Food was cold after being delivered to wrong address because driver just looked at road rather than post code

Being going here for several years, fantastic food and portions are still good despite the economic climate. I really enjoy the paneer sizzler and the garlic chilli chicken. Staff are also very friendly and helpful and will take an order the way you like it, i.e., less spicy. Indian food with a slight twist that makes it different from the box standard food on Melton Road, there is also a large selection of vegetarian dishes and many dishes can be made with an Indo-Chinese fusion.

Took 2 hours to deliver, cold on arrival and an item missing.

First visit here and would definitely return. Food and service first class and reasonably priced, too.

The absolute best Indian/ Chinese food , I have eaten in my life ! If you are undecided to have Indian or Chinese, then go to the ghurka !!! Best of both worlds . Outstanding food and service

I kid you not - the very best onion pakora I have ever eaten. Like honestly. That aside - had the lamb on the bone curry and the special chicken. Both sensational. There was a bit of a wait for mains, however we soon realised there was a rather large table that was being attended to. The staff were absolutely lovely and so attentive the whole time. This will be my new favourite for sure.

Items missing and after 40 minutes still nothing 😢 this is why I have given a poor review 10 pound out of pocket. Theft in my eyes. will not be using them again

Curries has more sauce than then actual chicken or lamb so the potion looks bigger.

Food we got served was very average, lacked a lot of flavour. We had the chicken sizzler & panneer. There are much better places to eat if your a fan of chicken. Mainly disappointed with the service however, repeatedly getting things wrong. I could have just gone on there bad day, but was enough of a bad experience to put me off going again.

Pleasant enough restaurant, with decent service and prices about the same as similar places. I wasn't impressed with the starter grills but the butter chicken main course was one of the best I've ever tasted.

Best in the village. Been multiple times, had multiple takeaways and will keep returning. Lovely food. Good staff.

Rice portions are good only needed one between us. The nwabi paneer is warmer than I had expected but still tasty. Wish I could get a paneer korma. Good size portion of naan bread too.

Host in the restaurant has no personality and doesn’t look after the customers. No wine glasses is abysmal. Fairly good music though.

Gurkha New Delhi has been our go-to spot for dining and takeaways, a place we've cherished for its remarkable culinary offerings. However, today's experience left us disheartened. Despite a minimal order for three mains, it took an unexpectedly lengthy 50 minutes for our food to arrive. Surprisingly, the restaurant was almost empty, with only one other table occupied by six individuals. This extended wait seemed disproportionate to the situation. While the food itself remains a standout, the service was regrettably lacking. The delay in serving a simple order, especially considering the low customer volume, was a significant letdown. It's disheartening when such exceptional cuisine is overshadowed by poor service standards. The discrepancy between the quality of the food and the efficiency of the service was stark and quite disappointing. Moreover, the condition of the facilities, particularly the state of the toilets, was distressing. The appalling hygiene standards in the restroom, with the floor covered in urine, greatly detracted from the overall dining experience. A restaurant of this caliber should maintain better cleanliness and hygiene throughout its premises. In conclusion, while the food quality continues to excel, the management should address and improve upon the service efficiency and sanitation standards. Enhancing promptness, especially during low customer traffic, and ensuring impeccable hygiene across the restaurant, particularly the washrooms, would significantly elevate the overall dining experience for patrons. ---

Food was lovely . Shame about the 3 squid delivery as I live down the road ,but am agoraphobic. Also I wish they still did the manchurian dish they used to do , veggie delight .

I’ve eaten inside last week and the food and service was amazing, ordered a takeout tonight and once again the food was the best I’ve ever tasted, they deserve my 5 star rating and I would highly recommend this restaurant..

The food here is always fantastic, and there’s a huge selection of vegetarian options. Very welcoming, homely atmosphere, but offer a great takeaway/delivery service too.

Scrumptious food with authentic taste. The curries are cooked just right - the beautiful blend of spices are aromatic and tastes so good! Naans, Parathas and Rotis are tasty and well cooked too. I'd highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Indian/Asian flavours.

We had a Saturday evening post rugby curry from the Gurkha for the first time after a number of visits before to eat in the restaurant. Just as per in dine in experience the food we had was wonderful and flavoursome and just as we expected. Great service, only waiting 25 mins for the food to be ready for collection.

Quality food, arrived hot and on time, great menu will definitely come back!

Fantastic. Best curry place in the area. We have tried loads of places around Rothley/Mountsorrel and this is by far the best.

Terrible place, gone down hill massively, used to be good. Was seated on a table with dirty plates and cutlery, disgusting. The service was a shambles had to keep repeating what we wanted and chase, the waitresses clothes were disgusting with stains all over. General hygiene of the place is shocking. Food was terrlible, sizzler food was not fresh, the tawa dish was disgusting with only a few pieces of chicken and sauce was not a tawa dish. Won't be going back to this place for sure.

Great food as usual but having spent over £70 would have expected poppadoms and chutney you do usually put some in the chutney should be standard with a tandoori mix and salad

Food was delicious but we had to take it home as we waited an hour and a half to be served. Staff were friendly but we were forgotten about and not an acknowledged by management. It wasn’t busy and we were put aside on a tiny table which felt humiliating. Expensive for the small portions also. Won’t be returning

Really hard to review this, the food was incredible and highly recommend. The service for me let it down, forgetting drinks orders several times and some wait even though it wasn't busy. The staff were friendly and I would recommend going

Food excellent when I eventually got it. It was ready for collection 35 minutes late and this was after them initially stating they didn't have any order from me. Great food but extremely poor customer service.

The lamb curry could do with more meat in it

Ordered chicken lollipops which was raw. Absolutely vile. One of the managers, apologised but tried to justify it by saying it happens, but shortly chicken should be checked with a temperature thermometer???? The other manager ( bald guy ) had such a bad attitude, never once looked happy, moaning at the younger staff. Left there and then! Will not be returning.

Have tried one dish there and it is amazing! It has chicken pieces, lamb pieces and minced lamb (Keema) all in one dish! A really nice dish. Love it! Service was great, a little slow, but they have got better since.

Never before have we had such a horrible experience with a takeaway, resulting in having to go back to rectify an order after requesting delivery , to abuse, to then returning home with what we thought was a rectified order to yet another missing item ( the main of all things!!) I / we used to rave about this place but after the disgusting customer service we received we will 1000% not be returning!!!

Awful!! Ordered 5 hours in advance and still no show. Cost the best part of £40 and could even get here on time with 5 hours notice!!! DO NOT BOTHER !!!!!!!!!!!!
