Amirul Tandoori Restaurant in Charnwood

Visiting quorn so decided on a Friday night curry. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was good. Restaurant lacks a little atmosphere due to its restricted layout (long ‘thin’ building). Well priced with a very reasonable wine list.

The best Indian Restaurant in Quorn ! The menu has a good range of standard dishes as well as some specials including a favourite of mine, Handi Chicken. We have been coming here for a number of years and thanks to Rupak, we have always had a great curry and hospitality. For ref, they have Cobra and Kingfisher available.

Great Indian, all the usual favourites of an English Curry House on the menu, as well as some more unusual dishes. The service is great and the food is excellent, what more is there to say? Come regularly and will be back.

Excellent food, service and value for money. It’s a shame this restaurant was so quiet on a Friday evening- it deserves to be packed! The curries were full of flavour and the staff friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Best curry we have had for some time.

What’s not to love about this place. The staff are super friendly and the food is consistently good. A family friendly restaurant.

Food ordered over the internet, ready for collection at 18:45. Arrived at restaurant at 18:30, food didn’t actually come out until 19:04. Arrived home , realised we were missing 1 main dish. Then took another 29 minutes to actually receive the food we had asked for. The chicken tikka main we were missing was borderline cold on arrival. A huge shame as the food except for the missing dish was actually very nice. GOOD FOOD, POOR SERVICE. Will not be visiting again Unfortunately due to being late and missing food.

One of the best curry’s I’ve had also staff are amazing and very polite and professional. Would highly recommend to visit this place.

Our last 2 takeaways from this restaurant have been disappointing. We are not people who routinely complain. Several weeks ago I sent an email to the restaurant about the quality of the Dahl which was just like soup. No acknowledgement was received. Today we decided to have another takeaway . My husband mentioned our previous concern but was told - this is how we do it. The quality of the food tonight was awful overspiced and we were unable to finish. This is most disappointing and we will not be using again sadly.

Thank you Amirul for an extremely pleasant evening. The service was attentive yet relaxing. The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful and the surroundings clean, bright and welcoming. Looking forward to our next visit.

Amiruls is by far the best curry house in the area and that’s going some being close to Leicester! The food is excellent and super portion sizes so you never go hungry! Easily the best curry in Quorn. Really friendly staff, fresh food, Kingfisher on tap. The place is clean and bright. Had a really nice night there. We won’t go anywhere else now.

Another visit to this place, ordered the garlic chilli punjab was lovely and very flavourful. Really enjoyed the atmosphere in amirul and as always great staff members. This place has to be the better places ive tried around Loughborough for sure !!!

Amazing food really good curry definitely recommend. A rare visit back to Leicester from Yorkshire we stopped without booking and welcomed in. Onion bahjis to start with and popadoms were so tasty really good pickle tray lots of oinion my favourite! Curry sides rice and naan bread all delicious very glad we stopped here worth a visit great food dessert menu looked very impressive too although we were too full!

We have tried the rest and now only use the best!! Amiruls have been a big main stay for us through the lockdown and deliver great food every time. We chop and change dishes and they are always superb and offer a great curry experience. Looking forward to being able to use the restaurant after lockdown and shaking the hands of the team to say thanks for keeping the curries coming through such a difficult time.

Love the food from Amirul! Great quality and flavours, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s our favourite Indian takeaway in the area and friends who we’ve taken there for meals have always been really impressed too.

Amirul was the first Indian/Bangladeshi food we had that wasn't Wagamama (lived in areas previously that didn't have Indian food widely available), and I've found that hardly any other restaurant has met the standard Amirul has set for us. The Garlic Chili Punjab has always been a great dish from them, and while their onion bhaji I think has changed a bit over the years it is still rather good. They have also appeared to work hard at following COVID protocols. I'd wholeheartedly recommend ordering from Amirul (and have recommended them to friends).

We have used this restaurant many times before and while food is good they often get the order wrong. Tonight we ordered a meal on the web site and despite getting email confirmation the meal did not turn up. When we called to check they told us they had not received the order! Shame reliability isn’t as good as the food

So tasty every dish, thank you. We had this as a takeaway. Chicken chom chom with vegetable rice, chicken karai With pilau rice, chicken chom chom with pilau rice, keema naan and peshwari naan.

Went here on a Tuesday evening ... we had a really lovely meal... our favourite dish was the special tawali... it was delicious ... the service was great and we were impressed by the safety measures ... hope to be back soon!

