Only went to coffee shop but was excellent. Victoria Sponge was best thing i have ever tasted and Hot Chocolate was excellent.

The Sunday roast is amazing. I've tried all and would say the chicken is the best (does come on the bone) The service was brilliant, the manager Chris was very polite and professional and all our needs were catered for. I come here whenever I want a roast now

First of all I would like to thank the Chefs, Chris the manager and all staff for a fantastic Sunday roast exspirence. We understand everyone's tastes are different but for us it was worth every penny spent. A while back we had said our best Sunday lunch was the Narrow Boat in Weedon but I'm afraid this has been surpassed by all at the Red Lion Kislingbury. If your looking for great service great food I'd seriously recommend The Olde Red Lion 🦁, fantastic. Heidi&Pete

We have visited this establishment a few times over the past 18 months since the new owner took over. I can honestly say we’ve never had a bad meal. Food is amazing, atmosphere amazing, good choice of Real Ale and superb Wine choice and money well spent. Don’t expect fast food service as all food is freshly prepared to order, as it should be. 100% recommend. Sunday Roast is to die for. Well done Luke and the team.

Waited ages to be served, and when we were served for drinks we were greeted by the most rudest waitress Food to ages to come and we were never asked if everything was okay Couldn’t fault the food but the service needs a lot of improvement even from the manger.

This is the second time we’ve been for Thursday steak night with our friends. The rib-eye was perfect. We’ll worth the upgrade. The dining room is nice and cosy. Much better than eating in a large pub chain restaurant.

The food was great, bar snacks are amazing and good price. However the service was not great, we had to clear our own table and put the glasses and plates on the bar as no one came to collect them. We didn’t get offered any deserts and no one came to check on how the food was. The staff are lovely but the younger members of staff don’t have enough experience and awareness of their surroundings. We felt like we were ignored as we were sat in the bottom bar, there was little to no service all night. We saw the kitchen staff smoking outside which isn’t a problem but they were stood right next to the kitchen door basically blowing the smoke inside the kitchen. One member of our party arrived later than us and he didn’t get offered any food or drink even though the staff saw he had turned up and sat with us. When we booked the table we told the pub this was for a birthday celebration. The pub messaged us 1 hour before our booking to tell us the table was set and ready however this was not the case when we turned up, the table was completely empty. We booked our table for 11 people but only had 9 chairs when we turned up and had to wait 20 minutes for the extra chairs. I feel like the staff could do with extra training when dealing with customers and their surroundings and there should be more staff on busy weekends. This is not the first time we have been to this pub and experienced this sort of service, it’s a shame as the food and pub itself is lovely.

We were a group of about 16, having pre-ordered from the Christmas menu and my wife and I were very pleasantly surprised at how professional the service was, and how good the food was. All meals brought out at the same time, names were announced to make service easier. The Morris beef was melt in the mouth.

Dinner from the Christmas menu was superb. We both had the turkey which was rolled and cooked beautifully with the stuffing; and served with a good range of vegetables (including very crispy roast potatoes!) and gravy. The starters and desserts (we had the cheesecake) were also excellent. I was delighted with the large range of gluten free options. Service from the front of house and waiting staff was very polite and friendly.

Just had our family Christmas dinner at this lovely warm and friendly place. The food was above and beyond 😋 hot and delicious well worth the money. My husband is a coeliac and they made sure everything he had was gluten free. Thank you to all the staff we will be back.

Oh wow. This pub is awesome. We have visited here many times for a drink and bar food, which is absolutely delicious. The chicken burger is to die for. The homemade chips are top level. And if you ask for cheesy chips… it’s REAL cheese. Not that fake stuff. Today we tried the roast dinner. Omg. We’ve tried many, many roasts from various pubs, but this one, was exceptional. I swear to god, try the food in here. The staff are really friendly, Chris, the manager is the perfect host. A true professional, always accommodating. Always smiles. Just lovely. Carpark at the rear. Also there’s a garden, we didn’t know about it either. Located through the bar at the lounge area. And… to make it even better. It’s dog friendly! It’s a win win. Great food. Great people. Fabulous staff. And. It’s dog friendly. No brainer. If you want a roast. You will need to book in advance. They do other theme nights too. Cheese night. Steak night.. Great visit. Food we couldn't fault - very good portions and for the price very good value for money. Only bit of feedback i would give is that the service wasn't very attentive. Understand the waitress was dealing with a difficult guest but still could've been looking after the guests who were enjoying there meals and needed more drinks/table maintenance.

