A very classy nice restaurant. A warm welcoming, followed by an excellent service, with a lot of attention to details on order to please you. The service always with a smile and very patient with us. Conclusion, if you have the opportunity to go eat there, do not hesitate !

Saffron Ivy has always been our favourite local restaurant. So we were very keen to return and experience the atmosphere under a new management. Though apprehensive at first, it took seconds for us to notice the changes under the new management. The welcome was friendly and very polite, food was out in record time and above all the quality and taste was simply superb. I encourage anyone and everyone to go and have a taste. Very good value for money and a hidden gem worth exploring

Very clean and very tasty food …

I had a meal deal takeaway for £9.99, but I was disappointed. The chicken Tikka only had three small pieces, and the chicken curry had barely any chicken in it, just lots of sauce. The portions of naan and rice were also small. Make sure to double-check your order before you take it.

such a shame this used to be a great place producing great food but now the customer service is terrible & the food is very average. we ordered a takeway on 09/03/2024 and were told 45mins to collect, on arrival we were told it wasn't quite ready just a few mins more, another 45mins later & 3 requests for my money back we finally got our food & the worse of it was that the food wasn't even worth waiting for.

average food quality, very poor service. I ordered online as the young girl who answers the phone can never understand what I am asking for, the order was accepted at 7.20pm & 45mins pick up stated on confirmation, at 8.45pm we finally got our food which was too late to enjoy! 3 times I asked for my money back and was refused by saying just 2 mins more...... will be very reluctant to use them again. its a shame really because the original owners cooked spectacular food and the service was far better.

First experience of Saffron Ivy, the food was amazing. Fresh, delicious and best naan bread I’ve ever had. We haven’t stopped thinking about the food since. Four of us went all had different and everyone agreed best curry we’ve had in a long time. Will be back 👍 and reasonably priced too

As the first table for service of the evening, the restaurant was quiet. My friend and I are vegetarian. We were shown the menu, and our options by the friendly and helpful waitress. I chose Palak Paneer. I went for a hot version. When it came it did not disappoint. It was beautifully flavoured with the right amount of kick. The Peshwari Naan was light and caramelised on top. Overall a lovely meal which was very reasonably priced. Good food, good service, good value. Would recommend.

I attended tonight with My family Waiting and service was slow but the lady did say she was new Food portions were good too and very tasty- not oily so we were very impressed Coming back home and I've not felt well at all and my stomach is in absolute agony at present Based on the quality and portions of food I would have returned but with the pain we are experiencing it's making me reconsider my decision of returning to Saffron Ivy

Had a fabulous meal out here last night. Food was outstandingly good and tasty. Reasonably priced and was served promptly . Service was excellent too. Certainly recommend this restaurant.

Very disappointed. Everytime I use saffron ivy via uber eats I have been let down! They cancel order last minute after having waited for 1 hour and this has happened twice not once. When I rang them to let them know that I’ve been waiting for an hour for my food only for you to cancel last minute, all I get is ‘sorry’. So disappointed that both my husband have decided we will never get food from this place. Food may be good but the service is a let down.

Unforgettable Amazing The Top Most

After a recommendation, we dropped in for our monthly curry night and weren’t disappointed. The staff were really attentive and helpful in suggesting dishes and making sure the evening ran smoothly. The food was really good, tasty and was just as expected from your average curry house. We were the only table in (hence low atmosphere score) but it was a Thursday on a school holiday night.

So we live locally to Syston and as anybody who lives locally would know there are many many Indian restaurants for such a small town. Over the years we have tried them all and found Safron Ivy to be the best by far, amazing service, lovelly food and curry awards certificates strewn all over the bar. Was a little dismayed when we saw the menu had changed, a little more dismayed when we went in to order takeaway and all the awards certificates are gone. Change of ownership has come with change of everything, half the order wrong, drove back and they corrected. Get home again and eat the food, I’ve never seen anything like it, I had a Chicken Jalfrezi, now I might not be an expert on Indian cuisine but I’ve never seen a green Jalfrezi before, or to that point a curry that’s says it’s creamy that looks like grass that’s come from a cows backside, I scraped the sauce off the meat and the meat is green. Destroyed a very good restaurant, I would recommend going elsewhere. If anybody knows where the previous owners have moved to please let me know so I can get another delicious meal, but with the new owners here I’d would steer well clear. Worst curry I’ve ever seen, tasted or heard of.

Had a take away yesterday. Was the worst meal we’ve ever had from an Indian. The vegetable korma was so spicy with tiny bits of veg from what appeared out of a tin floating around in it. Three big undercooked super dry potato. There was no cream to it and had lots of black bits floating in it too. My husband has a dish that tasted just like tomato soup and my sisters dish blew her head off and again looked like dog food. The keema Nan was doughy and undercooked the rich was cold; overall we were super disappointed. We were told we’d have a call back about a refund in five minutes and no one called. So my husband drove all the food-after we put it all back into the containers- back down to them for a refund when he got there the manager was stood at the bar chatting and said oh I was just going call you. (25 minutes later) and also after I was told on the phone the manager wasn’t even in that evening. Poor customer service terrible food. Will not be using them again.

