for the food, so get a take away.The burrito's are to die for, believe it from us who have lived in Southern California where Mexican food is like our Indian in the UK.This guy is genuine, modest and a just delivers authentic Mexican taste. It's not anything like your big chains and thank god to that!Please, please please (yes 3 times) support him because there are few people who stick their neck out and deliver the true taste of their homeland.Whatever you have from Vegan to his spicy pork, it delivers on taste. So, next time you're considering Indian, Fish n' Chips, Chinese, Thai or owt else, give Holy Moly a try and I guarantee you will love it.Happy Burrito's!

Small menu but everything was super fresh and tasty! I ate in and had the chicken quesadilla I chose to go for the hot spice. It was fabulous! It came with guacamole salsa and salad, all great flavours.

Have loved the burritos and pizzas and now I've tried the quesadillas. Why did I wait so long? Sooo tasty and served with a delicious fresh tomato salsa and guacamole. The food is great to take out but even better scoffed immediately at Holy Moly.

I am an American living in England and I have missed my Mexican food. I have tried places that advertise Mexican food and I have always been disappointed. Not with Holy Moly. I really enjoyed eating an authentic burrito. My husband found Holy Moly while we were shopping and I am so glad we stopped to eat. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely eat there the next time we are in Newark.

My friends introduced me to to this place the other day, as I’ve walked past Holy Moly many times but never had the opportunity to go in, and it did not disappoint! The guy who served us was very friendly the prices are reasonable and the food is amazing, honestly the best burrito I have ever had, the meat was really tender and I opted for extra Guacamole which tasted so fresh! Been recommending this place to all my friends and family since I visited, will definitely be back

The food here is of a quality of it's own level in Newark. It is authentic delicious and served with the most amazing service I have ever seen. When I travel and eat Mexican this is the stick I measure it by. The owner is an amazing guy with great customer service. This is a true gem of Newark and should be seen and tasted by all!

10 of us met for an 18th birthday and it was great. Both the burritos and pizzas were spot on. Nachos and garlic bread were lovely too. The guy running the place was a fantastic host.

Came with my wife and brother in law, had a pizza. Even though it’s not the signature dish. Blown away top 3 pizzas I’ve ever had. Had a burrito here before and was amazed at the quality for price. Caught up on my Spanish with the owner and was completely welcomed. Thanks again, see you soon gracias

The past few times I’ve tried to go here (most recently, at 1pm on a Thursday afternoon) the door has been locked, despite the sign indicating ‘open’. I did manage to catch the place open last week (at around 3pm) at which time the man serving looked inconvenience by my arrival. Upon arrival at the till I realised that this was clearly because they were winding down to close mid afternoon, no meat options were out and I ended up having a veggie option. I felt very unwelcome and rushed to leave throughout, and when I paid it turned out the prices had increased, despite all the signs and menu having the old price. Frankly, I’m not convinced that the service or food is worth the pound increase. I feel like he would be better served opening more often so people can actually come in and buy food, rather than charging more for the few people that make it through the door. I won’t be back.

Nice place in Newark close to the centre and great food that was reasonably priced really nice atmosphere as well with the music in the background and the charming man that served us. Like a little bit of Mexico in Newark-on-Trent will definitely be visiting again and would recommend it’s worth a try. Plus if you’re not into spicy that’s okay they have mild as well

Ate in Holy Moly one lunchtime it was right in the centre of town but no problem to park. The cafe itself was very basic but the food was delicious & great value for money.......

Finally got around to trying this place and thoroughly enjoyed the nosh! Garlic bread with cheese to share as a starter and then I had a chicken quesadillas and hubby had a chicken burrito. Nice and hot and tasty with great friendly service. The only thing I found was that it was really cold sitting in there on a frosty January day, needed to go for a coffee at Costa's to warm up! No frills place, but tasty food.

Can't say I enjoyed it. Squeezey cheese on the nachos... fresh would've been much better. Had a burrito and quesadillas. The tortillas were very doughy. We ordered medium which I thought might be fairly spicy but didn't find it that spicy.
