Best Chinese takeaway in Towcester by far. Cash only, which is fine. Consistently good every time.

After not being very happy with another Chinese in Towester I tried Lee's Kitchen. I have used this Chinese takeaway twice. I am fussy when it comes to Chinese food, but so far the food has been very good. Very fresh and tasty. Polite and quick service. I will be using this Chinese from now on, and will recommend in the future. Hope it stays this way.

One of my favourite Chinese takeaways. As well as fantastic food they are super efficient and ordering is always as rewarding a process as the eating that follows!

It was my first time ordering. I thought the food was fresh and well prepared and the portion / price balance was reasonable. We have ordered quite a bit as wanted to try various different dishes and have paid £29 for 2 people but we have had so many left overs that it could have easily fed a 3rd person. The only downside was lack of seasoning on the noodle dishes and the rice. Generally I don't like too salty or too spicy but the food was very bland even for my liking. I will order again but will ask for more seasoning upfront.

Great food friendly staff and always welcoming

Really disappointed with my food tonight. I chose Lees Cottage because of the good reviews so maybe I’m missing something. Firstly, because they’re cash only and I didn’t realise this until I had already parked and arrived, and I only use Apple Pay, so didn’t have my card on me. Luckily my mother in law was with me and she had £15 on her, so I wasn’t able to get the amount of food me and my husband wanted, so we scrimped, which was already a shame. We got an egg fried rice and salt and chilli chicken and the egg fried rice was so bland, it just tasted like plain boiled rice with about 2 pieces of egg, and the chicken was sooooo hard and dry, it hurt to swallow. It’s a shame when you go out hoping to get a nice takeaway to enjoy and end up having to dig out a frozen pizza instead. Really disappointed.

Ordered chips got home they were re heated and tasted awful full of oil rang up and complained just got told I will tel the kitchen no offer to remake them! Or refund

My favourite dish is beef in black beans sauce with extra fresh chilli. Lovely aromatic. Flashback of my childhood… reminded me of my grandfather who was cook for us😁

Last month I had a nice meal here, today not so much. Saturday night, so of course a wait on food not a problem as expected, food was ready when they said it would be. Got home to eat my dinner expecting the same as last time but the whole delivery was Luke warm at a push, bearing in mind it took me less than 5 mins to get home in a car. In my order was crispy duck, the meat was lovely, but most of it was soggy skin. I also ordered extra of the hoisin sauce and got given a syrupy sweet yet chicken flavoured liquid. Don't think I'll be returning again and will take my business back to the rice bowl.

Cash only, but the food is good. What else do we need cash for nowadays? For me, it's only Chinese takeaway.

Only called here as Hin's Kitchen was closed. Other friends had recommended this place saying that it was the better takeaway of the two in Towcester, so thought I would give it a go, and compare this to the dish I always order from any Chinese - crispy chilli beef with egg fried rice. Food was cooked really quickly - so no issue there, and I was soon on my merry way! 🍖🍚 * Please keep in mind that I'm comparing one dish here and not the whole menu * Would I go back based on the dish that I ordered? No. The crispy chilli beef was really greasy/oily and every mouthful left me feeling a little more nauseous every time. The egg fried rice was dry and clumpy as though it had been cooked 3 days ago and then warmed up - it wasn't pleasant. Definitely sticking to Hin's Kitchen, and if it's closed, I'm having toast for dinner 😂

Best Chinese takeaway place. We were visiting from out of town and we wished this could be our regular takeaway. The staff were absolutely lovely - 100% recommend.

Good food. Quick service. Can be ordered prior to collection. As again this is situated on the Busy A5. Not much car parking or pull in spaces. And at the moment it is CASH only. No credit or debit cards accepted yet.

Grabbed a takeaway from here when the queue for Chan's was halfway down the car park. Had the special fried rice which was very nice , and the service was quick and friendly

Doesn’t take any type of “Card”, debit or credit so don’t waste your time! In Covid times why would you handle cash unless it’s a Tax consideration??

Old-Skool Chinese take-away, I had a beef curry which comes with rice or chips which is nice, so I had chips. Plus a chicken-fried rice which was big. Chicken was a little dry but no big bother for me. Decent for the money so gets my vote.

Massive portions and on the whole lovely food however there can sometimes be a very long wait after the time they have specified, there is a waiting area however not a seating area.

Great Chinese! Food was beautiful and curries packed full of meat. Salt and pepper prawns tried tonight for the first time and what a dish! Can't wait to go back. Good food, good service and half the price of Stony Stratford! What more could you want!?

Me and my mates talk about Lee like he is a God. Some of them live about 20 miles away but come to Lee's just for chicken fried rice. It's worth it. You'll never have a better takeaway in your life. Not even in China. Lee is my gem. Oh and sometimes they give you free prawn crackers and it's worth it just for that

Moved near Northampton and still drive to Towcester for a takeaway as most chinese's I have around to where I live are still not as good. Really good food and would highly recommend.

i asked for a special curry and chips what i got was very little meat and many many onions onions is the cheap ingredient this is not the first time you gave me onion curry

I love Lees Cottage! I've been going there for years and I've always had a very satisfying meal. The menu is extensive and the portion sizes are quality. I have always found the food to be nice and hot and the complimentary prawn crackers are always very much appreciated (I think you have to order a certain amount to qualify for this but hey). The only thing that's a bit of a pain is that there's a minimum spend you have to commit to in order to be able to pay by card without being charged. It's a bit of a pain but fair play to them because I guess not all take aways offer the option of being able to pay by card at all. There are a fair few Chinese takeaways in Towcester but this one is the one I always come back to. Dishes that are of particular interest include the Singapore noodles, Singapore fried rice, duck (or is it beef? maybe you have a choice of both, I can't remember!) with green peppers in black bean sauce. Sometimes I pop in there just to buy prawn toast and that's always a treat too. Friendly service and good food. Highly recommended :)
