Everest Lounge in Charnwood

I ate at the Everest Lounge with a friend fir a long overdue catch up. The service and food was excellent with the very helpful waitress recommending dishes for us to try. I would happily return here again!

What a welcome surprise, not just another Indian Restaurant although you will find the regular dishes on the menu but we wanted to try some Nepalese dishes and started with the Pork Momo, best described as a dumpling with an amazing dipping sauce. This was followed by a Chicken Gurkhali and a Jomsom Rara Lamb both unique flavours and highly recommended. The food was accompanied with a Mango Lassi and finished off with a memorable Nepalese tea. The eating experience was complimented by our incredible waitress who couldn’t have been more helpful. Thanks to all the staff for a great night.

Food took far too long and the food was average compared to other similar places we’ve eaten as a family. Takeaway orders prioritised over done in and this was frustrating to see.

We enjoyed it. Unlike other Indian restaurants, they serve curry in a bowl you eat from rather than a small dish plus main plate. Portions were good. Nepalese cuisine but they also do the usual Indian curries.

This is the first I have come across porkbelly curry which was fantastic. I have been to many restaurants it was the first so had to try n&not disappointed. Service was excellent with happy smiling faces. Attending the table constantly overall great dining. 👍

The best curry I've had in Loughborough I will definitely be going there again and would definitely recommend to others for their incredible service and quality of food

Tried this place by chance but we were so pleased we did. The food was amazing - tasty, spicy, not overly oily - and beautifully presented. Service was excellent. It is a shame we do not live locally because I’d return like a shot! Thoroughly recommended!

The service the minute you walk through the door is amazing, always made to feel so welcome. The food is just amazing and so much taste. The prices are really good too, honestly wouldn't entertain anywhere else now.

Food and service was really good. Just one thing, that although the food was tasty but was very spicy (Hot) for me and my kid. I would definitely recommend for Indian food.

The tables are on the small side and fairly close together which can result in difficulty talking or hearing each other especially if there's a party group in. The service was a little below expectation but I think the waitress was new.

Came here a couple of times with family, and overall it has been decent quality for the price. For a #1 rated restaurant (on trip advisor) it wasn't mind-blowing, but certainly tasty and well presented meals for the fairly reasonable price. Nice atmosphere and decorations, and staff seem friendly. Would highly recommend the momos!

Food was sensational, service was equally as good. My waitresses tulasa was very kind and made sure everything was well with my food. The only reason I give 2 stars for atmosphere is because of the pretentious idiots that was in. Other than that, absolutely fantastic experience and I will be back!

We visited here on Sat 2.3.24 with our family and left disappointed. Service was incredibly slow - the tables around us were all complaining about it too, with some having waiting over an hour to be served. When our drinks finally arrived they were all wrong - we ordered a glass of wine (amongst other drinks) and they brought 2 bottles - which we didn't order. When the food arrived it was very salty and lacked any spice/heat we expect from a curry. We tried ordering a second round of drinks twice, neither of which came, so half an hour later ended up walking to the bar and ordering for a third time and then insisting I wait for them to be made up before taking them back to our table. Our dirty plates sat on our table for over 25 minutes once we had finished our dinner, so ended up walking back to the bar to ask for the bill and waiting for it to be printed out. When it arrived it was wrong with several items on it we didn't order (it even had the 2 bottles of wine on it we hadn't ordered). Seemed like too few staff to service their tables and poor management of the few that were there. I don't like leaving poor reviews, but this was a really disappointing experience - we won't be returning.

Had a delivery off just eat on 02/03 first time trying the food had non veg meal for 2. Food was cold. Onion bhaji was so salty couldn't get past the 1st bite. Such a shame

I really hate that I have to give a bad review. Me and my partner visited a few weeks ago on a Saturday and the service was great and the food was lovely. However two weeks later we came again with family on a Saturday and it was a very bad night for the staff and service. It was very busy with not enough staff to service all tables. Despite booking a table for 8pm we didn’t get seated until 8:30pm, with a couple who arrived after us being seated before us. Then when it came to service another couple who arrived after us received pompadoms before we did. It took another 20 mins for us to get pompadoms and when it came to mains they gave us the wrong dishes and sides. Finally when the bill arrived there were dishes on the bill we hadn’t ordered and drinks we hadn’t ordered. At least the staff recognised the issues that evening and took off the wrong items from the bill and gave a 20% discount after we asked for it. Overall we were there for three hours and we were not the only table who had issues with food and drinks. A disappointing evening and I’m not sure we will visit again which is a shame because the food is really nice.

