Authentic, tasty food with great service. We went for dinner and enjoyed the meal because it was not serving oily foods. The taste was great, but not too hot, but full of flavour, although I'm sure you can ask for more spice. atmosphere was friendly and professional. I would recommend a meal here at any time.

My husband and I booked the Baseri for Xmas day lunch. They were very busy but the service was still superb and the staff were very cheerful and pleasant! Our starter of minced lamb wonton was amazing! Looked homemade and was full of flavour. We ordered the turkey delight for main, it was nice but personally we feel it was lacking in spices. Xmas pud was our dessert which was nice, the usual Xmas pud. The restaurant was clean, tidy, well spaced out but the highlight to us were the very pleasant staff! Our bill came, was £40 short of what it should have been which we brought to their attention as they certainly deserved the full amount! Thank you all, we will be back in the New Year!

The food here was absolutely delicious, the most tastiest I've ever eaten, absolutely stunning. To be honest we could've eaten so much more, The staff were very attentive and friendly.

Beautiful, tasty and it bangs (that's a good thing). The service was exceptional and informative, the host described the history behind some of the meals, engaging with us, which helped us to appreciate the food more. The atmosphere was welcoming however we had to ask for the windows to be opened due to the heavy scent of incense. This does not detract from the amazing food that we had. Well done

The Indian and Nepalese restaurant Baseri is a secret treasure! The food is exceptionally well-prepared, and the flavours are genuine. The butter chicken was perfectly seasoned and creamy, and their momos (Nepalese dumplings) are a must-try. The service is friendly, helpful, and added a nice touch to the meal. It's a terrific place for special events as well as informal lunches because of its charming atmosphere. I heartily suggest this restaurant to anyone in search of mouthwatering Indian and Nepalese food.

We were recommended by a Nepalese friend to try this restaurnt out. This was our first Nepalese meal and we had a lovely time there. We ordered Nepalese Chai (the chef very kindly curated a vegan version with coconut milk), Aloo Tama, Mushroom Rice, Garlic Naan, Fresh Bhindi and Brinjal Bhaji. The service provided was top-notch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others :)

Oh dear, tasted like a cheap Chinese takeaway , strange taste to the food, and it was meant to be anything but Chinese. Very strange choice of seasoning. Had small bits of bone in the chilli chicken starter. Won’t go again.

We dined at Baseri yesterday evening and it was a superb experience. The ambience was warm and welcoming, the staff were lovely, attentive and kind. The food was first class and every dish was excellent. I can really recommend the chicken momos, they take a short while to prepare but well worth the wait. The sea bream was also a star. We are looking forward to returning soon and can wholeheartedly recommend Baseri to you. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing in every single way. Such a friendly welcome, so felt comfortable from the moment we walked in. It was a Saturday night and very busy, but waiting staff took orders quickly enough, with a genuine smile, and were all very lovely. The whole restaurant has a great vibe, spotlessly clean and beautiful decor/lighting. And the food - WOW!!! I literally can't remember the last time I tasted food with this depth of flavour. And the chef came over for a quick chat at the end of our meal to apologise for us not getting the full experience as it was such a busy night. There's more?! We were happy enough with everything as it was, so can't wait to return! The perfect restaurant. Adored it!

What an amazing find! Staff were all attentive and the chef was an absolute delight with stories of Nepal and fascinating information. The food was delicious, a taste sensation. We chose the Nepali specialities and found them distinct and delightful. Fascinating fusion of China and India. Beautifully presented. Plenty to eat, I came away with a doggy bag for tea tonight. Welcoming and friendly, we chatted with another table about the interesting decor (a wall representing Everest and another with visions of Nepal, it's people, flora and fauna). I wish it could be our regular Friday night treat. Unfortunately, it's two and a half hours away. Definitely our choice next time we're in Newark.

First time dining since it took over from The Everest and I can honestly say that we'll definitely be back. From the moment we walked in for a pre theatre meal we were treated very well indeed. The gentleman who took our orders couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating and came up with suggestions that suited everyone in our party (5 of us). The rest of the staff were just as attentive - just a pity we couldn't have extended our stay but time was against us. Much prefer this venue to the Ashiana

Having never eaten at Baseri in Newark-on-Trent before an excellent meal was served which was enjoyed by all. The food was presented well and was very tasty only made more enjoyable by the pleasant restaurant surroundings with its hygiene rating of 5. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and when asked to make a pot of chai (which wasn’t on the menu) were kind enough to do so. Given my experience tonight I will definitely be returning. The food and staff are both highly commendable and do the restaurant and Nepalese cuisine proud.