Whilst we have had a number of take aways post full lockdown, we took the plunge and visited Amiruls for our first post-Covid venture out to a restaurant.I have to say this curry house never fails to deliver on quality of food and service. We felt really happy with the place and safe, which made the meal even better and enjoyable.As always the Special Twallia is a defininite recommendation.For reference, its still Kingfisher on tap and Cobra by the bottle

Best curry in the areaIt’s great that such a good quality curry house is open at these unprecedented times and allows us some “normality”.The food is always good with large portion sizes. Staff are really helpful and always accommodating in making sure the dishes are made to your specific liking. Can not recommend highly enough and is always our recommendation

Excellent village indian restaurant.... the food is just fabulous. Very authentic, full of flavour and so tasty. We had the special tawali which my 8 year old daughters LOVED! We also ordered a chicken naga which was cooked perfectly to our taste. Finally onto the service; the staff cannot do enough for you. Extremely attentive, friendly, always smiling and us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend.

I visited here a couple of years ago, I was alone that evening, a solitary spirit searching for that holy grail, the best jalfrezi in the world. Alas, I didn’t find it. This time I brought company. Girl company! Two girls to be exact, but it was all business so nothing untoward Again it was midweek and again it was very quiet, just the one couple seated when we arrived and a group of young men coming in later. Service was impeccable, a friendly greeting and a cheeky complimentary plate of mini bhajis (slightly over done) set the scene nicely for the evening ahead.The kingfisher was crisp and sharp, and the girls matched me pint for pint which both surprised and intrigued me. Poppadoms were fresh but the pickle tray needed a bit of a refresh, no lime pickle! Mains arrived, standard jalfrezi for me, Bhuna and some vegetable dish for my colleagues, pilau rice was ok, but the garlic nan looked like a pizza. Two sides, one of paneer and one of aloo gobi which were pretty indistinguishable. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the meal (the company helped!) but it was all very ‘ok’. I will return again, probably mid week, and I will probably grumble a little bit, but there are many worse curry’s out there, Oh and we got a complimentary baileys type drink at the end so that was a happy ending!

After another year of superb curries and service, I still think this is the best curry house in the area. The service is second to none and we always have a warm welcome and speedy service.The food is excellent and if you want anything tweeking or adding to a dish then all you have to do is ask, such is the expertise in the kitchen. We were visiting Woodhouse Eves and decided to go out for a curry. After checking trip advisor we opted for the Amirul and were not disappointed! We booked a table for 8 and everyone there was very much into their curries and these guys did not let us down.Drinks were delivered immediately and the poppadum's were not far behind - They gave us enough time to browse the menu before coming to take the order.The mains arrived in good time and was of a very good standard, all 8 of us were extremely happy with the quality and quantity of the food served.They even provided us with a taxi service home and a complimentary drink at the end which I thought was a nice touchHighly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting this area and we will definitely go back when we returnThanks for a great night!

Mid-week quiet night, just with a collegue, early evening so there was no atmosphere to be had. i had the chicken sashlik which was good, We both enjoyed all the food, chef also gave us some great pakora and dipping sauce to sample. Also tried the chicken/cheese/chilli naan bread, a bit like pizza!

Another visit to this place with some friends was amazing as always, rupak served us this time, his service was excellent. The food was delicious trying the garlic chilli pubjab this time. Will be back very soon

We visited this place last week as a family get together, have to say this has to be one of the best indian restaurant i visited. Food was delicious especially tawali dishes, and the service was excellent. I really recommend this place and will be going again!

Every time I visit this restaurant, the food always exceeds my expectations. The food is delicious, the chicken is always tender and not overcooked and the flavours are amazing. Personally, i love the Balti and the Patro chicken - both amazingly cooked and delicious. I have found it hard to find another restaurant that compares to their quality of food (and I eat out at Tandoori restaurants a lot). All the staff are very friendly and the food is very reasonably priced and of good portion size.

We asked if it was possible to make us a surprise menu. This was spot on what we wanted to have. The very nice guy serving us explained us afterwards that we had some dishes that were not on the menu, but the chef prepared them for us. It was very tasty and we had a very good night. Thanks!

Poor chicken madras very waterey strangely not oil but water excess nice friendly staff but poor curry for my liking be worth the extra miles going into Leicester

This restaurants is the best around the area. I recomend chicken korai with garlic rice. Great staff and a great variety of meals.

We came here looking forward to a great curry, having read great reviews and were not disappointed. Big tasty portions and friendly bright service. What more could we ask for ? A happy meal all round and very reasonably priced for us Southerners!

I couldn't see that the restaurant had any allocated parking but we were able to park pretty much right outside (it was a Sunday evening - and my wife has a disabled badge).

Amiruls is now officially my new favourite curry house in the area.

This is by far the best tandoori in Leicestershire, and for us, perhaps in the UK. The service is good, the food superb. It has lovely vibe. In all, one couldn't fine better.

Vegetable pakora very small and poor, cheese and garlic naan - suprisingly fluffy not in a good way, Paneer tikka sweet and weird.. Everything was ok, but whole experience was really poor. Fast service.

