INCREDIBLE, we asked the waiter to order us what he thought was the best and most delicious (he was vegetarian) and I had the Chilli Paneer, OH MY GOD, amazing!! There is a buzz about the place, more seen to town establishments not village pubs! But it was so welcoming, everyone that worked there was clearly part of an incredible team that want to achieve! The conversation with the waiting staff made me feel like one of the family, the guys at the bar although really busy had a smile and small talk for everyone. I really didn’t want to share this because I want the place to myself, but I just had too. I’m sure there will come a time when it’s difficult to get a table but at the minute they can accommodate you virtually any day (or make room) it’s a simple menu but a very well thought out one, I have been to the restaurant a few times now so have had a bit of experience with a selection of dishes, the Chilli Paneer was a delight! A lovely heat yet creamy dish the spices within the dish are a match made in heaven. The chicken Shaslick comes in sizzling, the smell is to die for and the meat very well spiced and melt in the mouth aspect that you’d expect! Your never rushed and although it’s lively it can also be quite romantic if you get the right table, there is a back room which seats more intimate tables (and your away from the lively restaurant) I would highly recommend The Wheel Indian Restaurant to absolutely anyone. (Never had a takeaway or ordered online as of yet and I will look forward to reviewing it for you all) SLACKY BOSH

Great spot and love that they are offering Indian food too. Love that they offer the same food as the 3 Kilns, and literally the same desi flavours too. Chops, wings and daal makhani were my faves and their cheesecake was also spot on. Cant wait to revisit.

The food was lovely & it would have been 5 stars overall if the cask ale had been on.

So, Another honest review. I have not reviewed for a while as I had nothing positive to say about the last few restaurants I visited in Leicester. Today we went to The Wheel. On entering we were greeted very politely and shown to are table. We had complimentary poppadoms and pickles. The poppadoms was fresh and yes you can tell. Pickle were tasty and the chili pickle was different and nice, not from a bottle. We discussed how we like our food and it was served just how we ordered it. My curry was the closest to home cooking that I have tasted in a very long time. Sorry I had a vegetarian starter as well and the mushrooms were, not just tasty but also pleasantly different. I can't explain the texture but I would definitely order it again. Overall we had a great evening. We did not feel rushed in any way and all the staff were polite. I had to try the food Frist and then had no hesitation in booking a table on Sunday for the family. Sunday they do a buffet, both roast chicken with different veg and also Indian dishes which will keep all of us happy. I understand it is a buffet and can't be tailored to my taste but I was assured that I wouldn't be disappointed. 5 stars all the way. Definitely worth visiting

Delicious food, great hospitality, cosy venue. This place ticked all the boxes for a great night out. The staff were amazing, polite and on the ball. I really enjoyed the chilli mushrooms... looking forward to my next visit.

Visited here for a meal with my partner whilst staying in the area, staff were friendly and very accommodating, we hadn't booked but they found us a table in the bar and then later moved us to a quieter area in the restaurant which was much appreciated. Food was really great the best sag aloo I have ever had. It was absolutely amazing everything tasted fresh and decent portions. Would recommend :)

Under new management for a few months now. Sister restaurant to the three kilns. Food very good indeed. Bar has had teething problems but all fixed now after investment in cellar hardware. Good to see the place getting a major refresh, highly recommended. Still a proper pub live sport inc sky available.

I chose the wheel because it had the best reviews out of all the Indians in the area. However I cannot see why. Both our curries were watered down and tasteless. Really disappointed, what a waste of money.

We love the food here and all of the staff are so friendly, especially the barman…. He’s always on the ball and our drinks never run out (nor does his 😂)…. The restaurant manager is always really welcoming and always helps us choose our dish if we’re struggling. Love it here!

Small place, was expecting a separate room. The food was really nice, however the portions could have been a little bigger. Our meal was spoiled rather by the barman who was gradually getting more drunk throughout the night and kept coming over to talk rubbish. Probably wouldn’t visit again.

Amazing food. We had takeaway - there was an item missing & was brought to us within 5 mins of food delivered. Chilli paneer is 10/10.

A combined English pub and Indian restaurant. What a great idea. You could reasonably hope for great Indian food and fine English ale. The food was pretty good but the only hand pulled ale was terrible. William Bass Premium Ale - about the worst hand pulled ale I have ever had. If this is premium I dread to think what the ordinary stuff is like. Whoever buys the ale for the pub needs a bit of a rethink. I only drank half of it and opted for Kingfisher to wash away the taste. This have been a fantastic evening of food and drink bit bizarrely spoiled. How can the owner of a pub not have any understanding of ale? Oh well. This could have been a great discovery but who wants to go to a pub to drink muck?