Asked for a salad to replace fries and my burger bun, this was a good effort, though unfortunately the salad was a bit gritty as not properly washed, otherwise they'd have had 5 stars! The "lion burger" was tasty! Good service and you can get tea and coffee as well as the usual bar drinks.

Thursday steak night was amazing value. Usually when the food is cheaper than normal, the cuts of meat aren't that good but these rib-eyes were brilliant. These pubs need to be supported. Try them instead of the big chain pub restaurants.

so looking forward to the gluten free fish and chips, but really disappointed, it was really greasy and tasted funny, my daughters chunky chips weren't cooked in the middle, my husband was happy with his. The music was so loud we couldn't tlk to each other, so disappointed :-(

This little pub is so deceptive from the outside. Highly recommend a visit! What a lovely lunch with the family. From the lovely warm welcome to the fabulous food - we felt both looked after and left in peace to enjoy our VERY tasty pub grub. Pricing is really fair for portions and quality. Food super tasty. Came for an impromptu dinner, we were nice and early but as it's steak night it's gonna get busy. I'm vegetarian so initially was disappointed by the availability of dishes but Chris behind the bar assured me that dishes could be altered to accommodate. We chose to go for bar snacks, minestrone soup (no meat unless wanted),, with a toasted cheese and caramelised onion chutney sandwich (main menu starter) with the garlic and Parmesan chunky chips, hubby went for the Nina scotch egg and the garlic and Parmesan chunky chips. IT WAS ALL DELICIOUS. We took some of the chips home to whack in the air fryer tomorrow as they were too good to waste and the portion sizes were generous We will return for sure.

Booked at The Olde Red Lions first bottomless brunch on Saturday and it didn’t disappoint. Bookings are between 12pm and 2pm, we booked the last time at 2pm. Two full hours of unlimited drinks from a very ample selection of Prosecco , beer, gin and cocktails. The menu also included complimentary Bread and olives and a selection of burgers and sandwiches. The service was fantastic, we never had an empty glass. I’d recommend the Aperol Spritz 😊 Such good value for money at £40 each. Will definitely book again soon.

Just had a fabulous Sunday roast for 2 ,proper Sirloin of Beef perfectly cooked with loads of vegetables and of course 2 yorkies. Leah looked after us so well and no problems . Would definitely recommend this place.

Went for a roast dinner and the food is 10/10 really great portions and they even cater for gluten free so my wife gets to enjoy a gluten free Yorkshire pudding!! Went for the chicken supreme, cauliflower cheese as an extra and everything from the service to the flavour of the food was fantastic. Very reasonable price wise. Thank you. We will be back!

Excellent Sunday lunch, the place was very busy. Considering that there were 15 of us, service was good and the food was excellent. Couldn’t fault the staff or the quality of the food and the prices are very reasonable. I have now been twice for Sunday lunch, once for a group evening meal and three times for the walkers special in the last two months - they have not missed a beat on the quality for the money.

Excellent Sunday roast dinner yesterday for myself and extended family. Between us, we sampled all four of the different meats on offer and each was cooked beautifully. I can especially recommend the slow-cooked lamb but everyone was pleased with what they had ordered. The meats were accompanied by a wide range of different delicious and plentiful vegetables, plenty of gravy and home-made Yorkshire puddings, including a gluten-free Yorkshire for me which was superb. The meals were fresh and hot. The service from the waitresses was attentive without being pushy. There was a good range of wines/beers. Can recommend highly and will be returning soon.

We went for Sunday lunch lovely service very friendly but a bit disappointed in the dinner we had to pay another 5 pounds for cauliflower cheese came in a little pot ask for some more gravy that cost another 2 pounds didn’t mind but it came in a little pot not enough for all of us for what we got I am sorry but not worth the price you are charging you should give the gravy free not charge 2 pound extra I know thing are going up In price I have work in a restaurant for 17 years so I know what things cost just look at the extra things you have on you menus and see what you can do look at the Cromwell that in the same village you can have extra and do not have to pay for it

We visited as two couples, one of which lives in the village. Warm decor and attractive surroundings. We ordered burgers and the blade of beef. All four mains were thoroughly enjoyed, my only critique would be that the blade of beef just came with one very small Fondant potato, there should be more, this wasn’t enough. The beef fell off the bone though and a beautiful gravy was served with it. Burgers were excellent. We also ordered brownie for dessert which was lovely. Great wine too. The bill was reasonable and service fine. Will definitely be back to try more. Well done Luke and team.