Visited this week, service was very good and portion sizes were large, unfortunately quality was not outstanding very ordinary and similar not outstanding as I had been lead to believe!

Visited on a Saturday evening with family visiting from London. Generous portions of quality curries and sides. All were delicious and well presented. Manager and wait staff were extremely friendly and courteous and made us feel very welcome. Love the touch of a complimentary drink after our meal. Went back again on Monday, they remembered us and were again very welcoming. Different food choices this time, both of which were fantastic. Would recommend the Marharaja and the chicken Saag.

Visited here mid week, and when I entered early evening I was the only person in the restaurant. No problem with that I was son enjoying a cold crisp pint of kingfisher. Waiter was very friendly and chucked a complementary poppadom in with my standard 2 pops order. Chicken pakora followed, a bit heavy on the batter but relatively tasty. Main course I went for my signature dish - chicken jalfrezi, which I tend to order the first time I visit an Indian restaurant, as it is usually a good benchmark as to the quality and authenticity of the place. This one was accompanied by chapati and pilau rice.

We booked for a cheeky mid-week date night although if we hadn’t have booked we would still have been able to get in as the place wasn’t full.

We booked late but the Amirul managed to get us in on Saturday night.

Out with friends, though it was busy the service and the standard of good was impeccable, I went for the Paneer Balti and it was me of the best not too spicy and not bland. Just right some establishments however make it too spicy therefore killing off the flavour, however the portions on offer are quite generous I unfortunately had to doggy bag the food and have it for lunch the following day. There's ample parking around the area and there's also some very nice pubs which are only a stroll away from the Amirul. Should you wish to have a night cap

Recent change of management has done nothing to diminish this place, still a firm favourite.

Decided to have a birthday party and we were looking around to find a restaurant which would fit my whole family in as we have a massive family. We found this place and it was recommended by some friends for the great service and food. Once we booked we looked around the place to organise decoration and the waiters were amazing suggesting where to put everything and the nicest way to put it, they were amazing doing more than we ever expected, I personally haven’t received such amazing service. On the night we got there and everything was perfect, from when we walked in the door our coats were taken and everyone was seated. The food was amazing, even though we had a lot of people all the food came out straight and everything was still hot, everyone loved their food. Everyone got different dishes and they were all amazing. The waiters were great when we brought the cake out everyone was joining in and everyone was so friendly. Honestly I would recommend this place for any occasion, amazing service, amazing food, amazing place overall.

I visit this restaurant on a regular basis (business trips in the area). The staff are very friendly and helpful (Yes, Armani, this includes you) and the food is good and also of a consistent quality. Given the number of times I have visited over the last year, the restaurant speaks for itself.

Dropped in here for a takeaway on Sunday evening but then decided to dine in. the restaurant was pretty quiet which I thought may reflect in the food quality and service. How wrong can you be as both were very good. We only wanted a main course so we were surprised to have been presented with some complimentary starters as they had just been freshly made. The main course of garlic chilli chicken was excellent and my wife had her usual chicken korma which was also very good.

Recently went here with a group of friends and we were all disappointed. The restaurant is ok and staff are friendly enough, but the food was very average. The starters were good but all the main dishes were poor.

Nice food first time in. Had the chicken tikka masala pilau rice and a light sweet Nah nice staff. all good, enjoy.

Delicious food with a wide variety of dishes. Good location in the centre of the village. Service is always brilliant and we always pop back because of Moe, a very welcoming and generous gentleman. Thanks to Moe and the whole team for always making us feel welcome!

We dropped in here for our monthly curry club outing. Although our choice, it was mainly selected as it was my cousins local and we haven't eaten here for a few year.No putting the title in context it was a Wednesday night and there was 18 of us. This was pre booked so you would expect them to be ready for us but regardless there were just two front of house and included with us was half a dozen other tables of diners so you might imagine the service was slow with a long wait between courses.The food though was superb and whilst it was standard curry fare. It was very tasty and a good portion size.We will return sooner I hope when there is fewer of us so we can see the machine in its more natural environment and perhaps understand why it has been my cousins local and only 1st choice for a curry for the last 15 years.

We visited Amirul on Friday 17th Feb 2017 with friends, we have been many times before and always had a lovely meal. But Friday was the best one so far, we hadn't booked a table but Moe (who was our waiter) got us one straight away. The restaurant was buzzing when we arrived and even thought they were busy, Moe couldn't do enough for us, he always greets you with a warm welcome, he knows the dishes we usual have but this time I tried a madras and it was delishous, I will be having that again. There is a good choice of dishes and even if you are not sure they will make something especially for your taste. Even though Valentine's Day had already gone he gave us ladies a beautiful rose (which is still fresh) and a small box of chocolates. If you are looking for a nice Indian with friendly service and good value for money you must give it a try. We will be back very soon.