This is one of the best Nepalese restaurant's I have been too. The staff were very friendly and efficient without rushing us. It was difficult to decide what to order from a wonderful menu and when the food came it was so tasty. The chef came out to check everything was ok and explained about the dishes. We enquired about why vegetarian momo's weren't on the menu, he said next time we booked ask for them and he would ensure we could have them as well as a special desset. Not many places about where you'd get such peronal service.

Since, found this nepalese restaurant , me and my husband have been dining here whenever we get time. We have always been impressed by the authentic flavors and warm hospitality. Each dish was well seasoned with prefect balance of spices. Delicious food, warm ambiance and excellent service.

What a find, impromptu dinner out and happened upon Chef Dev’s restaurant Baseri. Lively with several tables despite being a Tuesday night. A warm welcoming bright modern interior with lots of authentic Buddhist and Nepalese cultural touches. After being greeted warmly, my mother & I were shown to a lovely table and within minutes had given our drinks order. Such attentive service; owner and head chef Dev boasts an extraordinary forty year culinary journey covering continents and we are lucky enough to have him here! He introduced himself, welcoming us personally. He took the opportunity to share his experience and advice on menu choices letting us know his personal recommendations that he’d prepare to our preference. The food was served promptly, nicely presented and cooked absolutely beautifully. It was so delicious, the aromats and spicing were perfectly balanced, the flavours were rich and mouthwatering. The lamb and duck were so tender and cooked to perfection. The roti and stuffed paratha were pillowy, light and delicious. Every single mouthful was sensational. The staff were very attentive, chatty and pleasant, showing a genuine interest in our visit and experience. Two very generous courses with a drink came to just over £55 for the two of us which for such good quality food, so well done was very reasonable. Chef once again came to see if we’d enjoyed our meal and thanked us for choosing Baseri. The whole team thanked us for our visit and wished us a good evening and a safe journey home. The attention to every detail was amazing, we left feeling that we’d discovered a true gem! I can’t wait to tell my friends, I will definitely be making this my regular “go-to” for dinner out….just loved it!! Thank you Dev and the team. Baseri is a spectacularly good restaurant and Dev the owner and head chef is a gentleman. From the minute we walked the staff all looked over and one stopped what they were doing to hurry and greet us. Big beaming smiles immaculate uniform and a genuine welcome. Dev took his time to welcome us and tell us the story of his business when I asked. Each dish was explained and when it came out it was brilliant food of the highest quality and beautifully presented. It was such a great ambience and experience we booked to back a few week later for my birthday. On arrival the staff remembered us, and that it was my birthday. They delivered a few birthday surprise dishes on our table and presented me with a Nepalese Kata (scarf) to keep, and took a photo with it and a Dhaka Topi (traditional cloth hat) on. The Gurka beer is beautiful and the calamari cooked in a way you won't have experienced. I never touch it normally, but it was amazing Best restaurant in the region by a mile. Get yourself booked in, you won't regret it.

We arrived at this restaurant by chance, we are so glad we did, it was the most beautifully cooked food in wonderful, immaculate surroundings served by the most attentive, well mannered, knowledgeable gentlemen. This was literally the worst Indian food I have ever had in my life. I pre-ordered to collect and I did not travel far but by the time I got it home it was cold - probably was cooked well before my collection time and left. The curry was watery and completed unseasoned and no spice at all. The onion bhajis were flat and soggy. It was so bad that I didn’t even want to finish it. Very dissatisfied and do not recommend. Edit: I had a pot noodle after which was 10/10 in comparison.

Superb food, best Asian meal I've had in years. Excellent service, friendly and efficient but unobtrusive. Good menu, plenty of choices, and good value for money. *2024 Update* Returned again, once more, a superb meal, great service (with the head chef visiting tables in person to recommend dishes). Still good value for money considering the quality of the food, service, atmosphere, and ambience. Looking forward to returning next year!

First visit with a friend and it won't be the last. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and not oily, and cooked to perfection. My friend was recommended the Malabar chicken instead of Korma and it was very tasty. The presentation was excellent, especially the dessert of delicious Kulfi ice cream. I would recommend this Indian 💯% and will definitely be going again 😊

Wowsa, we just decided to eat here at the last minute and couldn’t be more impressed. The place was immaculate, even the napkins were folded in a world class manner. We had the momo starter that I was informed you eat all in one go. That was incredible. For the main we had baseri karahi and honestly, it was out of this world. That with the garlic naan was a match made in heaven. Also, the pickle tray is made with real copper. This is a class establishment at a low price, you will NOT be disappointed!

We came for my partners birthday dinner, when we arrived they had little confettis and a birthday banner on the table it was so cute! And we had a little slice of cake and song to end the evening. Best Indian food I’ve had in the area. Fresh, aromatic and delicious. They didn’t just take our order, the manager discussed what we like and recommend dishes. He even created one especially for us. He also said we were ordering too much which was very honest (I wanted to take some home!). And the food was excellent. So all in all a very high quality experience.