I think we must have hit it on a bad night. The monk fish starter was undercooked (as also mentioned in other reviews) and also the breads were also undercooked and raw in places. The tandoori chicken was lovely though and were very big pieces. Service was wonderful and couldn’t do enough, including offering some vouchers to make up for the poor food. Lots of street parking available and a quiet location out of town but still accessible for the centre. Undecided to be honest as to whether I would recommend.

The food is delicious, especially the onion bhaji & dip sauces. The staff is very nice & friendly. The service is the best.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience this evening. The monk fish dish that I ordered was served cold/undercooked. The fish was visibly translucent, but the chef's response was 'this is how monk fish comes', which is nonsense as undercooked fish is unsafe to eat. When I went to pay the bill, there was no mention of the issue with the food, and the bill was not amended.

Went in because my partner went the week before with work and said I'd like it. Service was great even though there were only 2 ladies front of house. Great cocktails, and fantastic food. Managed to try things I've never had before. Generous portions and we had loads left which they put in takeaway trays for us. Will definitely go back

Friendly staff with good service. Food is very good and something different to the "normal" curry. It was extremely quiet when I visited which is a shame to see but all in a good experience.

I'm new to Loughborough and this was my first time trying this place (my partners been before) and I honestly can't rate it enough. The service was excellent, staff were friendly and inviting,the restaurant was spotlessly clean, nice varied menu, good prices and the food was the best Indian food I've had. Good portion sizes and so much taste, could honestly not say one bad thing it was excellent. Definitely my favourite restaurant.

Been wanting to try it for a while. Everything was lovely apart from 3 pieces of something in my fish dish which I couldn't eat. Not sure what it was. Like hard rubber. Mensioned to the waitress she said she would speak to the chef but never came back to me. The rest was nice. The wife's beef dish was lovely

what a delightful restaurant and what a find! You can see that Chef takes great pride in his/her curries as they are prepared with that extra flourish that makes it so tasty and so magical. Will definitely be coming here again! So far this is rated as number 1 on my list of Curry places to go to and this should not be taken lightly as I have been to many! Even my toy dog enjoyed the calm atmosphere, thank you.

Friday night dinner at the Everest Lounge while visiting Loughborough. Really enjoyed the service and food. Very extensive menu and good portion sizes. Pictured is Chicken Lababdar and Lamb Pardesi, coconut and mango rice with Mumbai aloo. Would recommend for an evening meal.

Great food and really nice place

I am short of words to describe our great experience here. I wonder why Google search doesn't show it at top despite its highest rating. Not only the quality of food, the cleanliness, environment, hospitality - everything gave us a very warming experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and I'll definitely visit it again.

Great selection of Nepalese and Indian food. Nicely presented and not drowning in oil etc. Great value as well most main dishes we're under £13.00.

Popped in with not much time to eat , and these guys put on a brilliant service, getting our food very quickly and helping us on the way. The meal was delicious and great value as well. Five stars!

Had a great night last night at the Everest lounge. The starters were exquisite, light and tasty. The mains were filling, hospitality from Bikal and his team was excellent. Prices reasonable. Overall five stars. A great night, I highly recommend a visit.

Fantastic onion bhaji, crispy and tasty. He had Jomsom Rara Lamb and loved it, good quality meat and great flavours and heat. I had a Dhansak, perfection !! Lovely paratha and saag aloo to share. All great quality, great flavours, good portion size. Service was spot on.

This is the best meal I have had in a long time. So tasty and fresh. This restaurant offers some dishes that I have never seen before and they are definitely worth being adventurous with. You have to try the Momos they are divine.

AMAZING food & the staff go above & beyond to make the whole experience memorable. We try & eat here as much as possible & try all the different dishes . Recently are here with friends. While we had a little difficulty ordering our food when it arrived it was delicious. There’s plenty of options so should be enough for everyone. The mains don’t come with rice which has to be ordered separately which bumped up the final bill a bit. Each of us had a starter, main and drink and it was over £40 each so on the dearer side for Loughborough. We would consider eating here again though.

