The staff are very friendly and really helpful. It was our dad’s birthday and they went above and beyond to make it special for him. The food was delicious and they gave really good recommendations for what food we should try.

Our first overnight stay in Newark on trent... we decided on this Indian/Nepalese restaurant for an evening meal. There are no Nepalese restaurants back home in Stoke on trent.. so we were excited to try something completely different. On entering..we were warmly greeted..shown to our table and ordered some wine while we decided what to order. We explained to the waiter how we wanted to try authentic Nepalese food.. he guided us in our choices. My husband had the chicken spicy meatballs and I had the calamari... absolutely delicious.. my calamari was not prepared in the usual way like onion rings...this was way better..cooked in delicious spices.. I highly recomend! For the main courses... my husband had the Grandma inspired spicy lamb...and I had the creamy prawns...again absolutely delicious! So many herbs and spices for your taste buds to experience. The chef visited each table for a chat...he was interested in our feedback..and recommended further dishes on a possible next visit... what a lovely and thoughtful thing to do! A dining experience we loved... and would encourage anyone to try out...especially if you want to expand your dining knowledge 😉.

This was a great place to celebrate our friend’s 50th birthday! The food was fresh and tasty, the service was superb and the atmosphere was just right! We highly recommend Baseri restaurant and will definitely be back!

Beautiful food, full of flavour, excellent portion size .. This is a family run business so attention to detail is evident. Nothing so much trouble for the staff, Chef Dev welcome you and helps you with your meal choices. We went with his recommendations and were not disappointed. Our first visit to Baseri and it well exceeded our expectations. After helpful and friendly advice from Dev the chef we choose four dishes plus rice and naan bread. It was all delicious with different flavours to the usual Indian cuisine. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening which was helped by friendly and efficient staff. Good value for money also.

We came to Newark to visit the theatre and decided to have a curry first. We booked here at 4.30 as soon as it opened and we were the first in. The place was spotless with white table cloths and it all looked very classy. The chef came over to help us choose our food and give recommendations and was very friendly and helpful. Now on to the food.....absolutely delicious and very flavoursome with good size portions. The chef even gave us a complimentary starter to try before he puts it on the main menu. All in all, a very good experience both for the quality of food and the excellent service. We all really enjoyed it and will definately be back. Highly recommended.

One of the best curries I've had and I've tried lots of restaurants. Head chef personally recommended the momo chicken dumplings which had the best flavours and himalaya chicken curry, with perfect blend of spices and rich texture. The naan perfectly soft with a slight crisp on the edges. All at a very reasonable price of £63 for poppadom, 2 starters, 2 curries, rice and naan, we were stuffed. Highly recommend!

Improvised stop on my way back from Scotland – no regrets! It was tasty and delicious. I recommend anyone traveling the highway to take a detour here to enjoy a really good meal. Plus, the village is charming!

We have been a few times lately for birthdays. The first time was the end of March. We have enjoyed our visits so much because of the food, tha atmosphere and the service. We plan to go back. This place is a hidden gem in Newark. The food was extremely good and every dish was bursting with flavor. The service was top-notch too, everyone was extremely friendly and very welcoming. As a Nepalese living in the UK, it is very hard to find a restaurant which serves authentic Nepalese cuisine and Baseri surprised me with their large selection of Nepalese food. I felt right at home from the moment we walked in. Chef Dev even gave us some complimentary pulao rice during our first visit, and they prepared jhol momo specifically as per our taste. He also prepared a potato dish for me which immediately reminded of food cooked by my mother in Nepal. The Keema Naan is top-notch! I definitely recommend checking this spot out if you're looking for a great Nepalese and Indian meal. Baseri is our new favourite restaurant in Newark and we'll be back for sure! Five stars all around.

Found this fabulous restaurant during & overnight stay in Newark & we struck gold. The venue is lovely, the food was absolutely delicious & the service excellent 👍 One of the best meals we've had, Dev the chef took the time to come to our table & talk through the menu & make recommendations based upon what we liked. Everything is competitively priced & great value, if you're in the area & like Nepalese / Indian food then you'd be mad not to try this place, you won't be disappointed!!