Both my wife and I conclude that this was, without doubt, the worst Indian we have ever had. The jalfrezi lacked any flavour or heat, was floating in oil and only half filled the container. The shashlik wasn’t much better, lacked flavour and quantity. The naan was ok albeit cold, on the upside the popadoms were pretty good.

2 pointers - don’t put a plain naan in with Garlic n Cheese naan (they have plain for a reason) & put curry in foil containers like the rice not plastic so it can be warmed up if needed in the oven. 😃

takeaway was poor. The chicken was tough and stringy, tikka masala sauce was bland, Prawn shashlick was bright red and tasted like it looked, rubbish.

Very friendly staff, lovely food and very relaxed atmosphere. We didn't feel hurried at all and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Would definitely visit again. If you need food allergen information the staff are knowledgeable and discreet.

Went for a curry and a pint with my family and had a wonderful time. The staff are very kind and accommodating and the service was exceptional. The food was excellent, the onion bhaji were really nice. The madras was hot and the meal was worth the money. Thanks for a fun night.

Tiny portion size. Thought we had the wrong order. 6 pieces small of paneer for £8.75! Rice containers not full and minimal meat/veg content in our tubs of sauce! Not recommended!

The flavours are authentic and the sauces beyond anything I have had before as beautiful in their complement of the authentic herbs and spices. A really nice touch with the free mystery holiday draw with great locations from Wales to the Bahamas.

Amazing Indian restraunt. Been there many times. Highly recommend to others

It is well priced for a high quality meal and the service is great too. The chefs are very talented and provide a well balanced curry with a huge amount of authentic flavour. I like my meal very hot and order it very hot without any fuss and the sauce is still high quality just with added spice for a hotter curry. I recommend all who read this do give this restaurant a try as I have visited many times and have a regular takeaway delivery and the quality is both high and consistent.

When we ordered it said it would arrive between 7.15 and 7.35, which was well over an hour after we had ordered, which ok they may be busy! But the food didn’t turn up till well after 8! And when it did the food was disgusting and cold, the worst curry we have ever had , the sauces were all very watery with no flavour, very small portions!!! Will never order from there again!!!

Been here a couple of times a few years ago ( BC) and thought it was ok, didnt fancy going out so we tried ordering "Just eat" for the first time, very easy and arrived at our place 5 miles away bang on time, and once again a superb meal, thank you

I ordered a main, a side, rice, naan and chips! I’m so glad I ordered the side, the main ( chicken jalfrezi) was comparable to water in consistency. As for flavour, there wasn’t much.. probably because there was a lack of any form of texture but it wasn’t pleasant. That being said, delivery was good. Wasn’t blown away, won’t order again

After driving past The Wheel for the best part of 8 years daily, we decided to give it ago. From the warm and friendly welcome from the chap behind the bar to the service from the waiting staff and the pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, I can safely say we had a great time. We had starters and mains which were all superb. I would recommend ordering from the cheifs specials if you're feeling adventurous, trust me you can't go wrong. So thank you The Wheel Inn we will be back again soon.

Did not get much at all, normally have left overs but not here. Had a prawn sizzler, didn't know what to expect but was literally 6 prawns in a tub of sauce. Was tasty though just portion sizes.

Good portions just the right size, the driver forgot my popadoms i didn’t realise until dishing up but left it didn’t complain and in 15-20mins he was back at the window and brought them and apologised. We had meal from wheel inn had takeaway on recommendation ,first chicken shashlik tasted of bbq sauce ,second my chicken bhuna tasted of coconut never had that In life and to top it of my husband's chicken karahi as you can see is swimming in grease he had to pick meat out . Restaurant did offer to sort on next order but going on this meal I would not risk it

Best curry around this area by a mile! So consistent I’ve tried loads of dishes they’ve all been brilliant and full of flavour, staff very helpful and friendly, can’t recommend this enough!

The Wheel has always been a favourite of mine. Very friendly atmosphere when allowed to be open and excellent delivery Sirvice at other times. Strongly recommend the Wheel mixed Tawa and my adorable wife loves the chicken Makani. Nann breads are excellent.

Beautiful food and great service once again

Me and my partner came here with some family on a weekday and really enjoyed our time/meals here. We all had something different and every dish was lovely. We love The Wheel as its one of our locals and the service is really good too.
