Absolutely amazing in every single way. Such a friendly welcome, so felt comfortable from the moment we walked in. It was a Saturday night and very busy, but waiting staff took orders quickly enough, with a genuine smile, and were all very lovely. The whole restaurant has a great vibe, spotlessly clean and beautiful decor/lighting. And the food - WOW!!! I literally can't remember the last time I tasted food with this depth of flavour. And the chef came over for a quick chat at the end of our meal to apologise for us not getting the full experience as it was such a busy night. There's more?! We were happy enough with everything as it was, so can't wait to return! The perfect restaurant. Adored it!

Having never eaten at Baseri in Newark-on-Trent before an excellent meal was served which was enjoyed by all. The food was presented well and was very tasty only made more enjoyable by the pleasant restaurant surroundings with its hygiene rating of 5. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and when asked to make a pot of chai (which wasn’t on the menu) were kind enough to do so. Given my experience tonight I will definitely be returning. The food and staff are both highly commendable and do the restaurant and Nepalese cuisine proud.

This is one of the best Nepalese restaurant's I have been too. The staff were very friendly and efficient without rushing us. It was difficult to decide what to order from a wonderful menu and when the food came it was so tasty. The chef came out to check everything was ok and explained about the dishes. We enquired about why vegetarian momo's weren't on the menu, he said next time we booked ask for them and he would ensure we could have them as well as a special desset. Not many places about where you'd get such peronal service.

Absolutely perfect from staff being so helpful and polite and the food was amazing the owner had time to come and chat with us and gave us some recommendations off the menu as I was undecided what I wanted and I’m glad he did it was perfect

Called in here on a night out in Newark. Wasn't expecting much other than a competent Nepalese/Indian meal but it turned out to be one of the best meals I've had since moving to Newark. The food was fresh and interesting and the service impressive. I'll be back.

The food was absolutely amazing, easily the best Nepalese/Indian food I have tasted in years. The staff were beyond helpful, polite and willing to go an extra mile with their recommendations. The decor was modern and bright and the whole establishment was exceptionally clean and tidy. After our meal the head chief came over to speak to us and was kind and informative. I can not recommend Baseri enough. It's excellent reputation is well deserved.

From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and attended to every detail with care and professionalism. The service was impeccable and the staff ensured that everything was perfect throughout the evening. The food was absolutely amazing. Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. Whether it was the starters, main courses, or desserts, each plate exceeded our expectations. The menu offers a wonderful variety, and everything we tried was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend Baseri Restaurant for any special occasion or just a delightful night out. The best place to eat & the ultimate dining experience! Fantastic food, unbeatable customer service, & super friendly atmosphere. Dev and his team always give us the finest Nepalese-Indian culinary & cultural experience. They can tweak the spices to your liking if you don't like things too spicy but want to try new dishes & exciting flavours. We have something different every time we go & are always blown away! Its our favourite place to eat now & cant wait to go back.

We have just called in here on our way back from Newark Train Station after the train was delayed.....and I am so glad we did. The staff were lovely and the food was exceptional. Dev, the head chef made us feel so welcome and was extremely passionate about the dishes he creates. He was also very knowledgeable about Nepalese/ Indian cuisine. We came for my partners birthday dinner, when we arrived they had little confettis and a birthday banner on the table it was so cute! And we had a little slice of cake and song to end the evening. The staff were excellent and we were given recommendations for some of our food and all of it was delicious. We will definitely be back, we felt like family coming in there 😊

Best Indian food I’ve had in the area. Fresh, aromatic and delicious. They didn’t just take our order, the manager discussed what we like and recommend dishes. He even created one especially for us. He also said we were ordering too much which was very honest (I wanted to take some home!). And the food was excellent. So all in all a very high quality experience.

Food was amazing, the host was also great, had a lovely time can't wait to come back here again.

Food here is fantastic, full of flavour and a lot of options to choose from. Also the staff go above and beyond! We came for a joint birthday celebration, didn’t ask for anything extra to be done but when we arrived the staff had placed a birthday banner and confetti on the table. Additionally, the bought out a traditional nepalese desert for the two birthday people and gifted them both a scarf as part of nepalese tradition. Was a truly wonderful night. Thank you to all of the staff, you’re all great.