We had an amazing first experience at this restaurant. The chef came out to personally greet us and take our order which was a nice touch. The clay oven baked trout was so full of flavour. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the price was very reasonable. I would drive 2.5 hours just to eat here then drive all the way home again!

Our go-to takeaway! The food always arrives fast and hot. Last night, the driver seemed to get a bit lost, so we were worried it might have been sitting for a while—but nope, it arrived perfect! They communicated with us really well and made sure it got to us without any issues. We don’t get out much with a toddler, so when we want a restaurant-quality treat at home, Baseri is always our favourite!

Nice resraurant, decked out in prayer flags and prayer wheels. Fruendly abd efficient staff and really great food. I had the gorkhali chicken which was described as a hot curry and didn't disappoint in that respect. Well worth a visit.

We visited this place on our way to Skegness. It already had good reviews that's why we chose it and I'm glad we did. The service was excellent in every aspect and the food was sublime. We had poppadoms with pickles tray to start and we all loved the carrot pickle in particular as being from Brum we hadnt had it before. I had the Tandoori Khazaana and my brothers had lamb saag , Chicken karhia, rice and keema nan which were all served hot and absolutely full of flavour. I'm glad we swung into Newark that night, I can highly recommend this place. 👌

Traveling from the Midlands to Skegness, discovered this place on the way. One of the best Indian meals ever, the food was 10/10 excellent and full of flavors . The service was both efficient and friendly even had the chef come out to say hello. Well done guys best curry ever.

Booked Baseri for my family to celebrate a birthday. The resaurant is clean and inviting, with interesting Nepalese art and decorations. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was superb - well presented with rich aromatic flavour. Loved it!

First time trying Nepalese and its slightly more refined and falvoursome food to a normal curry. The Trout dish was extremely good!

The staff were very friendly, and the food full of flavour. People should be aware this is Nepalese cuisine not Indian... The flavours are still bold but subtly different. The food was really delicious, and we were well looked after too. There are your more conventional Indian dishes on the menu but we steered clear of these. The Nepalese dishes were as good as any that I have had before. Would recommend this place... Edit after a few years on from the above review Still awesome!

Incredibly tasty Nepali food! Momos (dumplings) made in authentic jhol momo style that is hard to find outside of Nepal. Also available with vegetarian filling if you call in a day ahead. They also have great tandoor paneer and naan.

My husband and I booked the Baseri for Xmas day lunch. They were very busy but the service was still superb and the staff were very cheerful and pleasant! Our starter of minced lamb wonton was amazing! Looked homemade and was full of flavour. We ordered the turkey delight for main, it was nice but personally we feel it was lacking in spices. Xmas pud was our dessert which was nice, the usual Xmas pud. The restaurant was clean, tidy, well spaced out but the highlight to us were the very pleasant staff! Our bill came, was £40 short of what it should have been which we brought to their attention as they certainly deserved the full amount! Thank you all, we will be back in the New Year!

Beautiful, tasty and it bangs (that's a good thing). The service was exceptional and informative, the host described the history behind some of the meals, engaging with us, which helped us to appreciate the food more. The atmosphere was welcoming however we had to ask for the windows to be opened due to the heavy scent of incense. This does not detract from the amazing food that we had. Well done

The Indian and Nepalese restaurant Baseri is a secret treasure! The food is exceptionally well-prepared, and the flavours are genuine. We were recommended by a Nepalese friend to try this restaurnt out. This was our first Nepalese meal and we had a lovely time there. We ordered Nepalese Chai (the chef very kindly curated a vegan version with coconut milk), Aloo Tama, Mushroom Rice, Garlic Naan, Fresh Bhindi and Brinjal Bhaji. The service provided was top-notch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others :)

Oh dear, tasted like a cheap Chinese takeaway , strange taste to the food, and it was meant to be anything but Chinese. Very strange choice of seasoning. Had small bits of bone in the chilli chicken starter. Won’t go again.