Had a takeaway last night, it was good. Crispy bhajia scored 5/5. Raita was good too and so as Veg Kolhapuri. Biryani wasn’t the best but it was tasty, we have had a some amazing biryanis so this didn’t meet the expectation. I have tried other things previously and it’s always delicious.

Such a shame. This place used to do amazing food. It always tested freshly cooked, you could see the herbs and spices they used in the food. I went here yesterday (5 Jul 23) and discovered it had changed management. When I arrived to pick up my food, the waiter took 10 minutes to finish talking to a table, but he assured me the food was great. Sadly the food is no longer special here. It is fine, the food was OK, but I used to drive 20 miles to pick up food from the old Saffron Ivy because the food was so good. Now it is just another average Indian restaurant.

We used to have takeaway from here all the time, was the best in the area for sure. Ordered for collection today, noticed it was under new management. When I say all the food was inedible, I mean we literally put the lot in the bin. And the best part was they’ve put the prices up! We will not be returning.

Very happy with the service and food we had! Could not fault the staff at all, quick service, polite and attentive! Very reasonably priced as well.

I would not hesitate to revisit for a takeaway but won't book a table again. The restaurant was by no means busy and unfortunately the service was slow and inattentive, when the food eventually arrived the plates were cold and with no table heaters to keep the sauces hot my food soon became cold which was a crying shame as the food ( whilst hot) was really nice.

Took my mum to Saffron Ivy for her 80th birthday on 10/03/2023 at her request as she has not been to an Indian restaurant for some time. She absolutely loved the food & the friendly atmosphere. We use them on a regular basis for takeaways and have to say that the food is by far the best in Syston (and we have a few) the only problem was that it was extremely noisey but that was not the fault of the restaurant, it is a small place and can soon get full hence the noise so need to be mindful of that if booking a large party.

Small restaurant, limited seating.. so book in advance. Friendly service, I had the lamb saag, it was delish. Plenty of meat. Partner had garlic chilli chicken. And he always eats it all. Love the food here, although it is a limited palate. Decently priced. Defo worth a visit 👍

I blame myself. I should have read the recent reviews before booking it for my daughter’s birthday meal. We were a party of eight (including three children) but from start to finish there were a catalogue of errors and absurdity. 1. Unlike previous complainents we were NEVER told this hotel has a 2 hour eating window despite booking in advance. So imagine our surprise when, 2 hours in, just as we were starting to receive starters, the female waiter / manager started to blame us for ‘overstaying’. 2. Like previous reviews we were also accused of ‘taking the piss’ by a female waiter / manager in front of our children. When one of her much more polite colleagues asked her to calm down she threw something (I think it was a dirty fork) across the floor and scared our youngest. 3. The food came to us over or under done. Chicken was red raw in places but lamb was so overdone we couldn’t chew it. The polite male waiter kindly offered to replace but the kitchen was taking too long so we requested a refund instead which prompted the tantrum from the waitress. 4. One of the managers (I think?) apologised. Which was fine. But it meant that despite spending nearly 4 hours and a large amount of money at a restaurant we still had to go and take the kids to KFC for something to eat. This is our local as we live nearby. I dine here often alone and with family as my wife and I are both doctors at Loughborough Hospital & don’t always have time to cook. They seem to handle small numbers of people just fine but I cannot believe how badly they managed our group. This restaurant just isn’t set up for family groups larger than 4. It is, strangely enough, an Indian restaurant geared for English style nuclear families or very small groups and so if you have a bigger party I’d suggest you go elsewhere.

Disgusting Staff Behaviour. Large party of 14 with children. We booked our table at 6.30. At around 7.15 whilst we were waiting for our staters a female staff member reminded us that we had to vacant our table at 8.30 due to another booking which was fair enough. As soon as our starters arrive we ordered our mains which unfortunately did not reach our table until after 8.15 We ate, cut cake and paid the bill by 9.00 After the bill was paid which amounted to 350£ please. The same female staff member came back to our table to advise that because of us they lost another booking 7 people and that in future we should not ‘take the piss’ this awful tone and language was used in front of 5 young children at our party aged between 3-10 who were Next to her at the time. We were patient with our food arrival / missing starter / dirty plates and the party they said they lost was already seated as we spoke to them and gave them one of our tables to accommodate. They were perfectly pleasant with us so not sure what happened there. In future if you require large parties to vacate in a specified time frame please ensure food arrives in a timely manner, we would have been happy to pre order and cut the cake at home if you had asked us to. Please to not disrespect your customers by waiting until the bill has been paid then make awful remarks and use foul language in front of our children. Based in our upsetting and non family friendly experience we would not dine here again.