The quality of the cooking in this Nepalese restaurant are fantastic. This was an impromptu visit on a night stay in Newark and has reignited unrest and love for Nepalese food. Add to that the hospitality and the wine were exemplary….. I really wish this recently refreshed franchise well!!!

We managed to book a table at short notice , the ambience of the restaurant was very welcoming , and the interior was excellent, both clean and comfortable. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the serving staff were attentive and helpful.The food quality , presentation and flavour were excellent. All very reasonably priced too, we enjoyed meeting the chef too,who was rightly very proud of his restaurant. We will definitley return at a future date.

Not been for a few weeks, but this visit did not disappoint at all. Slight tweaks to the menu, good, offered suggestions, very good, great value for money, all staff pleasant and attentive. If you’ve not been, you must try it soon.

Last night, we had an amazing dining experience at Baseri. The Baseri Special Karahi was bursting with flavors, and the subtle hint of lemongrass added a unique twist. What stood out was the chef’s personalised attention - he discussed everyone’s preferences at our table. I’m already eagerly anticipating our next visit!

We have visited twice now and on both occasions the food has been amazing, high quality, hot and so tasty. Staff are so friendly and welcoming and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere.

We visited Baseri last night. It was our first visit, and we were all extremely impressed with both the service and the food. Everything was freshly made, and absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spice. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Amazing food and we were advised on our choices by a the excellent head chef. Went for a hot , Chicken Lasoon Khursani it was hot, but delicious and full of flavour. Will definitely be coming back soon!

This was our first visit since the restaurant came under new management. The new owners have managed to take all the things that made the "Everest" such a lovely restaurant, including many of the friendly and helpful original staff, and most of our favorite dishes, and incorporated them into a new culinary experience. The menu itself, has been improved and enhanced. New owner Dev Banda, took the trouble to visit our table and introduce himself, and to discuss our own particular tastes. He even managed to persuade my wife, normally a " stick to the Korma" type of person, to try one of his bespoke dishes based around her own particular tastes. It's not often she clears her plate, but she did. Dev also brought us a complimentary taster dish he had created, which was delicious, and a lovely touch. All in all, I think I can safely say that the restaurant is in safe hands, the food is unbelievably good, and although it has been given an impressive makeover, it has retained its classy upmarket feel . Lovely staff, fantastic food and a bespoke curry, What's not to like ?

Terrible slop. Soggy, rice and mushy. Paratha was just like cardboard, worst Indian food I’ve had in a long time. Strong avoid.

Not been in for a while but now under new management the largest Asian restaurant in Newark beautifully decorated and ideal for parties. The food was first class and the menu was explained by the chef a nice touch. The staff are super polite and gentle people and we had a lovely evening.

First time we've visited since the change from the previous owners and it was mostly an excellent experience. Service was attentive without being intrusive and the personal attention and advice from the Head Chef was very much appreciated. Always trust the man who knows, especially when he'll be the one cooking for you 🤣 Seriously, the food was fantastic and great for my Gluten free as well! We would have given 5 stars across the board but the atmosphere was definitely negatively impacted by two guests who spent their entire meal with their 'phones ringing at maximum volume and then holding the subsequent conversations on open speaker also at maximum volume. Really annoying and intrusive. What is wrong with these people..... We'll definitely be back at the restaurant soon as the food, service and staff were fantastic.

Amazing food being an indian but very delayed service

4 of us (2 couples) went there for a dinner.. Unfortunately they were unable to serve alcohol due to a licencing issue but they had called us ahead of time to inform us. We took our own. The server tried to persuade one of us to change our starter order from Onion Bhaji (which he has been fancying since we booked). We don't know why?! The food arrived quickly and very very well presented. I had the mixed starter which was stunning! I followed it with a Chicken Tikka Masala, which was very flavourful. I can honestly say that this was the best Indian Meal that I have had in a very very long time! Other in the party weren't quite as lucky - The Chicken Biryani was bland and one of the other dishes (Fish) wasn't spiced to the level he required. Saying that it was all edible! We will certainly be paying another visit - I will have the same menu but the others will try something else.