I’ve visited the Red Lion a couple of times since its reopening and each time the service has been friendly, welcoming and timely. The food has been perfect and the prices reasonable. It is a lovely little pub for good food and drink and everyone is made to feel at home. We visited for Sunday lunch today and it was fantastic - plentiful, hot and very tasty. Would recommend to anyone.

Twice we’ve been to the restaurant. Once for Sunday lunch and second spur of the moment evening dinner. Both times the food and service has been wonderful. Food has always been cooked to perfection and the serving staff very pleasant. Hopefully in the summer there’s plenty of entertainment in the beer garden?!

If you are traveling north from London that is the place for a small break. I am from the hospitality business and with a great pleasure I want to share my todays experience in the Olde red lion. Service 5 ⭐️ Food 5 ⭐️ Atmosphere 5 star ⭐️ Manager is doing a great job - very welcoming, attentive, yet not overwhelming. Food: 1x sausage and mash, 2x fish and chips, 1xroast beef sandwich, soup, passion fruit crème brûlée (seriously tasty), brownie, pint of lovely ale, few soft drinks all together came to the price of 66£ 🤩 👍 Whole place was very tidy and very clean including toilet which not always is spot on like here in olde red lion. I can surely recommend this place to everyone 🤗 is it for a short break, pint or lunch. It is worth every penny to go couple of minutes of the M1👍 Good luck and thank you!!!

Found this place by accident today. We were pleasantly surprised by the cosy atmosphere, but most importantly we were thoroughly impressed with the food and service. Wonderful presentation of all dishes. Starters, mains and deserts were all generous and very tasty. It was clear a lot of effort and care for the customer had gone into every detail. Prices were extemely reasonable and to top it all off we were warmly welcomed by a nice gentleman who made sure we enjoyed our time there. If you’re ever in the area, make sure you pay this pub a visit! Fully recommend!

We were meeting up with a friend from the village and having read glowing reviews about the pub we thought we would try it for ourselves and so glad we did. The staff were all friendly and attentive without being overbearing, there was a constant stream of diners coming and going and the place has a great atmosphere. The food itself was absolutely faultless, the roast dinners were piping hot and the meat was tender and delicious. My husband had the Trout and he gave it 10/10. The presentation was top notch. The boys both had coffees and I had the Passion Fruit Creme Brûlée which was just lovely. All in all a great experience and we will definitely return. Thank you.

I don’t usually write reviews but we stopped here for Sunday lunch on the way to Heathrow from Derbyshire to break the journey! What a find! Literally 5 mins off the M1.The staff and service were fabulous and the food was delicious and plentiful! Bonus of having to pass the Hotel Chocolat Factory shop😉

Honestly the best Sunday roast in the area! I’ve tried many of the best rated pubs/restaurants around Northamptonshire for Sunday lunch, this was by far the best one I’ve had. Roast beef (cooked to perfection) with all the trimmings followed by the most indulgent sticky toffee pudding! Didn’t take a photo of the sticky toffee pudding because we inhaled it as soon as it hit the table. Great atmosphere, the pubs had a refurbishment and the decor is lovely. We will be back!

We booked a table of six on the 'Walkers Menu', the service and menu were great, We will definitely be back! I had sweet potato soup to start, it was served piping hot in huge bowls with big chunks of rustic bread. A meal in itself on a cold January evening! For main, I had the burger - it was excellent, quality, juicy & succulent beef served with crispy chips - exactly how a burger & chips should be! Dessert was amazing - passion fruit brulee, beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. The menu was only £20 - superb portions, quality food & beautifully presented. Dreadful Sunday lunch for three ! 14/1/2024 I can’t say one thing good about it , except only 5/10 mins from my house !!! sadly food reheated to cold ! Service awful not offered the desert menus or wine with our lunch or coffee ,had to ask for condiments WiFi wouldn’t accept my credit cards ! We couldn’t Waite to get out ..never again complete waste of hard earned money .

So good to have this great venue back open, and in such safe hands as the new owner Luke. Great meal here tonight, enjoyed my fish and chips - beautiful fish and a great tasty batter. My two guests both had the beef short rib which looked incredible (they both devoured it!!). Great food, fantastic attentive service and a fair price. Loved the new decor in restaurant too. Only negatives I would give - please use proper sauces when it comes to Mayo and ketchup, cheap sauces spoil good food!

An old pub with beautiful stone and wood work. A few steps here and there as befits the age of the building and one low beam. I had a lovely lunch with the biggest surprise being a normal looking crusty gluten free roll. They apparently get them baked specially locally - a rare treat. The food was presented beautifully and staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit. Update Dec 2022 - still as good as the GF bread is still the best I've tasted.