Group of 14 people attended a special birthday party with young children. When leaving, the restaurant lost a table of 7, which was actually seated at the time - they then had the audacity to blame us for overstaying (unrealistic time slot of 2hr). The waitress or manager (young female staff member) then approached me and said, "IT'S TAKING THE PISS....". This language was spoken in front of my 10yr child and 6yr son who was stood right next to them. This anguage should NEVER be used in front of children or towards customers. During the meal at no point did the restaurant express a need to leave early, added to the fact that the food came late which likely caused the delay. Avoid this restaurant at all cost. Attitude and behaviours are not suitable for a family or young children. Disrespectful restaurant. Staff need to be trained in how to speak to customers.

Very poor service mad management of time and a waitress with a chip on her shoulder. Very disappointed with the waitress today who took 350£ plus custom then told us ‘not to take the piss in future’. In front of our party which consisted of small children. It is not the customers fault if the food is not able to be delivered to our table within the specified time frame. Booked the table for 6:30pm for 14 people and ordered straight away. On the phone we were told we had a 2 hour dining window which was fair enough. However when we ordered Our starters didn’t arrive until 8:15pm. As a result they lost another booking for 6 people despite us rearranging our party by giving them a table. We paid £350 and after securing our payment the rude manager (female) ruined our special occasion by blamed us for the loss of the booking by overrunning our booking window & used some extremely crass / rude language to describe us. Bearing in mind this is our local restaurant which we’ve used regularly the language and behaviour employed was unacceptable. We’ve decided collectively as a family never to use this restaurant again. I also noticed that the white people who booked there got their bill in a nice box with mints. We didn’t. I presume because we’re Indian and they didn’t appreciate us despite the massive amounts of money we spent?

Service very slow at first especially as we we're the only people in there but it did improve considerably with every demand after the intual bad start being met in fact we even left a tip, the food was great so 👍

amazing food! had 'The Lamb Dish' on the bone, meat fell of the bone into a fragrant medium spiced sauce full of garlic and flavour. Very pleasantly surprised on my first visit there and will definitely return!

We have had an absolutely amazing meal tonight. We were made welcome and a space easily found for My Sister-in-law who is in a wheelchair. Every dish tasted fresh and full of flavour. The couple who are there are so friendly and adaptable. They definitely give a 5 star service.

Food was very good excellent in fact. Service was a little slow. Didn't order till after 30 minutes from being seated. Didn't appreciate the musical trio, who were very talented, putting a collection plate in my face. Then our donation was met with a grunt. The £14 service charge was not expected and is something I prefere to give off of own back. I might consider returning if the service charge was dropped.

Me and a friend just spent a few hours in here and enjoyed their food and drink. Ample portions of very well presented Indian cuisine. Drinks a bit expensive but we did drink quite a lot and shorts and Irish coffees after our food. All in all a really good evening, Thanks to the owners and staff 🥃🥃🍺🍺

So great decor and seating arrangements for such a petite restaurant. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was decent. We had a mix of veg and non veg. Veg was really nice and non veg was great to, but could have had maybe bigger wings in the non veg sizzler. Currys were good but the keema was salty. We fed this back to the waiter and the chef made another portion of fresh keema with rice for free which was top attention to detail and was 100x better. The lamb keema and chicken tawa were 10 out of 10. Naans were lovely too. fluffy and big. ALL THE FOOD WAS HOT ASWELL,as in temperature so I knew it was fresh fresh, which is always good to see. Would deffo recommend 👌🏾

We ordered several dishes and they were all fantastic!! Highly recommended the chilli garlic mushroom and the paneer too! The staff were very professional and polite. I'd recommend anyone who wants to experience a flavoursome Indian food cuisine. Most importantly during COVID times, sanitizer was present at the door and inside the restaurant social distancing was practiced where appropriate.

We went as part of the eat out to help out scheme and I'm glad we did. The prawn tawa I had was delicious, the wife and daughters all enjoyed their meal too. With the govt scheme we saved £34. Well worth a visit.

I’ve ordered here second time. The first one before locked down and the second after locked down. At first order, it was fantastic! Every menu that we ordered was great, so we put Safron Ivy as our favourite place for take away. The second time, wasn’t really as we expected as the the first time that we ordered. This is because every dish in the menu wasn’t the same as before. We wondered what happened after locked down? The the sort of lamb in the mixed grilled have an unpleasant smell like an old meat and it was itchy in the tongue when we ate it. The naan bread was unappetising. Basically most of our orders wasn’t as enjoyable to eat as the first order.

A hidden gem, in Syston First time, my parent and I, have been there. On entering the restaurant we were greeted, with "Namaste" The ambience is very clean and tidy, The two people that greeted us and shown us to our table, were very friendly and helpful, They were very knowledgeable about the food and the ingredients, When food arrived and it was lovely, well presented and good sized portions, my parents really enjoyed it, ( very tasty they said) the quality of the food is very good.. and I think reasonable priced We will definitely use it again,