First visit after seeing the restaurant on YouTube, and as we come to Newark a few times a year decided to give it a try. We had never experienced Nepalese food before, and received great assistance from the staff suggesting dishes that met our taste. The food was delicious, and served beautifully by the attentive staff. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant, food is exceptional, and a bit different from the usual fare.

Ordered a take away via phone. We live near another popular Indian take away, but have always preferred The Everest as was. Having eatin in the restaurant two weeks ago under the new management and name - was impressed by the food quality. My wife collected the take away and we immediately noticed that it was only warm - meaning we had to microwave the curries to warm them up. Never had to do this before. Noticed the rice didn’t look like pilau rice as well, but thought it would be fine. Unfortunately, neither dish had any taste or flavour and the rice tasted more like boiled rice than pilau. We ordered a prawn korma and a chicken korma. I have left the chicken Korma as the rice wasn’t great and the chicken tasteless and rubbery - as was the sauce. Extremely disappointed.

Had the worst experience with this restaurant and no apology or anything from the management. I came here with my husband had some food. We ordered a lamb curry when we started to eat the food. We realised the smell from the lamb. It definitely was rotting. I asked to speak to someone And told them to smell it, even they could see it was off. I used to use this restaurant all the time when the old owners was there, but I don’t know what has happened since but it’s not fit to eat from. They keep changing the name of the restaurants because of the bad reviews And keeping the same chefs there they need to do something with their hygiene of food and stop selling things that is out of date. I am disgusted that it’s still running changing. The name of the restaurant is not going to make it any better. They should do more with the staff , and with what the serving should be making sure everything is booked to standards

We had an early reservation at 1830 so the restaurant was empty, the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, the food was excellent and plentiful we had poppadoms and naan bread too. It cost £30 odd for each of us and two of the party had Gukka beer which they said was excellent.

Taste is unmatched best i have had. Will be back again thank you.

This is such a lovely restaurant. The service is amazing, the food is authentically Nepalese-Indian at reasonable prices. Our mains were Machha Malekhu (marinated fish in mustard - chef's grandma's recipe, and Jalfrezi king prawns). I requested the Machha Malekhu to be of medium heat/spiciness, so it suited me just fine. The ambience is posh yet inviting. I look forward to dine there again.

The menu is interesting, the food is great, and the service first rate. The manager was willing to give honest advice on food choices which was refreshing.

What an amazing find! We spotted this restaurant when walking around the town, having just moved back to the area and immediately wanted to pay a visit. We booked in last minute, on a Friday night, and they really could not have been more accommodating. The first thing that struck me when we walked into the restaurant was how smiley everyone was who worked there. Throughout our whole meal, we were checked on, had lovely chats with the chef, and with the restaurant owner. Then THE FOOD! OH. MY. GOODNESS. It is off the chart good. I mean REALLY good. Fresh, tasty, SO flavoursome - not one dish or part of the meal was even vaguely substandard. We have fish pakora, dumplings, calamari, three different curry dishes, naan, rice - all absolutely fantastic. You could tell it was made fresh to order, as the flavours were all so deep and rounded - so delicious. The meal was very good value too - three people, starters, mains and drinks and it was just over £80. We will definitely become regulars and are already planning a return visit soon. Really cannot recommend this place highly enough - please go and support this amazing restaurant.

We visited on Sunday 14th January to try their special Nepalese Street Food menu. Lovely evening out and amazing food. We'll definitely visit again 🙂 Update 21.03.24 When we visited the restaurant in January it was called "The Everest Inn". Since our visit it has been renamed "Baseri Nepalese and Indian Restaurant" not sure why and not sure if it's still the same owners.

Excellent restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff are friendly and diligent. They offer great suggestions on food and are always welcoming.

Great food and amazing service. Great recommendations from the proprietor. A relaxing place to have a brilliant curry. One can tell that the food had a whole lot of pride put into it. Don’t be frightened by the hot rating on the dishes, this is a place that understands the balance between heat and flavour.

Wow what a meal. Over the years I have had many good Indian meals but this was another level. The staff are wonderful and I would recommend this Baseri restaurant to anyone. If you are staying in Newark you must go.