Have previously eaten in and would have rated 5 stars. This review is for a takeaway which was very disappointing, arriving cold, with some items not tasting fresh. Would not order takeaway again.

Nah. Who voted this place the best in Loughborough? Freshers? Nice people - the end. awful cocktail food served on cold plates, no food warmers so hurry tfu or eat stone cold food. we ordered the chicken himalayan dumplings - Julia actually said - don't bring pork, I don't want pork. We got pork himalayan dumplings. The rest was very average - without doubt there is better in several places locally. Nice people. The end.

A little gem 👌🏼 We thought we'd give the Everest Lounge a go after a couple of drinks in the White Hart.. The staff are extremely helpful, accommodating and can't do enough to make your evening as good as possible. The food was excellent, fresh and tasty. I had the lamb and my other half had paneer which were perfectly cooked. Highly recommend giving this place a try 👍🏻

We have just had a wonderful 40th anniversary meal here and everything was excellent. Firstly the staff were welcoming to us all including our children who were treated with extra special care. The food was great quality and plentiful. The menu choice was superb and very varied. The final bonus was it was reasonably priced. We look forward to our next time. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We had a really great evening last weekend at the Everest Lounge. The food was fantastic, and the service could not have been better. The team went to a lot of trouble with decorations and even a surprise cake to give my husband a lovely birthday meal. We were a large group and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Everest Lounge for a perfect evening- would thoroughly recommend this venue.

My colleague and I chose this restaurant from a list of many restaurants in Loughborough. We read previous reviews with the only negatives being lack of draught lager and not answering the phone. We arrived on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't busy at all. There was plenty of beer on draught and we were looked after from the start. The staff were lovely and the food was very tasty. The poppadoms were crisp and not chewy. We were even treated to a complementary dish to try which was delicious. The meal finished off with a hot wipe and complimentary chocolate. The price was very reasonable too. It's a restaurant I would deffinately go back to. From a very happy customer. 😊

Had another takeaway this evening - and brilliant as always. Really is the best Indian (and Nepalese / Tibetan) restaurant in the area. The Owner is always very welcoming and service great. Deliveries can be a bit late though - but it’s worth it!!

As foodies my girlfriend and I tried this place out for valentines and was amazed. By far the best restaurant we have been to in the local area!! Amazing service, with a rose and valentines card on the table as well as romantic music in the background. Food was amazing with a massive menu and lots to choose from, everything tasted like heaven. To top it off we was treated with free dessert and Prosecco at the end. 10/10 this is not a place to miss out on.

Wow. We ordered from Everest Lounge for the first time this evening and thought we'd try the non-veg set menu. The food was incredible, the bhaji and tikka masala were so much better than the other local Indians. We will be ordering from here again. You must give it a try.

I was visiting the area with a couple of colleagues. Popped in to this place as the menu looked good. I had the King Prawns in the coconut curry sauce. The prawns were fresh and authentic with just the right bite. Rice and sides were equally good. Real authentic flavours. For a recent start up restaurant this place has real potential. Give it a go.

Great food and hospitality, varied and extensive menu with a good choice of signature dishes from Nepal and Tibet.

Had a takeaway from here last night. Ordered 9 dishes and each one had its own unique taste, clean and delicious. The staff, as usual, very helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend and we will be back again soon.

I don’t know how this place doesn’t have many reviews because we always go by reviews and after trying almost every Indian takeaway in Loughborough, this one takes the top spot! Delicious flavours, tasty and fresh. The noodles are a must try, sensational! Quick delivery too. The only thing I’d say is the portions were smaller than elsewhere considering the price, but still worth it. Will be ordering again 😊

When we walked in there was a Cobra pump on the bar and a fridge full of wine, when we asked for the Cobra, they said that they didn't have an alcohol license so we ordered water instead. Unfortunately the service was atrocious, it was an hour before we got our starters and then another hour before we got the mains. My main came out ten minutes after the others and the rice was fairly cold by that time. Finally after two and a half hours we asked for the bill, but we didn't get it, we stood in front of the bar and they then finally gave us the bill, they charged us for a naan bread that we didn't order but we were close to missing our last train home so we had to let it slide. We never did get the water!

10/10 would come again for sure!