We have been visiting this Indian restaurant for nearly 6 years now and it never fails to deliver fantastic food. One of the most amazing curries they offer is a Garlic Chilli Punjab and it's incredible. Full of flavour and a good level of spicy heat. We are always greeted with a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. It's by far the best Indian restaurant in Loughborough, do not miss out!

There is a great selection of dishes, including vegetarian. Excellent value for money, wonderful friendly service. I would recommend this little gem to everyone!

Really good food and a quality service by "Armane" really good place to have excellent food and good time with friends and family, really loved the place i will be visiting it more times now its one of my favourite restaurant.

Considering taking our custom elsewhere. Food is great but customer service is inconsistent and our experience can be poor depending on who answers the phone to take our order. Sadly the chap who sometimes takes our order is abrupt and miserable on the phone and makes us feel like we are being a pain for ordering food!! Customer service is very important to us and happy to go elsewhere should this continue. It also lets the rest of the staff down who have excellent customer service.

We have been having takeaway from this place over 5 years now but only ate in the restaurant twice. Always consistent and well cooked, great sauces and nothing is ever dry. The bombay potatoes are very good, as is the lamb shashlik - we have tried other dishes, jalfrezi, bhuna and balti and no complaints about any of it.Very reasonably priced and pleasant staff, even when busy there is a calmness and an extra minute for the customer to hold the door open etc.We can't find anywhere in north Leicestershire that beats this place and would definitely recommend to anyone all ages.

Nice staff. Moe served us, he was very accommodating. Food was good and served in a timely manner. The atmosphere was quiet but we did eat at 7pm. We will definitely be returning.

Used to use this restaurant when I was visiting Leicester and it was always good food and great value.Pappadums thin and fresh,chutneys tasty,Prawn Patia/King Prawn butterfly excellent.My Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi was ok but the chicken was over-cooked and a little chewy and my wife's Shashlick v good.Great Dhal and fluffy pilau rice.Wine average though.Service excellent and friendly.

I have been going to the restaurant since it first opened many years ago and I just cannot fault it, the food is always nice and I have never had a bad meal and the service is spot on, Mo is a really nice man and my son loves him, Mo also gives my son lots of their chocolates which he thinks is super ! We always go when it opens and even though we maybe the only ones in there for a bit the staff are always chatty, very nice people . . . .

We are regular visitors to the Amirul and always get very good service and the food has been consistently very good for many years, which is rare for many restaurants! Some favourites such as Tawli comes out sizzling hot on its own dish, chilli chicken dishes also very good, watch for the Agni dish as flaming literally to your table!

We visited with a very tall friend (6'9) and had asked on our online booking for this to be taken into account but no-one seemed to have remembered this when we arrived. Our drinks order was taken promptly but some 20 minutes later, we still hadn't received them. The staff were very apologetic and gave us some complimentary onion bhajis to apologise. The food was served promptly and was very tasty, although a couple of items were a little bit greasy. There was also a bit of a delay getting the bill but overall we had a very pleasant evening there.My husband was somewhat bemused by the doorstop was stopped you from closing the outer door to the gent's toilets - not a great deal of privacy there!

Had an awesome time at Amirul on Saturday night! Food was exceptional and staff were friendly and professional. Our waiter Armani gave us some very good suggestions on what to try from the menu. We will definitely be coming back again.

Love this place! Mo and his team are incredibly welcoming, the restaurant is clean, tidy and well presented. Service is genuinely warm but not over-bearing, rather subtle but attentive. Some of our favourite dishes include; Handi Chicken, Shimla Chicken, Garlic Chilly Punjab, all excellent and likely to be the best you'll find anywhere beyond the Belgrave Rd.Visited most recently for their wonderfully enjoyable "Halloween Theme Eve." All the guys dressed up and real effort had gone into decorating the restaurant; cobwebs, pumpkins, crackers and napkins sat alongside a suitably "scary" playlist. Took friends with us who dressed up and absolutely loved it! Great fun!

Returned to a faithful staple and again Amirul hit the right notes on food for curry enthusiasts and one who as a rule is not.A good series of dishes - the food is always of a good and tasty standard and that can be relied upon given this and prior visits.

We are fairly regular here, it's local to us but the food is always good and that's why we use Amirul both for eat in and take away meals. Service is always first class and prices are very reasonable. Never had anything to complain about at all.

Visited for my birthday on Monday, the staff were friendly and welcoming the front of house guy called Mo couldn't have made us feel more comfortable. The portions were just right, both courses were tasty, they happily added different spices to my meal and explained what certain things were. All in all a 5* meal!Will be returning

My biryani was just right. No need for many courses or many sides as the helpings are generous. The service is friendly and efficient. Not licensed, but you can take in drinks.
